The Optimist

I stopped in because I had 12 hours to kill before my flight back to Singapore. The staff was delightful and helpful. Since they had just got their fall line in their options for hot and humid weather was slightly limited but everything I saw was beautiful. I will definitely come back and will also send my brother, who lives in LA, to get his wardrobe updated. Check them out.

They have nice clothes, but terrible customer service. Their stuff is ultra expensive, but they treat customers like it's a Ross, actually that's not fair; I had a much more pleasant experience returning items to Ross recently). Do yourself a favor and stick to Nordstrom or Saks for this type of clothing.

Went to buy a gift for my partner and during checkout, was told there would be a launch party event a few days later. I told them I was from the area and they never mentioned the item I was purchasing would be on sale for 20% off literally days later. My partner went to the launch to see if they could at least get the difference in store credit and was met with incredulous stares and utter rudeness. You would think these people would at least try to convince us to come back? I will never be shopping here again.

Just bought a pair of linen pants at the main store. Then discovered they have a beach store next door and found linen pants I like better. Went back to the main store to return the pants I had literally just purchased. Sales clerk had attitude….would not let me return the pants because apparently they have a no return policy. Was not informed of the no return policy at time of purchase. You would think someone with good customer service would allow you to make a return 5 minutes after the purchase, but nope. Won’t be shopping here again. Not optimistic about the future of this store.

I love the range of options at The Optimist & it has quickly become my go-to spot for gifting.They are always ready to assist, offering kind and knowledgeable advice about the brands they carry. Highly recommend!

Gorgeous items, wonderful staff. I go here every year to buy my husband, brother and Dad gifts for Christmas and birthdays because the selection is excellent and they make a "chore" feel like a fun experience!

I bought some clothes here and they had a 20% off sale on the entire store less than a week later. They wouldn’t return the difference and even worse the staff were rude. Wouldn’t recommend anyone shopping here.

Unsure if I was negged into a sale or if it was just a genuinely bad experience. Overall great selection but would recommend shopping online or finding your favorite pieces elsewhere. I really wanted to like this store but may not return :(
