"For a feast of potato skins, boxty pancakes with smoked salmon, and a loaf of house-baked Irish soda bread, order from Parkside Tavern. You can also grab cocktails, like the Golden Delicious (whiskey, apple pucker, and pineapple juice) or the Dubliner (whiskey, ginger beer, lime, and bitters). While checking out spots for Alameda Restaurant Week, I spent some time at The Park Street Tavern documenting their specialties. The presentation of their dishes impressed me instantly. They've got this newly renovated space with European vibes and a glowing Italian marble bar that creates a genuinely romantic atmosphere. The flattering lighting makes it perfect for dates, and their cozy fireplace adds great winter vibes. It's a friendly bar offering a lot of creative, chef-driven dishes - small plates that pack remarkable flavor. Everything tastes notably fresh, especially their seafood and pasta dish that really popped in my mouth with surprising, bright flavors.

$140 dinner including tax and tip for 2 people and the quality was not worth the cost imo. The short rib was dry and mashed potatoes lackluster. I liked that the fettuccini was freshly made. Most things undersalted. Overall mediocre execution but good quality ingredients. Our server went above and beyond to make me a mocktail and get a corner booth with our reservation though so I appreciate that! They also have the coolest bartop I've ever seen, like lit up quartz or something haha

My husband and I have been a few times, mostly for cocktails. They have a solid cocktail menu, and we love chatting with Ben and the other bartender (I can't remember his name, tall, bald, glasses), who is also fantastic. They both make great drinks. We finally had dinner there for my husband's birthday, which happened to fall on a Monday, and good luck finding nice restaurants open on Mondays. Ana was our server and highly recommended the watermelon salad. She was right. It was amazing. Ana served us again two weeks later with friends on the bar side, also good food and great service. For the birthday dinner both ordered steak. He got the filet and I had the rib eye. After being disappointed by the last four or five steaks I’ve had at restaurants, I was thrilled this one was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I’ve lived in Alameda for 12 years, and I can’t believe it took us this long to get to this restaurant and bar. Great staff, great food, great cocktails, happy hour specials. We’ll definitely be back.

Chris and Alex and their incredible staff helped make our gathering for the Celebration of Life of my family member go so smoothly. Everything was set up and ready by noon even though we weren't arriving until 12:30pm. The food was amazing (as usual) and we definitely did not run out of anything. Thank you Park Street Tavern for your wonderful service and food. My family is very happy (especially Mom, which is all that really counted anyway) and we highly recommend them!

We went to have dinner after the art and wine fair. It was very busy and the staff were great. The food was pricy, and for 2 drinks, 2 appetizers, and 1 entree, it was 100 bucks. My only issue was with the deep-fried Calimari. It was so rubbery and hard to chew. By far, the worst I have had in my life. That is the only negative. My pasta was great, the drinks were delicious, and the garlic bread was good.

Google
Food was amazing and services was outstanding. A bit loud but the place was bustling. Enjoyed cocktails, 3 course menu with a great wine selection. Enjoyed with close friends for a birthday dinner and will be returning with family next week

Google
Food was underwhelming, a bit bland. Pretty sure just about everything is made from scratch, but somehow still mediocre. They did not have the gnocchi on the menu for my visit which was half the reason I came. Overall not worth the price. I get the impression they could do better but don't because the owner is too lazy or busy to come in often for quality checks and the patrons are old and don't know any better, and so are perfectly happy with their dry short ribs reminiscent of a crock pot roast. Might come back just for drinks. The bar looked cool. Specific critiques of my short rib: -dry and stringy, obviously overcooked -only braised completely submerged, no evidence of broiling. Looked like it had been out of the braising liquid for a while and so the outside had hardened a bit. Exterior not very appetizing. -demiglace I think was primarily better than bullion. Kind of thin also. I do not think they added butter, wine, or herbs to it, so it was very one note. - Spinach was watery and the garlic too pungent. Would be better creamed for something like this. -mashed potatoes were flavorless. Not enough butter or cream. No garlic or other seasonings could be detected. -everything was undersalted. Even the butter that came with the bread. -the plate was not heated and the food got cold quickly I list all these in the hopes they will be fixed. Honestly, most require almost no effort, just better quality control. I don't think I'm out of line expecting this given the price. If you have Disneyland kind of money to throw around to see if a restaurant is a fun time, check it out. Maybe you will come on a better day.

Setting the scene: went on a Friday evening; 7:30 reservation. They have a covered tent space with heaters and cute lights set up in their parking lot. Food came at 8:30 Shrimp scampi was delicious. The sausage appetizer is good, the sauce is super tasty, the homemade tzazeki was okay. The lamb gyro was okay as well. I think the lamb seasoning doesn’t resemble what I know lamb gyro to be. The curly fries were good though. My pear martini was super good. The pear taste in the martini was very refreshing to have. Finished eating around 8:45. Got check at 9:05 Service was extremely slow. Either this is how eating out has always been and I just am not accustomed to it another because I don’t eat out much, if at all these days. The staff was nice, just slow.

Yelp
The food and service from Lawrence was second to none. The recommended Cab - Wild Horse was delicious. Thank you to the Team for the warm welcome. We are definitely coming back. ~Salvador

Yelp
We were initially drawn to this place because they do not use any seed oils in any of their cooking. We placed an order online on a Sunday. When we got into the restaurant to pick up our order, they could not find it. The waiter said he'd go check in the back for me to see what was up. While I was waiting, two other waiters checked in to see how I was doing and if I needed any help. Turns out, our order was somehow cancelled, the owner, Chris, introduced himself to us, set the order up, and gave us a free drink. The food was very good and customer service was amazing. We'll be back!

Yelp
I don't even know where to start! I've eatin hundreds of steaks in my 36 years, ranging from Texas road house to the finest Wagyu I can get paws on, this fillet I ate here last night was other worldly!!! The tendernesss, the flavor, the juices, I can go on and on about it. Then the asparagus- I dont even really like aspergaus, but this was so amazing I ate each one. The calamari was 8.75 out of 10 which is impressive don't get me wrong, I'm sure it wasn't caught out back less then 10 minutes before I got there which I've had an that gets the full 10/10 as far as calamari goes, however the crisp on the crunchy part is perfectly cooked. Now - the best part of it all- I am a HUGE bread and butter guy. Whipped butter is forever King- so they of course know that and provide it but but but THE BREAD!!! (Which is free mind you) is freshly baked and served right out the oven. And is of the utmost perfection!!! Now combine all that with a very attentive server(s) and wow what a hidden gem alameda has. The outside of the building doesn't do it justice. But once you step inside it's decorated beautiful + has a nice size bar. Just do yourself the favor and try them out. Don't forget if you're a steak guy like me GET THE FILET!! Omg I'd be lying if I said I wasn't going back AGAIN-tonight to get the exact same meal again lol.

Yelp
Very cool local spot in Alameda! Classic American food, with a classy vibe. Great date night!

Yelp
We came for their pre fixe menu for restaurant week. Great welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff-our waitress, Ana and our server, Blake were great! We ordered the beet salad and Caesar salad, the beef braciole (with tomato orzo) and sea scallops (with pesto risotto), as well as the chocolate temptation cake and pistachio ricotta cake. Ample portions and tasty dishes. The complimentary bread and butter were also delicious! We came on a Sunday evening around 530 and most of the restaurant was full.

Yelp
Came here on a weekend to celebrate a birthday and the servers were attentive and the food was served promptly. My partner ordered the gnocchi with squash and mushroom and I ordered the lamb. The portion for the pasta was generous. There were other tables that also had larger groups and seemed to be celebrating. Overall, nice hospitality.

Yelp
I absolutely love the Park Street Taverns Bacon wrapped shrimp! So damn delicious and they are served on a bed of baby arugula with drizzled lemon beurre blanc. Went here to celebrate a belated birthday and started at the bar and never left to our table. The highly skilled bartenders were so much fun we preferred to eat our dinner at the bar. The Park Street Tavern is a cozy and casual dining option if you're in the mood for yummy Greek or Italian inspired cuisine. Definitely an Alameda gem! They also have plenty of parking in their lot behind the restaurant.

Yelp
Service and food were stellar! The beef stroganoff was the best my brother and husband have ever had and they were talking about it for days! It's nice they have a dedicated parking lot in the back so it's not the usual mess trying to find parking on Park St. All in all, a lively place and we can't wait to go back!

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants! Love that they give you bread. Bread is so good! I love the food here. It is so delicious and you know that everything is fresh. The customer service is great and the place is so cute and cozy. We come here a lot to celebrate birthdays or many special occasions.

Yelp
I've always drove past this restaurant but have never came in to check it out. I really enjoy the ribeye steak! They also give you complimentary bread with butter. Service was great! They also have a parking lot so very convenient.

We've been going to The Park Street Tavern for years now. Good food, mostly reasonably priced, and first-class service in a comfortable environment. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I came here for a special occasion on a rainy Sunday night. Overall, the city of Alameda was very sleepy and most people were staying home in order to stay dry. It was my husband's 35th birthday and he really wanted a yummy steak dinner, but did not want to venture too far. I had this place bookmarked after watching the local PBS show Check Please, Bay Area! We started our meal with two house margaritas which the bartender is very generous with their pour. My husband chose the fried calamari, beet salad, crabcake appetizers to start. The fried calamari I feel could use a little bit of a harder fry as it was more chewy than crunchy. The crabcakes were very flavorful, and after trying them from their namesake of Baltimore, there is no replica. The beet salad was a complete curveball. There were thick cuts of beets on a bed of feta cheese with arugula salad raspberry or strawberry dressing and some other veggies. I'm not the biggest beat lover, and this salad has me wanting to come back! There's something about the feta cheese and the beets that really combine perfectly. For our main dishes, my husband opted for the ribeye steak, cooked rare, yes, that's right, rare. It's not for everyone but for a good steak it is one of the best ways to eat it. It was fire grilled had the perfect sear on the outside and the perfect amount of rare without being raw. I opted for the lamb chops, which was on this delicious mint yogurt sauce with an array of roasted vegetables, such as tomatoes, potatoes, and cauliflower, along with an arugula salad mix. This was my first time trying lamb chops and I have been wanting more ever since. I would absolutely recommend this place for a classic Greek American dinner with the feel of a small local pub/Tavern.

Yelp
Great service and food is served fresh not to mention delicious. Lighting is subtle that goes along the music.

Yelp
It has been a while since we have been here. We got confused when you took over in 2018. The employees implied the same ownership but just remodeled??? Sorry for the very late review and if I find my pictures, I will post later. Quality/Quantity - Overall the food is good. Better than the previous ownership. The place also looks better. Ribeye - Cooked well. I was worried that I was not able to finish but it was not an issue. And I am a light eater, so that might say something. Greek Lentils - My healthy buddy's choice and he said it was good. He also finished his meal. Atmosphere - Decent size restaurant. Open 7 days a week from 4-9pm, dinner only. You used to be open for lunch...? I'm told you have a small parking lot...? Street parking is not an issue for us. Service - Just okay. Price - Above average. For these prices, I expect the food to be a little better. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2018.

Yelp
Fabulous! Simply fabulous! Can't believe this was my first time here! You can't judge this book by its cover. It is a hidden gem!!! Lovely dinner, service was excellent and food was fantastic! I am a Keto/low carb jerk right now, and this dinner was a dream! We loved the pancetta wrapped prawn app! Super good. And I had the ribeye and they let me sub in cauliflower for the fries. It was the perfect Keto meal. Steak was cooker perfectly. The cauliflower and arugula side dish was absolutely delicious. They also made me a lovely martini and was terrific wine selection. This place is a gem. We will be coming back often and I highly recommend!

Yelp
Just a MAJOR HINT: Make the cook taste his food before serving it; Id never serve this BLAND food to Family, Friends Food was Scampi Capellini (Maybe the regular cook was gone.) Capellini had hardly any flavor The dish was extremely watery like the pasta was not drained. Overpowering taste of lemon juice. Cherry tomatoes were overcooked and were mushy. Basil and garlic would have made it for flavor. Freshly grated Parmesan cheese wasn't offered but would have made the food more palatable. I'm over 70 but my tastebuds are as good as when I was 20

Serena N.

Yelp
Very welcoming and Anna was very attentive and personable. Very homey. The menu was versatile and the food was superb and the amount of food on the plate was more than I eat in one sitting so I had enough for brunch the next day . I would definitely go there again .
google avatar

Lily M.

Yelp
This is a Greek eatery establishment, I went in to for a Cobb salad. They used chicken souvlaki as the protein and it was very tasty. I wanted blue cheese and ranch for my dressing . Overall it was a good choice to eat.

Yelp
Been here twice and solid food, friendly helpful staff and welcoming atmosphere. Would come back again!

Yelp
Never judge a book by its cover! The building is very unassuming and at first didn't even find the door. Might be, because they are renovating part of the place right now. I actually wanted to get a reservation at Town Tavern (which is also on Park Street) but mixed those two places up, haha. Couldn't be happier about this "mishap". So, we came here for a date night and this place is soooooo nice and cozy. Great food and service. We had steak and an appetizer plate as well as a lovely, quite boozy cocktail (Tavern Margarita). All top notch. The lady who was our server was very attentive and checked back with us regularly throughout the dinner. Right now, this end of Park has a lot of construction going on, so parking is a nightmare. But if you're willing and able to walk a few blocks, you're good. In any case, it's worth it!
google avatar

Yelp
From the street I was not sure what to expect, but I was amazed when I walked inside. A cozy and inviting atmosphere where everyone was kind and helpful. The Greek sausage was amazing and the cocktails were tasty too!

Yelp
A true class act! The Park Street Tavern is owned by a lovely Greek family. The ambiance is magical with their lit fireplace when you walk in. Their menu is amazing, with fun Greek appetizers like dolmas and halloumi cheese. The entree menu is complete with lamb, filet mignon and fish. This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Alameda. It covers all the bases of a classy dinner spot, delicious food and a professional friendly staff. Highly recommend! :)

Yelp
Visiting from out of town and staying close to the neighborhood- The Park Street Tavern was an amazing find! We called ahead to see if reservations were needed and the person on the phone was kind, friendly, and gave us a table for two within the hour. When we arrived we knew we had found a gem, the bar area was filled with smiling and laughing patrons, cheering with full cocktails and raving about the food they had just had. We were met with a smiling face at the door and taken to our table immediately. The ambiance is wonderful- definitely an old school vibe, with eclectic art/decor on the walls that made it feel like a cozy spot I'd been to times before. Our server arrived to the table and all I have to say is WOW ANTONIO! He was WONDERFUL. Smiling, chatting, menu recommendations, drink recommendations, he was exactly the face we wanted to see at our table. We started with the beet salad and the wedge- both absolutely delicious, tried and true starters full of flavor and just enough difference to make it their own. Our entrees were the salmon w/risotto and the chicken piccata. Again, menu staples but cooked well, full of flavor, and absolutely satisfying. We finished off dinner with the lemon torte. This was spectacular! Not too sweet, not too sour- the perfect blend of citrus, almond, and berry. When it came to the drinks- they were above and beyond! The Sazerac was exceptional, definitely warned you up on the cold evening, and the non-alcoholic Cherry Lime Royale hit all the notes of a well made cocktail- sweet, tart, refreshing, and the rosemary added an extra I was not expecting- but delightfully delicious. I highly recommend this establishment, and if you can request to sit in Antonios section! You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Exquisite ! From the food being beautifully cooked in Tallow to amazing service! Wonderful experience with a lovely staff! I haven't been to the Tavern in years and what was I thinking. A place that doesn't hold back at every bite. Enjoy!

Yelp
First time visiting this place. Ordered the meatballs, capellini, and pawns. My husband had the steak, spinach and mashed potatoes. The food was mediocre. This was something we chose off of yelp on a spare the moment, why not type of thing. Besides the food being mediocre we got watched like a hawk the whole time. All eyes were on us and not for a good reason. All the staff were watching us so much I lost my appetite. I don't think they were used to a diverse crowd. I probably won't visit this place again, hopefully that take this feedback and incorporate it into making the environment more welcoming for EVERYONE. Despite all I still left a generous tip just because the waiter already expected us not to.

Maggie L.

Yelp
The food is always excellent, and the drinks are out of this world. The staff are very gracious and attentive as well. We've been going to this spot for years and have never been disappointed!'

Yelp
I took myself on a me date and it was a lovely experience. The bread alone will get me to come back but the winner was the quinoa salad. It was so fresh and bright. The server was attentive made sure everything was to my liking.

Yelp
Great fast and friendly service. Food was very good. Would eat here again. Stop by and give it a try

Yelp
The prefect pre holiday dinner with friends. First inside is a charming bar, where we were greeted by the host. We were seated at a nice, thick wood table, very earthy and homey. (I would love it in my dining room) Our server, Lawrence was 5 star professional, friendly and knowledgeable. He knew when to be attentive and even asked if we wanted to enjoy our cocktails and appetizer before starting our main order and waited for each course to be served. We started with fresh, hot bread, and Creamy Mushroom soup of the day and the Mediterranean Dip Trio ( tzatziki, roasted garlic humus, muffuletta olive tapenade with pita). Delicious! For entrees I had the Beef Short Ribs (sautéed spinach, onions, and mashed potatoes with demi-glaze ) It was tender, perfectly cooked but could have had a bit more Demi-glaze. Mashed potatoes needed seasoning but were very creamy. My bf had the 8oz Filet Mignon, served with au gratin potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts . Perfectly cooked beef. Au gratin potatoes were delicious. Obviously I enjoyed his dinner a little more. Our friends had the Ribeye which looked amazing with crispy onion rings on top and the Braised beef Stroganoff with tender beef and fettuccine in a creamy mushroom sauce. For dessert we shared the Greek Coffee Crème brûlée (so creamy and good) and a scoop of vanilla ice cream with Greek cherry sauce (amazing sauce). A true dining experience

Yelp
OMG - get in here for the Greek lentils, one of the best vegetarian dishes you'll have anywhere! Our server Phoebe was attentive and friendly. I've been coming here since they first opened; the newly remodeled bar and the updated dining room definitely make Park Street Tavern a destination spot.

Yelp
Where has this restaurant been hiding! My niece found this for dinner to celebrate her sister's 40th Birthday. The food was fantastic! Our waitress was so nice and very professional, she did a great job since there are 18 in our family- she had her hands full plus 2 other groups. We brought a cake, which they charge for cutting and serving but it well worth it. Great service, close to home, and food was delicious! We will be back !

Yelp
Quite the pleasantry! This place is top-notch, from the service to the entrees. First, I want to thank our server, Mr. Laurence for his calm demeanor and friendly service. As for the food, my date and I were in heaven--culinary heaven. While I usually keep my dining simple, I had to try the appetizers. Them shrimps and that octopus had our mouths watering and our tummies full. I knew we were in for a treat when our servers asked if the two of us could handle 3 entrees and 2 appetizers. We were thinking more so with our stomachs and not our brains! We went with the short ribs and the rack of lamb. The meat just falls off once the fork hit it. And please try the sauces! Take a moment to dip everything in the sauces on the plate. Yes, this place was upscale, featuring a crowd of retired folks. With a teacher's salary, I may have spent my "fun" funds this month but who could pass up lamb! Don't be offended if you and your date eat in silence, only making eye contact to rejoice in the great taste.

Ati L.

Yelp
Outstanding service. Comforting atmosphere & ambiance. The food is so fresh and tasty. Everything is cooked in butter, olive oil or beef tallow. All ingredients are local and the taste phenomenal! This is a staple for my family in the Bay Area. We come at least 4 times a month. You will be very satisfied coming here with your family.

Yelp
The food was great and fresh. I had the salmon piccata it was delicious. Service was prompt efficient they had handicap access which was wonderful and very convenient. Definitely will be going back again.

Yelp
Consistently amazing! Nice remodeled bar, fun bartenders and great food. I come here when I cat sit for a friend and I love that the locals are so friendly. Loving the bar menu when I come after work (I work later shifts and make the happy hour)!

Yelp
What a a surprise! A family location with a great menue to choose from with well prepared food. I highly suggest going here instead of one of the younger established locations in Alameda. This place has been here at least 20 years. We blindly ordered off the menu and each had a pasta/rice dish that was well prepared. Realizing that chefs, cooks, bartenders and wait staff make an experience even though we all know that change like the weather, thus place seems consistent. The place is somewhat compact and dark needing some natural light or having the lights turned up. Belive it or not that is my only negative. Enjoy the food here, bring your family, significant other or sit at the bar. This is a returning place to dine

Yelp
This restaurant is one of my favorite places to eat! Amazing staff and beautiful atmosphere. Food is very good and well cooked. I highly recommend dining here!

Yelp
BEST PORK CHOP I'VE EVER HAD. I'm a pork chop connoisseur and I have always been o the lookout for a solid pork chop. This place understands the intricacies of preparing pork properly. The flavors, texture and balance are all on point. When the pork melts in your mouth and isn't too salty, you know they know what they are doing. WOW! Ambience, service, vibe and comfort all shine at Park Street Tavern! Well done!

Yelp
My husband, son and I had a delicious Thanksgiving dinner at Park Street Tavern this evening. The food was excellent and Antonio our waiter was the best!

Eliza D.

Yelp
Usually it's fantastic food and service ... took away a star because all I could smell was the cleaner they clean the floors with! It was so strong that I couldn't smell the food and it affected the taste. It's the first time I've noticed it, and I think it's because I came later than my usual times (I don't come often but have been here before). Lovely bar remodel, nice atmosphere ... just lose the high power industrial and strong smelling cleaner. PS, every restaurant uses this, so I'm beginning to not eat out as much now)!

Yelp
This is still my fave little date night spot in alameda. Delicious food, good service and great wine list. There is a bar area, but it's never too loud or rowdy. Dining room is surprisingly spacious and doesn't feel crowded. Tonight we had the loukaniko which is always good. The pita bread is so warm and fluffy, and pairs so well with a big scoop of house made tzatziki and a bottle of red wine. We were lucky enough to get the warm bread pudding for dessert. They don't always have it, but when they do you are truly blessed.

We used to dine at this restaurant often when it was under different management and it was great. We decided to try it again recently with friends who like it and have had good experiences. We were underwhelmed. We got unlucky with our server....he was slow and forgetful. And, the food was just ok. Sadly, I forgot to take pictures which I always find helpful. We won't be rushing back.
