NO DOGS ALLOWED - Really frustrated with this market. Got there and there are signs that dogs are not welcome which is very unusual for a farmers market and put me and my group in a weird position because we had my puppy with us. Tried to do a quick sweep and other shoppers were extremely rude and making comments about the dog forcing us to leave and find another dog friendly market. Looked back and the only way to know ahead of time that it was not dog friendly was a small print section on a downloadable document on the website. The mere rudeness from shoppers and inability to take my dog based on a previous bad owner incident makes me plan to never return. How unfortunate because I enjoy supporting local farmers.

It is the original. They are open year round. Fruit, veggies, meat, bread, baked goods, honey, breakfast cooked right there in front of you, music to entertain, and great people selling and shopping. It's right across from the fire station (kids love fire trucks), in the church parking lot. Dogs aren't allowed so bring a friend to hold her while you shop. You can eat your breakfast together at one of the tables right there at the church outside of the Farmers Market. Parking is available on the street or across the street at another church. It's a great place to hangout for a bit, let the kids explore, eats farm fresh, literally, breakfast, get some great goodies for the week, and RELAX (it's the weekend). This Farmers Market is large enough to give you everything you need or want, and small enough to walk around and still keep an eye on your kids or quickly find a friend to compare your treasures. I love the breakfast omelet, the music is always good and sometimes really, really good. And the people are always friendly and fun. I walk there, but it is worth the drive, and then you can walk around a bit!

Picked up a string of pearls succulent, that I am in love with. As well as some fresh eggs and tomatoes. Always great vendors with a lot of variety.

Everyone was friendly and the produce looked amazing. I have never seen kale that big!!

Google
Best farmers market in the city and open year around. Period. **UPDATE** The market is on one side of the street now.

Google
The market was well presented and organized, free admission, and all the vendors were pleasant. The quality of all the products looked to be fantastic. The market was fairly small on the day I went, quite pricey, and had zero fruit for sale (exception of June Apples). Parking was OK.

Google
Looks small but there are so many lovely vendors. The produce is amazing. Such a great variety. I got this pretzel croissant and it was the best pretzel I have ever had. It was the best croissant I've ever had! Every person was kind and helpful

Yelp
We really enjoy going to this farmers market. It's small and usually crowded but there are always plenty of stuff to choose from. Everything we have ever brought home has always been good. Give this place a try and I think you'll like it too!!

Yelp
They really have the covid down. Social distance and mask wearing, along with hand sanitizer-it is great. The vendors are well spaced. Lots of great fresh veges available. I love this market...worth checking out

Yelp
Small and crowded and awesome. The granddaddy of local farmer's markets. Saturdays with summer hours 8-12, winter 10-12. If you can't walk here, park on Bardstown Road. Year-round greens, meats, eggs, jams, breads, flowers. Seasonal everything. Technically my third favorite local market after Douglass Loop (which is summers only) and New Albany across the river. But really, do you need stuff from 10 different farms? The solid core here always delivers, and at reasonable prices.

Yelp
I love this place. I've lived in other parts of the country that are more "Farmers Market" friendly than Louisville and was hoping to find a local market that rivaled those in other cities once I moved back. This place hits the spot. Teeming with fresh produce, bread, coffee, cheese, popcorn, and even massages for the truly weary, this place is a must-see treat on a Saturday morning. Well-behaved dogs and children are welcome alike. If you live in Louisville, add this place to your list of places to check out on the weekend!

Yelp
I love this Farmer's Market. It is small but you can find everything you need. Flowers, fruits, veggies, pastries, cheese, honey, herbs...AND local coffee plus the best omelette in town. I try to visit every week. I am at least here every other week. I love seeing familiar faces. They also have a kids day every other week! They give kids stickers, activity books, and often a $5 coupon to use at one of the booths. My niece and nephews love coming to shop and eat here.

Yelp
Don't judge this market by the small size! All summer long I had the tradition of waking up Saturday morning and heading over to the Deer Park Farmers Market for a fantastic omelet and then having the local tents of vendors to inspire my unique meals for the weekend. We have picked up fresh flowers in an attempt to arrange them, but I think I will let the professionals continue that skill. We have tried squash blossoms for the first time, we stuffed them with cheese and breaded them, delicious. We have picked up fresh baked breads and cheeses to make a quick party platter. We have tried rabbit and lamb sausage to mix our protein up in the kitchen. We have taken friendship bread with jam straight from the market purchase to a friend who was under the weather. We have even impressed a 19 year old teenager by taking them to the market, buying fresh fruit, then making a cobbler the same evening! There is always great music and an experience to try something new!

Yelp
I have been coming to this farmers market for years. Yes I live out of town, but come to Looh-vil every summer and never miss buying my delicious cheeses and soaps here! There is nothing more wonderful than to see the local farmers and the support that the community gives them. Everything is so fresh, so wonderful that it is a must do every Saturday. Last trip I bought a bit of Lavender in a little zip lock. Seriously funny when security at the airport opened my bag to see what it was. Just Lavender guys... no need to fret.

Yelp
The Bardstown Road Farmers' Market is a year round market right across from the Deer Park Baptist Church. It's not the biggest Farmer's market in the area (or even on Bardstown rd) but it's super fun. They always have a fun live band and neat vendors. I try to get my all my eggs there (because they are free range and delicious), but you can find soap, a meal, flowers, local honey, fresh veggies, and just enjoy the atmosphere. It can be a little hard to find parking, but if you're prepared to walk a few blocks it's usually not a problem.

Yelp
I've seen this market flourish over the years, and we've been getting our eggs exclusively from Duncan Farms for quite some time. It's year-round on Saturday mornings, although the hours are shorter in the bitter cold. A great selection of local meat, flowers, honey, cheese, veggies, and, of course, eggs. Another vendor I frequent is Summer Shade Soap. Their laundry detergent can't be beat, and I'm looking forward to trying their new liquid soaps. All natural, vegan, and great for your clothes and skin. It's worth the drive if you live in and around the Highlands to visit this Farmers' Market!

Yelp
I really enjoy the Bardstown Road Farmers Market. It's small, and often crowded, but that's ok because the merchandise is great! If you stop in here you'll have no problem finding some delicious fruit, vegetables, bread, meat, eggs, cheese, beautiful flowers, etc. I recommend stopping by both this market and Douglass Loop if you're in the area, but if you only make it to this one you'll still be just fine.

Yelp
I'm starting to think that besides the times, the main difference between this Bardstown Road market and the other one on Bardstown (Douglass Loop Farmers Market) is which bank is closest to you (where you can get cash). Both markets are fantastic in their own right with music, local produce and meats, omelet stands and more farm fresh goodies. Oh yeah, this market is located next to a Chase bank where as the Douglass Loop is near Fifth Third. Now we just need one near BB&T... Anyway, above is just rambles but the real deal about this farmers market can be summed up in a simple vignette of a tale about my trip here a few weeks ago on a mission to buy bacon which was the missing ingredient in my breakfast feast I had begun to cook at my apt a few blocks down the street. Hot sun beating down on me and the line of five people filed in front of me, we waited and waited but without impatience. The Dreamcatcher Farms tent was filled with coolers barely visible because of the combination of shade encompassing the tent and the UV rays flooding my vision (bad day to leave the Yelp glasses at home). On top of the table was a young girl with a flower in her hair held at first by her mother, who was purchasing a week's supply of various meats, and then she was handed over to Mr. Dreamcatcher Farms. Laughter, cooing, baby talk, etc. ensues and the line grows longer without complaint. Each person got their turn to ask questions like "what is the difference between this type of cut and that one"? and regulars shared their latest news freely. In other words, it was like watching big box grocery stores with their expedient conveyor belts jam packed with fluff "food" and no heart get a hard slap in the face.

Yelp
Its gotta be pretty good to get me up before noon. I visited this outdoor mini market this past Saturday with a few friends and I was really impressed. Just like other Yelpers said, it is small, but packed full of fresh vegetables, meats, honey, eggs, cheese, soap, coffee, breads, and even fresh omelettes! I was able to find everything that I was hoping to get, fresh duck eggs (6.00), fresh greens (I ended up paying about a dollar for a huge bag full of freshly washed salad greens), Summer Shade Soap (Baby Face soap, 9.50), a pound of fresh, organic clove honey (5.50), lots of honey sticks, (five for a dollar), amazing tomatoes (2 for a dollar) and lots more fresh, organic eatables. All of the vendors in attendance were friendly and happy to answer all questions. I will say, however, that a few of them seemed none too happy that I was only buying say, two tomatoes instead of six, or less than a pound of lettuce, but I won't let that take a star away, because honestly, that probably is a little annoying when a guest buy's a dollar worth of veggies. But, I don't cook a lot, and the last thing I want to do is buy product that will go bad on the counter. All in all: Don't let the size of this place discourage you. You can find pretty much everything you're looking for in a farmer's market (even succulent, savory duck breasts) and more for great prices and I can certainly attest to the freshness and quality of the products that I've purchased. I can't wait to put this into my weekly/biweekly routine! *Summer Shade soap is not always in attendance, contact their Facebook page for their booth whereabouts. **They don't stop in winter! They will be moving into an indoor space in December, contact their Facebook page for their location.

Yelp
Very good farmers market, good prices, nice vendors, fresh quality food. This would be a 5 star review except for the fact they don't allow dogs. The worst part is they claim it's for public safety.

Yelp
THE perfect way to start your saturday. Omelets made from farm fresh eggs, live music, warm local coffee?!?!?! My ideal perfect morning. Always very friendly people that are not shy to chat over their fresh produce and farms. Don't be afraid to ask questions, its always a good day to when you learn something new. Its hard to walk around on a cool saturday morning without cracking a smile; the atmosphere created from the freshly cooked omelets, live music, and friendly people give you that giddy/energetic feeling which always has me awaiting the following saturday.

Yelp
There was a farmer who had a dog, 'Til it got run over by a tractor... Ok...that's sad. Especially since I love dogs. But, there's nothing sad about this farmers market. Sure, it may be small. But, it isn't the size of the farmers market that matters, it's how the sellers use it! And the meats, and granola bars, and cheese, and breads, and, well...everything, is just magnificent. This should be on everyone's Saturday morning farmers market route (which should include this one, Douglas Loop and Beargrass Creek).

Yelp
Funnest bar you will ever go to! Make sure to go on Saturday night and watch the karaoke. They are good and it is awsome!

Yelp
I was visiting Louisville over this past weekend and went to go check out this market because the reviews were stellar. As soon as I walked into the parking lot where it was held, I was quickly approached by a lady informing me dogs were not allowed at the market. She said she had a tent at the end but f the lot where she watches people's dogs. I was very taken aback as I have never been to an open air market that does not allow furry friends. I'm not one to leave bad reviews, but after thinking about it for several days, I was still dwelling on it and thought others should have a heads up. I understand if it's for insurance purposes, but it's literally pop-up tents in what appeared to be a public lot. Vendors looked good so wish I could have checked it out, but not leaving my pup behind!

Yelp
Fresh food, great live music, and friendly faces! This was my first time here and I am so glad that I got up early to come! It is a small farmer's market, but there is plenty to choose from. Farm fresh veggies/fruits, flowers, honey, pickles, eggs, and more! They also have two stands that sell AMAZING baked goods! This morning, one of them was selling Mexican breakfast lasagna ($5) and Korean steamed buns ($3, which you could get with either pork or tofu). Both were amazing and the portions on the lasagna were HUGE! I also had an omelette from the omelette stand. I got all the veggies they had plus cheese. I smothered it in locally made pepper butter (sweet and spicy!) and it was good to go! $9 and you can load it up with anything you want! They also put a piece of pesto-smothered bread beneath it to catch all the omelette goodness. They also sell delicious green tea sweetened with locally made honey, and the watermelon lemonade from the cinnamon roll stand is awesome! Coming here really set the mood for my Saturday (in a good way ;)). Please stop by if you're in the area on a Saturday morning!

Yelp
When I arrive I can here the sound of the 2 musicians. They sound great with a country feel that fits perfects into the atmosphere. I order my Omlette (yes, I will have the goat cheese, please) and listen to them playing an oldie but goodie. Where else can you here Waylon Jennings "Amanda" while enjoying your fresh made goodies and shop for items to take home. I decide yes, I want the sunflowers, yes, I want cheese, are those home made jams? Of course there is plenty of fruits and veggies! Okra? Yes!
