"An Atlanta-based hot dog chain is seeking to open roughly 10 franchise locations in metro Detroit, scouting neighborhoods such as Midtown and Southfield for a possible first local restaurant by December; the concept highlights regional hot dog styles like Seattle Dogs with cream cheese and also offers items such as chicken sandwiches and burgers." - Brenna Houck

I was getting coffee next door and walked over. I got the Carolina slaw dog, which came with slaw and chili. It was really good. Had a little crunch to it which was surprisingly delightful. Didn't even know they had a Original Hot Dog factory location over here. But when I'm back on the Westside beltline or at Lee+White, I might stop by again.

Food is as expected. Hot dog and fries. I appreciate there being dog options. Personally, it is way more greasy than I can tolerate, but nothing a paper towel doesn't fix a little. The staff are decent. There is a woman who works that is usually really professional and helpful and the space is clean from what I can see. My concern is while this is an open carry state, I can't say I was comfortable seeing staff with weapon in the guy's paints /underwear as they took my order or prepped food. The lack of proper holstering spoke volumes and concerned me as well as the fact that this was occurring around 1 on a Friday afternoon. It's a personal thing for me and I may not return if I see that person working again.

I always believe in giving credit where it’s due, and the customer service here was pleasant. They were about an hour from closing, so I understand they were wrapping things up. I chose to dine in, and my food came out in about 20 minutes. Unfortunately, that’s where the good news ends. When the food arrived, the fries were barely warm—as if they had been sitting out before being plated—and the hot dog bun was cold. For the price, the quality just didn’t match up. I honestly could have boiled a Nathan’s hot dog at home or grabbed one from Sonic and enjoyed it more. A coworker recommended this spot based on her great experience at the Atlanta location, so I had high hopes. Sadly, I think it just wasn’t my lucky day. I appreciate supporting neighborhood businesses, but I’ll likely pass next time.

Did an order for the first time from here, hot dog was totally shriveled up and overcooked, and the side of baked beans is ridiculous. The shot glass size, what??? And they tasted like can beans with uncooked onion and heaps of vinegar added. No thanks.

Tasha and Saph were amazing! We had a big group order and they worked hard to get our food to us! Really awesome service!!

The first time I came here it was a nice experience the food was good. I’m here today(10/19) and the lady with the blonde braids was very rude for no reason. Not sure what her problem was. The prices are inconsistent—she charged me $1.05 for a cup of claw slaw that was half full when the other day the lady charged me $0.55. the food is good but horrible customer service can really put a bad taste in your mouth. If she’s not happy with her job please let her know she should leave and not take her problems out on the customers.

I stopped in at the West End because I was really in the mood for a good hot dog! We ordered the Carolina slaw dog which was very tasty and the Jamaican Jerk Chicken Sausage, which was overloaded with sauce, too much sauce. Anyhow, the food was not the issue it was the young lady who prepared the food. She has little to no customer service etiquette. I asked for salt and she shoved a plastic utensil kit in my face saying this is what I have, so I asked if she can use the shaker to add some more, she proceeded to tell me that it is seasoned and dragged the curtain shut in my face! The New Yorker in me wanted to explode, but the man in me told Me to write a review! So here I am letting you know the young lady at the West End location needs sensitivity training ASAP

The food and service quality was truly exceptional. The nice lady that took my order had the best customer service I’ve ever encounter. I highly recommend the Hot Dog Factory for the delicious food and great service!
