Yelp
Old Mill Restaurant gives you complimentary banana muffins and orange juice with your breakfast! I love free food. Well, it's not really free because I'm paying for the meal, but you get my drift. It's additional food, and I'm here for it.
I'm not a huge-breakfast person, so I looked at their "Lighter Morning" section to see if I could find something. I chose the vegetable quiche, which was stuffed with broccoli, cauliflower, celery, carrots, onion, mushrooms, tomatoes and Monterey Jack cheese. The eggs in the quiche are blended with cream cheese, and it's all packed into a flaky, buttery crust. I don't think you're saving yourself many calories by ordering the quiche here, but it was delicious and was served with a huge side of fresh fruit. It also came with a slice of cinnamon toast.
We also got the biscuits and gravy, which are served with eggs and your choice of meat (bacon or sausage patties). It also comes with a side of grits. Lots of white with this one!
My children got the pancakes and eggs and bacon, and it was a good sized serving for a child. The pancakes are fluffy but not cakey -- more spongy, which are the kind of pancakes that I like.
We visited for breakfast, and we had a reservation for right when they opened in the morning. It's a good idea to make a reservation at Old Mill Restaurant, because this place gets really busy. They even have a huge queue that snakes around outside like an amusement park ride. We were seated right away because we had a reservation, but I can imagine that during the peak season, this place gets packed.
If you can, request a seat by the window overlooking the water and the old mill. You'll see ducks and geese and the cute historic shops.
