The atmosphere may be one of the best in Springfield. And the server did an amazing job. But the menu was extremely limited. There were only eight options for entrées and they were very expensive and had strange twist to them. We don’t mind paying 50 or $60 a plate, but we want it to be good and to have several options. You have to pay for the bread service And strangely they are like Nazis when it comes to changing out the sides that come with your entrée. They forbid switching out even a side dish from another entrée for your entrée. It’s really strange. I’m glad we had this restaurant, but I doubt we’ll be going back to it. Flame and char have more options.

Google
This is a really fantastic restaurant! I appreciate the use of local ingredients and the opportunity to eat foods that I might not usually order. It always excels and exceeds my expectations! Also, the drinks are unique (Pink Pony Club pictured) and for those Smoked Old Fashioned lovers, stop looking, they have the best in Springfield.

Google
Really nice meal, very good service, would go back! A Thursday night, it was early, so we received really good, personal and active service. Food was hot and fresh, and really well prepared. Menu is not huge, but has decent variety, some nice pasta dishes, salads are not complex but fresh and well prepared. We had two pasta dishes, and they were really well seasoned, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Cocktails were reasonably priced and nicely done.

Google
Reservations recommended. Fantastic staff that is kind, helpful and friendly. Pleasant, warm and intimate atmosphere. Seating is limited but there is also a bar. The Buttonwood Chicken was amazing. The White Sweet Potato Pear Soup was delicious. The Bread Service was very tasty.

Google
Their menu is short and straight to the point offering brunch on the weekends! So many great options to choose from! We started off with coffee and bottomless mimosas. They gave us 3 options for the juice: orange, pineapple and grapefruit. We went with pineapple and orange, both delicious. I was craving poached eggs so I ordered the Shakahuka, which came with 2 poached eggs, focaccia, crême fraiche, and radish micro greens. The eggs were poached to perfection!! My husband ordered biscuits and gravy, as well as brioche French toast to share. The French toast came with blueberries, walnut crumble, spiced maple syrup, and was topped with candied orange slices. The presentations of each dish deserved a review of their own! Everything tasted absolutely amazing and flavorful that our plates were sparkling clean by the time we were done. Their service was fast and the staff friendly and attentive. You couldn't even tell you were in the Vantage hotel, half way through our meal we even had some live music playing! Overall an absolutely fantastic experience, definitely a must for brunch in Springfield!

Google
This restaurant has some deliciousness hidden behind its small seating availability. Sitting down, I was not sure what all we would be getting ourselves into with eating in the hotel restaurant, but my goodness, they pump out some serious food. The selection they have for spirits are out of this world and are fairly priced. Some of their wine has some large overhead for pricing, but that is fine and understandable. The food and cocktails are worth the visit, and I suggest you try this place out if in town. They are hyper-local, which is always great to find a place that supports their community.

Google
Food was very good. Server wasn’t very attentive and was off talking to coworkers at times when we needed assistance. The Wagu Burger was amazing and the homemade ketchup was a must, do not pass on it. The cashew chicken was a really great take on a Springfield classic. I would order again. Make sure you get the bread service. The smoked old fashion was great!

Danielle G.

Google
Pretty nice bar experience. We didn’t eat a full meal here but had some appetizers with our drinks. The drinks are very strong and boozy. The appetizers were pretty good. The cashew chicken was honestly so good and crispy. Bartenders know how to make awesome drinks!

Yelp
The food and drinks were so wonderful. We were a very large party, so we had a reservation for 3 tables. Unfortunately the server for my table openly disliked us, and made that very clear. We were a large table in wigs. Yes, that might look like your nightmare, but this is your job and we were sober, cordial, and half of us work in the industry and have been in your shoes. I'm so disappointed a wonderful restaurant like this had only you to serve otherwise grateful guests.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious - just wow. First time in and the menu is excellent. Ill be in town for a few night and I will certainly be back to try more of this amazing food. My server Josh was a perfect gentleman.

Yelp
Wasn't impressed. The ambiance is ok. The food was overpriced for the quality. Lacked flavor and was overall boring. I forgot to take photos of everything.

Yelp
Review on The Order Springfield cashew chicken- delicious. It is not traditional thick light brown cashew chicken sauce like Hong Kong inn from the 90s. It's a pretty thin sauce, a little bit sweet, very slight spice. I assumed it would come with rice, it did not. My fault, I should have asked. Being gluten free,, I called ahead to ask the usual questions, Nicole was sooooo helpful. She asked the chef a few questions and then actually had him get on the phone with me. Chicken is fried in dedicated fryer, good portions, i will get at least one more meal, if not two. 10/10. I will 100% order it again, next time I will order a side of rice and an extra side of the sauce because it's that good. Fan for life.

Matt R.

Yelp
It took 45 minuets to get our drinks. I paid $42 for two tiny pieces of walleye and hush puppies that were raw inside. Not happy with the experience.

Yelp
A colleague and I ain't here about two weeks ago. It was absolutely fabulous! All of the food and drinks we had were superb! This is definitely a gem! The ambience is very relaxing and comfortable. The noise level is very reasonable, and the service was outstanding. If I'm ever back in town, I will not hesitate to dine here again!

Yelp
Yes. Go here. Excellent drinks, excellent staff, excellent food. Had a salad and a couple drinks when I was on my own one of the nights we were in town. I sat at one of the high-top tables and enjoyed access to the wi-fi from the hotel while waiting for my items. I did the Dear Jessica drink - which is a must...and it has pumpkin spice, which I didn't think I could get this time of year - so win! For food I had the kale salad with trout. The flavor on the trout was a great match up to the vinaigrette dressing. I do find kale to be a touch chewy most times, but with the fish it was a good mix and obviously a healthier option. Staff was great. It was fun to watch them making the drinks behind the bar. There is very limited seating so be sure to call ahead of get in when they open as it can get busy later on. Overall: A+ A must try for anyone in the area - even if you aren't staying in the hotel!

Yelp
Had the burger, it was fantastic! Two patties was a little much but it was really melt-in-your-mouth. The fries were okay, definitely not bad! I'd order them again, but there didn't seem to be much other in terms of sides. Bread and butter was great too. It was quite expensive and the menu is very small. Lots of things you see in the yelp photos are from previous seasons. Service was a little slow but everyone we talked to was very kind and I'd definitely go back!

Yelp
Excellent dinner! Great atmosphere, food and service. Loved the butternut squash soup! Had yummy little pieces of toasted bread with it. My husband and I split the carbonara pasta with beef added. It was delicious! Our cousin had the duck and our other cousin had steak. Everyone was happy! Fun atmosphere in the lobby of the Vandivort Hotel. Loved the decor.

Ben W.

Yelp
This is the perfect date night spot. The drinks and atmosphere are amazing. The staff were friendly and attentive. You have to try the pot de crème with the brown butter crumble. So smooth and creamy and so delicious.

Yelp
This place is fabulous, truly. The vibes, the menu options, the service, and the food. First, the restaurant is in the lobby of Hotel Vandivort, which is gorgeous. We stayed overnight and went to the restaurant for brunch, but now I wish we also went for dinner the night before! Our brunch order consisted of Turkish egg, shakshuka, simple kids breakfast, a berry yogurt parfait and healthy grain pancakes. I thought the shakshuka had one note and wished for more of a fresh topping element like parsley or even some mint to cut through the tomato sauce. Husband said the flavor of Turkish egg was good, but it was definitely a heavy dish. The kids had healthy grain pancakes and a simple breakfast of eggs, bacon and toast. I loved the healthier pancake option, but it came topped with a scoop of butter the size of my fist. Believe it or not, the star of brunch was the yogurt parfait. Greek yogurt, chia seed, beet root powder, berries, honey, homemade granola...and it all sat inside a bowl made of pastry. It was like a yogurt pie cup. Amazingly beautiful, tasty and unique! Service was impeccable and overall menu options plus flavors were all elevated.

Yelp
The food wasn't overall bad, just not seasoned appropriately. Server was friendly. Took almost an hour to get our food. Was way overpriced, for sure would not go back. There are better places within walking distance of the hotel.

Yelp
Springfield is awash in fast food options. Finding a place that's not a chain is not easy here. The Order, off the lobby of the Hotel Vandivort, makes up for all of that. Brunch was incredibly good and I'll probably camp out here on my next visit to Springfield.

Yelp
Excellent food menu and service. Checks all the boxes, and fantastic bar too. Can't miss, must try

Yelp
We have been twice now, both times with different cooks, and the food is not up to par. We were there for date night and it took two hours even though we were seated immediately. The first time we went, the hush puppies were burnt and my boyfriends burger was a soggy mess with no flavor. The bill was $140. The second time we went my hush puppies were burnt, the fish was soggy and the celery sauce was overly sweet. My boyfriend ordered the pork tenderloin and was given duck, served with sweet potatoes that were hard in the middle. I bet the pork dish would have been delicious but we didnt get the chance to try it. Overall it was not a pleasant experience. We were hoping to give it another shot and we will sadly not be going back. The drinks were good and the service both times was phenomenal. If only the BOH lived up to the same standards as the FOH. If you are looking for a date night, steer clear of this place. If you are looking for good drinks and a chat, I would suggest this place if everywhere else was closed.

Yelp
The Order: a lovely venue offering bespoke libations and a rotating chef's menu, propped by a world class bottle selection. Our server, Ryan, made our experience unforgettable -- I look forward to the pleasure of dining again!

Yelp
We stopped in for cocktails which were delicious. The place was inside of a hotel and pretty empty. Overall we had a nice time and enjoyed our drinks. We would likely go back to try some food.

Yelp
The restaurant in this boutique hotel is as wonderful as the hotel itself. We ate lunch here and even though my market salad with fruit was so-so (please improve that dressing), the bruschetta was outstanding and the chocolate bread pudding even better! The ambience and chic décor is noteworthy. Check out the little pet station near the front desk. :) The next morning, I only had time to get breakfast to go, and the server was awesome(!) because he knew I was running late. Eggs Benedict obviously aren't the ideal to-go item but the chef made it work, really appreciated it!

Yelp
The food options have gone downhill since they opened. The last two times I've gone with friends there have been almost no vegetarian options. They change the menu regularly so that might have changed, but I have been let down the last few times I've gone. Ambiance is great and the service is always good.
google avatar

Bobby D.

Yelp
Classy and stylish spot. Great great bar, and bartenders that know how to make a proper cocktail. The menu has plenty of options - from small plates to large - vegetarian to hunks of meat.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Vandivort for our wedding night. We began the following morning with brunch at The Order and it was absolutely delightful. We started off with Drunken French Toast Dippers. They are essentially a French toasted Hurts Donut, and they were amazing with the sauces. I ordered the Ozarks Benedict and my husband ordered the Biscuits & Gravy with SoMo potatoes. My breakfast was the absolute most delicious breakfast I have ever consumed. I finished all of it. The pork belly was perfect with the crunch and flake of the biscuit and the yolk of the poached eggs and the balanced saltiness of the gravy. It was rich but not overdone. Absolutely fantastic. His was great too, the best scrambled eggs he has ever had, he said. He ordered a GB Stout by Mother's Brewing and I ordered a pineapple mimosa. Those were the perfect pairings for our breakfasts. We started brunch around 9am, and we were the first ones in the restaurant area of the hotel. By the time we were done around 10:15 or so, there were a few more people sitting in the restaurant area. The ambiance is nice and service was attentive but not bothersome. All in all, a perfect brunch! I cannot wait to eat dinner at this place in the future!

Yelp
My family of 4 dined at The Order on New Years Eve for their 5 course Prix Fixe menu. The experience was really wonderful! Beginning with the food, both the Oyster Duo and Prawn and Tomato soup were original and absolutely delicious. The Butternut Caramelle Pasta was lovely with homemade noodles stuffed with ricotta. It was sweet which I really enjoyed and the noodles were chewy, like I like them. The Roasted Leg of Lamb was perfectly cooked and well seasoned, but the parsnips it was served with were a bit sour. Unfortunately, the Gateau Opera was a miss. The textures were all over the place and the flavor was too strong in espresso. The sauce it was served with was much too strong in alcohol. Besides the dessert, we really enjoyed the meal! We also did the wine pairing and they served nice, full pours and I really enjoyed all of the selections, although I wasn't a huge fan of the dessert drink. The service was really friendly although a little slow, but we heard there was a wedding they were also trying to service so I'm sure that made a huge impact. The decor is excellent and I love their dinnerware too. Would definitely join The Order again for dinner or NYE!
google avatar

Josh N.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch. The service was average and the food was surprisingly very bland. Not sure what happened? I expected the duck confit omelette and gravy to be very rich, it was not. They have some nice gluten free options. Overall I was satisfied but close to leaving 3 stars due to lack of flavor.

Yelp
Great service & ambiance, crab cakes Benedict was yummy! Live music was great! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Such a beautiful restaurant in an awesome location! The Order was the one place I knew I needed to try during my trip to Springfield and it did not disappoint. The Order is conveniently located inside Hotel Vandivort. When you walk into the hotel, the restaurant is directly to the left. I arrived at The Order around 1 pm for brunch. The restaurant was very slow with only 2 or 3 other people there. I was promptly greeted by the server. I ordered a mimosa and the Crab Cake Benedict. This was one of the best Eggs Benedict's I've had in a really long time (the crab cakes were the base of the Benedict and were incredible). Definitely my favorite brunch spot in Springfield!
google avatar

Ashley W.

Yelp
Good brunch spot, but nothing too special. Mostly came here to see the famous mirrors in the hotel, the food was a plus. Ordered eggs benedict, with a side a fruit. The best part was the mimosa!

Yelp
Yes .... I would recommend this place... Omg... try the scallops ... if you don't like it message me and I will pay for it.... Next is the cashew chicken!!! Just amazing .... They are so animal friendly... just love this place!!! Every time me and my fiancé eat there we are treated like family Devin our waitress was spectacular!! A bit expensive but sooo worth the food and experience!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Upscale and modern American food. Feels like something you would find on the west coast... The food was excellent (elote corn dip was INCREDIBLE) and the waitstaff was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Had dinner with my two teenagers and they loved the food as well. Nice wine selection. Clean building with beautiful modern decor. Waitstaff wore masks and were very safe. I would eat here every time I am in Springfield MO!

Yelp
Weekday breakfast menu is good but lacks pancakes and a kids menu. The prices are competitive, and at $2 coffee (reasonable!!! Especially for hotel coffee) plus a la carte, small sized and full entree options, this is a definite place to come back to. Biscuits and Gravy w/ eggs was delish. Biscuits were more muffin/crumpet like than traditional biscuit, but I enjoyed the crispy chewiness... The parfait was lovely as was the steel cut oatmeal! Also, Last night after checking in, my hubby ordered an amazing cocktail to savor in our room. It was so good we got another. the Smoked Old Fashioned - $11. It's made to Hollywood standards. Made from Missouri Spirits local bourbon, house made simple syrup and bitters, poured into a glass (prepared with captured fresh smoke) over a single rock ice cube and garnished with lightly flamed orange peel.
google avatar

Tania W.

Yelp
The crawfish hush puppies were bland with barely and crawfish to be found. I had the fish (mahi-mahi) and while the fish was cooked well, the potatoes and carrots were very undercooked. When I said that to the waitress she said everyone else liked it and dismissed it. It had a peppercorn crème on top of cold tomatoes and it was very awkward- didn't go with the plate. This must be for drunk clientele from the surrounding bars and not actual customers. We were also pushed on the desserts and check when my husband was still eating his entree.
google avatar

Rob C.

Yelp
I recommend the Order for semi special occasions. A bit small and more like a lobby cafe

Yelp
Enjoyed delightfully delicious food at The Order last night. The server, Emma, was so sweet and hospitable. Thank you, Emma for making my dinner such a positive experience! The Double Dip and Bao Buns were very tasty and had a lot of good flavors and textures. The Night Fall cocktail was sublime. There were just a few folks present while I dined there, but everyone was masked and socially distanced. I felt very safe eating there and the food prepared was of high quality.

Yelp
Lovely spot with delicious, unique food and drink. Colton was our server and did a fantastic job, was very attentive and gave great recommendations about the food and drink menus. We had the cauliflower bites and they were soooo tasty! Colton recommended the Mazzo Spritz cocktail for something with a tad of sweetness and it hit the spot. We finished things up with the Matcha Cheesecake which was delightful. We will be back!

Yelp
The Order sits inside the Vandevort hotel, and well worth a visit if you want my opinion. My sister and brother-in-law recommended it to us, and we are so so so glad they did! Started off with the bacon, onion and goat cheese rangoons, which was the perfect way to begin this most indulgent meal. Goodness, they were heavenly! Paired with a little blackberry smear, and oh my goodness; perfection! For entrees, I got the gnoochi in a basil crème sauce with fried leek, mushroom and grilled asparagus. Talk about comfort food! Pasta is always a go-to for me, and this was probably one of my most favorite pasta dishes of all time. The flavors were spot on, an excellent balance, and soooo good - even hubby couldn't keep his fork out of my bowl. Delicious! Hubby chose the quail and filet special with faro feta cheese risotto. All was cooked perfectly. Dessert was chocolate pot de crème for me (yum!) and a local Hurt's Donut bread pudding with (again, local) Askinosie chocolate ganache. Awesome way to end the meal, for sure! Since that first trip, we've already been back for a second trip - and once again, got the gnocchi which was just as good as the first time. The Order comes highly recommended to me, and I highly recommend it back to everyone. DO IT!

Yelp
Our service absolutely sucked. Took forever for him ti bring our drinks because he was too busy chatting with his friends at another table. I bought bottomless mimosas and instead he brought bottomless straight champagne. The food was delicious. Maybe another server would have made the experience much better.

Yelp
This last Sunday we went to Brunch at "The Order" the service was below standard an in fact was horrible. The food arrived cold and as there were 4 of us one guest did not receive his order well into the meal.. The management response was just as horrible gave us two comp drink tickets for a bill of $175.00, and 4 guests. SO TWO GUESTS ARE WITHOUT. Insane..then insult to injury One guest order Virgin Bloodly Mary's and it was referred to has "Lavender Ladies" on the ticket by the wait staff. A direct insult too, the 4 gay men who were having Brunch. the food was bad and service even worst..

Yelp
Caleb is the best bartender and I really loved the drinks he made for us. I will definitely be back and really enjoyed his energy and care for what he does! Cheers!

Yelp
Crab cake Benedict is Absolutely perfect ! Paired with a side of bacon and smoked salmon and of course coffee ethic. Great brunch !

Kelly R.

Yelp
The place needs a lesson in customer service. Anthony the host had horrible attitude and was extremely rude. The only thing good about this place was our server. Went for brunch to celebrate an early Thanksgiving with family who traveled from out of state to join us. We brought a cake with us and the Anthony us we would be charged a $25 fee for bringing an outside dessert for our son's birthday. I've never heard of a restaurant doing that. Food was just average. Two of us ordered gumbo. The chicken was cold. Very little flavor. Sent back the coffee twice because it wasn't hot. No apologies from Anthony about the food temp. Then we decided to cut into the cake to try it, server brought us plates but we served it ourselves. $25 for that? We should have kept the plates! When my husband told Anthony we were unhappy with the experience and the charge, he copped an attitude with my husband and told him to leave! 2 of us at the table work in the food industry and couldn't believe how rude he was. Meanwhile I've posted a pic of cake of the we brought from a fabulous baker in Branson.

Yelp
Food was very good, service was okay. We had eggs Benedict and would definitely visit this restaurant again.

Yelp
The Order is my favorite place to eat in Springfield because the food is always phenomenal and because the place is so versatile - great any time of day. I especially love it as a place to meet a friend for a few hours because there is plenty of seating, you can eat brunch or lunch (whichever you're in the mood for), and if you want to sit and chat before or after the meal you can sit in one of the private sitting areas in the hotel lobby and the bar staff will still serve you drinks. I also like it as a place to meet for a drink before dinner. It's casual enough that you don't have to dress up, but classy enough to go there for a date. It's also my favorite place for breakfast because there's never a wait (unlike most Springfield breakfast places). It's not the place for a classic (cheap) diner breakfast, but the brunch entrees are creative and everything I've tried has been delicious. For breakfast the shrimp and grits is my favorite, and I'm not even a big fan of shrimp. My husband's favorite is the Circle B Overload omelette with chorizo gravy. On the lunch menu the curry chicken salad is my favorite. There are plenty of options for anyone looking for a more traditional meal as well as someone looking to try something different. There are also lots of healthy options. I would appreciate a few more vegetarian options because I don't always feel like having meat, but the kitchen is usually willing to accommodate special requests if they can. It's definitely on the pricier side, but all the food is made from scratch and the meat is local. The craft cocktails are delicious as well - I always enjoy working my way through the rotating seasonal menu (I always ask for the dinner cocktail menu even at brunch!). And for brunch there's a Bloody Mary bar, too! I saw where one reviewer felt that the potions were small, but personally I like that they don't give you a bunch of bread and potatoes with your meal that cause you to overeat and come away feeling like crap. My husband and I both always feel that the potion side is perfect--we never leave still hungry.

Yelp
My friends and came for Sunday brunch before going to Lander's theater. The bunch was perfect. Food was delicious and service was excellent. We all loved it and will do it again.

Yelp
The food was amazing, drink specials were as awesome, bar tenders werw nice, but when it came to ordering food, the waiter could not handle the small room and we're dismissive of how he helped us with his service. Will say, he attempted to fix his neglect by a free round of drinks - but felt very "not important enough" to get it right and the food was kinda "thrown down" and plated in a very slap dash diner fashion. We are truckers, and definitely did not fit their normal client expectation, but know good service, and the waiter did not definatly treat us right. Other than that, food tasted and was awesome.

Roslyn T.

Yelp
My wife and I ate here for for a pre Valentine's Day celebration and we were not satisfied. We had the strip steak and the market fish which wasn't too bad until there was a hair found in her food. The service and ambiance was great and they also removed the fish meal from our ticket. I definitely do think this place could be much better considering the prices.
google avatar

Angela B.

Yelp
This really stylish restaurant is inside the Hotel Vandivort lobby in a hip part of town. The architecture in the lobby and throughout the restaurant is fresh and rustic modern. The food was great and has a wide variety of options for vegetarians and meat lovers. They were reasonably priced for lunch. I had the pick 2 with a salad and the jerk chicken for $9 it was more than enough to fill me up with leftovers. The only reason this place didn't get 5 stars was the service was slow and not very intuitive. I would definitely give this place another shot in hopes of better service.

Yelp
One of my absolute favorites in Springfield !!! The Kobe Burger is chef's kiss!!! Have not had a bad meal here once and have been eating at the Order for over several years. Please please please bring back brunch!!!

Yelp
I love this place. A great selection of spirits and a knowledgeable and helpful bar tending staff. The food is great too and there is a pretty varied menu. Plus the hotel is a wonderful boutique lodging great for visiting or business meetings.
