Jinya Will Start Simmering Slow-Cooked Ramen in Ballston | Eater DC

"I'm intrigued by the renovated Franklin Park getting a new 2,200-square-foot restaurant pavilion and other dining spots; Pirate Ventures will run the operation, planning to model it after Hook Hall with prominent restaurateurs, breweries, and distilleries, offering grab-and-go breakfast items like green chile breakfast burritos and Alaskan pancakes with cheddar gravy and smoked salmon, picnic baskets for impromptu picnics, and hopes to add booze in the future." - Stephanie Carter

My mom was at The pavilions at Sunny Hills for about three months. During this time, we have had top-tier service from all departments at the pavilion. Eve from Admissions was amazing, she was the one that I had talked to in the beginning of looking for nursing homes. She came highly recommend. When I came in for a tour, she greeted us with such a friendly disposition, super sweet and so nice. I loved her attitude. She made sure that, we were able to tour the facility and look at everything that we needed to look at. She explained everything that we needed to hear. When we walked in, it was so nice, quiet, clean and so welcoming. When we toured the physical therapy rooms and occupational therapy rooms, I was so impressed on how it was professional, clean, and so nice. We toured all upstairs and it was for long term care and it too, was pretty nice with big rooms. When we toured her potential room, that was my immediate yes. The solo suites were impressive and her bathroom was really nice. During her time there, Mariana really helped us from social services, she is so sweet and so professional with everything. She made sure that we had everything that we needed. Every question she answered and also helped us with receiving medical supplies on discharge. I would say occupational and physical therapy were top-tier. They really helped my mom with her rehabilitation and getting her strength back in her body. All of them were so sweet, funny and supportive. The nursing team was amazing. Any concern or any need that I had they were quick to answer and follow through with whatever was needed. If I felt that she was getting sick, or needed something to look at, they didn't hesitate to check on my concerns out. That made me feel at ease. Even when I would call a couple time or have questions, they were pretty easy to reach. I would say some days it was hard to get through, to talk to some departments, but most of the time it was easy. The CNA's, were also amazing. They were all super sweet and nice. They took extra care with showering, changing or whatever she needed. They kept her clean and moisturized. The lights were answered pretty fast from what I've seen. Sometimes they are busy, but they were answered pretty quickly for even being busy. The speech therapists were also so sweet and very helpful for my mom. The custodian department also did a good job in helping to keep my mom's room clean. We didn't go to activities so much, but it was really nice when we went. The food, I would say was OK. It was a hit and miss. But overall it was good and the options were good. Overall, my mom's experience was amazing, she felt heard and seen. She felt really cared for and I felt at ease, knowing that she was being cared for when I wasn't there. I would 100% recommend this place to anybody looking to have someone they love in a safe and good environment.

This is an excellent facility that used to be a hotel! Private rooms, kind staff, and great physical and occupational therapy! Special shout out to Eve, the Admissions Director, who coordinated the transfer of my mom from the hospital to The Pavillion and served as my primary liaison. Eve treated us with the utmost in compassion and respect! 5-stars, I highly recommend!!!

The staff here are doing a great job taking care of my Dad! The receptionist Amy was very kind and very helpful on my first visit. It looks to me like everyone is doing there best to rehabilitate the patients, and they even have a car in the gym to practice getting in and out of for them.

My father was at Pavilions Sunny Hills for 2 weeks for rehab. I have to admit, the first impression as you enter the facility does not give a good impression, the carpet/flooring is stained and worn down, not melted up. Once you get past that, all staff were hospitable, welcoming, and attentive with my father. Reason for not giving it 5 stars, is due to the nutrition/food services. I noticed them several times about food reaction with one of dad’s very important medication and he kept being provided the food item he could not consume. The PT and OT department are excellent.

I was having a horrible week due to financial issues and I had to bury my good friend. My mom was in horrible shape and I thought I was going to loose her. However when I open the door at sunny Pavillon I was in awe on how much better and full of life she had sustained in such a short period of time after being rushed through emergency surgery. I just want to thank everyone who helped my mom heal. Also , all the staff are friendly, respectful and full of positive energy. Thank you kindly.

Shout out to everyone at The Pavilion at Sunny Hills. My mom broke her femur and needed rehab after a brief stay at St Jude. We looked at numerous Rehab facilities in the area and decided The Pavilion was our top choice. We were told it was full, but with help from Carlos and John we got mom in. The admin staff here are phenomenal. We had no idea what we were doing, but Carlos, Eve, Mariana, G, and others (I'm sure I'm forgetting) we felt welcomeand got all our questions answered. The nurses or aides were awesome. There were numerous great aides (with 24/7 care) that really stood out. Some that we really owe a great deal of gratitude to for taking care of mom are Maria, Ryan, Ronnie, Moises, Cecilia, and Hannah. We/she could not have done it without you guys, THANK YOU! It was a bumpy road getting mom well enough to go home, but the nurses helped make us as comfortable as possible under the circumstances. The day to day care, rehab, PT, OT, bathroom needs, medications, were all handled by these wonderful people along with many others. The nurses even helped us celebrate Mom's bday in the facilities activity room. The only con would be the food, sometimes it was below average, but it sufficed with as many beds as they have. There is no doubt that if asked, we as a family would definitely recommend The Pavilion at Sunny Hills.

Compliments-Dad said the staff was all nice. The gym is great. Complaints- Dad said the food was terrible. Always short staffed. Only would get him up for physical therapy. Certified Nurse assistants and aides all need raises. They have to do all the grunt work and are so under paid causing short staffing. With the amount of money billed to the patient there is no reason to have the staff so underpaid. I would not choose this facility again for my dad.

Loved visiting grandma here, Celine, the receptionist is very friendly and verrrry helpful! The 2 nurses we saw while there responded quickly when grandma rang and needed something and generally seemed happy to do their jobs with compassion.
