"This chic bistro in a pretty stone house certainly has its finger on the pulse. On the menu find good bistro recipes that change on a weekly basis. These include, soft - boiled egg with cream of mushroom soup and Calvados baba. A taste sensation!" - Michelin Inspector

Such a quaint hotel. The staff were so attentative and kind. We had a lovely room which was very comfortable. We had both dinner and breakfast and both were delicious. We stayed here as a stop off on our way to the Loire Valley from Cherbourg. Will be back for sure!

Lovely boutique hotel - great value, perfect location, no onsite parking, but lots of free parking adjacent to the hotel. The town is beautiful - like a perfect Wes Anderson backdrop, the buildings are simply stunning, so if you love architecture, you’ll love this place. We ate in the hotel on 2 evenings and the meals were very good - in particular, the Normandy Steak was exceptional. In the bar (very nice) also try a Normandie, with calvados and whipped cream…. we will miss those, but we did bring a bottle of Calvados home with us so will be trying to re-create it, albeit the setting won’t be quite the same!!|

Been looking at this since we couldn't afford the Manoir du Lys!

Rooms and food good. Staff were friendly and helpful. When we arrived (cycling the veloscenie) soaking wet to find our luggage hadn’t arrived yet the receptionist rang our tour operator to chase them up without us even asking her to. Many thanks!

My wife and i have visited this Hotel on two previous occasions. It is situated in the middle of a small and classy spa town within easy reach of the attractions, and within easy reach of lovely countryside.|| The Hotel itself has a lift, therefore providing easy access to all rooms for the disabled..|| The bedrooms are very clean and comfortable, and the Restaurant inside, and outside the premises provide good food at reasonable prices. The service provided,is excellent and professional. Nothing is too much trouble.|| The is no private parking. This is not a criticism. The situation of the building does not provide for it.|| However there is ample public parking, which is free,on the street exactly outside the Hotel. You just have to plan your arrival. Lunchtime can be busy.

The service was not very good and they were struggling to cope obviously. My starter and main course looked good but were bland as if the chef forgot to use seasoning. The desert was exceptionally good as was the wine. I know Sunday lunchtimes are busy but they should be better organised to cope. We were never asked if we were happy with our food. Waiter attention is important and expected in an establishment like this one. At 27 euros for a 3 course lunch, this was poor value for money.

Arrived to find room not made up as a twin. Taken to a room with smaller bed made up as twins so narrow hard to sleep. Nothing in room in the way of refreshment not even a bottle of water and the room was hot - couldn't open window as too much noise from road outside. Looks nice on website but actually bit tatty and dated. Towels need replacing they are so old. Restaurant nicely decorated and furnished and food good so disappointing to find hotel not to same standard. Have eaten in the hotel many times over many years and always fancied staying - would not do so again. Charged same for smaller room which was not good but lack of interest in addressing this.

I stayed one night at O Gayot en route to Ouistreham. I received a warm welcome from the receptionist who spoke French and English. I was advised that the restaurant was closed because it was a Thursday. I was already aware of that fact.||||My room which was on the first floor, over the hotel entrance, was fairly spacious and was spotlessly clean. The wallpaper was rather quirky but I liked the retro wardrobe and the matching headboard on the bed. The bathroom had a shower over the bath and it was difficult to climb in / out of the deep bath. The mixer tap for the shower was difficult to adjust in order to get the required water temperature.||||There was noise from people banging the main entrance door in the early hours of the morning. These may have been late arrivals to the hotel, as there was a note for a guest taped to the main door.||||I didn't eat breakfast at the hotel. Check out was slow, because I was stuck behind a party of hikers who were paying their bills individually. I have booked another one night stay for late September, because this hotel is more reasonably priced than some other hotels in the town.
