We decided to start the new year off with lunch at the old mill! It’s a classic for southern food! Just know that there is always a wait and they don’t take reservations. But there are a lot of cool stores around there that you can shop in while you wait! This place has the best corn chowder and corn fritters! Their portions are also really large especially if you go for dinner! We got the fried shrimp, chicken and dumplings, and fruit platter with chicken salad! They were all very good! If I had to do it over I would probably not have got the shrimp, they were good but a smaller portion than other similar priced meals. We didn’t have room for dessert but they have some really good chocolate cake! We’ll definitely god back in the future! I just wish they had a reservation system like some of the area restaurants!

My wife and I got a great seat by the window and were served by an attentive waitress. She kept our cups full and got us our food fast. I liked my club sandwich alright, but I wish I’d gotten something breaded and fried. I loved the corn fritters and their fries here. Both were amazing! Definitely try their fries.

Stopped in for dinner with my friends. It was off-season, but the place was still packed. We found parking right out front, but I could see how this place in the summer would have a longer wait. The service and food here were great. We were seated very quickly upstairs. We ordered, and our food was out in record time. The portions here are gigantic. I noticed multiple people having to go boxes. There were three of us, so we ordered 2 entrees and split it. It was the perfect amount of food. We had the chicken and dumplings and meat loaf. It came with green beans, mashed potatoes and dessert! The dinners also come with salad and soup! I would definitely recommend going here for a great southern meal.

Found this place off of YouTube. It was recommended by a few people as one of the top restaurants to visit while in Pigeon Forge, TN. But our visit wasn’t that impressive. We got there pretty early before the crowds. We got a good table overlooking the river. I must say they kept the rustic wood feel to the place. The menu wasn’t that impressive. Front and back of a menu. The food was okay and was presented on the plate nicely. My kids didn’t enjoy the food much. The staff seemed busy and no hospitality. There was plenty of seating up and down stairs. As we were leaving we noticed the kitchen working hard as a production line. Maybe popularity made this restaurant too busy to have that country feeling.

Google
Delicious! I walked in not knowing what to expect food wise and we were surprised. Affordable prices and you get unlimited sides with your dinner and dessert! The country fried steak was amazing and the mashed potatoes WOW. The fried catfish was just so good so crispy and fried to perfection. Banana pudding and blueberry cobbler was the best of the best. Really awesome place and the best part was visiting off season so we didn’t have a wait and food came unbelievably fast. 10/10 favorite place in TN.

Steeped in history and Southern charm, The Old Mill Restaurant offers more than just a meal—it’s an experience. Housed in an 1830s gristmill, the rustic setting and riverside views create a warm, nostalgic atmosphere. The adjoining Old Mill General Store is a delight, filled with handmade pottery, stone-ground grains, and unique local goods. Even without dining, the smell of hearty Southern dishes—like fried chicken, cornbread, and biscuits made from freshly milled grains—promises an unforgettable meal. Friendly staff and a welcoming vibe make every visit feel special. Whether you're browsing the shop or planning your next meal, The Old Mill is a must-visit for a taste of Tennessee history and hospitality.

We love coming here every time we’re in town. The food, the atmosphere, the location, everything is wonderful. After eating, we like to watch the ducks or take pictures in front of the water or shop in the store. I really liked the pork chop with gravy.

Google
Here on a work trip. First time being here. The atmosphere is top notch if you're looking for an old world country feel. Staff overall is very friendly and attentive. I don't know how many times I was told hello as I was arriving and "have a good day" as I was leaving. Well played. The portions are as generous as they are delicious, which is to say, they are amazing. If you don't leave stuffed then you are neither a fan of awesome food, or for that matter, America. In conclusion, I will return forever and for always.

Yelp
Seated upon arrival, food was delivered quickly, was delicious and hot. Great service.

Yelp
Worth the wait. This restaurant is always packed and always a wait, but worth it. The portion size of all the meals is huge, everyone walking out with to go trays. The food, atmosphere, and server were all amazing. Free dessert is also included. Will be back.

Yelp
This restaurant is one of several buildings. Entering the restaurant feels a bit like going through the queue at Disneyland. We arrived around 5p on a Wednesday evening and the restaurant still had availability. They are very efficient with their process of seating, placing orders, serving and payment). We ordered off of the Southern Fried portion of the menu and asked for the chicken fried steak and the chicken fried chicken. Both came with a corn chowder, side salad, and a basket of corn fritters and biscuits with honey butter to share along with mashed potatoes and green beans followed by a dessert choice. All was great. After hearing other servers with their tables, I realized that our server was providing a bare minimum not giving us all of the options unless we asked. Overall, it was a good place to fill up with good food. Almost everyone left with a to go box, which shows how big the portions are. P.S. Alcoholic beverages are not served here.

Kaylin Y.

Yelp
What an incredible place this is. First of all, don't let the wait scare you away! You can stop in to the general store nearby while you wait and get a bag of duck food for $1 and feed the ducks and geese on property. It's all so beautifully decorated and time just flew by. This place operates like a well oiled machine. The servers provided fast and friendly service. The food is amazing! Fried chicken was flavorful and crisp. Mashed potatoes were so creamy and light! Absolutely loved starting off with the corn fritters and corn chowder as well. Also, it was definitely the biggest bang for our buck restaurant since we've been in town. Always a plus! We can't wait to return!

Yelp
Spectacular dining, made from scratch food, impeccable service, and you'll need a nap after this one! My boyfriend ordered the old mill country breakfast with bacon and ham, grits, eggs and biscuit, and I ordered the cinnamon raisin pecan French toast with eggs and bacon. Holy cow we were swept off our feet. He especially loved the blue berry and strawberry jam/preserve. We will definitely be returning! Plenty of seating and parking available.

Shannon H.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday party of 3 around 10:30 AM and sat right away from breakfast! The complimentary banana nut muffins and triple berry jam was delicious! I got the raised pecan French toast and bacon and it was delicious , my boyfriend got a plate that came with hash browns eggs bacon sausage grits gravy biscuits and pancakes, which fed him for like 3 meals with the left overs! Classic breakfast food in a cute building and part of town! Right in the little river!

Yelp
The 1.5 hour wait was worth it and once seated we had food within 10 minutes. While waiting we roamed the other Old Mill stores where you could hear names being called for seating which was nice. Our server was Kelsey and she was wonderful and very attentive! The rainbow trout was delicious both broiled and fried. The soup came out piping hot. The corn fritters were light and airy and the maple butter pairing was like having corn cakes with maple syrup. I highly recommend stopping to experience Old Mill.

Dalih H.

Yelp
My first time here and the experience was amazing! So much food and awesome service. Our servers were very polite and friendly.

Yelp
What a great place packed with history. I hear there will almost always be a bit of a wait. Southern cooking at its finest to many of the locals. Pure of heart and loyal to Pigeon Forge's most known restaurant. Of course, I had to give them a try. Gatlinburg is only about 15 mins away. They provide you with biscuits and fried corn fritters. Already a hell, yeah! I chose the 10 oz steak cooked medium rare with fries and green beans. The meal I ordered comes with their famous corn chowder and a side salad with honey mustard. Their corn chowder and corn fritters are awesome! The sweet butter that comes with it.. chefs kiss! The 10oz steak was cooked well. However, nothing special about the flavor or value of the steak. The steak was not very tender and had that rubbery texture. Pretty bland flavor but made it work with A1. Altogether, I loved the ambiance and vibe of this southern styled restaurant that packs so much history and great cooking. I can tell the food is solid, but the steak was not their strongest dish. I enjoyed my visit and recommend coming here for an authentic southern cuisine!

Jaime S.

Yelp
This is a must have whenever we're visiting the Smokey Mountains! A lot of times there's a little wait since the restaurant is so popular but it's a huge restaurant! They have a wide variety of Southern cuisine with huge portions! They have a Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner menu! The restaurant is in an Old Mill in Pigeon Forge and it has an operating wheel by the Little Pigeon River! The atmosphere is just down home and the service is impeccable! I personally love their Meat Loaf and Sugat Cured Ham! One of my favorite things is that they start your lunch and dinner with their corn chowder with corn fritters and biscuits! Yummy! A definite must try!!!

Jimmy T.

Yelp
We stopped in with a large group (about 40 of us). * The service was very friendly! * It didn't take very long for the food to come out. * Restaurant was clean and organized. My wife I decided to share the meatloaf with green beans. In our opinion we both felt it was just ok. Just very little flavor and a little dry. The friend of ours at the table got a slice of pecan pie and we share it with the table. It was very good. * We heard from a lot of people in our group they really liked this restaurant. That's why I say "in our opinion".... I do think we will be back in the future and will definitely try something different for sure.

Linh T.

Yelp
Love the ambiance here- very welcoming and homey, yet very busy. Good is really good and large portions! Entrees (I got the pork chops with mashed potatoes) come with a soup, salad, and hush puppies. Dessert is also included and made in house. Be ready to be very full! Chris was my server and was on top of it with multiple tables with large parties. Overall, the service, food and location was wonderful!

Chanelle T.

Yelp
We love the Old Mill! Yes, there is usually a wait, but it is always worth it! And there are cute shops to walk in and out of while you're waiting. The fitters and corn chowder are superb! For this trip, my husband ordered the salad and it was massive! I got the vegetable plate, which I've ordered several times, and will be ordering again! The portions are large and everything is flavored well. My daughter ordered the pot pie and loved it! My son had the meatloaf and enjoyed it as well. We all had leftovers, and also had to take our dessert to-go. Our waitress was also wonderful and very friendly, despite working a double shift that day.

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
A classic for me, being coming for years when I visit Gatlinburg with friends, family and now my boyfriend. It feels like walking back in time to a grandparents cozy home and having the most satisfying meal of your life. Everything is amazing, the staff are gentle and attentive, the food never fails to deliver. This last trip we were blow away by the blackberry cobbler - it's is a MUST TRY!!!

Phil P.

Yelp
Country themed restaraunt built next to an old mill. Extremely popular. We went Sat night at 6pm. Told wait was 60 - 90 min and they split the difference - 75 min til seated. Took 15+ min to place order and another 15-20 min before the entrees came out. Large portions of food. Turkey and dressing and veggies were all very good. Country fried chicken was dry and tough. Dessert is included but all of the desserts were below average taste/consistency. Would have preferred lower price and no included dessert.

Jenn H.

Yelp
I had been to this restaurant about 6 years ago with my mom when on vacation. I now find myself living in this area for a few months and this was where i went for my first dinner when i arrived! I'm so glad to say, it's just as delicious as i remember! I love how you get a full meal- included is a soup, salad, corn fritters, your entree, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a dessert. I don't eat pork very often but i love sauerkraut and I'd read this dish is actually a traditional German new year/good luck meal. It seemed fitting to order it. The meat fell off the bones. It was a bit on the drier side but tender. With the sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, it was very tasty. I could only eat about 1/3 of the portion so i got to bring home lots of leftovers. I had the chocolate cake with chocolate frosting for dessert. This is somewhere I'll definitely be eating on a regular basis because it's so affordable. It's not high end dining- just classic, comforting home style food. The restaurant was packed- I had an hours wait. By the time I left, I heard them telling people the wait was 2 hours. I asked my server and she said it's almost always crowded. There are some shops nearby to browse while you wait- you'll be called over a loud speaker so you can still hear it while looking around the little plaza. If you're in a hurry, this won't be a great choice for dinner. Once you're seated, service is prompt. My food came faster than I'd expected based on the wait time for the table. If you have a little time and want to eat at a place that will make you feel nostalgic with its food, decor, and service, I highly recommend eating here.

Yelp
The best homely American food I have ever had! Each bite just felt so pacifying! The gravy had so much flavor and the chicken pot pie felt like a grand mother had cooked it, it was so good! We went her because Yelp recommended it and it was totally worth it. We had to wait to be seated for about 15-20 minutes, but as soon as we were seated the serivce was super fast. Amazing food!

Alex T.

Yelp
Old Mill Restaurant in Pigeon Forge provided a great dining experience. The service was attentive and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The authentic cabin vibe added a charming touch, creating a cozy atmosphere that perfectly matches the rustic setting. We were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away with no wait, which made the visit even more enjoyable. The menu offered a good variety of food, ensuring there was something for everyone. Overall, a solid choice for a tasty meal and warm ambiance.

Jay G.

Yelp
Huge portions and fun to experience, but the food was all absolutely average. I've checked that box so not sure I need to plan a return visit. Also the "Chicken Pot Pie" should have been called "Incredibly Hot (temperature) Carrot Soup in a Bowl with a Pie Crust Topping and a Few Tough Chunks of Chicken." It did have some good flavor in the filling but overall not what I expected. We got one of almost every dessert option. All below average.

Janet G.

Yelp
The Old Mill is one of our favorites! It's way too much food for my husband and I though so we always split a meal and we still waddle out to the car!! Today we took our granddaughter. She ordered the chicken and dumplings. We ordered the pot roast and gravy. Both meals came with a salad, green beans and mashed potatoes. They also came with the corn chowder and those sinful corn fritters. You just can't stop eating them!! We finished off our meal with the dessert that also comes with the meal. We chose the chocolate cake. Like everything else we ate, it was delicious! Our server was Luis V and he was excellent. The Old Mill, with its wooden floors and rustic decor always reminds me of my grandma's house so there's always a sense of comfort when eating here. I forgot to take pics until the dessert but my granddaughter sent one she took of the fritters.

J F.

Yelp
Such a nice area with all the nearby shops and distillery. While waiting for a seat at the restaurant, you can hear your named called while shopping....or drinking. Food was fabulous and we had the turkey dinner, burger and sweet ham with dumplings.

Bob B.

Yelp
What a great rustic place. The line is crazy long, that said they have the area wired with a speaker system so you can wander the shops while you wait. Wait staff super friendly!!! Food, amazing. I had the fried chicken breasts and they were the juiciest chicken breasts I've had. Mashed potatoes were real, wished I would have had gravy for them, not sure if that is an option. Grits were meh, I'm not a grits fan but thought I should try them.

Christina W.

Yelp
Third time eating here. First time was several years ago when our son was little. Second time was last May. Third time was this May. Each visit is as good as the last. Consistent service and quality of food. I really like their Country Fried Steak. Their meals all come with corn fritters and biscuits, corn chowder, mashed potatoes, and green beans. All of it is delicious. Easy to get in from the parking lot. Either use the elevator or walk up the ramp. Once inside, they will seat you i. One of the various level of rooms. We sat at a window table with a view of the river. Thank you, Daisy, for taking great care of us. We appreciate your kindness.

Cassandra M.

Yelp
Service was excellent and the restaurant has a great ambiance. Our server brought us orange juice (tasted like fresh-squeezed) and mini banana muffins along with some in house preserves. Very tasty. The coffee was good and it was nice to sit back and look at the river while we waited for our food. The pancakes and biscuits were super light and fresh and made with flour from their mill. The maple syrup was warm and not overly sweet. The blueberry compote was good but needed to be heated a little bit. The Southern omelet was very light and had plenty of goodies. However, the eggs themselves didn't have much flavor. All in all a very fresh meal and we would definitely eat here again.

Aaron S.

Yelp
There are some expectations that come with visiting Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. Fudge shops, moonshine samples, any and everything Americana, Dolly Parton's face everywhere. And of course some amazing country food. Now when I say "country food" I'm not even remotely referring to anything that came from a box or can or jar (unless it's a Ball Mason that's been sealed by someone's Memaw 27 years prior). This place brings only the freshest of ingredients to the kitchen and serves it up just like you remember (or will remember after your first visit). Green beans with fatback in it, cornbread from an iron skillet, chicken and dumplings with a few bones in it, and of course some banana pudding that will cause a fight between first cousins. And I'm not going to leave out that sweet tea; nectar of the southern gods that stuff. Makes your lips shine and taste like syrup for hours. But I digress, let's talk about the setting. Now depending on the time of year, that intricate entryway will either seem unnecessary or fully necessary. I have been here where the wait was 2 hours and when it was 2 minutes. And no, they don't take reservations. First come, first served. Just like at your grandma's table. And that water wheel outside? Yep, it's still in operation. That's how the restaurant began, a place to get a meal while getting sacks of grain ground into meal and flour for cooking. It's one of the oldest such mills in the U.S. You'll want a selfie and/or group photo (not to mention some of your food). This is to counter the food coma-amnesia that follows when the table is cleared and you're walking slowly out the door, wondering when you can return again.

Rebecca A.

Yelp
During our time in Pigeon Forge, TN our first stop was to the section that included the Old Mill Restaurant. It was national grilled cheese day, so it was a BIG day in my book!!! We got upstairs to the entrance and we all decided the menu sounded great and we'd have lunch here. The place was packed! We were sat upstairs with a view of the water. Our server Savannah was amazing! I wish she could be my server every time I eat out. Almost all offerings come with a cup of their corn chowder and corn fritters. The chowder is the perfect consistency. Has the perfect amount of veggies to broth ratio. And super peppery. We all loved it so much we bought soup mix to-go from the general store out front. The fritters were warm, crunchy on the outside, and great with the maple butter. Definitely not a ton of corn inside of the corn fritters we had though. As for main courses I forgot to take pictures of the fried catfish and meatloaf, but both were rated excellent by JD and Diane. As for my grilled cheese. They offer a kids grilled cheese, so for my "adult grilled cheese" they gave me two kid grilled cheese sandwiches! Good ol American cheese on white bread!! I was hoping for something more exciting, more fancy, but as fast as they pump food out of that kitchen, I was happy with any form of grilled cheese that day. The Ole Mill Restaurant would definitely be a return stop if ever in Pigeon Forge again.

Dottie K.

Yelp
Wow it was busy. They put us on a 3 hour wait. It actually gave us an opportunity to take in the little shops around the restaurant and only ended up being about two hours long. We had Thanksgiving dinner there which consist of turkey and ham dressing, green beans and the most amazing corn fritters. The price was reasonable and the service was great. Give it a try if you're ever in Pigeon Forge.

Jeanita O.

Yelp
I ordered takeout for the sake of time, but customers were seated quickly. I love the original wooden decor of the mill. Parking was spacious, and the food was decent. The corn fritters and pork chops were my favorite. I did not enjoy the biscuits, corn chowder, prime rib, pot roast, green beans, mashed potatoes, berry cobbler, pecan pie, or fried apples. Overall, staff were friendly, so I will return again. There are several shops located nearby. The view is a bonus.

Charity J.

Yelp
We didn't have to wait for a table so that was great. Our waitress wasn't busy with a ton of other tables yet we had to constantly ask her to refills on our drinks. The food was acceptable, but for the price it wasn't anything to be impressed with. The "fruit plate" had a lot of fruit that was spoiling even though the fruit was in season. We won't recommend this place the ambiance was similar to old Cracker Barrel though so there is that.

Brandy D.

Yelp
We went at 3pm and the place is very large and busy. I do feel our server was in a rush at all times. My father asked him a question between two meals and his response was "we serve 2000-4000 meals a day so must be doing something right" had nothing to do with the question asked. All the meals are very hearty even for lunch. They only have green beans and mashed potatoes as sides. I ordered the Chicken Pot Pie it was delicious! The crust is very thick too. They have a general store attached with lots of goodies for sale. Have to go on bridge to get a great photo of the building!

Erika H.

Yelp
Easily accessible location... Great food and reasonable prices for meals. The chocolate cake is to die for!

Rebecca H.

Yelp
I wish I had taken pictures of our meal. It was SO so good. We got to The Old Mill Restaurant around 7:15 on Saturday evening and there was a 40-minute wait. That wasn't too bad. We explored the store and also listened to the live music that was outside. It's so beautiful in the area. After we got seated, the service was amazingly quick. We got our drink orders quickly and ordered our meal. You get SO MUCH food! Every meal comes with a cup of corn chowder and a salad. It also comes with mashed potatoes and southern style green beans that are family style. They refill the bowls of them as much as you want. Also, it comes with dessert after you've stuffed yourself silly. SO much food for a really good price! One of the girls ordered off the kids menu (chicken tenders with Mac and cheese). I ordered the chicken and dumplings. One of the girls ordered the meatloaf and the other ordered the southern style bbq - with a loaded baked potato and Mac & cheese on the side. The chicken and dumplings was eat as much as you want. They refilled them as often as I wanted. They were the BEST chicken and dumplings I have ever had. The corn chowder was also amazing (I had never had it before). After I was stuffed so much that I was going to waddle out, we ended up getting our desserts to go. The girls got the chocolate cake and I went for the cobbler. Later in the evening when we got a sweet tooth craving, we ate our desserts. Neither were a bad choice! This place is now on my MUST visit again.

Beverly B.

Yelp
The parking was a little bit of a struggle but the food and atmosphere made up for circling the street. I enjoyed the biscuit and fritters. The star was the tasty butter and chowder. We also enjoyed the tea it was not too sweet. Our server was awesome and she made sure we had our food pipping hot. I will definitely be back to try the meatloaf but the chicken was good.

Rylie W.

Yelp
We really enjoyed this restaurant! Great food and kind staff members. We waited about an hour and was able to go around to the shops that had the intercom to hear when our table was ready!

Ana A.

Yelp
This was such a great restaurant. Came here for breakfast and I have to say it was amazing! The service was over and beyond ensuring that we all had what we needed. I love when servers enjoy their job and they take pride in their job. The breakfast was fresh and filling. this restaurant normally has 1-2 hours wait - but we were early before the crowd. Posted pictures for the amazing food. The ambiance is good country soul feeling.

Hayli Z.

Yelp
GET HERE EARLY! That's my first advice. They open at 8 a.m. for breakfast and a line was already forming. When we left the line was HUGE. Next to the main restaurant is a little general store that sells their biscuit and pancake mix and other goods, but let's talk about the food. We were seated next o the water overlook, which was great to look at and let in plenty of sunshine. As soon as you sit down you're given complimentary orange juice and mini banana nut muffins, jam/preserves and butter, so already I'm happy. I got the veggie quiche, which was probably the best quiche I've ever had. It was filled with broccoli, mushrooms and other veggies and also had shredded cheese and cream cheese so it was super rich and creamy I wanted a whole tray. My mom's breakfast, the country breakfast, came with mini pancakes, corn grits, which were okay, eggs, home fries and biscuits. The biscuits were amazing. Large, fluffy and warm. I thought this place would be overhyped with the ads we saw, but the huge crowd amd the good food. Definitely worth it. If you get there later, you can put your name in and walk to all the nearby stores in this little village. They have a creamery, candy store, iron work artists amd another little kitchen store.

DeAndrea B.

Yelp
Firstly let me say that our service was phenomenal, our server was super nice. It was a particularly busy day but we were seated shortly. Very rustic ambiance and they give you banana muffins and orange juice as a starter which isn't common in breakfast restaurants so my kids were thoroughly impressed. I got the sausage and gravy biscuits and they were delightful. I can see why people come here as it was highly recommended by at least three people who have visited the area. Highly recommend!

Christine H.

Yelp
This place is a very popular spot and had a long wait for lunch. Worth it though? yes :P Hearty, good comfort food is served here. Each entree comes with a cup of their signature Corn Chowder, corn fritters, homemade mashed potatoes and green beans. Come hungry because the portions are pretty big. You will leave stuffed! Food came out quickly and the service was great. The country fried steak was my favorite.

Nicole S.

Yelp
Old Mill Restaurant gives you complimentary banana muffins and orange juice with your breakfast! I love free food. Well, it's not really free because I'm paying for the meal, but you get my drift. It's additional food, and I'm here for it. I'm not a huge-breakfast person, so I looked at their "Lighter Morning" section to see if I could find something. I chose the vegetable quiche, which was stuffed with broccoli, cauliflower, celery, carrots, onion, mushrooms, tomatoes and Monterey Jack cheese. The eggs in the quiche are blended with cream cheese, and it's all packed into a flaky, buttery crust. I don't think you're saving yourself many calories by ordering the quiche here, but it was delicious and was served with a huge side of fresh fruit. It also came with a slice of cinnamon toast. We also got the biscuits and gravy, which are served with eggs and your choice of meat (bacon or sausage patties). It also comes with a side of grits. Lots of white with this one! My children got the pancakes and eggs and bacon, and it was a good sized serving for a child. The pancakes are fluffy but not cakey -- more spongy, which are the kind of pancakes that I like. We visited for breakfast, and we had a reservation for right when they opened in the morning. It's a good idea to make a reservation at Old Mill Restaurant, because this place gets really busy. They even have a huge queue that snakes around outside like an amusement park ride. We were seated right away because we had a reservation, but I can imagine that during the peak season, this place gets packed. If you can, request a seat by the window overlooking the water and the old mill. You'll see ducks and geese and the cute historic shops.

Yelp
Our Dinner was scrumptious!!! I had the grilled pork chops! My husband had the fried chops! And they were Both Equally "finger lick n'," good! I can see why this place has ridiculously long lines & why people wait. Wasn't to crazy about pecan pie to sweet to hard crust/filling both. The cobbler hands down best we've had to date in Tennessee!

Yelp
I've tried to go here in the past but the wait was always too long! This past weekend was perfect though! We got there early, so that helped too! The corn chowder and corn fritters that came with our meals were amazing!! Then the rest of our food came and more YUM! Our server was excellent, helped us with questions and checked back often. The general store next door has duck food and they are ready and waiting to be fed! Parking is easy to this area too!

Yelp
All I can say is yum! Great food, great service and great location. Set just off the road, this place feels like it's part of a little village. I've never had anything to at wasn't fantastic here and despite the wait, it is well worth it. This restaurant gets people in and out super fast without feeling rushed. It's a must try in the area!

Yelp
This meal was the best I had in awhile! It was so delicious I could eat it over and over again. For reference, I ordered the turkey dish. Sides and everything were great. Prices were good for the amount of food you get, just be prepared to come hungry! Everyone in our family enjoyed their food. Service was excellent. Would love to come back if we visit the area again. We are from FL. Would honestly visit again just to come here and eat! In the gift shop/ store bought the soup sampler and some extra bags to give as gifts for the family who didn't get to enjoy such a meal back home!

Yelp
We arrived and got it line just before lunch started @11am. The line was always really long but the hostess said it could but about an hour wait. Once the breakfast crowd cleared out, it was only about 30 minutes to be seated. Right away our server greeted us and took our order (as we had plenty of time to look at the menu out front). Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable on the menu. We received our drinks and a cup of corn chowder and corn bread only moments later. Our food arrived in about 20 short minutes Hot and delicious! We ordered the beef liver and Turkey and dressing. Both entrees come with green beans (which was perfectly seasoned) and mashed potatoes. Our meal was awesome! The building itself is an old mill (hence the name). It was really pleasant inside even though it was really crowded. The meal was reasonably priced. We'll definitely be back. Be patient and enjoy your meal.

Yelp
The Old Mill Restaurant offers up classic southern cuisine in a rustic and relaxing atmosphere. From the get go, this place seems country. It looks like a log cabin. Light wood everywhere from the banisters, to the doors, walls, tables and chairs. They have an elevator but in order to access it, you need to go up a ramp. We felt like we were getting in line for a ride at Disney World. Seating around noon didn't take long. The place was getting busier and busier but we were sat immediately. Our server was around quick and he was super friendly. We had a gigantic round table with plenty of room to move about and stack plates of food. I ordered unsweetened tea. For $16.99, I ordered the Country Fried Steak for my meal. All of their southern style specialties come with a cup of their signature corn chowder, corn fritters, homemade mashed potatoes and southern style green beans. Also ordered at the table was the fried chicken, the meatloaf and the chicken and dumplings. The food didn't take too long and everything looked good. We started with the corn chowder. This was well seasoned and creamy. It's made with a sweet corn, onions, potatoes and bell peppers. There is a clam juice component, I think in the sauce, but nothing overly seafood tasting. This was good and started the meal off well. The homemade corn fritters were also excellent. Bits of corn in a fried dough. They almost reminded me of funnel cake with their sweet taste and doughy texture. We lathered these in a sweet honey butter they offered and delighted in the southern goodness. My choice Black Angus beef cut for my country fried steak was well cooked but almost too much. It turned out to be pretty tough and didn't necessarily remind me of a top notch piece of beef. It had strings of fat and gristle in it and honestly wasn't the most appetizing. It was well breaded and fried golden brown it just wasn't super crispy. The mashes potatoes on the side were creamy, smooth and well seasoned too. They were good for mashed potatoes. The southern style green beans were nice change of pace for a side but they reminded me of beans I can get out of a can from Publix. No different and for this reason they didn't stand out as super special. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their meals and the food was good! One thing you can guarantee leaving a good southern meal is the food sticks to your ribs and you're ready for nap. We needed a walk but were glad we tried this place.

Yelp
My wife and I enjoyed eating here a few years ago, but haven't been back because we think there are better restaurants in the area. The food is a bit pricey and we aren't big fans of country cooking. The food also doesn't taste very fresh. The environment is great. Expect a long wait during busy seasons.

Yelp
Our Russian waiter was on point. Funny and knew the menu well. Good food with a good waiter is a great place to go. Large place that makes the wait with a large crowd seem fast. We had two people and it only took 20 mins and the place was packed. The fried chicken was great! Everything we had was good. Listen to your waiter but you can't go wrong with anything. We have been there a few times. You won't complain if you go.
