19 Restaurants in New York That’ll Fulfill Any Bacon Craving | Eater

"This beloved national chain has three locations in the Buffalo area serving a variety of breakfast favorites, including a long list of pancakes and waffles. From Dutch babies to buttermilk waffles to crepes, customers can find all types of fluffy doughs with a long list of fillings. Instead of getting your bacon on the side, opt for the bacon pancakes or waffles. Both have bits of bacon baked directly into the dough (mindblowing, we know). Drizzle with syrup as needed." - devorahlevtov

Google
A too breakfast place in the area. Hard to get into, as it’s always packed and there are no reservations, but it’s worth the wait. One word: CREPES. They are the best in the business. So, so good…. and cheerful, too. Our family just loves the OPH!

Google
The food was great. We ordered a omelet with pepper jack cheese, after a bit the manager came to our table and indicated the cook made it with cheddar cheese. We were hungry, so we told to her to just bring it. I am surprised management didnt take the cost of the cheese off, and I think they should have.

Google
Great place to eat breakfast. I love the blueberry pancakes, 2x4 as they call it. The service is always very good. The waiting area was improved as you used to have to write your name on a board. Now they text you. In addition you can pay at the table vs the desk on way out, which also eliminates a bottleneck in that area.

Google
Definitely a great breakfast joint to check out if your in the area! The place was buzzing on the Thursday we were there for the Bills vs Dolphins game. Overall the food was great, I especially loved the apple pancake 🌟 Kept me full for almost the whole day haha! My only feedback would be to have more staff, you could feel they were running a bit behind that day.

Google
Hands down the best chocolate chip pancakes I have ever had. The wait to be seated was short for a breakfast rush on a Sunday. The food and service were great. Definitely looking to come back again!

Google
If u r Canadian visiting Buffalo, u should try this place and never regret, amazing delicious plates all with pancakes & waffles, u ll be surprised with the portions of the dishes which is normal in the USA 😊 the opposite in Canada☹️, it's a bit pricey but u could consider it as breakfast & lunch 2 in 1

Google
We have been here many times the only thing that really changes are the prices. They seem to go up quite dramatically. $7.85 for 4 pieces of bacon seems a bit overpriced. Strawberry crepes were amazing as always. Out server Stacey I was incredible she stopped over many times to check on us. The food and service is always top notch just very pricey. Wait was about 20 minutes to be seated on a weekend.

Google
Food was delicious. Pigs in the blanket were superb 👌 Pancake flavor is so good and light and fluffy. Bacon was awesome thick and crisp! Waited awhile because there was a big take out order. Was worth the wait! People are very polite. A+

Yelp
The pancakes are delicious here! Unfortunately, we ordered our pancakes with extra chocolate chips (which somehow costs $1.80...) and were surprised to find barely any on the pancakes. Turns out they put them in a separate container, which meant the chocolate chips were not melted on the pancakes at all. This is the only time that has happened when I've ordered extra chocolate chips on my pancakes anywhere and seems very counterintuitive. The breakfast potatoes are yummy though! Unfortunately, ordering takeout here is very complicated. The online ordering site has glitches (for example, if you select no onions for the breakfast potatoes, it shows up as "onions" on the order summary and arrives with onions). To make it worse, there's no way to speak to a human being at the restaurant on the phone, so you have to physically go there to order and wait for your food there. Very frustrating. If you're not going to allow people to call your restaurant directly, the online ordering should be seamless, and it's not. It also doesn't allow for written customizations. They also consistently seem understaffed. Good food but just so complicated to order it for takeout sadly

Yelp
Visiting from out of town and one of my favorite spots to go is the pancake house. This time around The food was okay, but the sausage and potatoes I ordered did arrive to the table cold. The serving size of the home fries is a little disappointing for the price of over $4 for a literal toddler sized handful of potatoes and onions. The waitress did bring a fresh serving of potatoes. they were pretty good. Very friendly staff, clean dining area.

Yelp
Went for breakfast. I was so glad to be able to join the waitlist online in advance. We were seated promptly once our table was ready. I opted for a coffee but a lot of people were drinking orange juice, it looked really good. I ordered the veggie omelette and upgraded my pancakes to strawberry. The pancakes were perfect. My omelette was good too! Our server was really nice and had very cute tattoos.

Yelp
We walked in at 10 o'clock on a Sunday morning and we're seated right away surprisingly. Even though the restaurant was full, people kept moving in and out. We ordered a cinnamon apple pancake with sides of potatoes and bacon, and I was go by the size of the pancake (which is really a Dutch baby). The cinnamon, apple pancakes were delicious, as was the baking. Our server was pleasant and attentive. Everyone was dressed in Bill scare appropriately. The place was busy, and it was a little loud, but nothing unusual for a boisterous pregame crowd. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a great brunch in Williamsville.

Yelp
Stopped in for a late breakfast/early lunch. That's the great thing about all day breakfast spots, it doesn't matter what time you're there, breakfast is always a good choice. When we walked in, it was a little busy but a lot of people were heading out. We sat down at our table and got water and menus. I ordered an orange juice which was delicious and tasted fresh squeezed. We gave our order and waited for our food. My friend ordered himself an omelet with pancakes while I ordered two eggs, sausage, and pancakes. We waited a pretty good amount before our food came out. We both blamed the omelet for taking too long jokingly but still didn't think it would be as long as it was. The food was delicious. The buttermilk pancakes were incredible and tasted so much better than any pancakes I have had lately. I love the vibes here too. It has that classic diner feel but just a bit elevated enough to make it feel modern. The staff and servers were great. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Came in for a super quick breakfast after Record Store Day, and we had a nice time! We came in on a super busy morning and were excited to be seated pretty quickly for how busy it was inside. Our server was super nice and attentive to our table as well as answering questions about the menu and rewards program as it was our first time there. The ambiance was defiantly lively and not a quiet breakfast experience so keep that in mind if that's what you are looking for! We didn't mind and thought it was a fun atmosphere. The food here I do have to say was expensive for breakfast food, check the menu photos for prices, and it was all pretty good. I got the bacon and eggs with three buttermilk pancakes. The pancakes were fabulous! So golden and buttery, but the eggs and bacon were more standard fare. For $15 I would've hoped for better.

Yelp
I love the omelettes and pancakes here!! I think I've been ordering the same thing for 20 years. Omelette with cheese and peanut butter and strawberry jelly pancakes. The eggs are fluffy, cheesy and everything you could hope for in an omelette and the pancakes will knock your socks off. If you liked Pb&J as a kid(I obviously still do), this is a must try. The strawberry syrup is just the perfect topping for the peanut butter pancakes. As long as you are ok with sticky tables and little substitutions available, the service and the food will be worth the wetnaps. Ample seating, place can def get packed around breakfast time. Pro tip- dinner time is way less crowded and breakfast for dinner is just as delicious as breakfast for breakfast ;)

Yelp
This place does a great job of being exactly what it tries to be: No frills, comfort food in a family friendly setting. The portion sizes were generous and the staff keeps everything moving. We were there on a very busy Sunday morning and still didn't have to wait too long for anything. The dinning room was loud and full of Bills fans carbo-loading on game day. We had heard great things about the apple dutch boy, so my wife and I ordered that to share along with home fries and a plate of bacon. When the food came we were not disappointed! The Dutch baby was HUGE and so hot we had to pick it apart a bit before we could safely eat it, but it was worth the wait! This thing was decadent beyond belief, gooey, sweet, doughy, piled high with tart apples. And even with two adults eating we barely finished half of it. The bacon was also top notch, thick cut and chewy crisp. The only downside was that the home fries were loaded with onions to the point where they really overpowered not only that dish, but the meal until we set them aside. I would not get those again, but I highly recommend everything else!

Yelp
Great breakfast for a party of 8 during the week. We had to wait only a few minutes for the team to put some tables together before we were seated. The restaurant is easy to find and has parking on the side. If you are facing the building, parking is on the right side of the building. The restaurant is accessible though could be tight maneuvering through all of the tables & chairs on a busy day. Male/Female-specific bathrooms are also accessible and located down the back hallway. Our server took great care of us and got our drinks and food orders in quickly. She was efficient and checked on us for beverage refills regularly. A highlight of the meal was my nephew's blueberry crepes - he loved them - and the side of bacon was thick and well-prepared. My spinach and feta omelette was one of the best I've had, and I appreciate that the side of pancakes were NOT enormous. They were 5-6 inches in diameter - perfect size to go with an omelette so I was not overstuffed afterwards. We would definitely return when in the area!

Yelp
What a great breakfast spot in Williamsville, NY. I'm so glad we tried this place, very busy restaurant, hostess are friendly, the waitstaff go above and beyond. Monique is amazing!!! I ordered pigs in a blanket, one guest ordered French toast, and another the buttermilk pancakes. They were delicious, covered in a bit too much powdered sugar for me. The next day we went had Monique again, what a doll! Crepes with strawberries and cream, French toast, eggs with turkey sausage, huge cheese omelet. Absolutely amazing! Coffee is so good and never empty coffee mugs...Bright and cheery decor, tables comfortable, dining room can be loud. We will definitely be back when in Williamsville!

Yelp
I went to The Original Pancake House for late breakfast in Buffalo NY on my way between work in Rochester NY and a flight out of Buffalo. The place was still very busy on a Thursday morning around 10:45am and service was friendly and very good. Eggs over medium cooked perfectly with a little runny yolk but not in the range of over easy. Egg quality was better than average as seen by the yolk color. The bacon was also a better quality of thick (but not too thick) and crispiness, but still tender and very tasty. The pancakes were pretty good as well - golden, not overdone and not undercooked. Coffee was pretty good too. I would return again if in the area!

Yelp
Good fast kitchen and waitresses, which is necessary given all the people wanting to eat here. I had a great 2 by 4 (2 scrambled eggs, 4 pancakes) and some OJ. Marnie loved the buckwheat pancakes (which she felt tasted better than expected) topped with fresh strawberries.
google avatar

Alisha C.

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience here last weekend with my sister. She treated me for a sisters day out and along with the shopping and car concerts, we had brunch at Original Pancake House. I ordered the strawberry pancakes and a side of home fry potatoes. DELISH! The pancakes were light, fluffy and sweet, cooked to perfection. The homemade strawberry sauce to compliment the fresh strawberries was executed perfectly. Last but certainly not least was the perfectly cooked home fries that my sister and I agreed must've been made by a Spud PRO to achieve such crisp yet fluffy perfection!!
google avatar

Jaimie P.

Yelp
Food is always good but pricey, I had crepes and bacon with a pop and my bill was $26.92 before tip. The service depends on which server you get, could be good or could be slow.
google avatar

Amani W.

Yelp
Brunch was delicious today this place, not only has parking on site but friendly waiting area with a lot of space. My food was delicious 8/10, not a big fan of the home fries, but the pancakes, omelette, bacon, and waffles were amazing! I haven't been here in a few years and the remodel is beautiful. The lighting and the staff were very friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
The service was meh a way too. She did kind of just drop the coffee on the table, but she did own up to her mistake and fix it. The place was very pretty and clean and the smell was pleasant.

Yelp
I recently went to the Main Street location and Tammy was my server it was a very upsetting experience to say the least!! Tammy was VERY rude when I had any questions about the menu! then our food came took a long time and was cold!! when I told Tammy she paused and rolled her eyes walking away from us!!! I then saw her walk to the back and be rude to one of the minority workers!!! I will NEVER EVER be back!!! I also heard they are infested with roaches!!!!

Jonathan C.

Yelp
I LOVE sour dough pancakes but these tasted like rubbing alcohol which was extremely off putting. It is likely due to a bad or over fermented starter. The sides were expensive so I skipped those. I asked for banana in the pancakes and was denied (not a big deal but very strange). I did get seated and served quickly but unfortunately the food was not good. I won't be returning.

Richard R.

Yelp
Absolutely avoid!! They have no clue what they are doing. Manager asked us two minutes after we sat down how everything was!!! The water hadn't even arrived went downhill from there. Food was served piecemeal got my COLD muffin after I ate my eggs. 3 waitresses couldn't get a 2 person breakfast order right. Don't know what happened but since the interior was remodeled the place is terrible. Staff clueless, food bad, a ship without a captain. Never going back, do us a favor and close the doors!!!! Lastly $65 dollars for a crappy breakfast!! No way
google avatar

Marina M.

Yelp
This is a great spot to go for breakfast! It does often get really busy and have a wait, highly recommend walking to Glen Falls while waiting for your table and they'll text you when it's ready. I've tried their pancakes and omelets and loved both. The blueberry pancakes are my favorite.
google avatar

Dana B.

Yelp
We love breakfast for dinner, and we're thrilled to find a place open late with pancakes and the fixings. Delicious food, big selection, clean atmosphere and friendly service. Will go back again next time we are in Buffalo!
google avatar

Yelp
Quality service Wish they had KID FREE OHOP :)))) Kidssss sooooooo annoying Love the apple waffle w pecan Kids overrated!!!!!!

Yelp
Large parking lot. I had the broccoli/cheese omelet. It was huge and very good. The broccoli was nicely al dente and even though the cheese was processed cheese food, it did not seem salty. The saltiness might have been cut by the fresh broccoli(not frozen and thawed! The side offered is either three pancakes or toast. I ordered the pancakes. These were also nice and hot with a dollop of whipped butter melting on top.

Robin M.

Yelp
Walking into this restaurant felt like stepping into a time warp--in the worst way possible. We were seated and I asked for hot water, which never arrived, even after I brought it to the manager's attention. Four of us were dining, yet only one person's food came out--and it was terrible. When I finally asked to speak to the manager about the poor service, she arrived with a condescending attitude. Interestingly, the rest of our food suddenly appeared right after I made that request. Unfortunately, it didn't get better. The bacon was undercooked, the pancakes had a strange aftertaste, and the omelette was a disaster, some vegetables were overcooked, others were raw, like they'd mixed leftovers with fresh ones. To top it off, another group who came in after us received all of their meals at the same time, hot and ready. Meanwhile, our experience felt completely disregarded. The manager showed no concern for the quality or timing of service. Definitely won't be returning. The only reason they have this star is because I can't give the the zero they deserve
google avatar

Yelp
I've got no complaints. A good old pancake house. I guess you could say the pancakes are a bit teeny but they do allow you to get the half portion for exactly half the price of the full portion, which felt so genuine...no scammy vibes! The whipped cream was homemade and delicious. A pricey 2 extra dollars but they give a strawberry so what can I say. I do think about these pancakes time to time so I gotta admit this was a great breakfast for dinner experience.

Nina S.

Yelp
I really like the food and we've been coming for a while, however sometimes they bite off more than they can chew and we end up waiting a while for food, which is fine bc I like to talk but might annoy some people
google avatar

Victor S.

Yelp
The food is fine, but there's not a large variety of the pricing is a little expensive pancakes are high for the area, but the food is OK and good

Amina J.

Yelp
WHAT HAPPENED??? Used to be my favorite Breakfast place. Horrible Horrible Horrible. Hostess (angry) doubled as bus person, food came out cold (missing items) service was ok but man their management sucks along with their food. Found potatoes and spinach in my crepes. Monique our waitress was AMAZING BUT OTHER THEN THAT

Nina R.

Yelp
It's ok not the best pancake i've had in my short lifetime . However, the service & ambiance for a Saturday morning breakfast rush was 10/10
google avatar

Yelp
Big food, smaller prices, throw your diet out the window. This spot has been here longer than memory, located on the Main Street of Williamsville not far from the old mill. It has a late 1960s/70s vibe but the atmosphere isn't a wink to last century's heyday, it just hasn't been updated (you could say the same for the waitresses' uniforms). Food is good, filling, memorable mostly for its portion size though the side potato pancakes with sour cream were unexpectedly delicious. Though hungry, I didn't eat more than half my breakfast. Better-than-basic, fits the budget, reliably good- recommend.
google avatar

Dale D.

Yelp
It was a busy place but well worth the wait. Friendly service and good food at decent prices. They provided great service for being so busy and continued to check in. We left with full bellies and smiles on our faces. The location is good also and not hard to reach. Good menu and lots of selection so they have something for everyone.
google avatar

Yelp
The original Original Pancake house! Yup it's still there and nothing has changed except for the dividers between the booths are taller. The fresh orange juice machine has disappeared some where. Even though they still serve fresh squeezed orange juice , you just can't watch the oranges go through the machine one by one till they add up to a full small or large cup. They still make Dutch Babies, those delicious puffy soufflés with strawberry, lemon wedges, powdered sugar, butter and fresh strawberry sauce that manage to last two meals and you can only order when you are with a patient friend! And they are still delicious. Yes there are crepes and omelettes and Steele cut oats and English muffins and all the other goodies you either know and love or should know and love. The service is always busy and you still have to try to catch their attention for extra napkins. But they are still always cheerful and more than happy to get more coffee or Splenda for you. So why four stars? Well I'm no spring chicken and pancake house hasn't changed since I wore hip huggers!!! It really needs a face lift , a pick me up a new dress or new low rise jeans ! It's time to cheer the place up a bit. It's time.
google avatar

Nancy K.

Yelp
We always drive by here and the wait is spilling out to the sidewalk, so we haven't stopped. Now that we've finally made it here, I can see what the fuss is all about. The interior is a very large open room, but the noise level isn't that bad. The staff was friendly and helpful. I decided to order the Dutch baby and was informed it's a 20 minute bake. I decided since it's not something you could order just anywhere, I'd take the wait. It was so worth it!! It's a large oven-baked pancake, served with lemon, powdered sugar and fresh strawberries. The texture in the middle is dense and creamy. I would go back just for that!!

Yelp
Had a terrible experience tonight, Friday March 14, 2025. 5:30 pm the restaurant was half empty. We were a group of 6. Friday fish fry. They took way coleslaw and ran out of Mac salad. They substituted potato chips for the Mac salad. I had two two inch long pieces of kielbasa and two small eggs for 15 dollars. Our waitress couldn't care less that we were there. We had to ask for coffee refill and then we got a look like we were bothering her. We asked for separate checks but were told she was too busy to do that. The restaurant was half full. She also never came back to ask how our food was. We will not go back.

Judy D.

Yelp
Was sat at 5:50pm, ordered fish fry and server came back 45 minutes to tell us they were out of fish. Meanwhile, the two tables that came after us had their fish fry. Is it server fault? Is it management fault? During lent you should be prepared. We are a long time customer and go there weekly. Very disappointed will not be going back. No picture to post because we did not get food!!!

Yelp
Always always always a hometown staple. The breakfast food is consistently delicious and the service is great. The dining room fills quickly and sometimes you have to be put on a table list. Today I was on a 25 minute list, however within 15 minutes I was sitting. I've had pretty much everything in this restaurant in the last 20+ years and today I decided to have their crispy and delicious potato pancakes with a side of bacon. I'm full to the brim and I don't regret it. The prices are reasonable and I like that.

Yelp
My favorite place for breakfast when I'm back in Buffalo! The best waffles! Just be sure they bring it while it's hot. Perfect thick sliced bacon! Awesome eggs! And I mean real, fresh eggs. Be prepared for a big meal. You cannot go wrong with breakfast here. Fast, friendly service. There is one thing: the women's bathroom is gross. When they remodeled they should have addressed that bathroom. And, they need to clean it better. It's always gross...

Yelp
Amazing place with a great busy buzz surrounding breakfast .. if you can ? Try the Dutch apple , but have someone help you.. I went for the flat ones , delicious as can be . My friend had an omelet that was big enough to choke a horse .. food is plentiful and tasty .. used to go here 35 years ago as a special treat.. and today ? It's still special .. great service too..
google avatar

Amanda F.

Yelp
I do enjoy it here. I love their coffee with fresh cream. I usually get an omelette, because no matter which one u get, you won't be disappointed. I've only been to this location twice, as I usually go to the one in Orchard Park because it's closer to me. I was out this way, so I figured I would treat myself. Food was great, very clean, decent parking options considering the location. Everyone was friendly, service was decent. I sat with an empty coffee cup a time or two. And I needed a to go box, but I couldn't find my server, so I had to bother another one and I felt bad about it. Yes, I would go back here. I'm usually not able to go due to my schedule, and their hours.
google avatar

Marina O.

Yelp
Cool breakfast place. Their omelets are huge. I tried their Bacon and Cheddar Omelette. You can share that omelet with someone if you want to try their pancakes or crepes. I tried Blueberry Crepes. That was delicious and more than enough.

Yelp
Went with me and my family and we got sat down instantly. Ordered some very decent food, the waitress was nice. Customer service was very nice. It felt very classy themed. Food was 10/10 Customer Service 9/10 Ambience 8/10 Sanitary 9.25/10 Overall 9.1/10

Yelp
Stopped in for breakfast this past week. Yeah, it was good, not great, but definitely good. Server was friendly and fast. Our food was hot and it was good, but not great. I had the Dutch baby, it was hot, if not for the toppings, it really would have no flavor. My husband had the Apple pancake, which might have been as big as his head. Super hot, super sweet, and could've been mistaken for dessert rather than breakfast. We would come back and give it another try, and maybe order something else, just not those two items.

Sarah S.

Yelp
The food was fantastic and service was amazing. It has a great diner atmosphere and very family friendly.
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
I grew up coming here and only to this location for Sunday breakfasts and whenever I visit home I always have to eat here. My top 3 favorite dishes are the Dutch baby, strawberry crepes, and ham and broccoli omelette with short stack of buttermilk pancakes. Be prepared to wait in long lines on the weekends.
google avatar

Evelyn B.

Yelp
I went here with a friend who has been coming to this location since they were a kid and they absolutely raved about how great and amazing the food was. I personally was not a fan of any of my food, possibly because I ordered what was recommended and not what I would've liked. I ordered the apple pancakes and it just wasn't what I thought it would be, I thought it would be nice fluffy pancakes with a nice amount of apples and glaze but it had some sort of egg batter between the layers and I wasn't a fan of it. I also ordered a ham and cheese omelette (which I would never order again) it was extremely fluffy, bland and just big.. I will try again but I will order things that I personally prefer. The customer service was great, it was clean and they took the proper COVID precautions for the safety of everyone.

Yelp
Back in the area again after 30 years. The 3 visits our family has made to The Original Pancake House all were great. The sides of bacon may look pricey but it's a generous serving of tasty bacon. The omelets here also are second to none. My wife loves the strawberry pancakes. You can't go wrong with the potato pancakes either. Recommended.
google avatar

Steven C.

Yelp
The food here is excellent. The ingredients are fresh, the coffee is bottomless and served with real cream, the pancakes are served with real maple syrup and real butter, and there's nothing on this menu that is not first rate. Every time I fall in love with a particular dish, it vanishes from the menu. Clam and egg cakes, and the seafood omelette are two examples. The service is excellent. This place is pricey but worth it. I've been coming here for 40 years and will continue to. This place never disappoints. There are some menu items that are absolutely splendid like their Dutch Baby and Apple Pancake, but you should call ahead to order those because they take extra time.

Kent S.

Yelp
Found this gem while on vacation and it did not disappoint. Jessica took our order on a Tuesday morning and kept our coffee cups full while we had the tastiest blueberry and swedish pancakes and eggs. If you're looking for a place to have a conversation with staff while you eat this wasn't our experience. Our experience was being waited on efficiently and professionally and allowed to enjoy our food in a down home comfortable atmosphere. This location is only 9 minutes from the Buffalo airport so if you're traveling you get both great food at value prices and convenience.
