This was a fab trip to Hayfield. We booked in for Sunday dinner with our 2 year old dog. We felt welcome, atmosphere is warm and inviting. The food was absolutely delicious, we had scallops, trout, lamb as a main and 2 desserts and everything was fab. No complaints. The gravy in particular that came with the lamb was 10/10.
Would recommend the old fashioned if you like cocktails.
Service was attentive, non intrusive, warm and no complaints here either.
If I was to be really picky I’d caution that the toilets are a shared space. So there are separate toilets for men and women with a communal sink to wash hands. This doesn’t bother me but I know a couple of friends and family members who would be put off.
For 7 dishes (1 snack, 2 starters, main, desserts) and a drink each (cocktail and beer) it came to approximately £130 - so while expensive we loved it and would recommend it.
