On the Grid : The Peanut Vendor

"The Peanut Vendor is a bright, spacious, modern interiors shop just next to Victoria Park, with a coffee shop within. They take their coffee as seriously as their furniture - the head barista serves Alchemy Coffee alongside guest roasters. They also sell smashing pastries, cakes (from Yeast bakery and Victoria Yum) and grilled cheese sandwiches which are definitely worth a try before perusing the shop. There you'll find a mix of refurbished furniture, modern homewares (including some great books and unusual glazed mugs) and house plants. The Peanut Vendor is a bustling place, usually filled with dog walkers stopping off before or after a walk in Victoria Park and we hear there are plans to add a deli and host talks in the space." - Adam Johnson

An adorable little furniture and gift shop with a coffee space on the side. There are large communal tables which make for great study spaces. Super efficient service and really friendly staff. However, there were no signs at the door indicating that it is indeed a dog-friendly cafe, meaning that my fear of dogs had me holding my breath until I could walk all the way around the store and out the door. But, a great place nonetheless.

I enjoyed a white peony tea with a delicious banana bread coming back from my running session. The place is really cozy and it’s perfect to discover new teas and eat something healthy yet yummy! They have also a plant section (mainly succulents ♥️ the day I went there) and a small lovely furniture spot. I will definitely come back 😊

A coffee shop and furniture store...obviously it’s going to be hipster, have reliable WiFi, cater to freelancers & millennials. And I’m perfectly happy with that! The staff seemed easygoing and friendly. Really massive but private toilet (sorry TMI) and good coffee. I went because the place just had an inviting, bright & open vibe. Someplace you want to stay awhile.

Stopping by The Peanut Vendor never fails to make my day! Although they do take-away, it's definitely a more chill and stay-in sort of environment, making it feel like a little escape from the stress of the city. It's the perfect place to bring a book to read, laptop to work on, or a friend/s to chat with. With plants and doggos galore, amazing coffee, gorgeous furniture for sale, and tons of outdoor seating, it's hard to find somewhere that can compete. The coffee there is not only the best I've ever tasted (I usually put sugar in my coffee, but not at TPV), but also has the most beautiful latte art I've come across! I've been a regular there for the past few months, and have had the pleasure of getting to know each of the staff members and cannot speak highly enough about them: great people with incredible knowledge about coffee and teas! If it's not busy while you're there, I recommend speaking to them, especially if you want to learn more about coffee (you'll have a hard time finding a better bunch to talk to about it)! If you're lucky, you might even be served by my favourite barista, Ian (tall guy with dark hair and stellar posture), who will almost certainly brighten up your day! If you're looking for a good place to relax and enjoy yourself, I highly recommend making your way to The Peanut Vendor! P.S. The kimchi sandwich is peng af.

Bought a bench from these guys last week. Great selection of furniture and Vicky went above and beyond to help my partner get the bench home (As too big for our car). Delivered on time and very pleased. Sits perfectly in the country house in Provence now. Totally love it!!!! You must visit the store! . Its a must!

Been coming here for months as I live nearby - the coffee is great, the food is great, the furniture store/cafe concept is great - but the staff are unbelievably rude. Like many previous reviewers, I've been judged for my choices and made to feel awkward on several occasions. Yesterday a member of staff actually laughed at me when I asked for a little milk for my coffee and told that they 'don't serve it that way because that's not how it should be drunk'.

Yelp
Good coffee. Chilled vibe, came on the weekend to do few hours work. They've got WiFi and have made good use of the space to fit enough tables that it's not cramped. Came across it on my walk to work, there's not a lot nearby, worth it if you're passing through Victoria Park.

Yelp
Nice coffee poor manners. I went on Sunday morning just for a coffee while I was waiting for my bus, the door was open, the counter with sweets ready and more than one worker. I asked to them if it was opened, one of them responded to me in a really sarcastic 'do we look opened to you?' I replied I thought yes because the door was opened, the guy told me no darling being quite rude. I work in hospitality and I know what is to be with customers and I know how the treat supposed to be. No more paying for coffee served for rude hipsters.
