"The Old Pro, a Palo Alto sports bar that opened in 1964 but shut down last year, will be revived by restaurateur Guillaume Bienaimé, who owns Zola and BarZola also in Palo Alto. Bienaimé tells Palo Alto Online he hopes to reopen the bar in the spot at 541 Ramona Street, but will update the menu to include a burger and a steak in addition to bar snacks. Sad news for fans: he does not plan to bring back the bar’s mechanical bull, Bucky." - Lauren Saria

Service was really slow before & after the meal. The pizza was really good & hot, everything else was cold. They brought out appetizers with the entrees. The do it yourself smores were fun.

Fun place to watch sports or have a casual night out with friends. Food is decent and better than similar places, like Rose and Crown. Beer is good but I would stay away from cocktails (e.g. margaritas). Overall, one of the better pubs in Palo Alto (even though the bar is low) and recommended.

I submit to you the humble brussel sprout. Long mired in the hatred of 7yr old dinner attendees, the brussel sprout is being rebranded. While not your usually considered barroom "bell of the ball", this redressed cabbage has donned new stilletos to find itself a sexy new appeal. I have tasted this likeness for myself and have to say that Old Pro has lived up to it's namesake. Nay I say the new bar food? The portion size is ample and the flavor is succulent. Pair with the scrimshaw as you watch the many screens or the occasional bull-rider.

It's ok. Menu is not very interesting and not enough veggieterian options but overall an ok place for a beer with friends. The main plus is the location which is quite central. The veggie pizza is not bad. Wouldn't mind coming again but would pick a different spot given the choice.

Went in for happy hour on Friday. Ordered pulled pork tacos, buffalo wings and Jack Daniels and coke drinks ($11 each). Food was ok. Service was ok.

I came here to watch the warriors game. We sat a table and eventually went to the bar to order drinks because no one came to our table. We opened a tab at the bar because there was no waitress. Eventually a waitress came to our table and told us to close the tab at the bar and open one up through her. We said we’d just go to the bar to order and she said if we do that we need to sit at the bar and not at tables. We then got a text from our bank asking about charges because they billed an authorization charge of $100. She also took my drink before it was finished.

Amazing vibe. Great for small and large groups. Amazing (limited) outdoor sitting area with fire pits.

Amazing ambiance to catch a sports game along with appetizers and a few cold draft beers with friends. Pictured is the Margherita pizza.
