The Pastards

Excellent Italian restaurant at the seaside of the Chora. Actually the restaurant has access also from the parallel alley behind the port side. We went there to try some pasta dishes and everything was delicious. We tried one pennes dish with meat and a spaghetti dish with sea food. Both were prepared on time and they were very tasty and with normal prices. Also the buratta salad was excellent and with good quantity. The staff was also very friendly.

Excellent and very tasty food, very well presented. The restaurant is centrally located yet in a quiet bit of the town. Sadly, the service was very slow and disappointing which left a bad impression. Quite disappointing, as the food was gorgeous.

May be the best past in island. We loved schrimp pasta and pasta vodka. However they don’t have enough waiter/waitress in busy time you have to wait also you have to remind your requests many time.

This was phenomenal. Incredible Italian food on a Greek island, who knew?! In case you fancy a break away from traditional Greek food, can’t recommend this place enough. Amazing food, fabulous wine selection, lovely wait staff and really pretty setting. 100% recommend!

We never expected The Pastards restaurant to be this good, honestly. It was the best dinner we had in Chios - great plates, great wine, great hospitality!

The staff were polite and friendly. They knew English so we almost had no struggle to communicate. We ate 3 or 4 kinds of pizzas and they were all so tasty. I mostly recommend pizzas rather than pastas. Hot service with a great atmosphere, you can also see the great see view. One of the best places where you can enjoy your meal in Chios. They have a verified menu, vegetarian options included. Also the origami butterfly detail was cute and fancy.

We especially enjoyed the pizza with mushrooms — it was delicious! The other one with mastic cheese tasted more like a standard Margherita, but still nice. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. The waitress seemed to struggle with understanding us and came across as quite rude. She didn’t provide a receipt and asked us to check the screen for prices while paying. Initially, she didn’t count the money we handed over, and then claimed it wasn’t enough. Only on the second attempt did she count it correctly. Her attitude was not very professional, and her English made communication a bit difficult. If you're reading this, we hope this feedback helps to improve the service experience for future guests.

I found this place to be quite overrated. We ordered the mushroom & bacon pasta and a pizza with tomato and local cheese. Unfortunately, the pizza was disappointing — the crust was very thick and dry, and the sauce and cheese didn’t really work well together as a combination. The pasta was okay — the mushroom sauce was tasty, but the pasta itself was just basic store-bought, nothing special. We also asked for different pasta types, but they didn’t accommodate that request. Despite the underwhelming quality, both dishes were around €12 each, which felt overpriced. Overall, I wouldn’t really recommend it — there are definitely better food options around for the same or even lower prices.
