Three New Seattle Restaurants to Visit Before 2024 | Eater Seattle

"Located in Magnolia, the Outer Rim is a newly opened sci‑fi–themed cafe with a particular love for Star Wars; the space is more minimal than Mos Eisley but framed Star Wars and Star Trek prints add color, and a favorite detail is an AT‑AT‑like creature drinking out of a toilet in the bathroom; it's open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and weekends from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and it is not to be confused with Roosevelt's Distant Worlds." - Harry Cheadle

Love this place! Barista is always super friendly, and I love the Star Wars themed drinks My favorite is the "Chewbacca" - but I also like the "Jedi Mind Trick", which is pictured. Every time I come here, I check out the little library out front (I've dropped off a few! Hopefully people enjoy them). Love that sense of community, I'm really happy that they added that~

This is a very unique coffee shop! If you love Star Wars and Star Trek, you will find yourself in galactic heaven. And coffee is not secondary, they go to great lengths to create the perfect coffee beverage. You should beam yourself over there right away.

This is such a nice little coffee shop. The theme is on point. Very clean and simple while still showing off the theme without being too busy. My chai was great, my partner got a tracker beam and the barista was friendly, engaged, and genuine.

I was on a bike ride and needed a snack. Popped into The Outer Rim and had a delicious slice of bread and a mocha. I enjoyed looking at the Star Wars and Star Trek art on the walls too. Staff was very nice. I look forward to coming in again. There is a bike rack to lock your bike out front.

A great coffee shop with a calm, inviting atmosphere! The pastries from Macrina Bakery are a real treat — fresh and delicious, pairing perfectly with their well-crafted coffee. Latte and pastry both were delicious. The sci-fi decor adds a fun, unique touch to the space, making it a cool spot to relax or get some work done. The service is friendly, though a little slow at times, but it's definitely worth the wait. Overall, a cozy and enjoyable place to grab a coffee and unwind.

The Outer Rim is a fun and relaxed place. The coffee is excellent, but the pastry I tried was a bit dry. Overall, a good experience.

Star Wars fans MUST visit (and don’t forget to check out the bathroom)! The Outer Rim has fun drink choices with different syrup combinations. I recommend the Rogue One, and the blueberry scone was delicious. Super friendly staff!

The newest coffee shop in our neighborhood was good for a quick morning bite on a rainy Sunday morning. The staff was nice and hand delivered our coffee to our table. We ordered two pastries that were not warmed, so they were a little dry but tasty. The barista seemed to be training, so we were done with our pastries by the time we got our coffees. My latte was good, but the Americano was a little watery, so ask for an extra shot. The design of the shop is definitely worth a trip in. It was really fun if you're a Star Wars or Star Trek fan. There was even a Dr. Who shout-out. We'll definitely try it again.
