Shrimp and grits was absolutely amazing. Best we’ve ever had with a flavorful twist in the crispiness around the shrimps. Mussels were perfectly cooked without any chewiness and the sauce was phenomenal. Not too salty which is rare. Turkey club was good but too much bread. Service was overall really attentive. Hostesses were rude with validating parking. They did not have any more stickers and had no idea what to do otherwise. They gave stark attitudes because they simply didn’t know any other answer. It’s sad that something so small of this really brought down our overall look of it.

We had our rehearsal dinner at the Palmetto Cafe at The Charleston Place Hotel, and I can honestly say it was an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, the team went above and beyond to make our evening special. We requested a custom menu of Chinese dishes to honor my husband’s cultural background and they crafted a meal that not only met but exceeded our expectations—our relatives from China were genuinely impressed by the authenticity and flavor! The venue itself was stunning, offering a perfect blend of indoor and outdoor space that allowed us to enjoy both the elegance of the restaurant and the amazing Charleston October weather. A special thank you to Joanna—she was incredible throughout the entire process. Her professionalism and warmth was so appreciated and we felt truly cared for and like our vision was heard. I highly recommend the Palmetto Cafe for any special event—it was the perfect choice for our rehearsal dinner! Also the coconut key lime cake was AMAZING! Book The Palmetto Cafe for your wedding - you won’t regret it! 💚

The loveliest brunch experience. The seafood omelette was perfection and my husband loved the crab Benedict. Superb service by Andrew. Will definitely be back.

The Palmetto Cafe at The Charleston Place is a true gem, providing an elevated dining experience that blends Southern charm with upscale sophistication. Known for its inviting atmosphere and attentive service, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner. The buffet, priced at $25, offers a wide variety of fresh, high-quality selections that highlight local ingredients. I found their omelette station particularly impressive—each omelette is crafted to order for $15 and filled with ingredients of your choice. The cafe’s iconic she-crab soup and crab cakes are must-tries, each dish showcasing a refined take on Lowcountry flavors. The peach cobbler was another highlight, perfectly light and a true taste of Charleston. With natural light streaming into the dining area, the cafe provides a bright, airy setting that adds to its charm. The food and service are consistently excellent, and our server made sure we felt well taken care of throughout the meal. Whether you’re dining in or taking out, The Palmetto Cafe is an experience worth savoring. Prices reflect the quality, and while it’s on the higher end, the experience, atmosphere, and attention to detail make it worth every penny.

The setting and decor is beautiful, it’s an airy beautiful green setting with high tea style crockery and beautiful Christmas decorations all around. Food however left a bit to be desired. We couldn’t be around to enjoy the buffet but the a la carte breakfast that we ordered was not that good - fingerling potatoes were bland and over cooked; and eggs were too dry and flat. Coffee was a saving grace.

Me and my fiancée made reservations to come for the buffet that happens only on the weekends. We came for both our birthdays and to celebrate our engagement (I told them when I made the reservation), our host and server took their time to read it and congratulated us. Andrew our server went above and beyond and kept checking up on us the entire experience! Before you order anything they make sure if you have any dietary restrictions, my table did not but next to us a man had many allergies and the Chef himself came to him and assured him that he will make his food with no cross contamination and just the way he likes it. The price is so worth it for the buffet, the quality is amazing and everything was so delicious and the restaurant itself is stunning with so much outside lighting. I definitely recommend making reservations beforehand because the waitlist was long for walk-ins. Definitely coming back!

We stayed in Charleston for six days. This place is easily the worst dining experience we had in the city and the most expensive. $110 per person for brunch that offered so little! What we paid did not match their online price, and I’m not sure why. The food was terribly dry and no flavor. The waiter was rude. Looked us up and down, the rolled his eyes when being spoken to, had a very snobby attitude when we wanted to order something else off the brunch menu. I was very disappointed.

Google
I was there for the brunch Buffet. The atmosphere and service is great but the food offerings were not very good. It costs $65 a person plus additional if you are having a soft drink. For the price, I was expecting better food offerings. There is an omelette station, and tables with bread, biscuits, waffles, some fruit, salmon, ribs, and duck I believe. In general the food was simple. Our server was very attentive and ensured we had our drinks coming along with mimosas. I will not repeat the experience as there are much better brunch restaurants around the city.

Yelp
They have a very nice set up for Sunday brunch here. I set a reservation for 12:45pm. Got there with two minutes to spare ended up being called back a little after 1:00 pm. The host was very friendly. We were sat in a nice little corner. There were two options for brunch. You could either order à la carte or the breakfast buffet, which was $65 per person. I found $65 to be a little steep for the selection and to not include a drink, but I was on vacation so I went for it anyways. The food was tasty some of it being cold because it was heated by a lamp. I ended up ordering a omelette from the omelette station in which I asked for egg whites but I guess the lady forgot and just made it regular, which it was really good. I did go back for another with egg whites which I didn't like it all for some reason. They have lots of different meat options like ribs, roast beef, smoked salmon, bacon, chicken sausage. They made really great grits. The waffles were nice and fluffy, but I was unable to find syrup. What dessert they did have Keylime pie, crème brûlée, macaroons, and more. I thought it was a very pretty place. Very picture worthy. Maybe I'll try dinner there one day if I'm in town.

Yelp
The service and ambiance are outstanding. The Palmetto Cafe is in Charleston Place. The food is outstanding. Our first day dining there for breakfast, he ordered French toast and I ordered the omelet with cheese and herbs. The omelet came with fingerling potatoes. His French toast can with a small jar (heated) of maple syrup. My omelet was outstanding. It came with fresh herbs and Gruyère cheese. A great combination. He said his French toast was delicious. When we left that day, we walked by a table and the gentleman had a stack of pancakes. It looked delicious. Would I come back here? I sure hope so. If you see me there, stop by and say hello.

Yelp
I had the lobster and crab omelette a few days ago when I was here. It is sooooo good..... I'm still thinking about it days later. Potato's were also unique and I enjoyed them

Yelp
Great service, good food. Service was impeccable from the 1st greeting up front through the entire. Our server, who did a great job, was a foreign exchange student, working at the hotel as apart of her school curriculum. The wife and I both ordered and enjoyed a side Caesar salad, with hearts of romaine, brioche croutons, a nice Caesar dressing topped with a white anchovy. We all, (including the daughter), ordered the She Crab Soup. The soup was good, but we were a bit disappointed, it was not served like they used to serve it in the past, which started with naked crab in the bowl, followed by table side soup pour, and a small bottle of Sherry used as needed. Now the soup is served fully prepared with no added Sherry on the side. Again, overall, a very nice small, although a bit expensive meal.

Yelp
Amazing service! Fantastic food! Great servers. They were all knowledgeable and it was such an amazing tasty brunch! Our kids loved it as well! We got the frittata, avocado toast, croissant benedict, pastry basket, fruit sides. The OJ was freshly squeezed and the lattes and coffee were delicious!

Yelp
Loved our visit here with the grand setting, beautiful gold lined dishes and wonderful service from Alissa who went the extra mile to ensure we were happy. The green juice was delicious and the coconut soup truly exceptional. There were a few hiccups with my order but Alissa resolved it and it was a lovely and satisfying lunch.

Yelp
First time here. The ambience and the decoration is outstanding. It's a Christmas wonderland , takes you to a place of comfort and gives you the feeling of being under a warm blanket next to the fire place. I wish they had more staff . We made a reservation at 1030 and we're not seated until 10:55 ,to be told we had until 11 to order food before" breakfast closes ". It is still a Devine location.

Yelp
I have reviewed The Palmetto Cafe in the past but wanted to update the listing as it has been newly renovated and re-opened. With the new management takeover by the locally owned Beemok Capital Group of The Charleston Place Hotel the renovations and the renewed feel in and around the property took off at a pretty fast pace once acquired. Included in the hotel's masterful updating is The Palmetto Cafe. I go way back to the original Omni Hotel days and have been a fan of this property for the past 20 years. This group by far has won the award in terms of bringing this property up to its true purpose. It is indeed the "best hotel that stands in the heart of Charleston." The bright and airy restaurant is now beautified with perfectly placed greenery~ the tall plants stand throughout the dining room ~and each table is accessorised with fresh florals and modern Poldina table lamps. The inviting outdoor courtyard and bronze fountain is a focal point from your table and adds another welcoming dimension to the dining room.

Yelp
This is my first review on yelp, I have never had a need for the app. I downloaded it to share my experience with my family. We were seated in a timely manner, and ordered within just a few minutes. We watched as multiple tables, who were seated after us, ordered after us, eat and pay their check. We were told many times our food would be out shortly. Unfortunately, after waiting for (2) burgers and (2) salads we were unable to keep waiting as we had a wedding rehearsal to attend. The management and waiter said it was due to a large party having their order in before us. However, we feel it was an unreasonable excuse. I would share a picture, but unfortunately after an hour of waiting we couldn't stay any longer.

Yelp
Palmetto cafe, i adore you and your perfect staff. The staff is so kind, attentive, efficient. Everything you would want for an experience. Every time we visit Charleston, i must do their breakfast buffet. It has become a nonnegotiable. It is so delicious and well done, i would say it triumphs my old favorite breakfast buffet at the four seasons. It is THAT good. The dessert table alone along with the live music, i could stay all day. Each time we have had the sweetest waiters and i look forward to coming back 100 times more.

Yelp
Such a beautiful restaurant and wonderful experience! We had such a great time and our waitress Jackie gave us great service!! The food was delish as well. Highly recommend this restaurant!!

Yelp
Service was awesome, there was a line out the door! I loved the sandwhich I got with sausage egg and cheese and I put it on a croissant.

Yelp
Would definitely recommend The Palmetto Cafe! Excellent breakfast and service. Really classy spot. We enjoyed that it was just downstairs from our room at The Charleston Place too!

Yelp
The restaurant is a great option for a peaceful sit down breakfast. I had the avocado toast which was very good- lots of freshly mashed avocado with frisée and radish on top. The bread was fresh and thickly cut- I would for sure order it again. I went there with some out of town family here for C of C move in. The new college student loves his healthy serving of French Toast! There was no breakfast buffet (maybe it went away during Covid?). The service was great!

Yelp
We live in Charleston and have had many great meals at both the Palmetto cafe and Charleston Grill. Unfortunately today"s brunch was not one of them. We were shown promptly to our table as surprisingly not busy at noon on a Sunday. Then we sat, and sat and sat...From the time we started looking at our watch it was over 5 minutes until we were spoken to...not even any water poured. Our waiter finally came and was very pleasant. We decided on the brunch. (Unfortunately) For $65 per person I would expect many more items...not even any fresh fruit except for hard tasteless melon. 1 salad of Romaine lettuce. Only one vegetable medley and pastries that were dry. Had to ask for butter for the biscuit. The chef at the omelette station needs more practice as when he was flipping my omelette, flipped it halfway out of the pan onto the table where he was cooking. By that time I was over it. The food was about a C at best. When the waiter asked how things were I told him the best thing was the orange juice which was fresh squeezed and delicious. I have eaten at wonderful brunches all over the world and imagine my surprise when the bill came and neither juice nor my coffee was included in the $65 price! We will not be returning. Too many great restaurants in Charleston!

Yelp
Cute cafe, good vibes. The coffee was good, service was great. It's a good place to people watch.

Yelp
Stayed at the Charleston Place and went here a few times for breakfast. The place is busy and you are recommended to make a reservation. We had a mixture of eggs, sausages, bread, and omelettes. The fresh squeezed juice is very good. In general the food is of good quality but it is also a bit prices. At times the service was slow but overall a good experience in a very nice dining room.

Jarret K.

Yelp
Absolutely abysmal service. My fiancé and I went for breakfast and to see the Xmas decorations. The restaurant and the Charleston Place are both supposed to be 4.5 stars. Once seated, we waited for over five minutes to receive any attention from the server in a restaurant that wasn't busy. During the course of the meal we received no "check ins" from our waitress. When she did show up, she was rude and abrupt. We expect to pay a bit more for the service in a place like this. At one point the manager walked by and saw us frustrated and chatted with us, when she heard about our concerns, the manager OFFERED to compensate us when the bill came. Again, we expected to pay in full and pay top dollar for the meal but also receive the service. They sent out a different server for our food who was friendly and helpful but was never seen from again. Then, when the bill came, there wasn't any adjustments as the manager said. We weren't asking for this, but when a manager says they're gonna do something, you expect them to do it. In fact, as we left the restaurant, the manager saw us leaving and they turned around and walked away. What absolutely pitiful service.

Yelp
I was in town for a work conference and decided to reserve a spot for lunch. I love the renewed feel inside The Charleston Place Hotel -- very elegant. My server Andrew was a complete gentleman and I was up in the air for trying something new. He recommended the Catch of the Day -- it was golden tilefish baked and served in a hot Le Creuset stoneware dish. It happened to be raining on and off that day so it went perfect with the weather. I only took away one star because the actual recipe was bland. However, I loved the presentation, the fresh homemade bread to start, along with the hospitality!

Yelp
Palmetto Cafe did not disappoint. Tried the Turkey Club and Gem Salad with grilled chicken, they were outstanding! Great service from John. Would recommend giving it a shot, it's a beautiful r

Yelp
On this autumn Saturday, their garden courtyard with a creative mix of tropical foliage, ivy and fall leaves on a Japanese Maple, was a welcome spot for lunch. A slight breeze and the music of the trickling water from the tiered fountain were the frosting on the cake. My Zing Zang based Bloody Mary was good with a slight heat. Hubs choice of Belmont Charleston Place Punch with dark and coconut rums, fresh juices and pineapple garnish was a delicious "umbrella" type drink. Our shared appetizers were fantastic! The fried oysters were crispy on the outside with soft oyster on the inside. The remoulade sauce was a perfect accompaniment blend of dill, whole grain mustard, chives and mayonnaise. Wow! So good! The Jumbo Lump Crab cake was equally fabulous served on a fresh a compliment of a bed of black eyed peas, cucumber, and charred peppers. Yum! Salads were the choice for our courtyard lunch. The Caesar Salad, $28, is served with a choice of grilled shrimp, seared diver scallops, grilled chicken or fried oysters. An exquisite, unique presentation of shaved Parmesan , anchovies and romaine greens in a thin, crispy toasted bread shell. The Jumbo Crab Salad,$42, was equally exquisite and a heaping helping of jumbo lump crab meat on top of a bed of a variety of cherry tomatoes, citrus wedges, avocado with a sesame dressing. It was crowed with a sesame cracker and tobeeko Caviar. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
Most bizarre experience,EVER! Abbreviated version - horrible service, waiter never came around to clear plates, refill drinks, or just check in during the entire 90 minutes our party of 10 was dining. Started service by accusing us of lying about the age (12) of one of the minors, culminated with him trying to steal $500 from two of us paying cash and threatening to fist fight one of the guys in our party. Appeared to be impaired by drugs, alcohol, or something, can't be sure but he seemed pretty out of it. BIZARRE!!! In the end, the manager ended up comping our meals. Not sure what happened to the waiter after two other employees physically removed him from our area. What a memorable 70th birthday celebration! Photos of table before the huge ruckus - as you can see not a plate was cleared.

Yelp
My fiancé and I came to Palmetto Cafe for Easter Brunch and it did not disappoint! The food was top notch! Our server Hal provided beyond 5 star service, he was so nice, kind and welcoming. I can not express how beautiful the restaurant was, all of the fresh flowers really put a mark on the experience. We enjoyed the caviar service, it was wonderful!!! My favorite was the carving stations, the meat was perfect! I tried a crab cake (from the Benedict station haha) it may have been the best crab cake I have had. The dessert stations were so special, I wish my son was with us because he would have truly enjoyed it, I did for him though. I strongly suggest if they are open to try and make a reservation!

Yelp
We were staying at the Belmond hotel right upstairs and were starving, so we decided to try out this restaurant. We were seated right away, and they brought out cute coloring books for our kids. Our server, Meredith, was so wonderful! She always had a happy smile on her face, and was attentive! We ordered the palmetto sampler, shrimp and grits, kids hot dog, and kids pasta. Overall the food was great! The crab cake was all fresh crab and only enough filler to hold it together. The burger was juicy and flavorful and the soup was rich with great flavors. The chicken salad and kids pasta were not good. The chicken was dry and over cooked. The kids hot dog was delicious! We finished our meal with cookies and milk for the kids, creme brûlée, and bread pudding. All such delicious choices.

Yelp
This restaurant first got me with its decor and ambience. The interior is very modern with some fine rustic touches. Because of how the place is designed with all the windows and a ceiling that is half glass, you get tons of natural lighting here during the day. This place also has its own entrance to the little community courtyard with a fountain. I highly recommend coming here during the day if you can, however I am confident the venue is quaint at night as well. The complimentary bread and bread "chip" came with a 3-butter spread: 1) olive-butter, 2) tomato-based 3) avocado basil. Very good!!! I came with a group of 5. Two of us ordered the Palmetto sampler, which was probably one of the best sampler platters I've ever seen and tried. Yes, I was lucky enough to try my boyfriend's sampler platter. The she crab bisque came in a little cup that resembled an Expresso cup and was divine. The server even added a bit of sherry to it to give it more depth. The burger meat was succulent and juicy. I didn't even bother eating the bun so I could save room for my shrimp and grits after savoring the beef. This leads me to my dish - the shrimp and grits. They give you a choice of yellow or white grits. The grits are on the saucy side (versus the thick cake version), which I preferred. There was a tomato based sauce on top of the grits, with the shrimp embedded on top. I added hot sauce and jalapeños since I like my shrimp and grits on the spicy side. It was delicious!! One of my friends ordered the Caesar salad which came with a selection of fried oysters, fried shrimp, or something else (scallops, I think).. First of all the presentation was out of this world. The "crouton" was one large piece of toasted bread that formed a wall or fortress around the salad (see photos). From the side view, I almost thought it was a cake at first! She liked it because the anchovies and Parmesan cheese were served on the side so she could dose out how much of each to incorporate into the salad. The fried oysters she ordered with it were divine. Several of us ordered their freshly made peach tea which only comes unsweetened. If you like it sweet, ask for some simple syrup to pour some thick sugar water into your tea. Refreshing! Afterwards two of us ordered a cup of Expresso. With the Expresso came a little stick of "rock candy". How delectable and cute! We all absolutely loved this place for its ambience, quality of food, attention to detail, and service! John was our server and was very accommodating and proactive.

Yelp
Decided on this place for breakfast when my boyfriend and I were in town and we loved it! They had excellent service which is a plus and the food was delicious. I also loved how airy the space was, it was indoors but because of the amount of light that comes into the area it felt like we were outdoors on a terrace which I loved!
google avatar

Sean R.

Yelp
Best eggs Benedict I ever had! A must try!! I also have blueberry waffles here that we're also out of this world. If you're in Charleston you got a check this place out for breakfast. There was no wait and we'll set immediately at 10 AM on Sunday. Two thumbs up
google avatar

Lynn D.

Yelp
If I could leave 0, I would. Absolutely worst service I have ever experienced. Sat down at 11:30 and our appetizers arrived at 12:15. Main course arrived at 12:50. We had to ask for bread several times before it was finally served. We were all very disappointed especially my elderly parents. First people seated, last served. Won't be back.

Yelp
I really liked the Palmetto Café. It's got great indoor and outdoor seating, lots of light, excellent service, delicious breakfast bar and excellent Sunday brunch-breakfast bar. The coffee is French pressed, the staff attentive, the food is plentiful and hot as well as seasoned perfectly. This restaurant is located in the Belmond Hotel and the easiest entrance is on Meeting Street. They serve breakfast and lunch and depending on the time of day, I advise making a reservation.
google avatar

Anne P.

Yelp
Possibly the best hotel cafe on the planet! The Palmetto Cafe is located inside the Charleston Belmond, serves the best shrimp and grits ever! For lunch, their fresh bread is served with a trio of butters that are the best I ever had! They also have really good brunch buffet that's not too expensive. Just don't get too carried away by the bellinis!

Yelp
I'm just going to begin with this; what an experience. With a place like this, It's somewhat difficult to begin, but the atmosphere was the first thing that popped into my mind. The place was clean, with an entire selection of complimentary appetizers, all of it was amazing. The entrees were also nice with foods that were simply stunning, coming with the best condiments I've had my whole life, the best teas, and the best server serving it all. But while the food was fancy, it was flavorless, relying on the spectacle and plating over the taste. And I get that, but if that's not for you, there are always other options. If you can get past that though, this place is really good and if you have the money and are in the area, treat yourself here. It's truly something else.
google avatar

Julie A.

Yelp
Arrived at the hotel during a rainstorm. Decided to grab a meal inside the hotel versus walking in the rain. Definitely disappointed. The burger was so dry, not much flavor and the shrimp and lobster had so much mixed seasoning that the flavor was lost. Service was good. But with so many surrounding choices, take the walk outside.

Anne H.

Yelp
Our experience here was absolutely delightful. We were able to walk in and get sat with Rudy, who was so fun and attentive. Two of us split the southern style eggs Benedict and eggs Norwegian, for which everything was cooked perfectly and blended well together. I had the blue plate and also enjoyed it, everything was excellent. Definitely would recommend!
google avatar

Ashley K.

Yelp
Not a bad place but not our favorite. We went when brunch was supposed to be served and they only had a buffet brunch. However they still had their normal brunch menu out so it was very confusing as to why it was not offered. The lunch was okay. Got a caesar salad and added chicken. Don't like that the chicken wasn't cut up (was a whole huge breast). It also didn't seem too busy but it kept taking our waitor forever to come back with things. Overall the location was great and aesthetic and they did give us a nice surprise at the end as a congratulations on being engaged. Would probably not return though.

Yelp
We visited the palmetto cafe for a snack and a drink. My son ordered pasta and said he enjoyed it, but I only got a drink. My review is mainly on service and speediness of such. We were brought a bread basket that was baked daily and made for a nice little snack for me. My drink was as expected and nothing super fancy (as I didn't expect it to be). All in all this was a nice convenient location and had a nice dining room.

Harvey S.

Yelp
great hotel! the best service - the food was outstanding!! we will be back! i had shrimp gumbo wit andouille!!

Yelp
This is a white table cloth restaurant that is surprisingly child friendly. John, our waiter recommended the new seasonal Chai cocktails and they were AMAZING! It's like a boozy iced chai latte garnished with a cinnamon stick. The fries were flavorful, hot and crispy. I'd say the best entree we ordered was the Palmetto sampler. The portions were perfect and it includes a slider, - crab cake, fries, she crab soup, and chicken salad. The vegetable linguine was also perfectly proportioned and creamy but could have used a little more heat or seasoning. The texture was on point. I enjoyed how the portions were gent but not huge. They also serve warm assorted rolls to the tables. Fresh bread is always win for me. John was attentive and knowledgeable.

Yelp
I love this chic, sunny, welcoming place! From host stand and Lily's greeting to my lovely server Ariana, everyone was as hospitable as you would expect if you've had any experience with the Charleston Place staff. My breakfast was awesome- I rarely get lox and bagels but went for it today. Splurged a little with the regular cream cheese (they don't serve low fat) but limited eating my entire (perfectly toasted, btw) sesame bagel and enjoyed extra sliced tomatoes on the side. The noise level was a perfect low hum ... and the French press coffee in my choice of vanilla was delicious too! I would love to return for lunch, and certainly recommend it as a breakfast spot (there's a large and varied menu, as well as a generous buffet) for anyone right in the Market area.
google avatar

Tanya T.

Yelp
Beautiful and upscale dining room. I loved the coffee that comes French press style to your table and to your liking. You can pick from light, medium or dark roast which means everyone gets their coffee the way they like it. I also like that the center tray had fresh cream, sugar cubes and anything else you might need all there. Our food was delicious and a feast for the eyes as well with an orchid on each plate. I had the Tuscan egg sandwich. Delicious but slightly salty for me. If you want a classy dining experience check this place out.

Yelp
We stumbled upon the Palmetto Cafe looking for an outdoor option for a late Saturday lunch and were blown away! The courtyard is filled with greenery and a large fountain, making for a relaxing environment with safely separated tables (more than 6 feet). The peach cocktails were superb, and we started with a crab cake that was fantastic (just be warned it is much smaller than you might expect if sharing!) My boyfriend and I both got Caesar salads which were delicious as well. Also important to note that our server was incredibly friendly and courteous. So happy we found this spot while in Charleston!

Yelp
Every year when we come to Charleston we never miss having lunch here. The food and cocktails are amazing! This year I had the shrimp and lobster tacos. Amazing! My uncle had the seafood club salad. Wow. The best of all was something I didn't expect. The mushroom soup. It had just a slight Taste of truffle. Oh my oh my it was heaven I usually get the courtesan for a drink Which is honestly my favorite cocktail ever!! This time I also tried the humming bird, rosé champagne saint Germaine and Campari. Heaven again Our waiter John was such a doll as was James at the front desk. This is why we come back again and again.. Thank you!!!

Yelp
The park café is a very nice place to eat breakfast I come here to treat myself to an elegant morning meal and Buffet is to die for it has everything on there and I must say it's top-notch of coarse located in the exquisite Belmont Hotel it lives up to its reputation. I normally get the buffet when I come here because of course you can take numerous amount of trips back to indulge but my picture shows that I did avail myself to the menu after several times wearing out the buffet the spinach and cheese omelette was very very good. You get to see people from all over the world that staying at the hotel if you come early morning parking is easy as long as you finish before nine you don't have to pay for parking.

Yelp
We went with brunch on Saturday. Everything was so so good. I have gone to many different hotels including Fairmont hotel and st. Regis and ritz carlton for buffet style brunch but this one was sitting on top. Ambiance is so nice and our attendant Jacque was so so nice and 5 star for the cleanliness, food and service. Only thing was one party of patrons brought their dog to this gorgeous place and sat it on top of their seat. So Unsanitary Thankfully attentive manager stopped him from doing such ignorant thing. So thank you. Beautiful rose and amazing coffee. I can go on and on!

Yelp
We chose this restaurant as our last breakfast meal in Charleston, mainly because they were one of the few places open around 6am. Situated inside Belmond Charleston Place and featuring an upscale open decor with floor to ceiling windows and a green courtyard. Service was friendly and prompt despite the early morning. Many attractive dishes on the menu. Coffee was nothing to really talk about, bland and boring. My husband ordered the blueberry pancakes which he loved. The star of the show for me was the Palmetto omelette with fresh chunks of lobster and lumped crab meat. The flavor of the egg and seafood married well with mozzarella cheese and the addition of spring onions. Very filling dish. Glad we went with the recommendation of the staff.

Yelp
What a perfect location for breakfast or an afternoon lunch. Bright large windows filled with sunlight and delicious Peach Ice Tea Delicious culinary offerings to select from, with a mountain of gourmet breads and 3 selections of infused butters. I selected the sampler, providing a select of She Crab Soup, Crab cake & 21 prime burger, along with a basket of crisp fires. Service was wonderful, with the staff being attentive to every detail. Thank you for allowing me to feel so welcome, I shall return.

Yelp
My 7 year old daughter Dylan insisted on having lunch here, but I had some hesitations. I was expecting it to be a little snooty and kid UNfriendly. Palmetto Cafe proved otherwise! The hostess greeted us and asked Dylan if she would like a coloring book and crayons. Addressing kids as equal guests scores major points. Kids tend to stand up taller and behave better. We snagged a table next to the bright windows overlooking the outdoor gardens. A fresh cut rose is placed on a table draped in crisp white cloth. Peach tea is served with a fresh slice of peach and complemented with a dainty carafe of simple syrup. Ahh... It's the little things. Food is on point. Bread service includes a varied assortment with a triple layered butter of sun-dried tomatoes, Kalamata olives and basil pesto. Yah! First timers should try the Palmetto Sampler---portions of crab cake, she-crab soup, chicken salad, "21" burger and fries. Dylan had the kids grilled cheese and fresh fruit garnished with a small purple flower. Again, the little things... Was it cheap? Not really. However if you wanna dine in a setting reminiscent of a Jane Austen novel and give your kid an adulting experience, it's totally worth it. Props to our server Ms. Ruthie!

Yelp
BEST EVER BREAKFAST BUFFET OF MY LIFE. That being put out into the open, this place was buzzing at 9 am, sunlight in a beautiful court at the Belmont Charleston Place hotel. My fellow diners ordered a la carte items, eschewing the buffet on the fact that it was a buffet alone. But I perused the options and gave it a look-see and saw it would be the best value on the menu. Everything in the buffet was fresh. They had the usual standards: eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. But also low-country fare like their delicious shrimp and grits, the roux based sauce was salty and deliciousness the grits were perfectly cooked. Also, the cheese blintzes. Oh. My. God. With a hint of orange rind these things were over the top delicious. The buffet also included smoked salmon, capers, cherry tomatoes, baby mozzarella, perfectly petite slices of watermelon, and much more. The Bloody Mary was good, too. A fine way to wake up, and totally worth the $30-ish dollar tab.
