Atlanta Restaurant and Brewery Cats and Dogs | Eater Atlanta

"After rescuing Tucker from the Atlanta Humane Society in 2019, I watched the basset hound mix become an early mascot for The Old Mulehouse in Jasper—spending construction days with contractors, greeting guests at the first open house by the beer tub, appearing on the restaurant’s Instagram and local news, lounging with patrons on the pet-friendly patio, and happily romping on nearby Sharp Top Mountain trails with his owners." - Laura Scholz

Google
Found them online and was excited to give it a try. I love old buildings that are rescued and revitalized. It was an old round roof structure with large steel trusses and wood ceiling. Beautiful building. Now let's eat. We were given a limited menu that basically had 2 burgers, chicken sandwich, and blt. I had seen the menu online and was looking forward to a beer cheese pretzel and gyro. Apparently they have a different menu for Mon & Tue. We got the chicken sandwich and a burger splitting then so we could try both. The fries were unique and excellent. The chicken sandwich was average but fresh. The burger was mushy and flavorless. We both wished we had passed on it. Far very from a normal flame broiled patty. The waitress was new and not very attentive. Just doing the basics. Wish we had come a little later in the week.

🍻 Busy spot with a lively vibe! Service was a little slow, but we didn’t mind too much. 🥨 The pretzel with pimento beer cheese was fantastic—rich, cheesy, and a big hit. The boys loved the giant tots 🥔✨…basically an “everything potato” in oversized tot form. 🥗 The salad was fresh and paired perfectly with the house-made ranch. Other entrées were solid overall; my mussels were just okay 🦪. I also tried the sweet dish, thinking I’d enjoy it, but it wasn’t for me 🍬🙃. 🎨 The décor was cool and added to the fun atmosphere.

This place is one of the best restaurants I have ever been. When you enter through the doors you are greeted with a happy, welcoming staff. The place has a comfortable cozy feel to it. It is very clean as well. The food was very good and reasonably priced. I got the Pretzel as an appetizer and the brisket sandwich with fries. There coffee is probably one of the best and most fresh cups I have ever had. They definitely do things right. You will not be disappointed if you get a meal here. Our server was great as well, very polite and did her job very well. The view of the mountains is also a very great extra bonus as well.

Google
I have been to this place twice and look forward to it every year moving forward. My family took a small one day trip last year where we ended up in Jasper and at this wonderful restaurant. We loved it so much we came back again this year! Our server Lauren was wonderful, kind, and had a good sense of humor. The food here is great, and they have a HUGE variety of drinks if that’s your kind of thing. The atmosphere is also beautiful, saving the charm of the history behind the restaurant. I cannot wait to come back next year. I definitely recommend!

Google
This place had a unique look inside. The food was absolutely delicious. The spinach and artichoke dip was the best we have ever had. The server was a great server.

Google
The chicken and waffles was an excellent choice drill drizzled in this amazing syrup bourbon maple I believe it was called. I chose to get a blueberry lemonade, which was not refillable. However, she did refill my drink with lemonade, which was just the right touch on Easter weekend. it wasn’t very busy, but we still chose to sit outside. The air was nice and I was just absolutely floored when I saw them serving even the dogs, fresh bowls of water. I will definitely come back and visit again. It is an excellent choice to get lots of great food and they even had a live singer if I can find the video I’ll post it.

Google
We had our rehearsal dinner here in April with ~60 guests and we had the best time! Planning was so easy with Chelsea’s help every step of the way. The outdoor space was beautiful, the service was excellent, and the food and drinks were delicious. They allowed us to bring in our own table decorations/signage to make it our own and were very accommodating for our guests with dietary restrictions. We would absolutely recommend The Old Mule House!

Google
We had an amazingly joyful trip here while on a getaway.. both Ryan (sp?) and Hannah were absolute gems who made the night great. The food was super good, the venue retro chic. The menu offers vegan and vegetarian options too. The brown butter cake was a perfect closer. Thank you Ryan...you "BB" ;)

Yelp
My wife and I were in Jasper on vacation and decided to eat at the Ol Mulehouse. It was amazing service was excellent, food was outstanding. We actually liked it so much that we ate two meals there over the course of a week. And if we are ever back down to Jasper we will certainly eat there again. I highly recommend this restaurant to you.

Yelp
I went to this place 3 weeks ago and just had to go back. This time I had the trout entree. The trout tasted great. The ginger carrots tasted so good. I really didn't think the combo would taste good but it surprised me. The grits were nice and creamy. The server was great. The place is well decorated.
google avatar

Yelp
Very good service, friendly server. Wouldn't order my selection again: brisket Reuben. Bread hardly toasted and lots of fat in the meat. Fries were very good!

Yelp
Stopped in at the Old Mulehouse with some friends after leaving the Jeep Fest in Jasper. We caught them at just before 3pm, so it was on the edge of Sunday Brunch and Sunday dinner menus, so the server waffles a bit between what to do. After the slight awkwardness, we did a mix between the 2 menus amongst the 4 of us. When the smoked salmon hash arrived for me, it smelled great and tasted great. It felt like it needed a little something on the side to complete the dish, but it was good enough. The other dishes looked good, and I really liked the abundance of fries on their plates. The industrial atmosphere inside was unique and appealing. Unfortunately, the spiral ductwork above the table was sweating, and I was getting a drop on my shirt and head about every 30 seconds; kind of a pain, but I just dealt with it for whatever reason. I do recommend stopping in to check these guys out, but they could use a little bit of work to move this establishment up the scale. JM

Yelp
This place was so fun and the food was amazing. We sat on the nice patio and there was a live music situation happening which people seem to enjoy. The server was really cool looking to you. I enjoyed his little style. He enjoyed it so much we went back the next day for brunch.

Yelp
This is our first time to old Mule house. Great spot in downtown Jasper with a view if you were sitting outside on the back deck. Food was great, service was outstanding, and they are dog friendly on patio. Best fish n chips I've had in N Georgia!! Our server Shea took extra great care of our pup....we will be back.

Yelp
Burgers and service was awesome. Riley is the bomb! I'm bound and determined to finish the Octo burger!

Shannon S.

Yelp
Let me begin with the positive. The food here was very good. My friend and I shared the mushroom burger and her husband had the shrimp and grits. All was delicious! The problem was that we waited over an hour for our food. I don't know if the kitchen was understaffed or what but it was an unreasonable amount of time for a burger. While the waitress was very sweet, we felt a bit forgotten about. Maybe she had too many tables; I don't know but I do know waiting tables is tough. The winners of the Worst Attitude Award were the hostesses. There was a 30 minute wait so one of them took my friend's number but she wrote it down wrong. After about 30 minutes, he went in to check our status. She said, we texted you and you didn't respond so we gave away your table. When he asked her to read back the number she had, she had written it down wrong. Begrudgingly and with attitude, she offered another table. Some of the patrons had complained that it was too warm. They turned on the fan so high that it blew out the candle on the table and, had my silverware not been on our napkins, those would've been on the floor. When I asked the other hostess to see if they could turn the fans down she said OK. Several minutes passed and when I followed up with her, she looked at me and said with a raised voice, "It's very busy, give me a minute!" Having worked as a waiter for many years, I couldn't believe she spoke to me that way. In summary, the food....very good!! The vibe....OK! The wait staff....pretty good! The hostess staff....needs work!

Yelp
The server knew the menu by heart and made great recommendations! He recommended me the brisket sandwich which was great! Also the Oreo cheesecake was the best dessert on the menu! I highly recommend coming here!

Yelp
Went for a birthday celebration ( we have been several times) last night. Great server Mason waited on us and was very pleasant. Appetizers were fantastic (mussels and the whipped feta dip). Gyro and the steak fries were yummy. Two of us ordered the salmon which was undercooked, sent back but still not right. The manager came over and made it right (busy night but it happens). We appreciated them taking care of us and will definitely be back again soon! See Ryan at the bar, full of personality and mixologist to perfection! Thank you to all who made our night special!

Yelp
Super cool restaurant & event space!! Great bar, cold drinks & most staff smile. Had to wait just a few for our patio table, so got drinks at that bar to start. 5 adult beverages was around $45. Sat on the cute patio (wish I had a pic). Relaxed & enjoyed my company. We were guests, and our family said they come all the time- They love it! Oh, my son was here before too & liked it a lot. Food was really good! I had fish & chips (no pic). Fish could have been seasoned a little more, but lite & delicious!! The FRIES are amazing!!! My guys got a grilled brisket sandwich & my sister-in-law got a salad & Gyro- VERY GOOD said everyone!! I see they have event space. I'd rent if needed & lived closer!! Parking may be a walk- lots all around, but not on property. A cute town setting. Do some shopping when you are finished with your great meal. I'd love to go back when in town!! I'm satisfied!

Yelp
Rustic chic with exposed pipes and interesting decor in downtown Jasper. I tried this place when I first moved to Jasper and didn't care for their menu which was eclectic but not very good. The prices were unreasonably high and the food was weird. Fast forward 3 years and the interesting decor is unchanged but the menu was completely overhauled. The menu items were spectacular with a brisket grilled cheese sandwich that was fresh, and rich with crispy French fries and an excellent attentive staff. Make sure to ask for Riley Bush for your server. This place which was once marginal has been transformed by a simple menu change. Don't hesitate to grab a meal here. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Sat at the bar. Staff was busy and kept attentive to me which was great. Southern Reuben was disappointing Lite on the brisket (truly about half a sandwich worth) and bread heavily butter but hardly toasted. Fries were also underdone so not very crispy. Indifferent food prep in my mind. Won't be back.

Tim M.

Yelp
Everything on the menu was amazing! It was hard to choose what the order and everything we did order was outstanding! I was 100% recommend doing there. Service was great. They had live music and an amazing atmosphere. I would give it a hundred Stars if I could!

Yelp
We went to the Old Mulehouse for an early dinner with two other couples. Two had the brisket Rubin, two had salads, one had fish and chips and one had the shrimp and grits. Everybody loved the food. The waiter was very attentive at the beginning and came around with refills of water during the meal. I always judge the wait staff by how they handle the table during the meal, if my tea is checked on and refilled during the meal. Never came to my end of the table and never offered to refill. Negative. The ambiance was great and we were able carry on a conversation without yelling down the table. We will go back for the food and hopefully better service.

Yelp
Visiting Jasper for the weekend from Florida and stumbled upon this gem!! Love the old historic feel of the decor, had a really sweet waitress and can I just say the Mac and cheese croquet with bacon jam and fried onions was outstanding!! Wish we lived closer because we would definitely go back!!

Yelp
First time here, atmosphere is pleasant reminds me of back home in Texas. Had the gyros plate & my friend had the onion soup with grilled cheese. Waitress was pleasant & sweet very attentive. Food came out hot and proper.

Connie W.

Yelp
Went to Ellijay to get apples and on our way home to Newnan was looking for a local place to eat. Came across this restaurant on Yelp. The atmosphere was great. Ordered a cheeseburger/fries. Both were very good. Burger cooked to perfection. And the fries, oh my, the fries! They were hot and crispy, just the way I like them Our waiter was attentive and kept our drinks filled; we were extremely thirsty. Thank you for a great experience. We plan on coming back to Jasper to check out the shops around there, and will definitely be stopping by the Old Mulehouse!!!

Yelp
Nice place to sit down and have a drink by yourself or sit with your family! Service was on point but a tad expensive I feel like it's worth a special occasion though

Yelp
The last two times I went , I was left with an " meh" feeling ; this restaurant has multiple personalities. The location is downtown historic area easy parking and a central location to the area. There is a podium at the door where you are handed menus and then directed to an ordering counter like a New York deli. You order and then the waitress takes you to your table and provides beverages and brings your food.. The service is inconsistent, and below average of a regular dining experience. This restaurant is what I would consider mostly self, serve. To get a second drink you have to stand up and wave your arms and possibly even go back to the front door area to ask for more SERVICE or go to the bar yourself . This is happened to us twice when we sat inside. One time we went with friends and we sat outside . I think the service is a little more regular because people probably drink more cocktails and stay a little longer outside. The FOOD is good. All the portions look measured and weighed out; the portions are very small for the price . The outdoor open patio seating parallels the little historic town's main thorough fare. Traffic noise is not a problem but car exhaust may be. Inside the decoration is metro metal style. Modern rustic. The tables and chairs are placed wide apart. Plenty of room between tables which is a plus . The ceilings are very high and painted dark the floors are concrete . The front of the restaurant faces the street and has full windows all the way across giving a lot of natural light and a historic view. I'm really on the 50 yard line . Your expectations for food flavor should be high. Your expectations for service should be minimal and your expectations for the atmosphere depends on where you sit.. the drinks are great at the bar . I am sure "take out" could meet your expectations if you need a light meal or snack.

Yelp
Every time I read the menu I didn't think I'd like it but we finally gave it a chance and we were pleasantly surprised! The photos didn't do the space justice at all. Very open and rustic/industrial almost. Big outdoor patio with views of the mountains. A little noisy from the traffic but not too terrible. The food was fantastic as well as the service:)

Yelp
Found this cool place in Jasper last night and the food did not disappoint. I started with the French onion soup. The cheese had a nice crust and the bread & broth were fabulous. For the main course I selected the trout dish. It was fresh with a crispy pecan crust, paired with mash potatoes and veggies. The staff, although very friendly, seemed a little disjointed and, at times, seem to forget I was even there. They didn't seem clear on who was taking care of my table either. The place seemed new, so I'm not sure if they are still working on their service their rhythm. Work on that and this place will be 5 starts all the way. I was really not bothered since I was catching up with emails after a long trip back from Vegas and didn't really notice most times. The place has a lively bar, a cute outside sitting area, and I believe I saw a live music setup. I would recommend this place if you ever find yourself in downtown Jasper.

Yelp
We cannot say enough about the food, staff and atmosphere at the Old Mulehouse in Jasper. Our son was getting married at the Tate House (10-12 min away) and OM fit the bill perfectly for the rehearsal dinner. We had 30 people and the back private was great. Food was amazing and Clayton and Jerry took great care of our group. Chelsea the event coordinator was awesome to work with! Some in our group even went back for lunch the next day.

Shanna A.

Yelp
Adorable place with great food and drinks. They have an outdoor deck and often have live music as well. Get the cheesecake for dessert, it's the best I've ever had. And be sure to check out the bathroom, the view is amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
We have this place a try as it seems we have a hard time finding really good food when we are up this way. I'd give the ambiance 5 stars. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very nice and attentive. Service was also 5 stars. Little disappointed with the size of a full Grecian salad for the price. Not a lot in it besides lettuce. It was good but I like more onion tomato cucumber olives. The Bloody Mary was quite good! The burger was good and the fries came out lukewarm warm. It was really cold out though. They sent out a fresh batch and they were good.

Nancy M.

Yelp
I have to say that it was all impressive. From the service to the food! The view is incredible too. I love the feel of the building with exposed brick all around. We will be back
google avatar

Yelp
On the corner heading into Jasper is Old Mulehouse, with a tea-light patio, and beautiful, old brick building that's breathtaking inside! Rustic, yet industrial, the Old Mulehouse is a spacious, open-air restaurant with exposed brick and a sprawling bar area. They had transformed into The Old Yulehouse with stockings hung with care, multiple Christmas trees, and a gorgeous lounge area behind a pair barn doors. Outside, the patio is large, dotted with patio furniture and covered in case of rain. We sat near the end of the patio where you can sit and stare at the mountain views all day. There, we tried several brunch items like the salmon hash, the brunch burger, and the steak and eggs. We also opted for some unique items, the Greek hush puppies and egg nog cheesecake, as well as some of their featured Christmas cocktails. Kicking off our brunch with a Christmas cocktail of the day, the Peppermint Martini. The one has a bit of everything from creaminess to minty to sweetness from the sugar rim and then a good hint of booze on the back. It's definitely a cool Christmas cocktail! The other cocktail we tried is the Hayman's Law, which is their take on a slow gin fizz, but with elderflower! It comes off refreshing, light, tangy, and a good sippable brunch drink. We know why it's a customer favorite. Our brunch meal was a mix of seriously good salmon hash, a hearty brunch burger, festively seasoned fries, and a savory steak and eggs. Starting with the Salmon Hash, which combined smoky, salty, tender salmon perfectly paired with earthy cooked spinach, crunchy potatoes, and a fantastic bright lime hollandaise on top. It was a spectrum of flavors that came together well. Beyond the hash, we also opted for the Brunch burger that is well-seasoned and perfectly cooked. On top, hearty pork belly adds a ton of savor, as well as sharp cheddar cheese on some nicely buttered buns. This beautiful burger came with the best seasoned fries! The seasoning is phenomenal and a good mix of crunch and potato. John loves a good steak, so he picked the steak and eggs. Now that's one perfectly cooked and seasoned steak! It is paired with fluffy eggs and the same amazing fries. Not only is the brunch fantastic, so are some unique apps and desserts they offer. Starting with the Greek Hush Puppies, these little numbers are house-made falafel that's grainy and earthy just like you'd expect it with mellow chickpeas. Whatever you do, you must eat it with the sauce! It is spicy and creamy at the same time! Then, the best surprise of the whole meal was the Egg Nog Cheesecake! They have a new pastry chef, and her cheesecake of the day was this one, which was simply stellar! Creamy and thick with a mellow, sweet, and savory egg nog juxtaposing the delicate cheesecake for a fantastic flavor. The best part though must be the ooey, gooey sweet sugar cookie crust that melted in your mouth and was the icing on the cake for this dessert. Beyond the wonderful food is the impeccable service. Matt is a gem!

Yelp
My wife and I have dined here a few times before, both with small groups and just the two of us. The food has always been pretty good. Tonight, we decided to have a belated Valentines dinner. We were seated promptly and the waitress was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food was not good. The macaroni and cheese balls were tasty, but lukewarm, my hamburger was dry and tasteless, the fries, lukewarm. My wife had the Beef Bourguignon which was okay. The desert was the Valentine Charcuterie. Everything was soggy as if it was prepared yesterday. The entrees were served before we had finished our appetizer. Not worth the 90 minute drive from Mineral Bluff.

Yelp
Jasper has been a "drive through" town for nearly 8 years - a place to stop for gas and a quick bite on our way to Blue Ridge. Tonight we wanted something a little different, and I am so glad we ventured off of 515 and into downtown Jasper to try the Old Mulehouse. Food was delicious and our server Gabe was excellent - helpful and friendly! We had the whipped feta as an appetizer (at Gabe's recommendation) and it was amazing. I had half order of the beet and apple salad with grilled chicken and my husband had the black bean burger. Both were excellent. They have a great beer and cocktail selection as well as several desserts (I couldn't resist taking a piece of baklava home for later). We will definitely make a point to stop by again on our way through going forward.

Kasey P.

Yelp
The food was so good! Definitely recommend the Mac n cheese croquettes. Service was incredible! We decided to share a burger between the two of us and they brought it out already split up, each plate with their own fries as well. We sat outside and the atmosphere was great out there. We'll definitely be back! I forgot take pictures because we ate the food so fast

Yelp
My girlfriend and I went here for dinner on the 27th of April. We are from out of town and saw this cute gem! Food was really good, we ordered the giant pretzel with pimento beer cheese. I wish the pretzel had salt on it, but overall it was soft and delicious. My girlfriend ordered the filet mignon, cooked to perfection. However i was a bit confused about the cut that came out. I used to seeing round and tall piece of meat, with a piece of bacon wrapped around. It wasn't, but she said it was good regardless. I ordered the bronzed salmon. Which was really good and flavorful! The staff was friendly which is always a plus. We did wait a little while for our main food, which our server recognized and apologized a couple of times and the manager on duty also stopped by our table to apologize also and gave us a free appetizer on our next visit. We also had a meal discounted and when the server brought the check he apologized again. Wasn't expecting any of it. Was nice that they noticed, we weren't even going to mention anything since we are pretty understanding. The inside was so cool looking, kinda high end food with a more laid back vibe. And everybody was wearing whatever they had on for the day. Would eat here again. Last thing, I've never been into a restroom (female) where there has been a Mountain View! Check it out!

Yelp
Great place food was good. Service was fantastic. Had a good time met with friends. We sat and talked and enjoyed our meals. The desserts were off the chain nice place would recommend it to anyone.

Yelp
Yearly Jeep fest trip & stopped at this restaurant for the 1st time. Ordered a burger, fish & chips, pita with hummus/veg, mussels and dessert. All of our food arrived with perfect timing, hot and yummy! Mussels were VERY good. Can't remember the last time I ordered fries & burger- but todays meal did not disappoint! Our server was a young man who did a great job. No complaints & we will return!

Nat S.

Yelp
Food, atmosphere and service is always amazing here. BEN makes the best drinks and has the sweetest personality. He makes a wonderful Bellini! We went this weekend and he offered us a limited time edition of a frozen Bellini. They were absolutely incredible and refreshing. We hope the frozen machine stays because that will be our summer drink!!!!

David T.

Yelp
Great ambience, great service and exceptional food. The food was fresh and locally sourced. The server and manager were extremely friendly and kind and outgoing and got everything right with our order. I'm a hard customer to please, but they checked all the boxes for me. If you're in the area stop into this place And try something delicious. Literally everything we had was amazing. We had the beat and goat cheese salad with steak, the soup and salad with steak and goat cheese salad with French onion soup and my wife ordered the beef gyro with a French onion soup side. The soup was so good that we took a French onion to go.I also ordered their signature bloody Mary, which was delicious and full of yummy snacks and my wife had the pink mule which she loved.

Yelp
My husband and I had a date together at Old Mulehouse in November 2020. We rarely get the chance to have a just-us date on the town these days, so we went all out with cocktails, appetizer, and dessert along with our entrees. * Hummus plate appetizer (traditional and beet flavor). The traditional was a perfect blend with lemon and garlic wonderfully balanced! We loved it! * Shrimp and grits with sausage, greens, and mushrooms. This was a tasty dish, and I like the tomato broth and andouille sausage with the shrimp. * Black and blue salad (lots of blue cheese). My husband had thought about getting a burger but was really pleased he got this instead. * The turtle cheesecake has a brownie crust! The picture doesn't do it justice, it was huge! My dad asked me to bring back a second order for him because he loves this cheesecake so much. It's decadent and delicious. The staff was great. The tables were spaced well apart. The atmosphere was "hipster," as my mom called it, though I would call it more "industrial chic on a medium budget." The menu has good variety, there are TVs for watching the game, and there is some patio seating. I'm sure everyone here could find something to enjoy.

Yelp
Please make sure to get a dedicated french fry frier, and DO NOT let it share oil with another frier. You have lots of gluten free clientel, and getting fries is a must for many who suffer from gluten allergies. If you are gluten AND dairy free, bring your own sides, as most sides either have gluten, or dairy, or are cross contaminated with gluten. Ending on a positive, the service here is great.

Yelp
Another Yelp win! We were at Big Canoe & looking for a good lunch after we headed back home. Found Old Mulehouse on Yelp & decided to check it out after reading the reviews. This was a great lunch all around - huge space inside & nice-sized covered patio outside. We opted for outside. The star of the lunch was the Southern Rueben - brisket, pimento cheese & chow chow on texas toast. OMG outstanding! The house-made hummus was very good & came with veggies & warmed pita triangles. The strawberry salad was a nice, light option & was perfectly dressed with a key lime dressing. The gyro was also very good. Black bean burger was good - but needed a sauce to add a little pop to it. The beer list was extensive with lots of Georgia-produced beers. Service was friendly & attentive. Would definitely come back here if I'm in the Jasper area again.

Yelp
After our tour through the highlands we descended into Jasper hungry for some grub and a couple of Brews. Nice brick restaurant and bar seated (socially distanced) and it was relatively empty of patrons. I ordered fish and chips. Nicole had a burger. Both dishes were good but on the smallish side so we had to order a third dish and chose a steak Caesar salad, which we shared. We paired our meals with a couple of IPAs. All in all, a little pricey but the atmosphere more than makes up for it. Next time we are here we will stick to drinks. This definitely has more of a bar vibe. I'd really like to try one of their Mule drinks.

Yelp
Had a nice lunch here today. Home style cooking. The meat loaf, mashed potatoes and green beans were very good. Service was really good as well. Definitely recommend this place for a nice casual meal.

Yelp
Amazing salads, drinks & service! We will definitely go back! Highly recommended them for Sunday brunch.

Yelp
Even though the outside of this building in downtown Jasper is somewhat non-descript, the interior is open and super cool. They also have an outdoor dining deck and tonight they had some great live music. We had the buffalo pork belly sandwich with a side of ginger carrots and a black bean burger with a side of Grecian potatoes. The pork belly sandwich was outstanding, full of juicy pork flavor with just the right amount of buffalo sauce space. The ginger carrots were lacking, I believe because they were simply overcooked. The black bean burger was solid and the Grecian potatoes were just ok. Apx 20 beers on tap and lots of choice cocktails. Sorry, no food pic as we were starved and I forgot!

Yelp
Excellent food. Good entertainment. ......and the staff? Exceptional. It's a great experience in Jasper. Our server, Olivia, was so nice, efficient and attentive. The ambiance is great. We've eaten at the Mulehouse at weekday lunch, weekend brunch and evening. All teriffic. I'd highly recommend the restaurant.

Yelp
This restaurant is disguised as a trendy, moody place to dine. We were convinced before dealing with wait staff and hostesses. We put in our name, waited for a table, but upon notifying the hostess of the text we received saying our table was ready, the hostess replied "you'll need a reservation" my husband and I were so confused. We reminded them of the table we requested and they were reluctant to give it. We got a table inside which was the opposite of what we initially requested. The table was directly in between 2 other parties rather than seating us at a table caddy corner as a courtesy. There were soooo many other tables without a reserved plaque on them. So we were confused by that as well. So we asked again to sit outside. The hostess stared at us blankly and walked to the other hostesses at the front to ask for permission to move us. We stood there for a moment as the whispered to each other. We were guided to the patio carrying our own menus and silverware and were seated DIRECTLY in front of the speaker for the live band. There were other tables open... so we didn't understand that. We were greeted by our waitress but after several minutes without her taking our drink requests, we left. We were looking forward to a nice dinner and even intended on getting dessert here after our meal but it was spoiled by the lack of communication and courtesy toward our dining experience.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and very friendly staff that made us feel welcomed! The hostesses greeted us with a smile and welcomed us as we were visitors from out of town. Our waitress (Mariana) was so sweet and gave detailed recommendations that were so helpful for our first visit. The food tasted fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious - we ate every last bite! The whipped feta appetizer is a MUST and was a refreshing way to start our meal alongside the yummy drinks. The peach mule and the skinny margarita were both the perfect balance of sweet & tangy which complimented the entire meal. The entrees were a good portion size and seasoned wonderfully. We love how you can substitute sides with no up charge and choose from a variety of unique options. We can't wait to come back and visit soon!

Yelp
The Old Mule House in Jasper Georgia was an utter disappointment. The only mouthwatering food they serve up is the pictures posted on their website. Unfortunately, we fell for it, and we were deceived. First up! Fish&Chips! The Fish & Chips can be summarized as greasy, soggy, undercooked, and tasteless. My goodness, do they taste the food they serve to their customers? The Mule Old House shows you cut potatoes in the picture on the internet, but we were served day-old french fries that tasted like I just described them. Is that not "bate-and-switch"? I am starting to get it now, the "Chief" was a used car salesman last week. Well, that is not the only clunker we overpaid for. The Steak Frites were ordered medium rare. What we were served was a heap of well-done something, thrown in a not-so-pleasant pile on a plate with a small amount of chimichurri sauce slathered on top along with the same old day-old fries that they served with the soggy Fish & Chips. So delicious looking on the website, but so disgusting when ordered. That was not the end of The Old Mulehouse's assault on the culinary world. We ordered more! The Alfredo Pasta with shrimp was next. Overcooked, hard shrimp was served with a watery white sauce which we will assume was their poor rendition of Alfredo sauce along with their wonderfully overcooked macaroni elbows. The silver lining? They spared us the day-old fries! If you are hankering for a culinary beating that you will not soon forget, then visit The Old Mulehouse and take their abuse. But, if you want something better, go to Walmart and visit the frozen food section! It will taste better I am sure.

Yelp
One of my favorite experiences. I put it on my short list to take friends and visitors to. Wish I lived closer. The food was super good and the service and ambiance were great.
