The Originals Relais, 48° Nord

48 degrees Nord was a wonderful place based around the danish concept of ‘hygge’. The pods are in effect tiny houses with comfort and beautiful views. Ours had a hot tub and was an incredibly peaceful and restful stay immersed in nature. We had intentions of e plowing the local tourist towns but couldn’t drag ourselves away from the space. The standout were the staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they were incredibly helpful and kind. Would unreservedly recommend it to anyone who likes a glamping vibe.

Nothing you write will do justice to this unique concept in beautiful Alsace. It is astonishing, relaxing concept and place. 14 wooden cabins, hyttes in Danish as place is actually copying Danish way of living. Situated in Breitenbach, Alsace but actually you feel like in heaven on earth. Surrounded only by greenery and bio farms your mind is floating somewhere else. We took bigger cabin with Nordic bath and private sauna and used them every day. During breakfast you are served only bio locally sourced food and therefore you will not find avocado, orange etc… you will not need it, trust me. Twice we ordered famous basket for two delivered to your cabin directly. Local cheese, charcuterie, patte, salads, warm Baguette, desserts… was there any negatives? I would make breakfast longer not only two hours but then does it make sense? It is truly heaven on earth and we will be back.

This is not your typical Alsace hotel - overlooking the valley around Breidenbach there are 14 different wood „hytten“ in nordic design and a central buildung with restaurant plus Spa. All this is very relaxing. Life in the „tiny houses“ is a bit different from a normal hotel room, although very comfortable. Some have hot tubs or private saunas. All you need is there, but you may have to climb some stairs. Check the description so that it fits your needs. You leave your car in the car park and make your way up on foot or with a buggy. The restaurant offers an innovative but still authentic alsace cuisine, great chef, all the ingredients and the wine produced close to the resort (not sure about the coffee, though..). Excellent breakfast with a view and very friendly young staff rounds up everything.

We loved it. Everything was amazing. We had the "Tre Hyttes," and it was such a unique stay. Really comfortable bed, breathtaking views from le upper lounge area that was equipped with sitting area, coffee, tea, and complimentary mini fridge. The staff was really friendly, from booking to checkout. Breakfast was delicious and had lots of nice and local choices. Dinner was also top-notch. We strongly recommend it.

My husband and I spent 5 nights at this delightful, unique and very peaceful rural hotel. We booked a Grasse Hutte and though a bit small, the clean Scandanavian design and the views from the deck were lovely. The staff couldn't have been more cheerful and helpful, even with our lack of French, especially Stefan. We would highly recommend this gem.

A beautiful place in the Vosges mountains just a short distance from the wine route. The unit is well equipped and very pleasant. The view is especially amazing at sunrise. Privacy is almost perfect. The breakfast is excellent. The staff is excellent and happy to help with any question. In short, an amazing and recommended place. A small note: more orientation lighting at night and tightening of the paths to prevent slipping.

Just perfect. From begin to the end. No words to describe this special place and lodges. The view is amazing. The breakfast with fresh products is super good. Very friendly staff. Must see, don’t hesitate an go there!
