RHS Chelsea Flower Show

"The old stucco-fronted Orange Brewery is as charming place. If you’ve booked, you’ll be seated in the sedate upstairs dining room; otherwise look for a spot in the lively bar. The menu is centred around British classics and the wheat-based pizzas with toppings such as bresaola, taleggio and pesto are a speciality." - The MICHELIN Guide UK Editorial Team

I recently dined at The Orange, an Italian restaurant in Okinawa, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. While the ambiance was delightful, the quality of the food and service fell short of expectations. ## Ambiance First, let me highlight the positive aspect: the environment. The Orange boasts a charming decor that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior is stylishly designed, with comfortable seating and a cozy vibe that makes it a pleasant place to relax. Whether you're on a romantic date or enjoying a meal with friends, the setting is enjoyable and conducive to a good time. ## Food Quality However, the food itself was a significant disappointment. I found the dishes to be tasteless and, regrettably, overcooked. Italian cuisine is known for its bold flavors and fresh ingredients, but my meal lacked both. The pasta was mushy, and the sauces felt bland, failing to deliver the vibrant taste one would expect from a quality Italian restaurant. It was disheartening to experience such a lack of flavor, especially when dining out. Additionally, the presentation of the dishes didn't compensate for the flavor issues. While the meals looked decent at first glance, the taste simply did not match the appeal. I had anticipated a memorable culinary experience, but what I received was far from it. ## Service Speed Another downside was the slow service. We waited quite a while for our food to arrive, which was frustrating. It felt as though the restaurant was understaffed or that the kitchen was struggling to keep up with orders. For a dining experience, timely service is crucial, and the delays added to the disappointment of the meal. It's tough to enjoy a nice evening out when you are left waiting for your food for an extended period. ## Value for Money Given the quality of the food and the service, I couldn’t help but feel that The Orange was not worth the money. Dining out is an investment in both time and money, and I expected a level of quality that matched the prices on the menu. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t deliver on that front. For the cost, I would have expected much better food and service. ## Conclusion In conclusion, while The Orange offers a lovely atmosphere perfect for dining, the lack of flavorful food and slow service overshadowed any positives. It’s disappointing when a restaurant has the potential to be great but falls short in critical areas. I hope the management takes this feedback to heart and works on improving their offerings. Until then, I cannot recommend The Orange for those looking for a satisfying Italian dining experience in Okinawa. There are certainly better options available that deliver both in taste and service.

This restaurant is located in the Kafuu Resort Condotel. There is plenty of parking in the hotel lots. We have come here for a multi-course dinner and for their lunch buffet. Both meals were exquisite and reasonably priced. I made reservations for dinner and we just showed up for lunch with no reservations and were seated easily. The multi course meal allowed you to pick your entree with accompanying courses of fish, pasta, bread and dessert. Each dish was absolutely delicious and culminated in both of us feeling full, pampered, and satisfied. Our first course was a fried Italian bread, followed by a delicate fish dish, mentaiko cream pasta, another grilled fish, steak, and dessert. The lunch buffet has a large assortment of salads, sides, roast beef, and dessert, along with a menu of pastas that are made to order (you can order as many plates as you like). All were incredibly delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion.

Lunch buffet on weekday for 2400 yen was good deal. 8 pasta to choose from and they are all great. Well presented with high quality ingredients and pasta. Gorgonzola gnocchi and uni risotto stood out most. Portions are small so you can try them all and order as many as you like within 90 min window. Appetizers/salad/dessert bar was also great. Free cold drinks and coffee/tea also included. The outdoor covered patio has great ocean view. Inside tables actually feel a bit tight.

Amazing food and place. It's almost a fine dinning restaurant to some standards but you don't pay that high price. Silver was polished, course display was great and service timing was good. We ordered the course meals and they did a good job with putting both meals out at the same time for all 5 courses. All plate display were good and clean.

I was able to procure a free lunch for two from the owner, it was a give away. My husband and I got to the resort pretty easy, parking was simple, and the staff was welcoming. Upon arrival I let the chef know we were vegan and he offered the vegan meal option. We enjoyed every bite and thoroughly enjoyed the view as well. We will definitely be returning to eat as well as stay at the beautiful hotel.

Unreal service, beautiful view, delicious Italian food. Went for dinner & would recommend ordering family style as the portions are designed that way and priced accordingly. Everything we had was outstanding.

The Orange is a beautiful restaurant on the first floor of Kafuu Hotel Fuchaku. Serves Japanese-American fusion buffet breakfast, Italian inspired lunch, and Japanese-Italian fusion dinner.

The food was impeccable. Service was super kind and attentive. It is not very allergen friendly, so please be aware. They cannot make accommodations easily. The view is beautiful. The hotel is super nice.
