The Old Warsaw

A very classy spot with a good fixed menu option. I thought the crab cake was very salty. The other seafood was excellent. Steaks cooked to perfection. The dessert was not good. I tried the apple pie and the peach cobbler. Both lacked flavor and the ice-cream had freezer burn. I think that was the first time in my life I haven't finished a dessert.

Still pretty nice place. As a client of the old Warsaw in Fair Park its good to see them still hanging in here. Good quiet place for a good meal, good service and reasonable prices.

Beautiful dining room with exactly the atmosphere one would come to expect from an establishment such as this, further enhanced by the talent, sophistication, and fitting character of Gregory, the pianist. Excellent wine list and dinner menus - suitable for every member of the party. The three-course meal was suitably filling, and the service was timely and polite. They did well to accommodate those of us with allergies as well - while not explicity stated in the menu, the waitstaff was very helpful in ensuring everyone enjoyed a satisfactory meal. Our steaks were prepared exactly to our liking. The presentation was quite good, but taste and quality took priority, something I can very much appreciate. Great care was put into ingredient selection and preparation, and every course was well enjoyed. For the price, this easily makes my list of favorites in the DFW area, and I plan to return again soon. Thank you for the wonderful experience and delicious food!

This was my first time here and everything was great. The staff were friendly, the food was 10/10 and the restaurant was classy. I really enjoyed my birthday.

Made a reservation for our anniversary dinner. As we arrived the manager asked me to remove my hat. I’m aware of the “no hat” rule but this was not a ball cap. I was wearing boots, jeans and a felt cowboy hat. Last I checked we are in Texas. I completely understand if it were a ball cap but a cowboy hat? No. We just left. Went to the Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse in downtown and the service was way better. We actually felt welcomed.

1-Star Review: Extremely Disappointing Experience – Do Not Recommend We had high hopes for The Old Warsaw, given its long history as a Dallas institution, but our recent visit was a complete letdown from start to finish. Parking was a nightmare – no valet service, and the lot was so tight it was nearly impossible to maneuver without risking damage to our car. We arrived on time for our reservation, but no one greeted or seated us. We stood around waiting until someone finally approached, and the greeting lacked any warmth or hospitality – it felt cold and unwelcoming. The seating arrangement was odd, with tables facing a piano that had no pianist playing, making the setup feel pointless and awkward. The bar area was strangely empty and appeared unattended the entire time. Our server came to take drink orders but provided no drink menu. When one eventually arrived, it was a cheap, worn-out laminated sheet that looked like it had seen better decades. Worse, there was no proper wine list – we had no idea what wines were available or their prices, which is unacceptable for a place billing itself as fine dining. The real breaking point: We waited over an hour for our appetizers with no updates or apologies. When we finally told the manager we were leaving, his response was a rude “ok, just go” – no effort to apologize, resolve the issue, or even speak with us. Absolutely shocking lack of care. We left hungry and frustrated after wasting our evening. Steakhouses are everywhere in Dallas, and many deliver far better service, atmosphere, and value. I strongly do not recommend The Old Warsaw to anyone – save your time and money for somewhere that actually cares about guests.

My family and I have been going here for years, and for good reason! The food is always very delicious, and I absolutely love the vibe of the place. Sometimes there's live piano music, which makes the dining experience even more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend the Beef Wellington; I tried it for the first time here and it was absolutely amazing! The red velvet cake is also the best I've ever had. 10/10!

Absolutely delicious and a beautiful atmosphere. Very laid back, quiet and upscale. The food is phenomenal as well as the staff. I would highly recommend.

I have heard about this place for quite a while and finally found an opportunity to stop in, though unfortunately just for an appetizer and a drink. The tartare was generously sized and totally delicious. The interior of the place is very cool and old-school. The only reason I only gave four stars is it was mostly empty in there and there was no music playing or anything. It was so quiet that every time the refrigerator is behind the bar clicked on it was almost startling. It's a bit disconcerting to eat in total silence. That said I'm excited to return and do an entire prix fixe menu.

As they say, "There ain't no school like the old school". When you are one of the oldest steakhouses in Dallas and still packing them in, you must be doing something right! You want a piano or violin player taking requests, hit them with the old school stuff, and you'll be entertained all night! You want a Beef Wellington as good as Ramsey's, you'll find it here! You want a ribeye that melts in your mouth, you've found it! The food is a great value, and excellently prepared! The cocktails are a bit expensive, but they do pour liberally, so it kinda works itself out! The service is out of this world, and you will want for nothing! I do not recommend trying this place in jeans and baseball hats, or the typical "Mark Cuban casual" if you really want the best service. Show some class... men will be in jackets, ladies will be in dresses, and you should respect the kind of place this is. The burger joint is within walking distance. I can easily recommend the Pre fixe II menu, as you can choose from either menu. We shared the strawberries crepe suzette, and I thought we were going to burn the place down... she put on an extraordinary show! The crepes were a little thick, but now we are nitpicking! Come expecting to spend a little money, spend a little time, leave your phone in the car, and have a GREAT NIGHT! 5 STARS because Old school is Best!

Walking in felt like old world elegance. White table cloths, chandeliers above the bar, low lighting and a piano player playing classics just added to the whole experience. We ordered off the pre fixe menu. Menu I is $55 menu II is $75. You can also just order off the regular menu. We had French onion soup, light and mild flavor while husband had spinach salad. The beef Wellington was the reason for the visit and it did not disappoint. He had the filet and it was also done to perfection. Dessert was cherry jubilee, and it was a true treat! Disappointed that the cherry jubilee has to be for two, because my husband had wanted the key lime pie, so he was not able to order his own dessert even though he ordered off of the pre fixe menu that includes a dessert. The staff was top notch and attentive to our table. Glasses never ran empty and plates were cleared quickly, before the next dish came out.

The food, service, and ambiance was top notch! Steaks and lobster were perfectly cooked. The service and drinks were impeccable. This is a hidden gem amongst the giants. Do drop in and enjoy a quiet, romantic, and beautiful experience!

Service was great, ambiance was very nice especially with the piano. Food was ok. Wellington dough wasn't cooked long enough and I ordered medium but it was more mid-rare/rare. Mushroom sauce was overly salty.

Came for a birthday dinner and left disappointed. We had a reservation for a Saturday night, but when we arrived, it was so empty it clearly wasn't necessary--only one other table was occupied. Oddly, the staff didn't even check our reservation; they just asked how many were in our party. About an hour later they came to our table to ask what name our reservation was under. The vibe felt more like a casual chain restaurant than the upscale experience we were expecting. Both servers were polite, but our's didn't seemed to know the menu very well. When we tried to order a bottle of wine, they offered us a discounted, already-open bottle of Barefoot. Once we realized what it was, we passed and just ordered a glass instead. Things didn't improve from there. A bug got into one of our drinks, and I had to flag someone down to replace it since our server hadn't been by in a while. They brought a new cup but didn't seem to care much about the issue. Food-wise, nothing really landed. The spinach salad, goat cheese ball, and lobster bisque just weren't good, but we tried to make the best of it. While the pianist was playing, we started to take a short video and he pointed at us and said "no" in a really rude tone--as if we were misbehaving kids. If filming isn't allowed, a polite sign or heads-up would go a long way. It took over an hour to get our entrées. The Wellington tasted weirdly fried and just wasn't enjoyable. My filet, ordered medium rare, was totally overcooked--no pink at all. I had a few bites but couldn't finish it. We ended up asking for the manager and then the check and some boxes to take the food home for our dogs. The manager did comp the meal, which we appreciated, but at that point we were ready to leave. Unfortunately, this just wasn't the experience we were hoping for.

We were very excited to come and try this place and it was the biggest let down. I will say this place was very pretty & the steak was good! The fresh mozzarella and tomato starter would have been great if they didn't put RANCH on top of it. I have never seen that in all my years of cooking. The pan seared crab cake was delicious! Our main entrees were very good but they both came with onion rings, that wasn't even on the menu and they were not good. The tiramisu cake was so dry but the carrot cake was very moist. Our server was nice, but took almost 20 minutes to take our order. We wont be coming back & be careful if you decide to go!

We ate here Christmas Day and had their pre fixe menu at $70 per person. The fact that it was very empty should have been a clue as to what was going to come. First, the menu they posted online was not the menu at the restaurant. That's false advertising. We had the Goose Liver Pate and the Shrimp Cocktail. The Pate was okay but not great. What can I say about boiled shrimp. There were 4 medium sized shrimp in a small bowl with ice. There was a small container of cocktail sauce and another of tartare sauce. It was okay. Nothing special. Next we had the Prime Ribeye and the Beef Wellington. The Ribeye was supposed to be 16 oz but there's no way that it was that big. It was well seasoned and cooked to the right temperature. It was good but I would expect something much bigger for $70 per person. The mashed potatoes that came with it had no salt and were bland. The Beef Wellington was not good. The pastry surrounding the beef was totally raw. The meat inside was perfect but I couldn't get past the raw dough in my mouth. It was awful. The potatoes gratin side was super salty. Dessert was Black Forest Cake and Lemon Cake . They were low quality desserts purchased from a food wholesaler. The kind you can find at any casino buffet. Definitely not worth what they were charging. Go to Steve Fields instead.

My wife and I got here at 6 on a Friday night in December and had the entire place to ourselves until about 7! Very quiet, romantic ambiance. Gregory the pianist is absolutely amazing and a funny guy too. Servers were very attentive, water glass never got below half full nor did the wine glass. Food was outstanding. I had the 22oz prime ribeye, caviar and lobster bisque for appys and I had the blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Everything I had was amazing. Wife had the Wellington and I realized I may have ordered wrong, because it was out of this world. Good news is we'll be back and I'm getting the Wellington next time. The blueberry cobbler was better than her crème brûlée in my opinion.

We so enjoyed our experience at the Old Warsaw tonight! The atmosphere was amazing, food was great, and service was top notch. Can't wait until next time!

What a wonderful experience we had when we wandered into this place during our last visit to Dallas. The beauty and classic decor is the first thing that we noticed, when entering the hallway leading to the restaurant. We decided to sit at the bar and listen to the wonderful pianist that was playing that evening. The classical music was only made better by the fantastic service that we receiving. The owner offered a choice of two different wine special that evening. I chose the Pinot Noir which I greatly enjoyed. We also had the large escargot, which was very well done and was served in a very tasty and creamy butter sauce with bread. To end the evening we decided on the soufflé which was so well done, sweet, and fluffy. I will definitely visit this restaurant again during my next trip to Dallas.

Looking for a high end night out? Like live piano music? This is your place. We had a large group here for a birthday and everyone liked their food. There was a huge variety of things to eat at our table. I had a filet mignon and it was nice done. For dessert I got the soufflé and everyone was jealous. That is until the bananas foster came out. Everyone loves seeing food flambéed. Overall very nice upscale place. The only thing to be wary of is we were sat right next to the piano and it was very loud. While we enjoyed the live music we almost had to yell just to talk to the person next to us. Next time I would ask to sit farther away or for the pianist to play like background music instead of a soloist on stage.

tye Hubs and I were there last Thursday night. I'd never been and was surprised that we could walk in and get a table so easily. The waiter was very attentive and recommended an excellent wine. We had the ribeye and I had the salmon. Both were absolutely excellent. A piano player played all our requests. He played Gershwin, Dean Martin, Tommy Dorsey, and Glenn Miller. It was wonderful to really enjoy a meal, entertainment and ambiance and not be rushed.

Dining at the OLD WARSAW was beyond lovely!! The ambience, staff service,the sheer elegance of the restaurant was magical!! Now on to the food- EVERY SELECTION OUR TABLE OF 6 ORDERED WAS BEYOND-DELICIOUS! Steaks that one would cut with a butter knife...seafood cooked to perfection and excellent wine selections. I highly recommend this well priced restaurant! AND if you can book your dining experience the night their fabulous musician comes to play the piano..will be like dinner and a show!!

It's a very nice setting for a quiet dinner out. There was no wine list which is unusual for a restaurant that serves wine. The food was reasonably good and the server was nice but the pace was extremely slow for the dinner. I'm not sure I've ever seen entrees take that long.

I had not been there for many years. The ambiance is gone. It is much smaller place now, no dress code (expect shorts and t-shirts). Service was slow, and waiter had significant hearing impairment. Dover sole was the worst I have ever had. It may have been flounder. Food in general was average or less than average. I had dysentery the next day. I will never go back.

Outstanding service combined with magnificent atmosphere and food. It was an incredible experience that provided a true opportunity to enjoy a classical dining scene the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. At the end of my Grandmothers life she lived on m&m's, vodka and Marlboro lights. The Old Warsaw is a tired old restaurant that appears to be ending the same way. We walked in on a Saturday night and were awkwardly met by the bartender/waiter. We had a reservation and after he realized we had come in to eat , he lead us to our booth. He left us there for 10 minutes as he and the rest of the staff tended to the 2 other tables in the restaurant. He came back and said "I take drink order", I asked for menus. He came back and gave me one drink menu/ wine list. We ordered drinks and he was off. Let's be clear...I am not sure any one in the restaurant spoke English well. There was one wine list and it included a bad selection. Menu is tired...Food was bad, service was bad, so many bads....go read the trip advisor reviews as well as these. Avoid this place at all costs!!! Owner asked me to give him a good review...I would if it had been good. It's not.

TERRIBLE STEAK AND SEAFOOD SUPPLIER? We started going to the Old Warsaw 38 years ago. But it really has gone far downhill since they moved to their new location 9 years ago. We will not return. Our worst fine dining experience ever. I'm not sure how they stay in business. The owner is very awkward to say the least. Not caring at all about his customers. Hard to get any attention at all. Slow night, only 3 other tables seated in the two hours we were in there. So the owner was the waiter. He pushed the wine list at us immediately. (That's evidentally where they make their major profit - off of expensive bottles.) We said we're not sure yet, we had just sat down. So he walks away in a huff, taking the wine and cocktails list with him. We eventually got his attention 10-15 minutes later to get the drinks menu to order cocktails. Drinks were great. The appetizers were wonderful. Greek salad. Crab cakes. The pianist was wonderful. But the meal went way downhill after that. In 40 years of traveling & dining and writing restaurant reviews for several magazines, this was absolutely the worst steak ever. Prime ribeye. Not just typical marbling, but it was over 50% fat? I didn't realize when the steak arrived, since the table lighting was very dark, and the steak was covered in mushrooms, onions, dark sauce etc. Masking its appearance. It was truly inedible. I ate 3 bites where I could find steak meat - and not the huge globs of fat. He's using a very cheap supplier for his beef. Shame on him. We'd been there for two hours already, so I didn't take the time to send the steak back for a redo. I should have. But it was our anniversary, and I didn't want the commotion in front of my wife on her special night. Her salmon was very salted. Not good. (Maybe it was not fresh and he was hiding the taste. I don't know?) She only ate half of it. We had tiramisu and strawberry shortcake for dessert. The cakes were very dry (old, not freshly baked. Frozen?) literally too dry to get it down my throat easily. So both of the desserts were awful, we just some of the moister toppings only. This was not the traditional tiramisu with lady fingers like it used to be here, it was just dry cake. So we left, never to return again. Read the other reviews about Old Warsaw. I should have read the reviews beforehand - so that we had not wasted money and our time here on our anniversary.

The atmosphere was beautiful it's so romantic inside and out but unfortunately the food is so bland. For the price it wasn't worth it in any sense. Also the menu doesn't have descriptions on what you're ordering either. The service was good no complaints there This restaurant is so beautiful if they would improve their menu descriptions and seasoning the dishes it would be a great place to visit

I love love love this restaurant! New to Dallas and came here on a recommendation from my old neighbor in Boston citing it was the best steakhouse in Dallas! Ali was incredible and made our visit an absolute delight! The service was impeccable! I am so impressed! The ambiance was such a perfect mix of old world class and elegance with modern fresh and delicious takes on food! I'll be back many many times!!

Flew in from California to go to a favorite, reliably good classic restaurant like Old Warsaw. Love the vibe and atmosphere and while you expect a good steak in Texas this ribeye went to the next level. Worth a try and maybe it becomes your special one of a kind place. Al the owner and the gracious staff will give you service that makes you feel like VIPs.

37 year anniversary. I worked at Old Warsaw 45 years ago under Phil Vaccaro and chef Jean LaFont. Today...Reliable menu, food and drinks were spectacular.

Went for anniversary dinner. Love the old school ambiance, food was amazing with a piano player that played requests from memory. The entire experience was first class. They had wonderful intimate party rooms. Thinking it would be a great place for a rehearsal dinner or family get together. Will definitely go back.

My husband and I went for our anniversary dinner. This was not the place we expected to celebrate in. Regardless, we stayed and ate. It was quite disappointing as I was looking forward to a nice dinner all day. Sunday a lot of other places are closed so we tried this one; my husband said this had been around for years so he thought he would try this. I wish I had read the reviews before going. I would not go again unless I wasn't celebrating anything and just wanted to eat. But probably not bc I could just go to Texas Roadhouse or Dunstons steak house and get better service and food for the price. Sorry I did not like this place at all. Very disappointed in it for several reasons and just don't care to discuss I'm just upset about our special night. It was ok food but for $160 not so much. I could've cooked a better steak at home and better veggies. And we didn't get offered any coffee w desserts and wine cups were dirty

Unimpressed, tbh. First, there was no valet available on the night we went. No biggie, but slightly confusing upon arrival. Second, once we entered the restaurant there was literally no one to greet us or guide us on where to go. We just walked around aimlessly until some guy came from a side door and asked me my name. And then seated me. Okay.... The person that I assume was our waiter, was abrasive. "READY TO ORDER YET?" Geez. Haphazardly placed a bottle of wine on the table and tried to upsale us. The food was decent, at best. The salmon still had bones in it smh. Steak wasn't cook properly. Mac and cheese was overcooked and grainy. The baked goat cheese was pretty good, although overpowered with too much honey. Carrot cake was dry, but flavor was good. The ambiance was intimate and there were only 2 other couples in the restaurant. There was music playing on overhead speakers...kinda jazz/pop. Like Bruno Mars & Ed Sheeran. I wouldn't go out of my way to return here, unfortunately.

Fantastic live music, pianist played lovely pieces. I had a little bit of everything for dinner. My favorite was the Chilean sea bass 10/10. AMAZING wait staff and sweet owner. Would highly recommend!

This small restaurant is a real gem in Saint Thomas area. The ambiance is pleasant, restrained elegance, peace and quiet, and when we were there, at a pretty late hour of the evening, the place was sparsely attended, with a nice piano music in the background. The food is inspired by the French cuisine, with some add-ons to honor the regional tastes. Our party tried brie soup, which was very tasty, and sampled Lobster Thermidor, goose paté, steak tartar, and several other delicacies. Everything was very tasty, and service was impeccable. House wine was served without disclosure of the origin, but it was reasonably good match for our food choices (all we got from the waiter was that it was sourced in California). The soufflé chosen by all in our party was a very nice crescendo to a delectable meal. We are looking forward to a repeat visit.

It's wonderful to have a near perfect first experience. It's almost impossible for it to repeat with the second experience and The Old Warsaw is a unicorn that nails it every time. Tonight, I had the best key lime pie with the most delicious, buttery and flaky crust. I can't wait until my next visit.

Food, service and charm were all there. Wonderful meal and reasonable for a 5 star restaurant. We will go back! Highly recommend.

We had a retirement party here and definitely recommend for a private dining experience. We had a private room and $55 three course menu. The service was great and food was delicious.

Been wanting to try this place for a few years. I'm glad we finally gave it a try. I had the NY strip and the Old Warsaw Salad. The steak was delicious and very juicy. Had a great char and was cooked perfectly. My wife had the Beef Wellington and said that was delicious. For dessert, we had the Cherries Jubilee. It was my first time to ever have and it was also delicious. After dinner we went to the little neighborhood bar next door. That is a very cool spot for after dinner drinks

We had dinner on 7/19/2024 to celebrate my birthday! Our reservations were at 6p. Nobody was in the restaurant that early, so we had the whole place to ourselves, which was great!! We ordered a Cosmo and a White Russian which were very tasty and well prepared. Appetizers were Escargot and Salmon. Again very well prepared and the service was spot on. The mains were a 12oz. Pepper Steak and I had the Sea Bass. We shared both. Both were delicious!! Again Service was spot on. Not early, Not Late. Dessert was a Grand Marnier Soufflé and Crème Brule', which was just a tad too sweet! The place is old school, romantic, soft lighting, just classic!!! Loved it! I have been eating at this place since my early college days, when it was located on Cedar Springs. Still a lovely place to have a very nice unhurried dinner. And I got a piece of cake for my birthday!! Can't beat that!! Go check it out for yourself!!

I'd be embarrassed if I owned this place. This is how a $60 filet and lobster tail is sent out? Come on now. McDonald's pays more attention to their packaging this place. Just ridiculous for a "high end" restaurant to do this. The lobster tail was more of a lobster claw that had been cooked beyond recognition. The absolute worst takeoutexperience

Really enjoyed my dinner at The Old Warsaw last night. The Specialty salad and chocolate soufflé were divine. My steak was cooked perfectly. Live piano music was a real bonus. Looking forward to eating here again!

We were there Christmas Eve. We didn't get a beverage for 30 minutes. Service was very slow. I got an incorrect entree and was then asked if I would take Beef Wellington as it would take too long to cook steak. We were not offered any compensation or an apology. We will not go here again.

We had a beautiful experience at the old Warsaw on Sunday night Al the owner was very gracious in speaking with us about the restaurant and how he came to own it. the food was delicious. We had the salmon and the Caesar salad for two, serve tableside and for dessert, we had the cherries Jubilee which was such a treat for my daughter to experience a really great evening.

Dined here, party of 4, last weekend. Food was very good but they did not have several menu items including the Dover sole my wife wanted. They also did not have the wine we specifically came for, advertised on their website, Don Melchor Cabernet. The waiter convinced me to order the bone-in ribeye. The steak I received was delicious but it was not what I ordered. Ambiance was very nice, quiet and elegant. Owner said they have 2 websites but they only update 1. Go figure! The Facebook 20% discount on fixed price meals was not honored. The caviar and goose liver appetizers are microscopic in size. Overall very poor attention to detail.

We had a retirement dinner party there last night and it turned out fabulous! The atmosphere was welcoming, and the food was delicious! They have a private room toward the back that was perfect for this event. Talk to Al when you call about your next dinner. You will be glad you did!

We love experiencing the various iconic restaurants around the metroplex and were excited to try this establishment... until we arrived. The host and subsequent servers were awkward and felt more like inexperienced family members instead of the skilled servers you'd expect. The facility was incredibly dated, the temperature was stifling, and the table cloths were wrinkled as if they'd just come out of the dryer. The crab cake appetizer was soggy and comprised of the lowest quality product possible. My filet was tough (though I'll say my husband thought his NY strip was fine), and the deserts definitely came out of a box. AND the meal was just as expensive as a high-quality steakhouse. Incredibly disappointing)!

Lobster bisque: great flavor and texture. This bisque has more lobster in it than any other before. The consistency was perfect! Just thick enough, but not as thick as a gravy Shrimp cocktail: This is one of those items that I feel safe in ordering because there is little room to mess it up, but....I wasn't a fan of either of the sauces, but the kicker was that the shrimp didn't seem cooked? It was floppy and when biting into it, it didn't have a very cooked texture. Perhaps I should have also be weary because the shrimp was grey in color? Loaded baked potato: as you would expect Cheesecake: Light and great flavor. The shrimp cocktail experience was so poor that I'm not sure I'd ever go back.
