The Best New Bars in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"Perched on a corner with lots of windows and decorated with gentle hues, Parlour may look like an airy coffee shop. It is that, but it’s also one laid-back natural wine bar perfect for catching up on work or spending a casual night out. The glass list covers all the bases for aficionados, and there’s an impressive collection of bottles for sale (which you can enjoy on premise for a corkage fee). If you are just looking for coffee though, rest assured that you’ll still get full barista service. There’s also beer, cider, and aperitifs, plus some fun NA drinks (including a solid phony Negroni)." - Brianna Gunter

I have been going to Shelly for years. She KNOWS hair and how to make it work with your face and style. I have challenging asian hair that changed completely after having a kid and Shelly was able to bring out waves/curls I never thought was possible with my previously stick-straight hair. Shelly is so warm and kind and I love going in every few weeks for my bangs trim. Highly recommend.

{2019 original post) Best haircut I've gotten in years. A little more expensive than other places for a men's haircut, but Shelly really knows her stuff. Well worth it. 2025 update: Shelly continues to be awesome. Terrific haircut time after time. Well worth the money.

Shelly is amazing. Not many stylists can look at someone and know what will look fabulous on them but Shelly can, and she has the technical skills to back it up. Her cutting and color skills are second to none. I can't recommend her highly enough. Love, love, love my hair!!!

After going to The Parlour (Columbia City, not to be confused with the other Parlour), I never want to go anywhere else! Shelly does such an amazing job complimenting your face shape, and is one of those stylists whose experience is just plain to see. The Parlour is comfortable (during the pandemic or not), and I never feel rushed there. If you want to look forward to getting your haircut, this is your spot.

You've got to love this place.... it's a gem. It has a real neighborhood feel. Haircuts are great - a completely different cut than one you get at some standardized corporate salon/barber shop.... and... Shelly's personality. Endless entertainment during your cut. Easy to book online. Always get in there when convenient for me.

On a whim, my long haired boyfriend decided to get his hair cut. Lucky him: we'd just strolled by the Parlour, the domain of enchantress Shelly, master hairdresser & shop owner. Shelly was inviting, perceptive, and totally hilarious. It couldn't have been more fun--and Mark is a total babe now! Thanks, Shelly, for an unexpected & delightful experience.

Reviewing Arianna (who I think rents space at The Parlour). Probably my worst hair appt. Saw her last March (just found her card and I remembered wanting to leave her a review). She took 20 min after out appt frantically looking for her supplies, blamed the other folks in the space for not being ready on time. During the appt she shared an uncomfortable amount of information about her personal life and relationships. Meanwhile I'm barely speaking to her, as I'm fairly introverted. The worst part was that my balyage was horrible, not blended at all, pretty red on my dark hair when I'd asked for something subtle. I had to strategically style my hair to make it not noticable until I had given it enough time to re-dye it, as I was most certainly didn't trust her to fix it. 2 starts for the sale she was having, I guess?
