I am a Denver native and Chubby's is a major part of my life, and has been for as long as I remember. My mother did nails at a salon across the street called 'Hairs to You' and I can remember being very young, like three or four, and sneaking into the break room in back to steal chili cheese fries from any plate left unattended, in one case I think I ate the majority of one of the stylists food, (horrible I know) but the flavor was just so amazing and clearly my mother had neglected feeding me lunch, and so began a lifelong love affair with the best chili cheese fries ever made. Fast forward to my early twenties and this became the go to place to start a night out getting drunk with my best friends, or even better, our 2am stop totally smashed crammed into the original tiny little building with like fifty other wasted people. The memories of that original location are so special and engrained in me for life. That's the only reason I give the new location three stars for atmosphere, because nothing will ever compare to that old ridiculously tiny building, with drunken lunatics fighting and screaming at each other literally pressed chest to back against me and my friends as we tried not to Laugh at the ridiculousness of the whole situation, and stood prepared to dodge in case any punches started flying. In all reality the new building is probably much better and more sanitary but getting those two plates stapled together when super drunk was a genuine gift from God. Nothing beats the chili cheese fries from Chubby's and if you have ever had them, what are you doing. Go. Now. Get up and go! You're missing out!
Are you still reading this? Oh my god! Go get them and stop!
And if you are visiting from out of town, you need to make this a priority destination because you have nothing like it where you are from, I guarantee that.
