The Detroit Coney was delicious. The bun was toasted perfectly, and it helped to keep the bun from getting soggy from the chili, which helped it stay together. The baked beans were really good as well loved. The Factory Loaded Fries were amazing. I loved that they added their hot dogs chopped into it. The chili was with the Try Me Sauce, which was a great choice. The bacon and cheese added into all of that was a great move for them. Also, the Fries were nice and crisp and didn't become overly soggy. The price is well worth what they are charging. If i had one complaint, it would be that it was slightly too warm inside, but it's a small place, so that's expected and easy to forgive. I can say that I will definitely be coming back here again.

What a great spot to visit in PA! The employees were very welcoming and kind. The location is quaint but a little difficult to find, compares to the surrounding area. The food was delicious!!! I loved the Chicago Dog and also got the corndog. My fiancé had the jerk hot dog and enjoyed it. Everything was made to order and fresh. Definitely want to visit again soon!

Google
Absolutely wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I've never been a general fan of hot dogs, but I love premium quality hot dogs with all of the possible toppings you could ever want. I ordered one of the custom hot dogs and had them add their in-house try me sauce which was absolutely amazing. I was unsure of how it tasted in. The even gave me a little sample before they put it on my hot dog to make sure I would like it. The restaurant itself has a nice feel and was very cozy. Even though I've never been there before, I didn't feel awkward or unwelcome. Easy ordering whether they take your order or you use the kiosk. The food itself was absolutely wonderful. When it came out and they handed it to me. I instantly knew I was in for a great experience. I took a few photos before I tore into it. In that first bite. I knew this was going to be a spot for me to come back many a times. It's only been about 20 minutes and I've already called five different people to let them know about this place. The pimento cheese paired with the bacon crumbles and try me sauce was Perfecto. 10/10 recommend.

Google
Saw the excellent reviews this place was getting and it did not disappoint! We had the New Yorker and Detroit Coney hot dogs which were amazing, and also couldn't help but order the deep-fried Oreos too as we'd never had them before. They were absolutely incredible and would go back just to eat them again. Then one of the owners said they do a deep-fried Twinky too. Well we couldn't refuse and just like everything else, it was sensational. The owners are absolutely awesome and super friendly people too. Cannot recommend this place highly enough!

Google
I ordered lemon pepper wings and I didn’t even taste the lemon pepper. Almost like they just did a little sprinkle. I have to remember that this is a hotdog spot. I will say the fries was really good but the wings is a no. Mines was soft wasn’t really crispy enough. As for the service they are good group of people. I wouldn’t mind eating there again. I’ll just pass on the wings.

My husband and I are 1st time customers at the Hot Dog Factory, we arrived right at closing, the staff member stated we are closed, I explained we traveled from York. The owner came over and said, "I will take care of y'all" the owner and the staff was very pleasant & professional they took our order with a smile. When we arrived home our food was still Hot and may I add Delicious, we were not disappointed. Thanks, Hot Dog Factory New Customer "The Dobbins"

Google
We stopped by for a quick lunch in Harrisburg, Pa. The hot dogs were delicious. Friendly, quick service at a great price! Definitely stop in! Dom and Maurice were behind the counter. Thanks for the hospitality.

Google
I ordered from doordash instead of calling me to let me know they were out of coleslaw, they just chose to give me fries. And they gave me half the amount of fries I would have gotten if I ordered fries. The hot dogs are barely poorly put together and too short for the bun. I only ordered here cuz The Original Hot Dog factory was closed. The pictures that they show for these hot dogs are only if you add extras to them. Will not be ordering here again.

Yelp
This place is where the old Flamingo Grille used to be. Hot dogs for dayyyyz. So many different versions of dogs, and bratwurst, sausage, or chicken dog if you don't want the original. I tried the Chicago dog, was really good. Definitely need a fork to eat it with. The combo was a good deal, came with fries and a drink. Not a huge dining area but just enough tables and bar seating during the after lunch rush. I'll be back to try other dogs and the chili cheese fries, they looked delicious.

Yelp
Great dogs and even better owners and servers. A fun selection based off Cities in the USA.

Yelp
Was in the Harrisburg area today and was craving some comfort food and this spot sure did not disappoint! As soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the owner, Rob, who clearly is passionate about his business. He took the time to go through their menu options with me to help me sift through all their wonderful hot dog options. The food is all cooked fresh and Rob even hooked me up with some of their specialty dipping sauce! Had some of their fried buffalo wings which were also delicious and I'd highly recommend. They're definitely spicy so be careful! The hot dog and burger were both so flavorful, and fairly priced. You can get a very substantial meal here for an affordable price. As I was leaving, I didn't even realize that the place had actually closed almost 20 minutes prior! I felt so awful that I may have held anyone up, but I would have never guessed as Rob seemed happy to chat with me and didn't make me feel rushed for even a second! That tells me this is a place that really values their customers and treats them well. I'll be back next time I'm in the area!

Yelp
Harrisburg is a City with issues, Expensive parking, higher then should be crime, People are bit of dicks most times. And while visually beautiful at places. Over all. its a third rate city. So usually you can't find anything extra worth while in such cities. You go to work there, and if you are lucky you get the hell out. But ever now and then. You find a pool of refreshing water in a swamp. And that's what The Original hot dog factory is... A gem in Mud. THE REVIEW. While walking to the front door, you get the classic city feel. One side of street clean and of course the side you are on you think someone just got mugged. You come to the door which from the out side, the mind wonders.. How stale will be the buns, and will you have to fight off roaches for a seat.. You look to the hours sign.. Small voice inside you hopes its closed.. Opens every day at 8.... closes.. God knows.. With deep breath you open the door.. And the world , your world views , Everything you thought you knew.. changes in seconds.... You are greeted warmly. When I say warmly. I dont mean the cookie cutter welcome you get at most upper scale franchises. I mean you are welcomes like you ran into that kid from high school who looked up to you .. welcome. It was warm, honest, friendly. And it only got better from there. While a classic dog shop. Where the grill is in the front window so you can see the magic happen. This place made great use of the space it had. There was plenty of seating.. Yes, it had no seating out side. Which was a down side.. ( But read the first part of this, would you wanna sit out side? ) But the inside was in a word. Spotless. ZERO DIRTY. it looked like they just open AFTER a cleaning crew went in.. And By cleaning crew I mean California Hispanic clean. Or New York Mafia Clean. Like a crime went down here hours ago and it will never be solved bc there is zero clue left behind clean. It was middle of the afternoon And there was zero dirt.. not even a piece of wrapping paper.. Something was afoot... You question where you are.. The menu was great. LOTS to choose from, But Good enough so its not over bearing. Remember folks its a dog shop.. BUT I do suggest the surf and turf dog. THE FOOD: I LOVE DOGS. They remind me of women.. you know alot of nasty stuff was put inside it, but you going to eat it any way. But Beside my personal views. These dogs i would say Hold the best dogs in PA . Out doing the ones In Pittsburg and Erie .. But its a franchise... Not a small mom and pop store like I thought. But THAT ALSO ASIDE .. What is wrong with these people. The surf and turf dog was made with with REAL CRAB.. Like right out of a crab can crab.. Only thing fresher would go to Baltimore, crab a crab and throw it still wet on the grill. That kind of real crab. Cooked in .. No veggie oil... Not peanut oil... No BUTTER. Your Food is cooked in Butter.. Not that can't believe in it's not butter butter.. But old milk, heart attack, English fat butter.. SO GOOD!!!! And the dogs them self.. Are beef dogs, many wrapped in bacon, fried in butter,, FOLKS more then my arteries are getting hard reflecting on how good these dogs are. The Farmer Dog,, first time I came across fried egg on a dog.. HAD TO HAVE IT.. It was perfect. the slightly toast bun was not toasted to the point of being dried out, the egg, dog, and bacon went great with I am thinking might have been honey mustard, not sure, bc it was crazy good. and I start to lose myself in the joy of food. The staff was very helpful. Another customer was lost.. when lost.. I mean she didnt know what city nor state she was in.. I think she might had frito pie dog.. Need to get that next time. FRIES!!! Now usually fries get a pass over.. Why not. just deep fried potatoes.. BUT HERE. They bring you something new.. But its hidden.. yes you get your standard yellow fries, which are nice, low on salt, ask for salt.. But they also have sweet potatoes fries. THIS IS where you are brought to a high culture.. not bc of the sweet potatoes fries.. but what goes on them.. powder sugar. OMG.. I thought the honey on pizza in Kansas was amazing.. NEED TO DO THIS! Usually on my reviews I bash about something. HAVE TO, Bc no place is perfect. Other then it being in a low parking, questionable area And a franchise.. This place was and is perfect. So if you go see the senators games.. be it in office or on the field CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!!! it's seriously worth it.

Yelp
Very unassuming place. But great hot dogs. Have a bunch of options and it's all fresh made. Def a nice lunch spot if you're in the area!

Yelp
Not impressed at all. I ordered the Chicago Dog and it was impossible to eat. The poppyseed bun was rock hard and split all the way through. Everything fell out. Tomato wedges too thick. They got the nuclear green relish and sport peppers right. For the price, the quality is just not there. Totally lost the mustard drenched pickle. I should have taken a picture but I was hungry. Totally not what I was anticipating.

Yelp
I hit this place up for lunch a few months back and realized I never wrote a review. First off what a variety of hot dogs and sides they have. I had the Carolina Slaw Dog with a side of onion rings. Well let me tell you, yes it was a little messy but that made it great. The onon rings were fried crispy and most yummy. You order at the couter then they bring the food right to you. The staff could not be any friendlier. If your in the mood for a GOOD dog with all the fixen's then dont pass this place up. From the crowd that was in there during my visit I could tell that had a great following.

Yelp
Between the awesome and friendly staff, the care they put into the food, and how great the hot dog and fries were. This place is a must for an affordable lunch downtown. I had to go into the office yesterday and met a friend there for lunch. I got the Philly dog with whiz, fried onions, and peppers. It's super tasty and the fries were hands down the perfect french fries, crispy outside and light and fluffy on the inside. Seriously go there now! Stop reading this and go get a dog and fries!

Alice W.

Yelp
Cozy, friendly neighborhood hot dog shop with some wildly creative hot dogs! So many tasty choices, it was tough to pick just one. And if you're into sweet potato fries, these are some of the best I've had. The chef was very friendly. And don't you love sitting right at the counter and watching the magic happen?

Yelp
For a hole in the wall the food is awesome. Great service and the food is served piping hot. Best place to get a dog the way you want.

Yelp
Was walking by chatting about what to eat, the owner, a Harrisburg naitive, was heading back in and assured if we came in we wouldn't regret it! We popped in, great service... great staff... while contemplating what to order, people were leaving sharing their gratitude. People were coming shouting, 'you know what I want!' I tempted the Jamaican Jerk Chicken and enjoyed! I truly loved the pineapples... Thanks for the push across the threshold!!!

Yelp
They are pretty friendly and the hot dogs are so good!!! Amazing service!!! I just love it!!

Yelp
Easily one of the best food experiences I've had. It's a long narrow piece of the building with a bar that has the kitchen behind it. Every staff member from the cook, the manager John, and the owner Hassan was so friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Hassan came up to us when we sat down, asked what we got and gave some recommendations for next time. He seemed genuinely excited about the food and was passionate about how he wanted to create a welcoming place for anyone to come and eat. He has definitely succeeded! And the food was great! I had the Detroit dog with fries. The chili was sweet and very tasty. The fries were excellent with the "try me" sauce. My wife had sweet chili wings and onion rings and enjoyed both. I can't wait to go back and support these folks and try some more dogs.

Yelp
L.A Dog with onion ring combo. So good. Will be going back for more. Employee was fast and friendly. Greeted me soon as I walked in. Great customer service!

Yelp
This place is fantastic. Great service hot food. I came in about 2:20 in the afternoon. These guys served me up and seated me right away. The guys were very welcoming and attentive. I would recommend this place to anyone that's passing by State Street in downtown Harrisburg, PA. There are many selections of different meats and extras to go on a hotdog. You can't go wrong here....five stars.
google avatar

Gianna P.

Yelp
Stumbled across this place and I 10/10 recommended! I got the all American hot dog combo and it was delicious! They have great prices, lots of options, and the staff is super friendly, helpful and welcoming! I will be back for sure! Thanks guys :)

Yelp
This is my first time in Harrisburg, and Pennsylvania in general so everything is new to me. Here I am, walking down the street, and I see a guy who looks like my cousin in the window cooking. At that moment I decided to eat there. Everyone is so friendly and I really like the vibe of the spot, bar style or tables to dine in. I decided to take out and I am overjoyed. I got a side salad with bacon, cheese tomato and onion. Smacking. I also got a Chicago Style Brawt. DOUBLE SMACKING. I'm so glad I followed my gut and opened that door. I am definitely coming back next time I'm in town. And I can't forget about the mystery drink, so delicious and nostalgic, IFKFK!

Yelp
Great service...very good variety yet unique with quality favor that is not available in many locations

Yelp
The Hawaiin hotdog and Memphis dog were delicious! They were both made fresh to order along with hot fries. Definitely recommend this gem if you enjoy a good hotdog!

Yelp
It was my first time in Harrisburg and I was looking for food. I searched and this place came up. The moment I walked in I was greeted and asked if it was my first time. The person helping me was super nice and very helpful. I ordered the All America hot dog. I also ordered funnel cake fries which the person helping me suggested. I took it to go. The moment I got into my hotel room I ate everything. It was so GOOD!!!!!!! My only regret is I didn't order more. I'm definitely coming back next time I'm in town.

Yelp
A dog to die for while enjoying the feeling of home. We have traveled far and wide for dogs and this hot dog shop is by far the most welcoming, clean, and friendly. The Owner is a delight, definitely someone to bump into if you can. 10/10. Will be back!

Yelp
Placed an order for myself and 9 co-workers via the Uber Eats app. The staff was super nice, the hot dogs were awesome, and there were no issues with any incorrect orders. These guys do a fantastic job!

Yelp
I also ordered the Chicago Dog and thought it was excellent! As Cindy J said, at first I thought I might need a fork and knife, but I made it work . Party of 4 had the Chicago, Boston, Texas, and Memphis dog. 2 of the 4 are really into their hot dogs... and all 4 of us said "We are coming back". Got the combo plates.. Between us had Onion Rings, Frys and Sweet Potato pies. Mid meal we discovered they had deep fried Oreo Cookies.. had 6 of them between us and it was more than enough. Beyond the food.. which was excellent. The staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Check in to make sure our meal was up to par. Made recommendations on the choices. Brought sauces for us to try. All excellent. What was most impressive is that in a world where customer service is dead... they guys made us feel welcome and they appreciated the business. It seemed like they were family . Uncles/Brothers/Nephews. You could tell they were invested in the business as a family and not cogs in some corporate machine. Coming back to Harrisburg. Looking for Hotdog Factories when on the road.

Yelp
i have to come to harrisburg for work about once every moon. i never know what has closed, what has opened, or what has become just a husk of what it used to be anymore. work day lunch is such a gamble in this crumbling burg. but anyone who knows me knows that i appreciate a hot dog. the hot dog factory offered just what i needed. what i valued most was the experience. it felt like an authentic lunch time experience, which i oddly yearn for now that i work from home. the hot dog was unremarkable, except for the fact that it was a beef frank and not some mystery cylinder. i got the chicago dog. it tasted nothing like a hot dog tastes in chicago but i appreciated the effort. the fries were definitely made of potatoes and cooked in a deep fryer--this is a fact that cannot be disputed. they could have been hotter and a little greasier. the syrup/liquid mixture in the soda machine was perfect. overall, it was exactly what i expected: a decent meal at the $13 (including tip) price point, which seems to be the going weekday lunch rate in central pennsylvania in 2022.
google avatar

Alden D.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped in the hotdog factory because it was one of those days we both had a craving for hotdogs. We had an All American, Detroit Coney and Fries. We were both happy with the food and service. This is the place to go when you need a hotdog!
google avatar

Heidi J.

Yelp
I ordered off of grub hub. I'm hoping maybe they are better if you go in and purchase them fresh....but probably not. I won't fault them that everything was soggy and Luke warm. But I will fault them for the actually hot dog. I had a Chicago and new York. Both lacked flavor which is crazy with the toppings. The hotdogs tastes as if they were left in a pot of water overnight and the water took all of the flavor out of it. I always give restaurants a 2nd chance. So I will update when I try again.

J K.

Yelp
Order takeout this weekend and although a bit pricey for hotdogs it was very good. I had the August and my wife had the Detroit coney. She said hers was good but the chili was kinda sweet which she didn't like. My son devoured the corn dog so I think it's safe to say he liked it. We also had the loaded fries which were by far my favorite thing. Perfect amount of toppings for the amount of fries, meaning you didn't get any "dry" fries. We finished with the deep fried Oreos which were delicious. The negatives were the cole slaw that asked like it may have been starting to go bad, and again it was a bit pricey for hit dogs imho. They forgot our fountain drinks for our combo but I blame myself for that too. All in all, definitely worth a try for some uniquely topped hot dogs. So many different styles I definitely want to go back and try some of the others, but those fries would be hard to resist.

Jason A.

Yelp
Hotdog was delicious! I ordered the spicy dog combo. The only reason why I didn't give it a 5 star was because the hot Cheetos were a little stale but it wasn't such a huge deal to me I would definitely buy this again. The employees were really great too i have to say. They were very helpful with the menu and very outgoing. I definitely want to come back and try more food options.

Amy D.

Yelp
Great staff excellent service and the food and choices were amazing. I got the Detroit coney island hot dog it was awesome!! I would definitely recommend this place. If you like Out of the Box hot dog choices you will have plenty to choose from additionally they have hamburgers, chicken sandwiches and I can't wait to go back to get a fried Twinkie!!

Tariq A.

Yelp
Amazing food, great staff....we had the foot long, Detroit coney, and Philly dog...impressive. Recommended stop for food!
google avatar

Rob S.

Yelp
Awesome little place. Jamaican jerk chicken dog was on point. Onion rings are best I've ever had. Crispy with perfect breading. Wife had the Detroit dog. Chili was sweet dog was delicious. Highly recommend

Vanessa B.

Yelp
I decided to try your location in Fort Worth, Texas, yesterday, and I must say that the food was awful. I ordered a cheeseburger that was overcooked and under-seasoned, and to make matters worse, the chili that was applied was very sweet and unpleasant. Chili shouldn't be SWEET! I suggest that your company begin asking customers about the desired cooking of their burgers and find another chili recipe that isn't full of sugar. I will only visit your business once all issues voiced are addressed. Thanks.

Yelp
Super great place to eat. Great food, great atmosphere and very welcoming. Definitely will be back to try the rest of the menu, this time around I got the Chicago dog brought back memories of my home town the Windy City

Yelp
Great for family friendly service...Texas rodeo hot dog omg...crispy onion rings...ontop a bacon wrapped hotdog

Yelp
It has a smaller dining room. Food was great. The prices were competitive with restaurants like it. The staff was great. Very friendly and helpful. Made you feel very welcome. Would recommend. Also they have Mt Dew. So that's a plus for me.

Joyce E.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place since it opened. It was always too busy for my half hour lunch. So today, I decided to leave for lunch a bit early. Boy am I glad that I did! I have never tasted such a delicious hot dog. I was skeptical at first because I didn't know how pineapple, bacon, onion, cheese, and bbq sauce would taste together. It was amazing!!!! I can't wait to try a different hot dog next time. The staff is very friendly and helpful (it was my first time ordering there). They showed me the finished hot dog to make sure it was okay before they packaged it up. I completely approve of this place!

Yelp
Thankfully there is a new option in the food wasteland that is Soma. If you're not in the mood for ElSol which is fantastic, or the reasonable facsimile of food offered at Subway, you're no longer out of luck for a quick bite. The LA dog loaded with chili cheese fries over a bacon wrapped all beef cylinder of deliciousness was exactly what I expected from the colorful online menu. The New Yorker was as described with a touch of sauerkraut and spicy mustard for a good old fashioned hot dog experience. I was swirling with memories of summer days, waterfront walks, amusement park rides when I bit into the slightly sweet batter of the corn dog. Batter that was the perfect foil to the slightly salty hot dog it was enveloping. And the fries. The fries were a masters class in what a proper French fry should be. With some peel still intact, there was excellent balance between crispy edges, soft pillowy center, and just the right amount of saltiness. All of this decadence left me craving a salad, which they also offer, along with vegan options and more combinations of toppings, dogs, buns and sides than one place should offer. 1000% home run. Great job to a very polite and friendly team, we'll done.

Barry C.

Yelp
Awesome dawgs and better service! The guys were great. Stop in. I loved the all American and Memphis dawg was nice and smokey.

Chris Y.

Yelp
Great options and a extremely friendly staff. Good place to pop in and lots of different ways to style your hot dog!

Yelp
We had the Detroit coney and Street Polish, with a side of onion rings. All on point. Friendly service e as well. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Just moved to the area and was looking for a place to eat downtown while touring apartments. This place was the first to come up when I googled good places to eat. Boyfriend and i decided we were in the mood for a hotdog and decided to stop in here. Boy are we glad we came here. The service is FANTASTIC. Immediately was served when we stepped in and the guys up front were extremely friendly and helpful. We talked to the owners cousin and then eventually the owner of the place. Both are super nice guys and told us a lot about the city like where to go and what to do. Wish I would have gotten a picture, but I got I believe just the original hotdog and my boyfriend got a hotdog with chili on it, i dont remember what it was exactly called. Both were seriously so good and fries were fresh. While the owners cousin was talking to us, he gave us a cup of their sauce, I believe it was called bite me sauce ? Don't remember. But it was one of the best sauces I e had with my fries in a very long time. The food is not only delicious but the customer service is one of the best. 10/10 would recommend stopping here for a bite and we will definitely be back soon!
