The Original Maxwell Street

Always open to trying new spots, passed it once line was wrapped around building so built my anticipation. Happen to be in area again and went and was a bit underwhelmed. No long line but the food was good for greasy hangover times, the simple touch of a hot pepper with each sandwich was a great addition though. My fries were like they set around for a min as they were mushy but the burgers were fine. Apple parking around and able to walk up to order as well, used to be checkers it seems so cheap easy greasy food it’s a win.

I had an amazing experience at Maxwells, a true taste of Chicago right here! The food was so good — flavorful, fresh, and made just the way it should be. From the first bite, you can tell they take pride in what they serve. The service made everything even better. Kevin and Sterling were absolutely amazing — friendly, attentive, and made me feel genuinely welcomed. They made the whole visit smooth and enjoyable. If you’re craving great food and even better service, Maxwells is definitely the spot. Highly recommend!

I got a Vienna Dog and a Polish Sausage with grilled onions and green peppers and fries for both entree on 9/13/2025. The food is good it's delicious. Im really not a spicy food person but you got to bite a piece of the pepper after you try the dog or polish it's a flavor explosion. This is a Chicago staple I believe also. Pull up and support it's worth the trip.

The food is great for the price point and though the line took 35 minutes to get through (bc they just opened), I placed my food and got it in 3 minutes once I got to the front! I wish they had more toppings on the entrees is my only complaint. Would’ve loved relish on my polish and lettuce and tomatoes on my burger. But the flavor was there! I know some people are big on aesthetics and they’re not that lol, but it was still good. I only care about taste and temp! I got 3 sandwiches and 3 fries for $17!! 👍🏾

I’m sooo happy they opened up a location out here. They are definitely 24 hours. Akeem up front took my order & had amazing customer service. Food was fresh literally 10/10 i had a polish with everything on it. Cheeseburger. Cheese fries is a must.

Great roadside hotdog stand. Surprisingly affordable for this day and age. Hand cut fresh fries. Great Polish sausage. Its become a family tradition to take the kids here for a treat after their extra circulars. Staff is friendly. Eating area is seating in the parking lot. We love it.

Best way to describe it is the Varsity with seasoning and way better pricing. Fries are the truth downside is they barely give you any so I advise you order another side lol chicken was crispy burger was juicy and filling nost of all everything was 14.00 even. I shall definitely be pulling up everytime I'm in the area.

If your looking for a hidden gem you will find it at the original Maxwell Street eatery. $6 bucks got a polish sausage dog with sauted onions, mustard, and fresh hand cut fries with crispy skin still on some. It only haA out door seating. It's located in a previous Checkers so exact same set up. They are fast and friendly and open 23 hours.

I ordered my food through Uber Eats and the food is delicious. Very good price point and your dog and or polish sausage comes with fries not all places do this for real. Not sure about the food yet but the staff doesn't understand directions so we will not be back. They got the order wrong and said we didn't say items that we said more than once.

Although the food is good the customer service is little to be desired the guy at the walk up window showed any sign of my incorrect order as he turned around an to use his personal phone at work...I feel sorry for the owner he's actually a cool guy but bad customer service from his employees can definitely tank a great establishment.
