The Original Rainbow Cone

This was a pleasant surprise. Original, delicious ice cream. We ended up getting seconds. And our Schnauzer was not to be left out. He go t a pup cup which he thoroughly enjoyed. The customer service is excellent. Had a lovely conversation with the staff. The flavors are so good, it's hard to say a favorite. So just "chase" the rainbow 🥰

5 stars! This place was amazing!! The ice cream was so good and the service and pleasant demeanor of Joann was even better. We got the sundae with the chocolate "mud* and pistachio almond cream and it did not disappoint. And looked beautiful as well as created by Joann. We will definitely be back! Thanks for making us feel so welcome, Joann. 🙂

Joann was so kind! I live a little far from this location and unexpectedly, I was in the area and decided to stop in and get a few quarts. Joann was so sweet greeting everyone who came in with a warm smile and thanked everyone for coming. There didn't happen to be enough waffle cones for my orders, so she offered to make fresh ones on the spot for me! This was such a wonderful visit thank you :)

While the ice cream itself was excellent, the customer service was extremely disappointing. The individual taking our order appeared visibly annoyed and unhappy, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. As a result, we chose not to enjoy our purchase inside the seating area and instead left immediately. This experience significantly detracted from what could have been an otherwise enjoyable visit.

Customer service by cashier Joann was amazing very helpful and knowledgeable. Ice cream was amazing, delicious, and very fresh tasting! I will be back and make the long drive.

Ms. Joann was exceptionally welcoming and friendly. She took her time to thoughtfully introduce my son and me to the variety of ice cream options available, as well as the process behind how they are made. We were greeted with a warm smile and genuine hospitality. The ice cream itself was perfectly balanced—not overly sweet—and made for a refreshing treat. It’s truly a great spot to visit, especially during the summer season.

This was a fun and unique “slice” on ice cream cones! We really enjoyed the Big Muddy, Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl and Lemon Raspberry Swirl flavors. Joann was kind, knowledgeable and helpful- offering samples and explaining the menu to us. Hoping to be back soon!

Stopped at Rainbow Cone with our granddaughter and we love it! The ice cream is excellent, and they gave a lot of flavors to choose from as well as many other items to offer including shakes, mini donuts and sundaes. Renee and Joann are awesome!

Awesome ice cream shop with a great menu in a really unique delivery. They have mini donuts too and their milkshakes are awesome. The atmosphere and ambiance is incredible, very bright and beautiful decorated with cheerful colors and an almost vintage and classic appeal. My kids absolutely love this place and the service is great every time we come! The people who work here are always so nice and we have a great time every time we come grab desert here. A must try in the Waterford lakes area!

The Rundown: experience "cut" ice cream instead of scooped, with friendly faces and classic flavors. The Review: I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was overall satisfied. It's a cute atmosphere, a mix of modern and classic parlor type vibes. I had no idea about this chain, and apparently it's been around for quite some time! We were immediately greeted by genuinely friendly staff. The pricing was reasonable and they had a surprising variety of options - even down to mini donuts! The ice cream flavors were pretty standard. No crazy flavors to hit trends, but with the gimmick of cut ice cream. Which I really enjoyed, because it offered a nice variety along with something different! The classic Rainbow which they are known for, I'm not entirely about. It looks cool, but I personally didn't feel the flavors went well together. They were not bad, just did not blend for me. I'll definitely return but likely for other flavors. If you're like me and on the fence of "cup or cone?" go the cone route. They have neat cone holders to even catch drips for you! Also they run specials throughout the week so if you're at all uncertain, you will still find something you enjoy and it's a cute atmosphere to take a moment to relax and indulge yourself. Just if you need to use the restroom (including to wash your hands) do so elsewhere.

Orlando-This place is a new addition to the Waterford Lakes shopping center in East Orlando. On a scale of one to 10, service would be a 15+!! The gal that was helping us was over the top sweet and let us taste several flavors before ordering. I decided on a cup, and my friend decided to have a stacked cone. The reason for the three stars is because several of the flavors that I tried tasted "old" and had a weird over-frozen texture. I have had this kind of ice cream before. It does not taste freshly made, rather like it's been thawed out and then frozen again, giving it a strange texture. My friend enjoyed her unusual looking cone, and the two flavors that I ordered tasted OK. I think this was a one and done for us. We have so very many dessert places nearby, I think we can find fresher tasting ice cream elsewhere.

So I completely forgot to take a picture of my cone unfortunately. But it was refreshing and sweet! I tried the orange layered creamsicle. And Joanne the one who helped me out is a lovely young girl! Excellent hostess! And you can tell she loves her job and enjoys to make customers happy with the veriaty of ice creams she serves. She is. Very enthusiastic and bubbly and is always excited to share about this amazing place. She makes ordering fun! I love the decor it's very colorful and fun! It's like a dream come true when you first enter the store. Love! And I can't wait to go and try a new flavor!

Happy to see another Rainbow Cone in Florida. I've been to the one in Bradenton, the first location in FL. This started in Chicago and being born there I didn't have it til I moved here, then I went back and had it at Navy Pier in Downtown Chicago. It was so tall. Here it's not tall at all, but the layers are good. My fave is the orange sherbet and the pistachio. They have more flavors than these and you can have them as ice cream sandwiches or cakes etc. many options. So nice to run in this store in Waterford Lakes in Orlando. It's my first time in the area . The service was great. The decor is fun. The bathroom decs should be in the front and they need more tables here.

Omg! Finally an ice cream joint that is delicious and phenomenal service is near me!!! Just opened yesterday with a hard opening today! The staff is 5/6 and so helpful! Special shout out to Victoria and the manager Candy! Everyone who works there is very sweet and friendly! You can get the flavors and they tell you what is in which one and what their fave is! This place is going to kill it! Candy said their goal is to get lines down in 4 mins! I would say that is wonderful! Everyone walks around and asks how everything is! I wanted to take one star off because the scoop sizes aren't consistent, but the service made up for it! I also wish the Nutella donuts had a generous amount of Nutella, it was more of a drizzle to me. We will definitely be back to try the rainbow ice cream cone! I'll never drive to a competitor unless I'm in the area, otherwise this is the best choice for Waterford! The floor looks like sprinkles and they keep the tables clean! Love it, love it, love it!

Both times I have been to this location, I've had trouble with them honoring their online promotions. The first time, the girl called me back to let me know that I was correct and the next time I came in, I would get the free cone that was featured on their promotion. I just came in today and told the manager this and she had a very rude attitude and again did not honor the promotion. I have a screenshot of the promotion that is featured on Facebook stating that if you sign up, you will get a free rainbow code. I will definitely not be wasting my time or energy at this place again. The ice cream is way too overpriced and considering the poor service, absolutely no thank you.

I had to stop here on my recent trip to Chicago. From everything I read, the original rainbow cone is a Chicago institution. I of course had to order the original cone, and it was so tasty and fun to eat. There are 5 different flavors, in the original cone, and each Is delightful. My favorite of them all was the orange sherbet. Each flavor on the cone is scooped with a flat scoop so the end up as flat slices. It's a really cool looking cone, and it's been around for almost 100 years, which I think is amazing. It opened in 1926 and hasn't changed a ton from what I've read. Definitly check it out.

The ice cream was delicious and the service was great. Ariana was amazing! She was super sweet and helpful, explained the menu and flavors throughly going above and beyond to help us choose flavors. I ultimately landed on the cosmic dream and I really enjoyed it.

So I went during opening day and a little bit later. While I did not have the ice cream, I did have the mini doughnuts (cinnamon sugar). They are prepared fresh and come out super warm. The only nitpick I have is that the price on the board did not match the price they were charging me for the full dozen. I tried mentioning the price difference but they didn't care. I still paid. The food was again great, but I do wish the price actually was correct. It's a tiny little place and feels a little bit sterile. I would recommend the mini cinnamon sugar doughnuts to other people.

This small place is very cute inside, very pink. We were greeted right away and I ordered the original Rainbow Cone, in a waffle cone ($0.99 extra but a sugar cone is free), and my husband ordered a large Banana Nutella Shake. The shakes come with whipped cream and two mini donuts! There is not much seating inside with two small tables, a bench along one side and then some stools at the front. Since it was an off time, we were able to sit at one of the tables. When my Rainbow Cone was ready, I got it and thought it looked different than the photos, with too much yellow and Orange at the top. Turns out the server had built it wrong and did pistachio, Palmer, and Orange at the top instead of Palmer, Pistachio and Orange. I didn't mind, though. She did come by later and say she was sorry, she was distracted while building it. I also appreciated the plastic drip catcher they put my cone in as I am a sloppy ice cream eater. I loved the look of the slices of ice cream and the flavor combination was surprisingly good. I don't know why Chocolate, Strawberry, Palmer House (vanilla ice cream with walnuts and cherries), Pistachio Almond, and Orange Sherbet taste good together but they do! Also, all of the ice creams with mix ins like walnuts, cherries, almonds, strawberries, had lots of big chunks and were delicious. My husband finished his whole shake and said it was great but very sweet. He appreciated the donuts on top as those were unexpected. I liked the flavor of mine so much that I got a pint of Rainbow Cone to go, and that comes with two sugar cones, which is nice. There are other sliced ice cream flavors as well as regular scoops, sundaes, shakes, and mini donuts. Plus ice cream sandwiches and cakes.

We came in and got 2 cups of ice cream with toppings. Joann was soo nice and warm and helpful. The ice cream was so good. Then we got 2 orange creamsicles shakes to go. They were so yummy! We will be back, thank you!

Yes I love this placeee. It's a brand new addition to Waterford and I'm so glad. The workers are lovely and the ambiance is super cute. I tried the chocolate, mint chocolate chip, strawberry, and the rainbow one and they were all equally as delicious. The wait wasn't too long considering there were a lot of people which was nice.

Customer service was amazing, Joann was very informative and gave us samples before completing our order! Lots of varieties for any icecream lover, from milk shakes to icecream sandwiches. Overall place was clean, bright and welcoming. Happy hour is best bang for your buck on an extremely hot day!

Being from Chicago, having one of my Chicago favorites open up just minutes from me brought back fond memories. The very sweet cashier, Joann, took my order. Unfortunately, I waited roughly 20 minutes to get my cone. With it being the hard opening, I didn't particularly mind waiting so long as I'm sure the employees were feeling overwhelmed. But I was beginning to feel frustrated by the wait time. Joann noticed how long I was waiting, was very apologetic and went to go check on what happened to my order. She and two other female employees were all very nice and apologetic. My frustration was immediately smoothed out by how apologetic these ladies were. The high level of customer service was very refreshing. Not many businesses still provide this. At last, I got my cone. The taste and quality of The Original Rainbow Cone was exactly how I remember it tasting. I will be returning in the near future. Thank you for bringing a taste of the Windy City to Orlando!

We had the best experience today. Ariana really helped us decide what to get. We ended up getting the ice cream sandwich, the original rainbow cone, cinnamon roll mini doughnuts, and a delicious milkshake. We loved the history behind the brand in Chicago, and everything we ate was fantastic. We will be back!!! Thanks again, Ariana, for the tips and for being so sweet

Very cutesy ice cream shop and experience at Rainbow Cone! Joann and Reene were perfect hostesses and they explained the menu well. They were bubbly and energetic and added to the cute mood of the shop. I ordered the Cosmic Birthday junior ice cream. While the ice cream tasted a bit chalky, I enjoyed the experience.

Randomly stopped in. Awesome, welcoming & smiling service and the smell of this place is heavenly. Looks like a lot of great flavors and a cool concept. Only thing wild is ordering a "hand spun" milkshake ...but it's made using a blender?... what does that even mean?! lol.

Well it's what ever flavor of ice cream that you can think of. The establishment has a really good vibe and the service was friendly, professional, informative and had a lot of knowledge about how it works!! Highly recommended and I am coming back with my grandchildren. After all, we live in Florida and it's going to get very hot!!

Amazing service! I am so excited to finally have an ice cream spot that sells my favorite flavor which is birthday cake! Special shout out to Victoria and Joanne who were extremely nice and had excellent customer service! Definitely will be here everyday if I can!

If you've never been, make sure you get the iconic rainbow cone! I'm not normally a fan of chocolate but all five flavors were delicious. Not too sweet and the prices are reasonable. Service is great too-- everyone working is always so friendly and welcoming.
