The Parlor Dim Sum

We had lunch here with the limited menu on Sunday. The place looks upscale and service was very good. The menu has a decent amount of options, including drinks, as well as having dim sum service. We got a sampler of the three grilled options, I think it was chicken, duck, and pork as well as about 6 dim sum options. The dim sum is priced very affordable between $4-6 and if you weren't starving you could easily make a full meal out of a soup and two or three of these. The menu items were a bit more expensive, but still very fairly priced. Everything was very good, I really couldn't pick out a favorite and it was fun having so many options for a reasonable price. Bathrooms were very clean.

I came to try out their food; knowingly I’m taking a risk. - The food was decent but lack variety in comparison to other Din Sum places I have been to. I came during lunch hour 1 PM on a Saturday, you would expect they have most of their dishes done. - the staff were friendly and knowledgeable - the atmosphere were contemporary but inviting - I do like their wonton noodles - parking can be a pain especially during busy hours - Is it worth the parking and wait? currently, I do not think so, I think the menu should be widely available for guest to try especially on a Saturday afternoon. I believe there is room for improvement.

I came here when they first opened and wasn’t very impressed, but attributed some of that to opening kinks. Came back this past weekend and my opinion stands. They were able to squeeze us in for a 90 minute time slot in between reservations, which was no problem. We ordered some various dim sum, and nothing was really a stand out. The fried taro dumplings were at the top of the list with the pork and chive potstickers. The crispy veggie bao was decent, which was on special. We also tried the bulgogi dumplings with kimchi sauce and they were underwhelming. The rice crepes and remaining choices were unmemorable. For entrees, we got the seafood noodles, which come with a generous amount of seafood but presentation makes it hard to eat. Ho Fun noodles were tasty and so was the Gai Lan broccoli, but disappointed it doesn’t even come with a side of rice. You will pay extra for everything - sauces, rice, etc. Overall not a terrible meal, but there is better Asian in our city!

The place presents itself as high-end, with prices to match, so we expected top-quality food and service. Instead, we got uncooked Dim Sum, watery cocktails, and terrible service. We waited forever for both our drinks and food, and the duck we ordered looked so unappetizing that we ended up canceling it. Every dish we got was shockingly bad. On top of that, the seating was uncomfortable. We had a table booked but decided to sit at the bar instead. I was shocked that there wasn’t even a footrest—nothing on the chairs or the bar—so we sat there with our feet awkwardly dangling the whole time.

I’ve been here twice, and both times there were some things I liked and other things I didn’t like at all. Unfortunately there were more things I didn’t like. I really like the Ho Fun noodles. The steak is great in it. It’s a pretty simple dish, I think a less adventurous person would dig it. The prawns are fried with their head and shell attached. So all of the flavor is on the outside of the shell. I don’t want to eat shrimp shells. It’s not enjoyable to me. Thumbs down. The taro dumplings are warm, with a crispy exterior and soft interior. They were a favorite. The jade dumplings are too chewy. Not a lot of flavor. Not a fan. We got the dessert special. It was flan. It was pretty boring and the texture was too firm, like it was old. The lighting is very dark with weird lights on the wall that remind me of headlights and are kind of blinding in the same way. My friend and I ordered two drinks each and none of them were very good, especially for how expensive they are. This place is pretty expensive for the quality, I think they spend a lot more effort on appearance rather than quality of food. But there are still more things on the menu I want to try, so I’ll probably be back.

I have NO idea how I haven't left a review of my favorite restaurant in the city - and I apologize. I have lost count as to how many times I've been here. I take every person I know... they NEED to experience it. Celebrations, just because... it doesn't matter. The Parlor delivers EVERY TIME. The service is incredible, the atmosphere is so chill, and the food is absolutely the best. You know this place makes everything with love, skill and quality ingredients. Don't sleep on the daily specials and the juicy dumplings... and the cocktails are imaginative and delicious! and the Taro Dumplings are my absolute favorites! If you haven't made a reservation or dropped in late night, do not hesitate. This place is the real deal, and Roger Li and team should be SO proud.

Customer Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The staff were exceptional, especially in handling my shellfish allergy. They provided a separate menu and ensured I knew which dishes contained shellfish, even offering separate serving utensils. The level of care and attention was among the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. Food Highlights: Taro Buns: Our absolute favorite! Sesame Peanut Cold Noodles: Perfect for a summer day. Pork Ribs: Delicious and not too spicy despite the jalapeños. Sauces: They offer several options, including chili oil, classic dim sum sauce, and our favorite, ginger chive. I’d order a pint of the ginger chive sauce by itself! Ambiance: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The ambiance was wonderful, with a beautifully decorated interior that made us worry about the cost (which turned out to be quite reasonable at $6-8 per plate). If you sit in the front room, you get a view of the clean and bustling kitchen, which was a delightful bonus. A Small Gripe: Traditionally, tea is included with dim sum, but here it was $12. While the tea selection was amazing, we were a bit surprised it wasn’t included with the meal. Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone craving dim sum in Pittsburgh. The combination of excellent food, outstanding service, and a pleasant atmosphere makes it a must-visit! 🌟

Very nice atmosphere, I really like the Chinese and western fusion decoration and the majhong wall. The food is alright. Definitely not as good as traditional Cantonese dim sum. The shrimp dumplings taste like Costco frozen. Turnip cake is my favorite, crispy outside and tender inside. Not a traditional turnip cake but love the elevation. Lobster fried noodle was okay. But only few small pieces of lobster but big portion of noodle. Overall love the atmosphere, distinguishes this place from other tradition Chinese restaurant. But little bit of pricy for dim sum.

I almost don't want to post this review because I don't want to share, but it would be a disservice not to let others know just how good The Parlor is. I have been to The Parlor during regular business hours and for their late night menu in the bar area, and it has never once disappointed. The staff are all extremely friendly, and I have never waited long to put in a food or drink order. Their late night menu is one of the best deals in Pittsburgh. For $5 per plate, you can pick from an extensive list of small bites. My favorites are easily the cha siu, the pork riblets, and the jade dumplings. The vibes for the late night specials in the bar area are very chill. They had a live DJ last Saturday evening, but it was the perfect volume and didn't take away from one's conversations. If you're out in Lawrenceville looking for a late night bite on a weekend, or if you just want some amazing dim sum during the week, head down to The Parlor!

This was my first time sitting in the restaurant, and it was during the lunch special. I came in for the congee and came out satisfied with my meal. The dim sum cart service was different than I expected growing up near LA's Chinatown. Here, there was only one cart, and, at least during my dining experience, it was not moving around. It did make sense because the restaurant is small and intimate. The food we got was overall really good, and the ambience did reflect a more upscale dining experience. My main critique is that sauces were $1. Granted the sauces were good, but nothing can warrant having a bar cart service and not having soy sauce included in your meal/experience. I feel like this is unheard of in East Asian restaurants.

Came here for my birthday with some friends. My hubby worked with Mia to arrange some space at the bar area. She was wonderful and the experience was perfect. It was a nice night so they were able to open the window-the area was perfect for mixing and mingling. All of my friends were floored with how delicious the food was. You can taste the freshness as soon as you take a bite.

Omg! I had never been here but I'm so happy to have checked it out. The portions were perfect. The only thing I wish was different is I like a sweet sauce for my spring rolls like a plum or duck sauce and they had dim sum or a chili sauce. Otherwise, this is a perfect stop for solo, friend or date night eats! We just grabbed seats at the bar and got our foodie on.

As per usual, Parlor does not disappoint! Went this week for Lunar New Year (Year of the Snake!) and had a wonderful experience. We started with a bunch of dim sum and then all ordered a meal and shared family style. Dim Sum Favorites: Siu Mai, Cheung Fun (pork or shrimp), Roast Duck Eggroll, and Pork & Chive Potstickers. Tried the Turnip Cake for the first time and it was shockingly good! The Lunar New Year special Shrimp & Scallop Spinach Crystal Dumplings were on point! Entree Favorites: The Duck Fried Rice, Lobster Noodles, Steak Ho Fun, and the Black Pepper Beef Ribs are always favorites and you can't go wrong with the Trio Cantonese BBQ Plate. Dessert Favorites: Egg Tarts and Sesame Balls. The lunar new year Milk Tea Egg Tart with Strawberry Boba was insanely good! Pro tip: Get multiple orders of the marinated cucumbers - you're welcome! Also, I suggest one of all of the sauces to accompany your dim sum or entree. Finally, their cocktail game is next level. Try a cocktail with Baijiu (Chinese liquor). The unique flavor profile will surprise you and its not something you find at most bars. The staff are always friendly, attentive, and accommodating. If you have a dietary restriction/allergy, they are happy to help keep you safe and your stomach full! The ambiance is incredible - from the mahjong tile entrance to the lanterns hanging inside to the neon dragon over the bar...it won't disappoint.

The absolute best food in Pittsburgh! The service is always outstanding and the food comes out so quickly. We went during Lunar New Year and had some of the specials which were so beyond special. We are blessed to have this kind of food in Pittsburgh!

My favorite sit down Asian restaurant in Pittsburgh. Obviously located in the very walkable Lawrenceville neighborhood, so a ton to do before or after. The wonton soup is out of this world and must try especially on a cold winter day. The broth is to die for. Service has been solid when I'm there. Cocktails have been solid. All the food I've had is great but the other stand out for me has been the chai siu roast pork. Duck fried rice also very good

Every second Monday of each month, The Parlor has a happy hour even though they're normally closed on Mondays. This past happy hour was 4-8pm. They offered somewhat smaller but less expensive versions of select menu items (which are normally huge and made to be shared family style) along with most of their dim sum list and with their full bar list. This happy hour was an absolutely steal. My friend and I split the noodle dish, the mapo tofu and rice dish, and a cha siu bao bun dish. We paid $17.78 each with tax and 20% tip which is incredible. The inside is a bit darker right next to the bar area but the area next to the bathrooms is lighter. They had a DJ playing music on the bar - it was a little loud for my taste but that might be someone else's vibe.

Eight years Sunday late afternoon I we decided to do the dim sum cart!! Although the options were good that they had they definitely didn't have a ton of options to choose from. They did have enough to satisfy my dim sum cravings but I wish they had more options than six. It also wasn't hot. It was like lukewarm temperature when you ate it, which is OK it definitely was sitting there for a while before we got there. We also ordered drunken noodles, but it was called something else and it was so delicious and hot. Probably the best I've ever had will definitely be getting that again. The restaurant was clean and the service was really good and it was super busy which was nice.

I can't find any reason to not give this 5 stars! The service was incredible and thorough, the food was flavorful and unique, and the overall atmosphere is perfect for a girls night out or a date night (i loved the music playing!). I'm a big fan of dim sum, so this was great to try so many different things. I also know they regularly change their specials, which is really cool. We got the chrysanthemum juicy chicken dumplings special, which was definitely our favorite order of the night. a CLOSE second were the bao buns. Also all of our cocktails were really great. The prices for everything were fair too!

Food was great! We got Singapore noodles and the dumplings on special (pork and spicy tomato), wings and some drinks. The Singapore noodles were SO good and the dumplings were fabulous. The wings were a little floral for me, but they were not bad. Highly recommend trying this place. On a nice night, sit outside. We will definitely be back!

Cute spot on butler street the service was good and the food was yummy! Potstickers were my favorite!

We stumbled into The Parlor on a Saturday night without a reservation and were immediately seated. The ambiance was nice for a late night; the lighting was dim, they had a comprehensive drink menu, and around 11 pm, there was a DJ that came in and played some house music. It was my friends' first time trying dim sum and our server was incredibly welcoming and willing to explain the different items on the menu. We ordered har gow, 2 orders of cheung fun - one with Chinese broccoli and the other with shrimp, and "The Trio," a huge platter of three different kinds of barbecued meat (duck, chicken, and pork) that came with rice and vegetables. My favorite item was the cheung fun with Chinese broccoli. The rice crepes were perfectly soft and the bitterness of the broccoli worked perfectly with the sauce. This was an impromptu visit, but it did not disappoint and I would definitely recommend it to anyone else looking for dim sum in Pittsburgh!

We went with a group of 5. For $15 cocktails, they taste great but are quite small. Our friend had a shrimp allergy and we notified the server at the beginning of the meal. He ordered dumplings which did not state they had shrimp in them, they arrived at our table (delivered by another staff member) and was about to eat them until I called over the hostess to ask if they may have shrimp in them. The hostess said yes, and our friend said "thanks for saving my life"

Such a great addition to the Lawrenceville food scene! Shareables are all the rage right now, and for good reason - when you have a place like this where everything is delicious, who wants to commit to just one dish? They have such a good variety of plates and while I don't think you can go wrong with anything here, I definitely recommend you try their fried tofu - it's such a simple sounding dish but my friends and I were obsessed with it! I'm also a fan of the restaurant's ambiance - it's chic and has more of a lounge-style feel than your typical dim sum restaurant, making it the perfect beginning to a night on the town.

My friend and I went to The Parlor for one of their special Monday Happy Hours. We were able to get a spot at the bar right away. They had a condensed menu for their happy hour but we were able to order everything we wanted. We ordered their spring rolls, ho fun noodles with flank steak, pork bao and sui mai open faced pork and shrimp dumplings. Each of these were so delicious and we loved the dim sum sauce and chili oil as well. We enjoyed their happy hour cocktails Good Jujube and The Perfect Matcha. For happy hour they had a dj playing some great music and it wasn't too loud either. Definitely excited to go back!

I can't believe it took me so long to try this spot, it caught my eye for years when I was driving through Bloomfield multiple times per week. We were seated promptly for our reservation, and our server was genuinely so helpful throughout our ordering process and really helped to guide us through the menu. Based on what we were looking for, she was able to recommend menu items for us. We also consulted the table next to us for advice because they looked like they were regulars, and we took some of their recommendations as well! I ordered a lychee martini and WOW. Wow. WOW. It was amazing. I ordered two of them. It was better than one I tasted in New York City. I'm obsessed and will return here for that drink alone. As far as food goes, we sampled a little off the dim sum part of the menu, and ordered pork riblets, lo mai gai, and the roasted duck egg roll. I loved the egg roll! The lo mai gai was out of my comfort zone but I loved the sausage and sticky rice combo! My least favorite was the pork riblets, there was barely anything on the already tiny, little bones. Felt like there wasn't much to those. I ordered the weekly special which was French onion soup dumplings and these were phenomenal. Would certainly come back here to try any soup dumplings they have. For the main we ordered the Steak Ho Fun noodles. This dish was huge and definitely able to be shared especially after sharing dim sum! Super comforting noodle dish loaded with beef and veggies, you can't go wrong.

I've wanted to go here for a very long time, and my fiancé was working an overnight shift so I was alone trying to figure out dinner, solo. I decided to finally try The Parlor. They have a wonderful bar in the back of the restaurant so I was able to walk in and sit right away! I tried 3 different items including the nightly special, juicy chicken soup dumplings, the siu mai with pork and shrimp, and the crispy chili oil tofu. I liked everything!! Everything was delicious. I also tried a cocktail called "Open Sesame" which was refreshing and tasty. The service was great. I felt extremely comfortable sitting alone at the bar, especially as a woman. Nobody disturbed me and I didn't feel awkward. I had a really lovely time and have really been enjoying my solo dates because of spots like this one

This was absolutely AMAZING. This was the absolutely best thing I had since I been in Pittsburgh. Everything was fresh and filled with so much flavor. The service was fantastic and the conversation our server had with the menu and really found what we would like. The fact I said point me to things without pork and shellfish it was no problem and reminded what had it and what didn't. The rotation table piece was electric easier than the can you pass me that reaching over food. I had enough room not on top of each other. The food was so good had to meet the chef and got to which was great. IM A HUGE FAN NOW. Love this place and heard he has two/three other spots as well I will be attending one day

I grew up in the San Francisco area and my family is from Hong Kong so I'd like to think I know what Canto dim sum should be like. If I closed my eyes and you asked me to tell which dish came from my fav SF dim sum place and The Parlor?--I wouldn't be able to tell the difference! The only weird thing for me is that I grew up eating dim sum like brunch typically from 11:00am - 2:00pm so it's bright and the sun is shining when you leave. Ambiance at The Parlor is a hip dinner vibe with dim lights, a bar and neons. I left confused without those Andy Lau hits, but not bad at all. The food is legit and I'm so happy chef Roger Li brought this to Pittsburgh. Cheers and thank you!

Second time here (forgot to review first time) but we came back for a reason! Amazing food - lots of excellent dim sum options. Today we went for the Ho Fun noodles and they were sooooo goood. My partner liked to mix in the chili oil so if you like a little kick don't forget that! Service at the bar was great - very attentive and helpful in answering questions about the menu. The ambiance at the bar is awesome. Pro tip for the newbies (esp. if you don't have reservations) come and sit at the bar you can order off the full food menu there.

The Parlor is a cool spot and I'm glad we have a dim sum restaurant in Pittsburgh. However, they need some work on the experience of it all. I made a Friday night reservation just 1 day in advance and there were plenty of reservations still available. In that 1 day I was sent repeated notifications about their dining time limits (3-5 in 24 hours!). I received multiple text messages letting me know that there is a 75 minute limit for 2 diners. As soon as we checked in with the hostess she let us know the same. There was such a focus on the 75 minute time limit that everything was rushed and honestly it ruins the experience. The restaurant was not full and there were no people waiting at any point during our meal so this all seems unnecessary. They should either drop the time limit and let people enjoy their meals or switch to a counter-service/fast food model that focuses more on quantity than quality since that does seem to be the focus here. Also, they charge you more if you pay with a card. At this price point it is pretty unlikely that anyone would be carrying that amount coincidentally so plan accordingly for that too.

Fantastic food. Fresh, tasty, and savory! My daughter ordered for the table... starting with various dumplings, half lobster and noodles, wok fried beef with onions, trio plate with chicken duck and bbq pork, and seafood fried noodles with shrimp scallops and squid. One of the best meals I've ever tasted. Definitely now one of my favorite restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised... expected good but was amazed!

Wow!! I took my husband here for his birthday, and the experience was everything we could have wanted. I'd like to preface with the fact that we haven't ever eaten Cantonese BBQ before, so I cannot attest to the authenticity of this restaurant or not. Regardless if its authentic or not, this place is something to be talked about! The food was delicious. The vibe was very cool. And the service was great! The concept of dim sum is fairly new to me, and I'm usually not super adventurous with food. The Parlor has something for everyone whether your palette is more adventurous or not. Everything that we tried was tasty and full of flavor that left us wanting more. I kept telling my husband, "I think we're going to need more dim sum!" The price point is AMAZING. We had so much food, and our bill was under $100, which is unheard of in the fine dining world. All of the food came out quickly and well timed so we didn't feel rushed. I dont love the fact that they have a time limit. For 2 people, we were given 75 minutes. I didn't feel rushed the whole meal because everything came out perfectly timed, but it was in the back of my mind. Needless to say, we had enough time for dim sum, an entree, and dessert! Now, here's what we tried: DIM SUM: [Hao Gow Crystal Shrimp]: There was not a lot to this dish. Shrimp and dumplings, but it was so tasty! [Cha Siu Pork Bao Buns]: This was my favorite dish of the night. Everything was perfect from the perfectly season pork to the soft bao buns. I dont know where bao buns have been all my life, but I need more! [13 Ingredient Egg Roll]: This was a special of the night, and it did not disappoint. Lots of flavor & veggies [Lava Bao]: This was sweetened duck egg yolk in a bao bun. I didn't think I could eat a duck egg, but then I realized it's the same as eating a chicken egg lol. The flavor in this was SHOCKING! It tasted like you were eating a vanilla custard cake. I'm so glad we tried it because it was unexpectedly good and something totally out of my comfort zone. ENTREE: [Ho Fun Noodles]: Noodles with flank steak & scallions. Need I say more?? Flavorful and large portion. This was a less adventurous option so not as exciting for me, but it was still really good! I will be taking my friends to this place and recommending it to everyone! It's such a unique restaurant that should be enjoyed more than once!

Dumping was delicious wonton soup was the best I ever tasted. It was so hot and fresh

Had a dinner reservation for Thursday evening. We were seated immediately upon arrival and brought waters. The staff were friendly and attentive, almost overly so. The comment someone left about the water glasses never going lower than half full is definitely true! The ambiance is bright and fun with the colors and decor. The food was honestly not impressive. We had a few of the dim sum items from the steamed options and one from the fried section. The turnip cake was our favorite. We thought the pork filling in the bao bun was an interesting texture and a little sweet. We also split the seafood fried rice and that was our favorite thing. It had good garlic flavor and a good amount of shrimp. The lava bao for dessert was ok. Nothing to rave about. We wanted to love this place, but it was just fine.

Great food again, service and nice ambiance whether in dining area or downstairs bar (which opens to the sidewalk). The dim sum items are well-crafted, delicious pieces. With many of them you get 4 pieces priced in the $6-7 dollar range.

The lobster noodles were delicious and the noodles were so savory. Very flavorful. Lobster very fresh and cooked to perfection. Chinese sausage: The tofu was nice and crispy and a great portion for the price. The sausage went amazingly with the tofu. Chicken and salted fish fried rice: they don't joke about the salt but when you mix it with white rice it evens out. Very good and the chicken was super tender. The dumplings we got were so good and a great appetizer. They were super juicy and packed the right amount of spice. The ambiance in the restaurant gave a type of hip coffee shop vibe. It was super cozy and I liked how the lights gave this cozy warm glow to the restaurant. And I love the black and brown. Very clean and beautiful.

Cocktails and the dim sum were amazing! Loved the energy at the bar too. We got a mix of specials and menu items and every piece of dim sum was delish!

Vibes are immaculate in here. We got a bunch of different dumplings and dim sum and it was pretty good. The late night dim sum is where it's at.

I have been eyeing the Parlor for a while and recently built up the courage to come a try! Thankfully it was a great experience. The dim sum was perfect to share with friends. We got a noodle dish that was delicious (pictured)! The bathrooms were very clean. Would love to come back and try more!

Came late at night on a Friday. Got seated. The server seemed a little standoffish but helpful. She took our orders. We ate and left right when they closed. The food was all very good! We spent about 70 something dollars on the two of us. My joy friend really loved the dessert of coconut pudding with fresh fruit and boba.

This is now my third time at the parlor dim sum, and it should be more like my 100th with how good everything is. Took myself on a little date because I NEEDED their dumplings of the week jn my life, and now I need them every day (lol) but really, everything was amazing, the staff was extremely friendly as well as the vibes. The food always speaks for itself at this spot. Will be back!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND! RUDE! I was excited to try this place when I booked a reservation at 2:30 PM on a Saturday. I took my newborn and husband on a snowy day hoping to have a nice lunch, but I was very disappointed. Due to the weather and how hard it is to park in Lawrenceville, I showed up 10 mins late. They welcomed me and said you have 5 minutes to order because the kitchen closes at 2:45 PM. I explained the situation and the hostess didn't care at all. So I had 3 minutes to sit at a table and order? That's the most humiliating thing I have ever seen in a restaurant. Why would you allow for a 2:30 reservation if your kitchen closes exactly 15 minutes after? Why wouldn't you allow for 15 minutes in case someone in the party was late and then allow more time for them to order? Why so much pressure? Very unprofessional and ruined my evening. What a shame!

We loved our experience here! The food was so flavorful and prompt! They have so many dim sum options and an interesting drink menu. It's small so make a reservation!

I went here late one night with a friend and we had no reservation. Staff was helpful and let us know there were a couple of people at the bar that might be getting up soon if we wanted to hover around and wait. They were right and we sat down in less than 3 minutes. Ambiance was nice and dark. Definitely a nice private little vibe. We had a great time. Service was friendly and super informative realizing it was our first time she explained the menu and how you ordered the dim sum. I loved our bartender. Drinks were great and were regular cocktail prices. I had the Espresso Martini and it was beautiful and super well balanced. We ordered a couple things from the dim sum menu. Steamed dumplings I would rate 4/5 just because the wrapper was slightly chewier than the average. Fried dumplings 5/5, balanced, flavorful, crunchy. Roasted Pork Bao 4/5, coulda used just a little more flavor. The fried Taro were by far the most delicious 10/5. Soo crunchy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside. Very interesting flavor. Loved those! I also had the spicy wonton soup. HUGE serving for the price. Pleasantly surprised that I had so much left to take home, gotta love it! 5/5 on the rating scale for that one! I loved this place. Ambiance, service and food were all good! Cute for a date night or just night out with a friend.

The parlor was good! I got a lychee martini to drink and bourbon specialty cocktail and both of those were super good. For an appetizer, we got the pork siu mai dumplings, and those were definitely the best thing we ate all night. They were sooooo flavor and the filling was so yum. I asked for chili oil on the side and they brought me three different sauces and the green one was a scallion ginger sauce and that was also amazing! For dinner, we got the crispy prawns and the "ho fun" noodles. The beef in the noodles was super tender, but I wish the noodles/sauce was more flavorful. To my surprise, the prawns were fried with the shell (and eyeballs) on. I did not expect that and it definitely threw me off guard lol. I probably would not have ordered that if I knew that's how it was going to be served- I would suggest the restaurant to add that in the menu because I could not enjoy it like that. If I were to go back, I would probably just order a bunch of the different dumplings.

I can't believe we waited this long to visit the parlor! Everything was enjoyable from beginning to end. The detail that goes into this unique dining experience is evident all around. There is so much to appreciate about the atmosphere, in addition to the food/drinks. Every bite was incredibly flavorful, fresh, and satisfying! I left completely full, but wanting more. I can not wait to try their other dishes in the future! P.s. Li's mums marinated cucumbers are addicting...tbh, I'd buy them in bulk if I could!

Pretty solid chinese food with friendly waiters. You will feel a bit in a rush but the ambiance is lovely. Taro dumplings are a must! I loved the house made chili oil here.

Last night was great. We had margaritas and then went to @theparlordimsumpgh for dinner. I had never been and wanted to try some dumplings. The food was delish with the sauce. We didn't realize it was family style but we didn't mind. My favorite standouts were the shrimp balls, their prawn fried rice, chicken dumplings, and their special for the night were shrimp egg rolls. The service was very accomadating and as I don't eat pork I really appreciate that the server took her time to explain what was in everything. Definitely would try this again. If you like flavors order extra sauce though as most of the food needs the sauce.

Formerly Ki Ramen location. Ramen was horrible here last time but did a 180 at their new location at NanBan. Dim Sum took about 25 min to make. Siu Mai had a sharp aftertaste. Ha Cao (shrimp dumplings) had super thick skin and lukewarm at best. It turns out, the sharp taste was either spolied or undercooked siu mai that caused food poisoning. Got Parlor's response to my post and disagree with their assumption that I was purely toilet bound right after the eat. I have had a ton of prior bad experiences with food poisoning at other restaurants and this was no exception. Not to go into unneccessary details, I developed a headache and had diarrhea with cold chills a couple hours later. Luckily, I was able to vomit some of that nasty food and that helped me get through it. October 14, after "hundreds more served", additional comments from the "OX" owner still do not acknowledge the information nor do they accept the bad experience that occurred but instead, now they call their former patrons idiots for writing unfavorable reviews about them. That really goes a long way in making things right or properly addressing a mistake or a food quality issue. I posted an honest experience and I now see how professional they are.

The food was outstanding service was five star our waitress was absolutely fantastic. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. Would come back 100%. Next year for sure.

I was excited to try this place after finding out from my wife about its opening. We enjoy dim sum but haven't been able to find a great place in Pittsburgh that we really enjoy. While they're done a nice job on the interior of the restaurant and the food was presented well, the flavors just failed to meet my expectations and the portions were tiny. I tried a variety of their dim sum options, and my favorites were the fried potstickers. I also enjoyed the lava bun for dessert with the sweetened egg yolk. We ordered to go, but we had to walk into the restaurant to place our order, no online or phone ordering options. I went right after they opened at 5:00, so they were not too busy yet and the wait was very reasonable, about 10 minutes. This is an ok option if you want food of this category in this area, but I think the dim sum at Everyday Noodles in squirrel hill is far superior.

Absolutely outstanding! From our warm greeting at the door from Hillary who happened to be the manager to our service from Mia everything was fantastic. Listen to the dim sum specials. The mixture of flavors tonight were so complex and surprising. I only review excellent dining experiences and we loved Parlor our first time so we went back tonight and it was amazing. This place is very relaxing and comfortable. Can't wait to go back again. I didn't even get to the Ho Fun noodle dish that was also delicious. Way to go Hillary and Parlor!

I've been looking forward to trying The Parlor and finally had the opportunity to do this past Saturday. We arrived a little after 1pm and were seated almost immediately, with the restaurant at about 80% capacity. We ordered from the brunch menu which featured a large range of small Cantonese dishes as well as a few types of wine, beer, and signature cocktails. I sipped on You Should See the Video, a perfect blend of lavender milk tea and Maggie's Farm coffee. The dumplings could've been served hotter, but overall we were happy with our choices. The Siu Mai open faced dumplings were my personal favorite. I posted the dumplings to my social media account and The Parlor so kindly followed up to ensure that I was pleased with my experience. I can't wait to return!

Food: I was impressed with it, I felt like it was authentic. We had a group of about 7 people and had more food than we needed because we were all so excited by the menu variety. Drinks: Pretty good, expensive but good Service: My waiter was great, he knew the menu well and recited the specials for that evening. Helpful and pleasant. Ambiance: This is where they score. It's so beautiful inside this restaurant. One of the coolest places I've been since moving to the city Overall: It was good, it gets cheaper as your party size increases. Beautiful restaurant and staff that seem to be proud of where they work and what they do!

As someone who spent several years living in Hong Kong I was over the moon to learn that The Parlor was opening in Pittsburgh! I've attempted to make Cantonese eats to varying degrees of success and so I am pumped to have a place that can do it for me! My honest take was for this meal (which I've had countless times in Hong Kong) was that the meats were over cooked and dry, the rice was under cooked and crunchy, and the choy sum (steamed vegetable) was bland--it needed soy sauce and oyster sauce. I would've liked to have had the option of duck sauce for the duck and green onion sauce for the char Siu to be included as well as those come standard in HK. This meal was definitely not worth the $23 price tag. I'm choosing to give a 4-star review as I want to come back again in a few months hoping they've worked out the kinks of their operation and perfected this quintessentially Cantonese dish.
