The Oyster House

We had a good time in the oyster house to celebrate birthday dinner. The foods are delicious but the portion is a bit small. The avocado tuna salad is quite special.

Excellent food and ambience. The seating area is spacious and cozy with high privacy. Recommend the seafood platter which is only HKD99 every Monday to Tuesday.

Oysters are fresh and taste fantastic. Spotlight goes to the bread coming with the oyster soup- cake like texture with lots of flavour. Great experience.

The food was really good. Oysters are fresh and tasty. Steak was perfectly cooked. The wine list is great. Banoffee pie is pretty good. I totally had a wondefful time here.

If you are non-HK resident or first time visitor, I would strongly suggest you try somewhere else. I arrived at the restaurant for dinner and placed an order at 6:45pm yesterday. I left this place at 7:30pm. For those 45 minutes, they did not serve any dish. This is an oyster house and I ordered 10 pieces of live oysters. For 45 min, at least two new teams came and they started their meals. They seemed to be repeating customers or at least Canton speakers. I felt weird so tried to make eye contact with the owner and the manager (2 people were serving the hall) for at least 15-20 times. They passed through my tables and obviously saw an empty table but did not even say anything. This restaurant was not full and every table was eating except for mine. I was having a wine and ran out of my patience after 45 min. So I called them and asked for bill as there is HKD200 corkage fee they said. The owner then just simply said your dish is coming next. No apology or sign of apology at all. I was so shocked so I told him I can’t wait anymore and I have seen at least two teams came after me already in the middle of dining. Why are you doing this to me. He just said then he will not charge the corkage fee. Again no sign of apology at all. Generally I only left comments for those restaurants I had good time so that I can recommend more people to go. This is ridiculous place and really out of basic manner of fine restaurant business. So I share with public not to repeat such unpleasant experience for any other customer.

We ordered a few dishes and the best is seafood platter with HK$99 only ! The fresh, air-freighted oysters are not large but packed with rich seawater flavor. The French golden snails are large and pleasantly chewy. Hokkaido scallops are sweet and enhanced by salmon roe, though thicker scallops would improve the texture. New Zealand green mussels are big and deliciously sweet. The abalone is large and flavorful, with a great bite. This platter is only available on Monday and Tuesday nights for a special price; otherwise, it's HK$199. We also ordered some starters. The Crab Meat Avocado Tart with Black Caviar features a generous amount of crab meat layered over diced avocado in a creamy sauce. The combination of sweet crab and smooth avocado, complemented by the salty caviar, creates a rich flavor profile. Another starter is Peruvian Grapefruit Vinegar Octopus. The octopus slices are a bit thick but chewy, paired with a sweet and tangy sauce and pickled onions, making for a refreshing starter. The main is Charcoal-Grilled 360-Day Grain-Fed U.S. Ribeye (Medium). The steak is beautifully seared, thick, and juicy, though the beef flavor isn’t very strong and a bit oily. Served with baked garlic, beans, and mashed potatoes, the dish is satisfying and well-balanced.

The service was incredibly slow, and the food was pretty average if not below average. We didn't even get water until 10minutes after we ordered, even though there was only 1 other table occupied when we arrived. They then prioritized the large group that came in some time after us and we watched as they all received mains while our soup bowls were all stacked up in the corner waiting for someone to come pick it up. The fish soup main was bland, if not completely tasteless.

Came here for restaurant week menu. Almost everything required additional cost on top of the set menu Chicken was not fully cooked. They ran out of fried oysters and had to replace with regular raw oysters which weren't fresh. Sauces and condiments had to be requested separately. We had mild food poisoning afterwards. Fish skin scales were not cleaned properly fish bones were not completely plucked out from fillet. Decor is comfortable but AC was very warm and stuffy.
