"Classic Cocktails in Slick Setting The Pearl is one of the most highly polished restaurants on Nantucket and their slick bar is a worthy stop even if you don't want to eat. Attracting a glitzy crowd, you’ll find unusual and classic cocktails as well as a carefully curated wine list. For the ultimate evening, reserve the chef’s table on the back deck and have champagne and cocktails beforehand."

The decor and design in the pearl is incredible. Beautifully done inside. The drinks were good, no complaints. Lobster Rangoon’s were excellent but small (only get 3). The pork dumplings were incredible and highly recommended. The tuna fried rice was also excellent, but again very small with 4 bite size pieces. The cod entree was pretty good, fish was cooked well and the sauce was nice. The green beans were a little under cooked and were the weak part there. All in all the food was good, but certainly overpriced and undersized even for ACK.

I had the pleasure of dining out with my friends at this fabulous restaurant. We were greeted warmly and seated to our table right away. The decor and ambiance of this gem was so inviting. The staff was very knowledgeable and was able to answer any questions we had about the menu items. We opted to get an array of appetizers and entrees which were all A+ in my book! The cocktails were just as good. I can’t say enough about the staff at this restaurant. They made sure we were completely satisfied with our selections. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Nantucket. I know I’ll be back!

The Pearl is absolutely perfect! From the atmosphere to the staff members. Every dish was a delight. I started with the Heritage Pork Dumpling, which was as beautiful as it was delicious. For the main course, I chose the Mushroom Udon with coconut, garlic oil, truffle, and a side of house fries. I was not disappointed, possibly my favorite meal. The server suggested a wine that complemented my meal beautifully. It was the perfect dinner with the girls!

Restaurant Review: The Pearl, Nantucket – A True Island Gem Nantucket is a place that holds its own kind of magic—cobblestone streets, sea-salt air, and a charm that’s impossible to resist. With so many incredible dining options, choosing where to go can feel overwhelming. But thanks to a friend’s recommendation, we discovered The Pearl, and I only wish we had gone sooner. From the moment we stepped inside, the experience was nothing short of spectacular. We began our evening with cocktails at the bar, which were crafted to perfection. The ambiance was chic yet welcoming—elegant without being pretentious. Once seated at our table, the service continued to impress. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and incredibly pleasant—striking the perfect balance between professional and personable. As for the food? Absolutely amazing. I ordered the Asian Wok-Fried Lobster, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was one of the best dishes I’ve had in a long time. And according to my husband I'm hard to please! The flavors were bold, fresh, and beautifully balanced—truly a culinary highlight of our trip. The Pearl is more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience. If you’re visiting Nantucket, this is a must. Whether you’re looking for an unforgettable dinner or a special night out, The Pearl delivers on every front. We’re already planing our next visit when the weather warms up, just so we can enjoy their outdoor seating and soak in even more of that Nantucket charm. Until then, we’ll be raving about our visit and recommending it to everyone we know.

Both the front of house and back of house staff are doing it better than anywhere else on island! Food is excellent & the staff serving it know their stuff. I am always impressed from the moment I come in! From the ambience (perfect music), the cozy vibe in the bar room (window seat is the best bar seat on island), colorful & freshly prepared creative cocktails, & of course the delicious food. Mushroom udon & lobster Rangoon were unreal! Best of all is the staff here-they are true professionals.

In April, I had the absolute pleasure of dining at The Pearl with several friends, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary! From start to finish, the food and service exceeded every expectation — truly some of the best I’ve ever encountered. Each dish was a masterpiece, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. I’m already counting down the days until I can return to The Pearl on my next visit to Nantucket. It’s an absolute must!

Google
The pearl was an experience. The place was modern, white, and romantic. Service overall was good. Our table was ready quickly, and the food came out quick. The server had knowledge and knew the menu. The food by itself is Asian inspired. Some dishes were good. Some were great. I will mention only the highlights - cornbread, rangoons, and short rib. The Coctails were ok. The first one that we ordered was really small. The second round was a full cup. The taste overall was ok. Prices were ridiculously expensive. Dessert wasn't as good as expected. It's not a dessert place. I would visit again, yes. There is something interesting and unique at this place.

The rating on the Pearl should be much higher. The food was amazing!! Was a very pleasant experience and I can’t wait to go back!! Love the names of some of the creative cocktails as well. Fun!

Yelp
The parking was a bit sketchy. It is just street parking. Everyone must have been in town because we had trouble finding a spot. It is located in the center of town so in a house converted into a restaurant. I started out with Tuna Taraki which was five slices of fresh tuna on a bed of curry topped with a sliced plum. It was delicious. As an entree I had the swordfish that was seared. It was a large portion that filled me right up. The waiter was marginal. We asked if he had after dinner port be the glass. A simple request. He disappeared for 15 minutes while he checked. This required a yes or no answer from the kitchen. As it turns out, they did not have it. The restaurant had about twenty table with a separate bar area. The dining room was dimly lit. I would return whenever I am on the island. It is a top-notch restaurant.

Yelp
Ouch, I get Tapas, but extra small Tapas , Pork dumplings and pigs in blanket..... between the $ of the dishes and amount of food on the plate, after lunch here, I wanted to get a steak somewhere, great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Klaudia P.

Yelp
My mom and I walked into the bar downstairs and were physically pushed out of the bar by a staff member because it was allegedly private, although there was no signs or bouncer, indicating such I would never ever go to this restaurant again in my life.

Yelp
Female bartender was a bit dry, not very engaging. Lovely atmosphere, interesting cocktails and menu. Had the lobster dish and it was very tough, didn't eat much of it. The noodles it came on were flavorful. Crispy tuna app was great and my husband really enjoyed his chicken entree. Overall it was ok.

Erin J.

Yelp
Beautiful and busy. The Pearl is a very popular Asia seafood fusion restaurant. The Tokyo tots were truly unique. Small potato stacks with a caviar garnish. Also had the lobster lomein which was flavorful. Service was prompt and professional. Would definitely recommend for a unique dining experience in the town of Nantucket.

Yelp
What a disappointment, truly one of the worst dining experiences in our recent memory (10 years, 20?, east coast, west coast, NYC). We'd been wanting to try for several years, we'd heard good things from people we trust. Thus, it is not an understatement that we were absolutely shocked by the overly salted dishes (every one of the 5 we ordered!) and the heavy-handed preparation of each of them. Instead of fine nuances of flavors, it seemed as if the kitchen chose to pour thick Hoi San and soy sauce over each dish. Instead of herbs as described in the menu (say, for example, basil), three of our dishes had large amounts of cilantro dumped on top (with no mention of any substitutions by the server). While I ordered medium rare (and stressed to err toward rare) for the beef dish, it came as medium so I sent it back and did not request another. The ambiance I would describe as "let's party and eat some food!". The loud and social bar crowd seemed quite happy, and some of the (far younger than me) patrons seemed much happier than us (and tipsier) as we departed. The noise level was unacceptable, possibly the noisiest I've ever experienced (unacceptable because some curtains or fabrics could help). We had to repeat ourselves while talking to our server; she couldn't hear us and we couldn't hear her (or each other). There were smaller problems as well. We ordered the lobster rangoon, but the server informed us that they "always run out" for late seatings (which begs the question, why not always make more?). When asked "how is everything?", we informed the server that every dish was overly salty (so salty as to be unenjoyable and close to bitterly inedible)... and would she please let the chef know. She did not report back, nor apologize, and instead chose to mostly ignore us for the rest of our very uncomfortable time at their establishment. We chose to pay the bill and leave before our dessert came out. Although we knew that the meal would be pricey, this restaurant does not deserve to charge even half. While the overly sweet cocktail we ordered was pleasant and pretty, certainly not stand-out enough to order another. I'm sorry I hadn't read the reviews that its ownership had changed hands recently. Diners beware! My recommendation is you dine elsewhere, there are so many other amazing choices in Nantucket, especially at this price-point.

James G.

Yelp
I was surprised I found this chefs name on the Internet at all. He is one of those non credentialed chefs from the west coast who obviously tricked the owners into hiring him. I want the owners to realize when he interviews employees he basically ask questions like on the level of "what is your favorite color". This guy is not a chef of any ability. I know I was just interviewed by him. Such a ridiculous conversation it truly was.

Jacqueline D.

Yelp
I had high expectations for The Pearl but I had an OK experience. I came here for a date night. Drinks, service and interior were great, but lacking on good food.... especially at the price. We ordered a few things to share. The main ones we were pumped about were the lettuce wraps and the wok fried lobster. The lettuce wraps were good but very small - also I think they used to come in 3, but now it's lowered to 2..... anyway. the lobster was underwhelming. For a speciality dish, we expected more than just noodles with lobster. Of course, the lobster was good, but that's just because of its freshness and natural flavor. We also tried other dishes - underwhelming so I can't even remember them. I visit Nantucket quite a bit and won't be coming back here. The check was hefty, especially for what we ordered/received

Yelp
We've been annual visitors to The Pearl for 8 years, and were thrilled to see it reopen with much of the same menu as the prior management. Sadly, although the words are the same, the taste is not. But even putting aside the prior excellence, there is not dish we tried that we would recommend. Many offerings tasted like a bottle of over-the-counter soy sauce was dumped on it, drowning out any other flavors, and the overwhelming texture was soggy and mushy. Dinner for two, just over $350 (which was expected). Here's what we got: Crab Rangoon: Nothing remarkable, and most neighborhood Chinese restaurants would win in a taste test. Soggy and flat. Presentation was poor. Tokyo Tots: Basically bread pudding in a soy sauce soup. Mushy. Why order caviar if you can't taste it? Aren't "tots" supposed to be crisp? Dumplings: Again, the sauce over-powered any other flavor profiles. Why order lobster if you can't taste it? 60 Second Steak & Eggs: Bread pudding, again. Brioche was soggy and mushy. Sauce was too tart. Could not taste any of the other flavors. Wok Fried Lobster: We've been enjoying this dish for years. Even putting aside the former excellence, it was just "good". Halibut: This seemed to be the only dish we ordered that had a flavor profile you could actually taste, but the execution failed. The fish sat in the middle of a plate with a variety of flavors surrounding it, so I had to build my own taste experience on my fork. Some mouthfuls were awful (too much of this, not enough of that) and after confusion and effort, I put together some pretty good forkfulls. But rooting thru the greens, the spices, the herbs, veggies, etc. to try and recreate the good mouthful was beyond my skill set (that's why I eat out). The new decor is nice, drinks were excellent, the service was excellent, but the food was an expensive and major disappointment.

Madison O.

Yelp
The lobster pasta is to die for. The service was excellent and I had such a positive experience last night. Also the new interior looks amazing !!! So cute

Jeff P.

Yelp
I don't usually provide on line reviews but I'm compelled to respond to the recent one star reviews of this Nantucket legend under new management. We were a party of eight last night and had an excellent experience. The service was perfect from the host who seated us immediately, to the server who was honest in his assessments of the entrees and very attentive, to the sommelier who provided an excellent recommendation of an obscure Swiss wine. Everything that was supposed to be hot was very hot and everything that was supposed to be cold was cold. We were neither rushed nor bored. The flavors were strong but not overbearing. Are there better values to be had? Perhaps. But the new Pearl is most certainly a superior experience to Dune, or most of its high priced neighbors. We'll definitely be bACK.

Wren C.

Yelp
Kevin is such a lovely bartender! I had such a lovely time. The decor is so much better than it was. More beautiful, friendly patrons and staff. I am definitely coming back often...

James C.

Yelp
You're right to suspect the seafood is frozen. I recently stayed at the White Elephant while waiting for employee housing to open up and I had a few days to kill so I spent some time speaking with local fisherman and what I have learned is that most of the vessels unload in Hyannis where it is then shipped and fabricated in Boston. 100% of the restaurants on Nantucket get their seafood frozen from Boston's Chinatown, or from a national carrier.

Tina O.

Yelp
Ate at The Pearl this past weekend, and was so dissatisfied with the service and the food. The place is beautiful, light, and elegant. We ordered the dumplings which were fabulous, an order of the fried rice which was mushy and disgusting to the palate, now onto their famous lobster entree... sorry to say, it was ok, not great. For $85, it should have been beyond delicious, very disappointed, and will never go back. The one star is for the ambience, and the dumplings.

Chris S.

Yelp
This is a great place! It's bright and beautifully decorated. The staff is incredibly friendly. Service is not rushed. The food is excellent. We ordered the passion fruit martini...YUM! The oysters are outstanding. Definitely try them with the homemade curry sauce they provide in a dropper. I'm not a curry person but this sauce is incredible. We also ordered the yellowfin tuna martini and the Wagyu tartare. Everything was outstanding but the wagyu tartare is the absolute best. We also ordered wine by the glass and it was a good pour and delicious. It is a little pricey but worth every penny. I look forward to going again. Thank you to everyone at The Pearl.

Shaun B.

Yelp
Horrible. Worst meal in 7 years living on Nantucket. Pepper flakes and salt is not cooking. Everything had some pepper spice flakes all over it. Scallop dumplings have no scallop in them. Idk what is in there, I sent them back. The chicken dish was so salty that it was inedible to the 4 of us. The oysters were ruined with some hot sauce. How do ruin local Nantucket oysters? The $85 lobster lo mein is a joke. Some lo mien with soy sauce and a tiny lobster sitting on top. You have to deal with the shell. We sent it back and asked them to at least take it out of the shell. And the waiter had an attitude like this place was something special. We graciously left a tip but even with the chicken and no scallop dumplings taken off it was still $400+. Don't bother going there.

James J.

Yelp
Nope. Not yet. Maybe. But not yet. Server should also stop touching his hair as he moves between tables. Also a 4oz pour of wine is the normal pour?Comical.

Hannah B.

Yelp
amazing dinner here at The Pearl! as we were only on the island for 3 nights, I had trouble narrowing down the list for must try restaurants, but i am so glad we picked the Pearl for our last night, as it truly was special. after seeing some mixed reviews on yelp, i was a little hesitant, but i'm glad we paid those reviews no mind. we already know without a doubt we will dine here again when we return to Nantucket. I had made reservations by phone pretty far in advance, so we were seated right away on a sunday night in a cozy corner booth. Service was excellent and friendly. to start, we ordered the vietnamese lettuce wraps and lobster rangoon, both were phenomenal. so much so that we ordered another set of each. for our main course I got the salt + pepper wok fried lobster and my boyfriend got the soft shell crab tempura. the lobster (tails and claw) was served over a delicious vegetable lo mein. the flavor was so good and the noodles had the perfect amount of sauce. i would definitely order that again. my boyfriend loved his crab dish as well. and finally, for dessert we had a coconut ice cream dish that was the perfect end to this wonderful meal.

J A.

Yelp
Really good food. It's a pre fixed menu and a bit expensive but the food and the portions did not disappoint. We thought it was going to be one of those meals where you leave still hungry but we were stuffed! Try the lobster Rangoon to start and the soft shell crab Thai noodles, they were delish!

Janeth J.

Yelp
This place was great! The only thing I didn't like was when I takes to the hosts, they were a bit rude and said they didn't have any reservations. But when I called, they had reservations??? I find that very offensive and weird.. The lobster pasta was great, so was the sushi. Our waitress was a catch as well. Other than the rude hosts, I enjoyed my experience.

Jom P.

Yelp
Without a doubt the best meal I had on the island. There were a few Asian dishes on the menu so I was skeptical at first, being from Thailand myself. But man... every single dish that came out was authentic to a tee. Some were even better than what I usually have back at home in Thailand, which completely blew me away. First time I went there I ordered every single appetisers on the menu and they were all delicious! Tonight it was prefix but the Khaosoi I had took me right back to Northern Thailand. The short ribs just melt in your mouth, it was unbelievable. The only complaint I have would be the service, they seemed to be short staffed and was quite hard to get their attention. And once you did they seemed to forget your drinks order/requests. But other than that, I would go back again tomorrow and try other things on the menu if they weren't all booked up.

CC C.

Yelp
The hype on this place had me salivating to get here, but the price inspired reluctance in myself who makes far less than 100K a year. Considering how expensive it is to dine here, I needed a good reason to lay my hard earned cash down. Restaurant Week was my reason. It's an extremely fancy restaurant, one you'd expect to diner at in a big city. Lovely setting even if it is crammed into a tiny place. Definitely has the air of an expensive restaurant. Made sure to book an early reservation as a coworker and I both had to work the overnight shift. We arrived a bit early and had a drink as they weren't quite ready for seating. Bartender was nice and mixes a mean cocktail. We made the move to our table and went with the $45 dinner course for restaurant week. I felt like our waiter was professional and the food good. The portion size is on par with high end restaurants (read: small, well presented, and expensive)., and all of it was good. Of the four courses, the dessert was my favorite. It was the first thing I spotted when looking at the menu and it was as delicious as I expected. Fancy chocolate cookies and milk? E'ery day, all day, sign me up. The tuna "pizza" also was a hit for me. Not what I was expecting and quite good. This place is a special occasion kinda spot if you're of a lower tax bracket, but worth the money.

Julia S.

Yelp
I give four stars to this restaurant because it's a very fun place, cool vibe. However, I would give 3 stars if not for the appetizers. The appetizers are great - very good quality. Then, the entrees are not as good. I would come for drinks and a bunch of appetizers for dinner. I tried to lobsters wok dish everyone raves about and I just didn't love it - I found it a little too heavy.

Jeff F.

Yelp
Easily the best meal I had on Nantucket. Look forward to returning. Highlights: - Sichuan Pork Ginger Dumplings - Hokkaido A-5 Wagyu Tartare - Sashimi Special Average: - Spicy Black Magic Dandan Gnocchi - Duo of Handrolls

Julie D.

Yelp
Wok fried lobster is a waste of money and good meat! Frying just doesn't make sense - the lobster is really tough. Honestly, I think it should be removed from the menu. I'm giving this three stars because of the pork and shrimp potstickers. Very good. Would maybe consider returning for these and a smarter entree choice.

Stephanie S.

Yelp
I've been coming here for 10+ years and it is hands down the best restaurant on Nantucket, period. The food is five stars always and I am honestly scratching my head at reviews suggesting removing the most popular item on the menu (?!?). You need a reservation or to be ready to face a smaller bar setting with a lively crowd. The service and wine list are phenomenal-- never been disappointed here as it's a truly thoughtful/delightful approach to cuisine.

Lisa S.

Yelp
We were so excited to get a reservation at The Pearl but the reality just didn't match our expectations or the very high cost. One of the biggest issues that made our experience seem sub par was the waiter. He had ZERO personality. He didn't speak outside of taking our order and never smiled at all. We asked questions and tried to make conversation but he wasn't interested. For a place that charges this much for dinner it's important to hire the right people because it can ruin the dining experience. The final straw was when we asked if we could have hot tea at the end of our meal (it was chilly) and he said he would check and acted like it was a big issue. He brought the tea and it was luke warm at best and never came back to check on us. Such a bummer. I would avoid this place until they get their act together - we had much better meals at other places in Nantucket with very friendly staff.

Deena B.

Yelp
Nothing to write home about. After being really excited to try this place for a couple years now, it finally made our line-up for this year. As long time Blue Ginger fans, we thought for sure that The Pearl could fill this void. Unfortunately we just weren't at all impressed. From the extremely rushed service. Example...All of our 4 appetizers arrived at the same time. From being out of every decent bottle of sake (even the one in their signature cocktail), from the so-so lobster lo-mein they are apparently famous for. It just didn't add up to a great meal. The lobster tail was over fried and tough to cut & chew. Tough lobster on Nantucket? It was extremely disappointing to say the least. The Pearl needs to step up their game. Period.

Tony U.

Yelp
Why I'll go back: Unique (for Nantucket) combo of seafood and Asian flavors in a sexy vibe You HAVE to order: The stir fried lobster wok is a signature dish that lives up to its hype (and is sufficiently large to split between two people) Tony's Tip: If you do a later rezzie, the legendary bar should be hoppin' by the time you're done and I'd do a nightcap there. I'll admit The Pearl doesn't always kill it for me - I've had underwhelming dishes there before. But last night was fantastic, including service from our waiter, who was friendly and on top of things. We sat at 9:30 and were done by 11:00. Tuna + salmon poke was a tasty combination of flavors. Foie gras laced potstickers were substantial, and I thought the Japanese wedge salad was a nice departure from what is typically a hunk of lettuce overwhelmed with blue cheese dressing. Instead, this one was accompanied by a more subtle buttermilk dressing, blue cheese crumbles, and just enough bacon shavings to add a little more texture and seasoning. And yes, the wok w/ lobster is a must. I don't know if it will still be on the wine list, but the Malbec I had was fantastic and a great pairing for what we ordered. Last word - if you want to take things up a notch after dinner, head next door to sister establishment The Boarding House and close out the night with a high energy crowd, great tunes, and bartenders that work their a**es off!

Stephanie Y.

Yelp
Private event review - chef's table: I got marrrrrriiiiieeeeedddddd. Yep. It's true. I did it. There was only 8 of us and it was perfect. Partially because the staff at The Pearl and the chef's table, mostly because I love my husband. If you are having a smaller private event like a wedding, birthday, etc.. this is a no brainer. For reals, yo. The chef's table space - outdoors and perfect. A nice garden area to enjoy cocktails and then a covered table at the kitchen doors for the meal. The provided two different set menu's at two different price points to choose from. We opted for the baller one and there was so much food. Asian influenced, but not spicy and focusing on Nantucket fresh ingredients. Everything that went in my mouth was perfection. I was tipsy, so I won't go into detail. - Lobster rangoon. YEP! Sounds a bit pedestrian, but oh so lobstery and creamy. - I preferred the chili beef vs the fried lobster. Both dishes are large, but that chili beef had such great flavor profiling - cloyingly sweet. - Cocktails are strong and tasty. - Service was impeccable. - Dessert tasting wasn't as strong, but I was so full by the time it came. Those chocolate chip cookies tho, those chocolate chip cookies. So much more food was involved this night that I won't go into detail. All I do know is that if you are searching Yelp for an upscale, memorable night out, The Pearl is a great spot for all that and more. It will cost you, but well worth the price tag. I look forward to celebrating my anniversary year after year at this thoughtful and innovative restaurant. Bonus: Thanks for the champagne and thanks to the hostess and servers for being so helpful and lovely.

Nicole E.

Yelp
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Owners of 20 years, Chef Seth and Angela always do a phenomenal job of ensuring their food and beverage program as well as their customer service is functioning at a 5-star level. Chef Seth's culinary creativity and ability to execute NYC Michelin style meals is second to none on island. We visited on a Sunday evening on Labor Day Weekend and as soon as we picked up the wine list, a lovely and knowledgeable sommelier greeted us and assisted us in making a wine choice. We had a glass of our white burgundy and were then greeted by our server, who was extremely pleasant, friendly, and knowledgeable. We ordered the crab rangoons (best you'll ever have in your life), tuna martini (to die for), and the soft shell crab and lobster wok entrees. They were precisely seasoned and embodied exquisite flavor. We ate every last bite and couldn't have enjoyed the encounters with staff, food, wine, and overall milieu, vibe and experience more. This place is simply sensational and anyone who gives it a negative review, simply isn't qualified to assess culinary skills. HIGHLY recommend and a must visit while on island. You won't be disappointed.

Erin C.

Yelp
Had their signature dish panko fried lobster over lo neon noodles. Food mediocre. Service horrendous. Coming from a food & restaurant background I was appalled at the hostess and the waitstaff service. Made reservations 1 month in advance, we were seated right be the door the worst table in the restaurant. When we asked for a different table we were told that every table was reserved. The entire time I observed 2 tables with no patrons & that remained vacant the entire time we were there. As I've been traveling to Nantucket ever year for the past decade I have never met a ruder hostess, my father would agree& we will never go back. Awful experience after an expensive over priced dinner

pAUL C.

Yelp
What a luxurious experience. We loved the spaciousness of the indoor seating (no doubt a silver lining of COVID) and the luxury of the well conceived and crafted food. A memorable experience.

Emily H.

Yelp
LOVED our dinner here last weekend! A little on the pricey side but all our courses and cocktails were delicious, and the servers were friendly. Their beer selection was also unique: My husband particularly enjoyed the Japanese beers on their menu (one was a green-colored Matcha one!) We will definitely be back next summer

Jin C.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in Nantucket! This Asian Fusion restaurant will not disappoint. To begin with, we wanted to order a few things to start while our waiter was taking our drink orders, but he stopped us and said "sorry the kitchen is expecting high volume so if you could just order all at once.." which was very, very odd. Whatever. After he brought our drinks, he came back and THEN we were able to place orders, finally. We ordered practically everything on the menu. Everything was absolutely delicious. Must get: Bao, Chili Cucumbers (if you like pickles, this is very good), Fried Lobster, Sweet + Sour Halibut. All of these things are to die for and the flavors all compliment one another! Very good. Could pass on: Spring rolls. There are two different kinds, and both could are good, but not a must. Overall, Pearl's is a great modern, chic dining option in Nantucket, but the strange comment from our server to hold off on ordering certainly threw us all off.

Faith R.

Yelp
Where do I start?! My FAVORITE place in NANTUCKET!!! the front server wasn't the nicest or helpful but it is what it is. Our SOM was amazing! We told him what we wanted as far as red summer wines and he hit it out of the park! It was a new Pinot noir that just came in and was delicious! Our waiter was awesome! Offered great choices and attended to us the right way. Now to the food! AAAAHHHMAZING!! All the photos that I posted were great! I honestly loved everything! And the music was a great fun atmosphere. I will be thinking about this food again and can't wait to come back!! Need to Ty the deserts but I'm sure that will be great as well!

Anabelle D.

Yelp
Try to have as many different plates as you can because each plate will Amaze you! Portions are generous so sharing could be a good way to do it. The lobster rangoons are amazing, the lettuce wraps are to die for and the wok fried lobster is superb. We also had the pots tickers and they were also good but nothing extraordinary. The place is beautiful, the staff is really nice and the ambiance is lovely. A true gem!

Ryan R.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for a romantic dinner during our Nantucket stay. It had been 15 years since the last time I ate here. It was amazing back then, but now it seems like an Emperor's New Clothes situation. The food and drinks all have fancy descriptions and detailing, but don't actually taste that great or have what they say they'll have. My husband ordered their signature lobster dish. It was yummy, but nothing special. I ordered the entree portion of the Filet medallions, which I thought were to be served atop seared foie gras. When I saw there was no foie gras, I asked the waiter if maybe they forgot to add it. He explained that it is a seared foie gras butter. HUH?! I'm paying this much for a drizzle of butter that you say is from foie gras?! Nope. Not ok, people. The award winning cocktail was good, but I would not give it an award. Clearly the judges of that contest don't drink very many good cocktails. Maybe I've lived in Manhattan too long, but The Pearl is average at best.

Yelp
If anyone gives this place less than 5 stars, they're probably impossible to please. The food here is very well comprised with the best ingredients available. The lobster wok is amazing, that's typically what I order. The shishedo peppers are so simply done. The dessert options are all good, however, I do encourage you to ask for the milk and cookies which aren't on the menu but they come from the restaurant next door. They're to die for!

Yelp
Ok so I do not really need to add more fawning but I cannot seem to help myself. Lost in Translation is as good as they say and it is incredibly drinkable. I started with the Chef's crudo. It came with unbelievable tuna with an Uni sauce, lobster skewered, and octopus, hamachi in a sesame sauce. I would have licked the plates clean if it would not have been so rude. I then went to the famous 60 second steak, foie gras and quail egg. The egg was only slightly overcooked as was the meet but that is just being nitpicky. Then I went back to the tuna martini which was a mistake because of the tuna/uni was impossible to compete with but it was still very good. I finished with a banana desert that was the perfect ending. Loved it! I sat at the bar and the bartending staff was very friendly and attentive!

Yelp
Indifferent service, small portions and tasteless food. There are much better places in Nantucket

Yelp
We had a reservation for 6pm, and when we arrived we asked if we could have an open table in a corner. We were told we could not have that table because it was reserved for later and we might not be done in time. About two minutes later, a party without a reservation walked in and was seated at the same corner table that we were denied. They were told they had to be done by 7:45, but we were not given that option. (We were in fact done by 7:45.) I asked about this and was given a tepid apology by the hostess, but nothing was done to address the issue. I think what actually happened was that they didn't want to have to turn away a walk in party - but this resulted in treating the walk ins better than a party who had reserved - not to mention that we were essentially lied to about the availability of the table. This is a bad approach, especially for an upscale restaurant in an area with a lot of frequent restaurant goers. The food was very good, the decor is beautiful, and the service was OK.

Yelp
My husband and I dined here for our anniversary as I heard great things about this restaurant from friends and the concierge at our hotel. The food was good (not amazing) and the ambiance outside was fine. Between the two it was sure not worth the price fix $95/pp. The food was good, not the best food in Nantucket by far and what really surprised us was the ambiance and service. I could justify going back if the price was lowered to maybe $60-$70/pp but at close to $100 you get a small appetizer and the dessert they offer is minimal (microwaved chocolate chip cookie). I'd pass sadly.

Yelp
Ya girl can usually only afford to dine here during restaurant week, but Angela & Seth always have me craving the Pearl and drooling over their Instagram posts. Now that the questionable cocktail choices of my early 20s are in my past (bye blue long islands and tequila sunrises) I now see the merit of their $17 passion fruit cosmo. It just takes one sip and I can immediately justify a treat yoself moment by having multiple cosmos there versus a mediocre vodka soda elsewhere. The lobster rangoon (yes singular, you get one per order), is crispy heaven on a plate. The yellowfin tuna martini is always a nice light option to get some raw fish in before the big show. Their holy grail is obviously the classic salt and pepper wok fried lobster with lo mein. Years ago at their former sister restaurant Corazon Del Mar, I drank the koolaid and become addicted to their Krack sauce. I'll always order a side for my noodles, and beg that they start bottling it up for sale again . Their scrumptious desserts seem to vary but the baked Alaska and and mini cookies I've had in the past were top notch. Definitely a great option if you're feeling like splurging, it's worth it!

Yelp
The Pearl is one of the more hip restaurants on Nantucket. The eclectic, Asian influenced menu is executed very well. I really enjoyed their Black Magic Noodle dish and their lobster is fantastic. I would highly recommend The Pearl if you're looking for a less traditional dinning experience on Nantucket.

Yelp
Wow, I knew this was going to be a good place, but it blew our minds. When we got to Nantucket, we wanted a beautiful meal, nice atmosphere without too much pretension, and something different. We've had our share of Berkshire pork chops, lobster rolls, filet, you get the idea... When I saw the tasting menu here, I knew I had to try it. Every single course was gorgeous, in presentation and in taste. We sat inside because it was unusually cold for September, but we were so glad we did. The ambience is cozy, elegant and intimate. It feels historic but also new. The service was fantastic, not too much, but just enough attention. The food was outstanding, all of it! The tempura fried (very light) wok lobster course was one of the best I've ever had. The tuna martini was insane! The Lo Mein alone was delicious, all of it was beyond amazing. I highly, highly recommend. Everyone was nice, the atmosphere was lovely and the food was some of the best food we had on Nantucket. Great job Pearl!! We'll be back.

Yelp
Ok, I always start with the negative: it's a scene, the bar is beyond crazy, it's expensive, lord it really is- $100.00 per person w/ drinks & gratuity. It takes itself a little seriously. Can be loud & obnoxious. HOWEVER: it is SO DAMN DELICIOUS, the food is marvelous, the bar backs charming, the hostesses pretty, the food is so damn delicious ..... The atmosphere is sophisticated & sleek.. The wait staff on top of their game.... The food is so damn delicious... Oops! Did I mention the food? Anyhooo, if I were richer & thinner, I'd eat here every night!

Yelp
Stopped here for drinks at the bar. Great scene. Lots of interesting locals. Excellent wine list and cocktails. Ordered a Lazarus (outstanding) and a tasty Sancerre rose I'd never heard of. Really friendly service. My only regret is that I was having so much fun that I forgot to order food before the kitchen closed.

Yelp
What a treat (after the night before with horrible attitude from another Nantucket eatery) to go to The Pearl. It's very well run -- a tight ship, as it were, and in July on Nantucket, that's saying something! Our server, Marina, was great. She had recommendations about this dish or that dish and the bustling support staff around her was always on top of it. I mentioned to my friends that I wished I had a spoon to get the rest of the soup-like sauce that came with my halibut and one magically appeared. They overheard me as they walked by and just got one. They were paying attention! And the food was great. Both appetizers we ordered were terrific and everyone loved their entrees. And we shared bites and all thought they were great around the table. Our cocktails were excellent, as well. The place is packed -- and justifiably so -- so it's a bit noisy at times, but it never got crazy. The setting is sleek and sophisticated and darkly lit which was good. It's expensive -- but everything in Nantucket is expensive! But, here, you didn't feel like you were just getting the big bill for average fare or service. Quite the opposite. Wish we had time to go back again!
