I recently made a short drive down to Encinitas during the San Diego Restaurant week to try The Patio on 101. At first, I fell in love with the ambiance, but then it was the food. They are known for their cheese and charcuterie boards, and I could see why. The meat came beautifully presented, and the cheese was super tasty. If you're in the mood for something a lighter to start your meal, I recommend the ahi tacos.
For the main course, I had the trout. The fish tasted as if it has just been caught that morning, and it had a great flavor profile. My daughter enjoyed the way her chicken came, in a decorative pan. The half chicken was paired with potatoes lemon and arugula.
They saved the best part for last - the dessert. You can't leave here without have the Twisted Elvis. I am generally not one for sweet desserts, and I couldn't stop enjoying the delicious flavors of this unique dessert.
The Patio on 101 is just a short drive from the ocean so you can have a walk on the beach before coming in for dinner.
