Homestyle breakfasts, burgers, salads, great service, park views

"Situated next to Liberty Park, this neighborhood spot serves homestyle breakfast and lunch in a small but inviting space, whether you grab a seat at the diner-style counter or opt for a table with friends. The Park Café’s crowd is eclectic, from groups of 20-somethings nursing hangovers, to Real Salt Lake players, to hip parents with toddlers who can already ski better than you. The service here is fast and attentive, partly to turn over tables beneath the crush of busy crowds and weekend lines. Notable dishes include the biscuits and gravy as well as the breakfast platter known as French Toast Foolishness, but be sure to check out the whiteboard for daily specials (look out for the huevos rancheros topped with pork chile verde goodness). Must-try dish: If you want to order like a local, complete your meal with a chai latte and add cheese to your grilled park potatoes, a side on many of the dishes." - Sarah Entwistle

"I note that this Park Slope stalwart diner closed after more than two decades in the neighborhood; a sign announcing the permanent closure was posted in the window." - Eater Staff
"The Park Cafe’s fried egg sandwich has a loyal following of breakfast enthusiasts. The avocado, egg, cheddar, and bacon stack makes more appearances on Instagram feeds than Kim Kardashian. And, why not, the natural lighting in the restaurant is perfect for food photos." - Parker Milner

"Wagener Terrace eatery The Park Cafe not only features one of the most sought-after egg sandwiches around, but it also offers access to the internet. If work requires something more substantial than the normal coffee shop fare, stop by this sunny space for a full menu of breakfast/lunch choices, along with coffee classics and cold brew creations." - Erin Perkins
