food quality: 5/5 service: 5/5 cleanliness: 5/5 value: 5/5 Don’t skip on: Ca Phe and Mussels First time trying out The Pearl, and I’m so glad we did! Their menu has grown much more since they opened and I’m glad we were able to get a table as a walk in. The staff was very kind and welcoming and the restaurant was clean. We ordered a few dishes to share as a table: Wings - Fish Sauce and Thai Peanut - what a great deal on a Wednesday! They had $6 wings (6 pieces) and they came out so crunchy and fresh. Banh Mi - $16- Lemongrass Pork with all the fixings. My *only* complaint is that they didn’t have patê, but it was still a very flavorful sandwich Blue Mussels and Toast- $32 - I’m pretty sure they put something magical in the sauce. It was SO incredibly delicious! The mussels come with toast and I ended up dipping everything I could in it, including the shrimp chips that came with the banh mi. Grilled Lemongrass Pork- $28 - I always hesitate when it comes to whole pork chops, restaurants never seem to get it right, but the Pearl did fantastic. The pork chop had lovely grill marks and you can smell the char, and the meat was moist and tender ✅✅✅. Lastly, the relish that it came with was… different, but it really surprised me how good it ended up tasting! Vermicelli Bowl - standard, but good. Probably wouldn’t order again for $17 Ca Phe - $14 - I LOVE Vietnamese coffee and this cocktail made me love it even more! A bit on the high end for a cocktail, but it was delicious! Pear Bear - $12 - the perfect drink for summer! Light and crisp! We also had mocktails at our table - no idea what they were since it was Bartender’s choice, but they were good! Would definitely go back again to try other items. Highly recommended!!

Excellent food, staff, drinks, and service! It's a limited menu but has something for everyone. I only tried the pork skewers and wings but they were super delicious and well flavored! Cocktails were on point as well. Definitely will be back to try some of the larger dishes. A must visit in SLC!

This place is 10/10! The food is incredible. The menu is simple but elevated. The prices are reasonable. The service is attentive and timely. Okkk now let’s get to the good stuff - what should you order? If you order nothing but the ube pancakes, you could be happy for the rest of the day. These pancakes are fluffy and the passionfruit cream between them is to dieeee for. I’d personally come back just for the pancakes!!! We also ordered the Vegan Bahn Mi, a side of bok choy and avocado toast with a side of potatoes. Everything was seriously incredible - flavour profiles were well balanced. While there was a slightly spicy sauce on the eggs, it was more tangy than spicy and paired perfectly with the eggs. The Vietnamese coffee was made perfectly - not too sweet and had a hint of bitterness from the coffee so you know it’s the goood stuff. I don’t drink so while I can’t vouch for the alcoholic drinks, I did see a lot of people order them as well! The ambiance and decor are also awesome. Parking: there are lots of 2h parking spots for free around the corner and across the street as well. I went on a Sunday so it didn’t seem like the 2h rule was super enforced but take this advice on your own discretion! I am sure weekdays are more strict.

Great service, great vibes. Cool bar with N/A options available. Highly recommend - will go again soon! Note: 21+ no children allowed, so cannot bring babies or kiddos.

first time coming, loved the shrimp rolls and cocktail. I got the rare flank steak, broth wasn’t hot enough so it was pretty raw no worries tho what surprised me that it also had shredded chicken - i know it was made with chicken broth but didn’t mention there would be pieces of chicken in it. chili oil was amazing. Def excited to try the banh mi and wings next time!

Best Brunch Ever! We ordered the spam and eggs rice bowl that came with fantastic kimchi and perfectly cooked over-easy eggs that coated the rice in yummy/runny yolk; the eggs benedict that came with crispy breakfast potatoes; and a yam pancake on the side, which came with a huge dollop of thick and creamy whipped cream and fresh blueberries. The pancake was honestly the star of the show because it was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside and not too sweet. The whipped cream could have been clotted cream because it was so thick. We also ordered a mimosa and bloody mary (bar, not a restaurant). The bloody mary was perfect! It was spicy, sharp and came with a bunch of garnishes. They were playing classic 70's rock in the background, which is my favorite. The service, atmosphere, food, drinks were all top notch! I've found my new go-to brunch spot. It's been 5 hours since lunch and I am still stuffed! I don't think I'll even need dinner tonight. I took photos of their Sunday Pho menu, their lunch menu and dinner menu as well. Sorry I didn't get a photo of the breakfast menu.

Lovely bites with a kick. A unique seasonal menu of tea cocktails that were an absolute hit. A cozy spot with fun decor and kind staff. Excited to return to try something new!

Oh my GOD I love this place! The decorations are nice inside and the food is great. I really loved everything we ordered. Banh Mi, Carmel pork belly with egg, and a special tofu menus were all very delicious. My favorite one was banh mi - it's heavier than other ones I've tried, but the taste is great. Pork belly was also delicious. You do need to present your ID because they sell alcohol. It can get busy after 6 or 7, so be there early.

Yelp
The Pearl is one of my go-to spots -- I come here all the time. It's a great place to grab a drink, especially on the weekends when there's usually a DJ playing and the vibe is lively but still chill. I've tried a few of their dishes, and as a Vietnamese person, I thought the eggrolls were solid. Definitely tasty. The congee is one I'd highly recommend. It's very flavorful, filling, and the portion is generous. Cocktails are always on point. The menu rotates, but I've really enjoyed a few, especially the roselle-colored glasses and the Vietnamese coffee drink. I've also tried the Phoquiri from a friend's order -- wasn't really my thing, but that's more of a personal taste. The decor inside is adorable. I'm a big fan of the umbrella ceiling, such a cute Viet touch. It does get pretty crowded on the weekends, so I'd suggest going a little early to put your name down. While you wait, there are a few other great neighborhood bars you can pop into for a drink. The Pearl never disappoints, and I'll definitely keep coming back.!

Yelp
I've been watching the Pearl since it opened, but never made it because of limited menu options that it had in the past. This visit was nothing like I expected. There were a ton of specialty cocktails, but also a solid menu. We were lucky that they were having a wing special while visiting, and the peanut sauce wings were incredible. Super unique it also delicious. The bahn mi was really good, with a great crisp and flavorful. I tried a bunch of other dishes too, and everything was balanced in flavor and delicious to eat. The staff was friendly and helpful in making suggestions. It's a small shop, but they were able to accommodate our party of 5 with out much trouble. The decor is clean and on theme. You get clear beach feelings inside, which add to the experience. I would definitely stop by again.

Yelp
We came specifically for wing Wednesday. The weekly special was green goddess which was pretty yummy! I love the concept and vibes of this place. It's small and lively, but still comfy. It was super crowded for good reason. The wings are fried so well and the crunch on them is amazing. Flavor-wise....everything was a lot more toned down than I was expecting. I didn't taste any fish sauce in the fish sauce wings and I thought the papaya salad was too mild (not spicy, sour, or fishy enough), which makes me think the place is catering to other folks haha. But overall, a great place to come with friends and they have good fried chicken (so come on Wednesday)!!

Yelp
Stumbled upon this gem of a breakfast bar. The islander in me is extremely pleased with the option of perfectly fried spam and eggs over rice with kimchi and a homemade crispy chili garlic sauce. Oh and...the Vietnamese coffee was the best I've had.

Yelp
I love the Pearl! They have great food and delicious drinks. The music is great, live music nights are even better, and the patio is perfect this time of year. Service is personable, quick, and the staff can make a beautiful and tasty drink if you're not sure what you want. My Báhn Mì was the best I've had in a long time! The bread had a bit of crunch, the pork was flavorful, and the veggies were fresh. Looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
I spontaneously stopped here for lunch on a road trip and loved it. The decor took me back to my Vietnam trip almost 10 years ago. Lots of great memories. I ordered the breakfast banh mi and ca phe cocktail. Both were tasty. There's indoor and outdoor seating, but I stayed inside to enjoy the energy and vibe from the staff and customers. The bartender helped walk me thru their drink menu. I thought their drinks have unique flavors. I'll definitely be back to try other items; sit outside, and catch one of their events.
google avatar

Yelp
A cute and casual Vietnamese spot with indoor and outdoor seating. Came here for lunch and knew I wanted to try the pork belly bowl. I got this with the rice noodles and was glad I chose that over the rice. I think the spicy sauce and the salty pork needed the light and cool pairing of the noodles and it worked really well together. The menu wasn't super extensive, but I think the items that are on there they have locked down, which is honestly my preference. Our server was so nice and had such a happy and friendly demeanor it was contagious. The music, decor, and overall atmosphere really brought the whole thing together for a great experience.

Yelp
Heard this place had good nuoc mam wings, so I went to give it a shot. Wednesday is half off wings day, so they're half off and the place is twice as loud. It works out to about a buck per wing, which isn't bad, but I'm just not a huge wing person. However!!! No one told me about the porridge??? Fake friends. It was incredible. I don't know if it's just because I grew up in a Chinese-Viet household where porridge only came out when someone was sick (bland, plain, maybe some pork sung and salted duck egg if Grandma thought you could handle it) but this porridge felt like going on a bender with your best friend. It was seasoned and balanced, a little spicy, textured just right with the fried shallot your dad might sneak in for you, not too much of anything, not too little. I'd absolutely come back for this again. And if that wasn't enough, they had some really cool cocktails. There's something for everyone, and the staff was super friendly. Even when the place was packed, we never felt overlooked. 10/10 would bring a friend here to make them feel better about life.

Yelp
We wanted to explore SLC, and after hitting up a brewery, we decided to come to The Pearl for some Vietnamese-inspired food. We would have loved to sit outside, but the seating wasn't prepared just yet, so we sat indoors! The ambiance was charming... and they played good music. Parking was kinda hard as street parking is required. We were easily seated and ordered some drinks and wings! The Ten Pin Thai and Ca Phe cocktails were both excellent. We also tried the Fish Sauce Wings; however, the fish sauce flavor was subtle, and we wished it had been more distinct. Overall, a good experience.
google avatar

Michelle K.

Yelp
I came here thinking there would be pho but apparently they only sell pho on Sundays! Regardless, I ended up getting the pork belly porridge and devoured it in 5min. The pork belly was tender, and the saltiness of the porridge itself was on the dot. It's very loud inside, however, so it definitely feels more like a bar than a restaurant. They have a DJ playing in the corner which was dope.

Yelp
This was a great spot to grab a quick tasty lunch. I stopped in before noon on Friday and it wasn't busy yet. I got the vegan mushroom banh mi sandwich with a side of green papaya salad, and both items were yummy and flavorful. I especially liked the mushrooms in the banh mi, they were cooked to perfection and very saucy. The green papaya salad was nice and fresh and spicy. I loved the vibes inside the restaurant and the staff were extremely friendly. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We'll be back soon for sure. This little, unassuming "bar" really impressed us. A group of us went for brunch, and we were all blown away by the ambiance, service, and especially the food and drinks. For drinks, I personally got the Alley Cat which was great, but by far my favorite that I tried was the Ca Phe. For food, I got the breakfast bahn mi, and it was excellent: flavorful, balanced, fresh--what's not to love? The potatoes also were seasoned beautifully. My only complaint is that I wish the place was bigger so I could bring all my friends and family!

Yelp
Fantastic breakfast & brunch spot! Modern, bar with limited seating, and tasteful decor. Delicious traditional dishes with an Asian spin. They are a bar so don't forget your ID. Breakfast opens at 10:30 on Sunday and getting there right at open gives you, your pick of seating. We ordered the Vietnamese coffee - which is an ABSOLUTE MUST. I had to restrain myself from order a 2nd and 3rd serving. Cold brew was also very tasty, but closer to an iced coffee. The table ordered the Spam and Eggs, Bahn Mi Breakfast Sandwich, Avocado Toast, and Ube Pancakes. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of those choices. The portion sizes are larger and the food was cooked to perfection. The subtle spices, marinated veggies, and Asian spin presented some incredibly interesting and delicious dishes. Flavors were on point! Even if you are getting a dish for yourself, get the Ube pancakes to share. You DO NOT WANT TO MISS. Overall, very impressed and will definitely be recommending brunch here to others. We will be back!

Yelp
Yum! Bf found this spot on Yelp for brunch near our hotel. What a hidden treasure (one may even say... Just like a pearl L O L) Require 21+ ID check at entrance. We were seated immediately on a Friday afternoon. Adore the nautical theme + Halloween decor. Staff are welcoming & attentive. VEGAN MUSHROOM RICE BOWL (with egg): Simple yet well-balanced. The first thing I noticed is that rice is cooked perfectly, with no starchy residue (!!!). Mushrooms lean more soy-sauce flavored, still savory and tender. Veg are fresh or pickled well. Everything was great together :) Bf really liked his banh mi. We shared a glass of their special house cider-- SO good. Highly recommend it! Looks like their brunch menu may be weekend only-- we'll be coming back!

Yelp
I stopped by to check out an aperol sprits sponsored event called rnbounce. I tried some of their Sunday menu while there. I'd give it an overall 6.5/10. They were offering elote, tacos, pozole and shrimp ceviche. I had the barbacoa and smoked chicken tacos which weren't bad. The food didn't take too long to come out but they came out hardly warm and were a little small (two biters). I highly enjoyed the flavors in the barbacoa taco though! I also ordered the shrimp ceviche which was overpowered by lime juice and cilantro. It was served on a tostada which got soggy from the lime juice, I probably wouldn't order that again. However, I loved the patio. The DJ that they had playing had a summer dance rnb and thought it was a nice summer lunch vibe especially since there are both sunny and shady spots. I've heard great things about their regular menu which I would like to come back and try sometime.

Yelp
Wow - just wow!! Excellent 5 star service all the way from start to finish. Full bar with seating outdoor at the courtyard. They serve PHO Vietnamese during winter and fusion Mexican from spring to summer. Their soup was excellent and everything we had here was a one of a kind that none of us have ever tasted before. Flavors were so intensely so good and unique. A must visit during your visit at SLC and not to be missed. Cheers!
google avatar

Katherine K.

Yelp
My guy and I were super excited to find somewhere that served Ube Pancakes and were extra excited by the addition of passionfruit whipped cream. Unfortunately, they fell very flat. There was barely any passionfruit flavor to the whipped cream and you could only taste it on its own. Since they put the whipped cream between the 2 pancakes, it made the pancakes get soggy pretty quickly. The pancakes themselves had a nice purple color to them, but there was no ube flavor we could taste. We didn't even end up finishing them. Also tried their Vietnamese coffee and it was only okay. From the reviews, it seems like the dinner menu and pho is much better, but I don't think we would bother coming to try it if we come back to town.
google avatar

Cory R.

Yelp
The first promising sign was this place was packed! The wait was 20 minutes which wasn't bad at all for how busy they were. I was craving spam, rice, and eggs which I already peeped on the menu. The servers were on top of bringing drinks and food quickly. The spam and egg dish, red Bennie, and ube pancakes were all delicious! The ambiance was chill and vibrant. Definitely worth a visit!
google avatar

Westyn R.

Yelp
Great vibes. Good food. This won't win an award for authentic Vietnamese food but its delicious in its own right.

Yelp
I love their food! Service is great with helpful, friendly staff. Little loud for talking at dinner on a weekend evening but worth the food.

Yelp
Fun little spot for drinks and food. Great service all around. Loved the banh mi, curry and the wings. Sat at the bar. Overall great experience.

Yelp
Hot date, hot food. What a great atmosphere. The Vegan options are to die for as I'm now joining veganism. The bahn mi was scrumdidiliumptuos.

Yelp
The staff here is amazing!! The food rocks my world! Those two sisters, Alex and Moosh are cute as a button and darn good at their job! 100% will be back!

Yelp
The fish sauce wings are probably my favorite thing to eat ever. Been to the pearl at least 5 times now and each time I've loved it. Brunch is phenomenal- the ube pancakes are to die for and the Vietnamese coffee and cocktails rock. Everything is fairly priced too which is rare, making this place my favorite restaurant/bar in the city. Nice job!!
google avatar

GingerSnap S.

Yelp
The brunch is great, they can cook and soft scramble to perfection and the place is small (my vibe). I've gone for dinner and it was okay. The drink menu is balanced. I wish they would do reservations.
google avatar

Deanne B.

Yelp
Be careful if you can't handle spicy things! My dish didn't say that it had any spicy ingredients and I ended up not being able to eat it. They made me a new one which was very kind of them but both dishes took a very long time to get so it was quite late by the time I got to eat. I hope moving forward they will include all ingredients on the menu especially if it is an ingredient that makes a dish very spicy. The place is very cute though and I'm sure the rest of the food is great!

Yelp
Felt a little let down after seeing all of the hype from the reviews. We were visiting Salt Lake City for a few days and this place popped up on our radar after we visited some breweries in the area. However, I felt like this was kind of a letdown. The menu leans strongly Vietnamese and they have an extensive selection of liquors in their bar. We ordered the fried egg rolls to start. They were good, but not exceptional. The texture inside the fried egg rolls were kind of mushy that was offputting. For my entree, I got the black cod and my friend got the rice poridge with the wood ear mushrooms and the pork belly. I normally love black cod. It's a pretty forgiving fish, since it's pretty fatty and not very fishy. However, their black cod didn't really hit the spot for me. First it smelled a bit fishy. Second, the seasoning didn't seem to fit quite right with the fish. My friend got the rice poridge and while I tried a piece of the mushrooms and thought that they were flavored really well, overall she said that her dish was too salty and too spicy for her to enjoy.
google avatar

Olysia J.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I stumbled across this cute place and it's definitely in my top ten. The decor is so cute and the food is phenomenal. We both got the breakfast bahn mi and the ube pancakes. The service was fantastic and I will definitely be returning.

Yelp
It took some convincing but I finally got my husband to visit The Pearl since they don't have a phone number and it's a first come first serve until they sell our place. This is a bar so only 21+ years. This place is a gem! We came on a Tuesday so we enjoyed some jazz music and took in the fun decor. To drink, I ordered a mocktail (bartender's choice) and my hubs ordered the Tet Cat. I enjoyed my drink and so did my husband until he got a stomach ache (he's sensitive to HFS, so there might have been a little in his drink somewhere). To eat, we ordered wings, skewers and a banh mi to share. The wings were so crispy and hot -- definitely a must order. The skewers were also made to be turned into lettuce wraps and the meat was juicy and tender. The banh mi was fresh and so tasty -- another must. Overall, we were very pleased with our meal at The Pearl and will be back again soon!
google avatar

Mindy R.

Yelp
I had the eggs Benedict and a mimosa for the Sunday brunch and they were both to die for! Some of the best eggs Bennie I've ever had. This place gives such a unique twist to every item on the menu, I highly recommend you treat yourself to an amazing meal!
google avatar

Drew R.

Yelp
When I saw this place on social media, I was really excited. It's a very cute spot for brunch. We went for Sunday brunch and surprisingly it wasn't busy at all. We immediately got seated. The food here is yummy. I got a spam and rice bowl. It's a classic Asian breakfast dish for me, and it didn't disappoint at all. The eggs Benedict were yummy, and the ube pancakes were super good. I really wish I could give this place a 5 star review because I did enjoy the food and drinks so much, but sadly our service wasn't 5 star worthy. We sat for so long before someone even brought us water. After that we sat for a really long time again before we were able to order food. Our food came out quick except for the Ube pancakes. People who were sat after us got their pancakes before us. We had to ask 3 separate times for the pancakes before it even came out. Also, our water cups remain empty...even after our check came and we paid. I think we finally got a refill was because we sat there waiting for our friend from using the restroom. It's a great place, and I hope it was just a one off experience...but I'm not in any rush to go back.

Yelp
Husband and I came in here at 11:45am on a Wednesday, and sat right down, only one other person was there. Waitress came right over, got us drinks and menus. The service was great the whole time. The lunch menu is limited, and I don't eat pork, so the only options for non-appetizers were the mushroom bowl or the egg bahn-mi. I got the mushroom bowl and asked for an egg since I'm not vegan. Husband got the lemongrass pork bowl. We also got the salad and shrimp egg rolls as appetizers. None of the food was amazing. It was okay, but considering the reviews I was expecting more flavor. I had to add a considerable amount of sriracha to my bowl. It was a ton of rice. And the mushrooms tasted like soy sauce. The shrimp egg rolls were small and average. The salad was romaine with some other veggies but the dressing was a lot of rice wine vinegar. Overall I wouldn't go back. Maybe the dinner menu is better. I was hoping to try the pho but they don't offer it for lunch.
google avatar

John V.

Yelp
They do a great job of mixing new and traditional Vietnamese flavors to their menu items. The Ube pancakes were definitely the reasons we went to The Pearl for Sunday Brunch. As the Asian Aunties would say, "Not Too Sweet!" The passion fruit whip cream with raspberry really cuts the sweetness from the syrup and Ube. The Spam and Eggs were simple but has a great flavors with the pickled carrots/daikon and Kimchi. The seasoning on the Sunnyside up eggs were delicious too. The bacon in the Breakfast Banh Mi was a great compliment to the eggs and pickled vegetables. Always nice to have seasoned potatoes as well. Had bartender make two random drinks. One with the vodka from Vietnam and one with a Jamaican rum. Both were fantastic. Definitely great cocktails.

Yelp
The unique menu lured us in, and just in time for happy hour. I got the fish sauce wings, which at $7, they were a steal! They were pungent for sure, but don't let that deter you because they tasted good and the portion was fairly large for an app. My cousin got the veggie bahn mi which she enjoyed. As for drinks, I got the coffee inspired one which was too heavy on the spices for my preference. Overall, would recommend.
google avatar

Bryson W.

Yelp
I was a lone so I didn't get to try much, but I really liked the space and thought the food was pretty good. It didn't blow me away like I hoped but I enjoyed it. I wouldn't mind coming back with a group so that I could try a little bit of everything as the menu is pretty small. I had the fish sauce wings and the greens and mushrooms. The fish sauce wings were crisp and perfectly cooked - if you like fish sauce you'll like these. The greens (box choy) and mushrooms have (I think) that tingly chili that you'll find on Chinese tingly Sichuan noodle, although I had hoped it would have a little more flavor. Overall, I enjoyed it but I won't put it on my must eat SLC spots, I much prefer Nohm around the corner.

Yelp
Great music, great drinks, and awesome small plates of Asian food. Must be 21 to enter.

Yelp
Not surprised that I loved my first visit to The Pearl. Came for a girls' night and after we struggled a little to find parking, we walked in to live music, amazing drinks and food, and such a cool vibe. Their house cocktail list was so interesting and creative, with ingredients like pho spices, black sticky rice, and brown sugar boba. I tried the Roselle Colored Glasses drink (roku gin, sorel liqueur, chrysanthemum, pomegranate, lemon, prosecco) and it was the perfect light, fruity, not-too-sweet sparkly treat. Drooled over all the food choices but finally narrowed it down to the lemongrass pork skewers with house fish sauce, some kind of amazing fried shrimp balls, and Vietnamse pork sausage. Then, the steamed branzino with soy ginger sauce, glass noodles, and greens, OMG. It was BEAUTIFUL. Perfectly seasoned without overwhelming the delicate fish and such an explosion of flavors. I'll be thinking of this dish for a long time. This is an amazing restaurant in Utah that doesn't have a single burger on the menu and people are flocking to it because it stands on its own. Bravo, Chef Tommy Nguyễn!

Yelp
Great food, good service. Fun atmosphere too. We will Bo back again. The trax train goes by for a little extra excitement.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast last Sunday. They only had breakfast options. I wished they had the other food options because I really wanted to try that menu. But nonetheless I excited to try their Ube pancakes because I loveeeee ube! The pancakes were big and delicious. I hardly used any syrup because the passionfruit whip cream that came with it paired perfectly! Blueberries were added and they all mixed really well together! I liked that these pancakes weren't too sweet even with the passionfruit whip cream. I also got a lychee grapefruit mimosa. It was meh. I thought it just tasted like champagne I didn't really taste any other flavors. Bloody Mary was good. I liked the added Thai basil twist to it. My husband got breakfast banh mi. He thought it was okay it was a little too soggy for him with the egg. The bread was extremely soft and it came with the typical pickled veggies and some egg and bacon. He really liked the potatoes that came on the side. They were seasoned with some spicy seasoning that gave them a kick. Overall this place was good and I'm excited to come back later on the day to try their other menu options besides breakfast. But if you come during breakfast get the ube pancakes :)

Yelp
Just an FYI, they open for brunch at 11 am on Sundays! My friend and I came at 11 am and people were lined up outside waiting for them to open as they came at 10:30 not knowing they opened later. I hope they updated their hours on here, google, and their social medias! It was quite busy so it did take a while to order and get our food, about 40-45 minutes after sitting down. The ube pancakes were really good, I just wish they added more whipped cream as it was just a small blob one one side between the pancakes. It also seemed like the pancake batter wasn't mixed as thoroughly as you can see where clumps of plain flour when cutting into the pancake. I really enjoyed the red Bennie, the potatoes were too soft but everything else was good! My friend got the breakfast banh mi which was a bit underwhelming for being $14.

Yelp
There is so much to love about The Pearl, but most importantly, let's talk about the food. Vietnamese street food/fusion? Sign me up. The Breakfast Bahn Mi is my new favorite sandwich. Period. No competition. A crunchy and buttery baguette with pickled cucumber, jalapeños and cilantro topped with cheese, bacon, and fried eggs on top?! Every bite is a 5-star experience. You have to try it. I couldn't resist trying the ube pancakes and they were just as good as I wanted them to be. And the passion fruit whipped cream was such a great touch. Watch out buttermilk pancakes, ube's in town. The staff was very attentive and quick to serve. They've clearly been trained well. And the restaurants ambiance is both cozy and inviting. The Pearl has set some new brunch standards for me and I can't wait to tell more people about it.

Yelp
I was really happy to get the recommendation for the meatball banh mi. It was the first day it was on the menu, and the server told me I was the first customer to get what had been a staff secret so he was excited to see if I liked it. It was really good. I liked it, indeed!

Yelp
Great ambiance, food, and cocktails. Only complaint is you have to get there early because the kitchen will, without fail, run out of something you wanted and you won't know until you order, and sometimes not till after.

Yelp
I've had dinner at The Pearl a couple of times and have loved everything I've tried so far! The servers are also very friendly and helpful with suggestions. This is somewhere I would definitely take my parents as their dishes are authentic, and give me those memories of homemade dishes. The skewers come with a side a lettuce and pickled veggies on the side so you can make a little lettuce wrap. I really like the nem skewers as it tastes like real nem. The butter garlic wings are a hit or miss sometimes. The first time they were fried perfectly and had just the right amount of garlic flavor. This time, they were sooo sticky that they not only stuck to my teeth, but to the plate as well. It was hard to enjoy them. The main dishes are the stars and are just so delicious. The braised pork is so tender and the runny egg is surprising good! I'm used to hard boiled eggs in this dish, but the runny egg with the rice was perfect. The sauce is slightly sweet which pairs really well with the savory pork. The steamed fish tastes just like how my parents make it- gingery and melts in your mouth. I liked the addition of the mung bean noodles and bok choy (green veggie). Whatever you decide to get, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
The drinks at the Pearl are amazing! I've gone for lunch and breakfast and each time they exceed my expectations. The Ube pancakes are delicious! The bowls are great for breakfast and lunch! The ambiance is great for a girls night out or a date night. Love it!

Yelp
I've been wanting to check out The Pearl for a while know, and was absolutely blown away by our experience here. Wednesday nights are half-off wings night and they also had some wonderful live music. I'm not sure if the live music is here every week, but it was really lovely! The place was PACKED. Get here early on Wednesday if you want their wings, because they were sold out by the time we got here around 8:15ish. I got their Roshelle Colored Glasses to drink and it was light and fresh and really lovely. It seems like they may mix up the drinks here every so often so I'm not sure if this is a regular on the menu, but it was great. Gin, pomegranate, prosecco. They also had a boba cocktail on their menu! My partner got the lemongrass pork skewers with grilled pork, marinated in lemongrass with house fish sauce and he said the pork melted in his mouth upon the first bite. I ordered the greens & mushrooms with rice, bok choy and mushrooms sauteed with garlic and WOW. The flavors in this dish were insane. It definitely has a kick to it, which I'm not typically used to, but I ate every last bite that I could, I couldn't get enough of it. I can't describe the flavors well enough to do it justice. It was incredible, spicy, and so delicious. I can't wait to come back and get it again. My partner got the caramel pork belly with egg and had the same reaction. The only thing I wished was different in my dish was that it came with the egg from his dish because it looked delicious. I'm really truly salivating as I write this. The space itself has a cool vibe and is beautifully decorated. It feels like a little hidden gem sandwiched between two apartment buildings. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
I have only been here for brunch and it was amazing! Everything we had was delicious and I would order it again. Service was fast and friendly and the portions were boarder line too big for me. Ha! Ube pancakes were a delight and had a nice sweetness with the passionfruit cream to balance the spice from the other breakfast options. We ordered them for the table to share and they're a must if you come for brunch. Avocado toast, nice spin on the classic with just enough heat. Eggs Benedict, cooked to perfection with a nice light sauce to balance the heat. Eggs and spam, I was surprise how good it was with the rice and kimchi made it perfect. Banh mi breakfast sandwich was so filling with all the right breakfast ingredients like eggs, bacon, cheese with all the right flavor. I'll be back for more. Soft eggs scramble was like 6 eggs scrambled to perfection with toast. All served with potatoes that were actually delicious and not fillers of the plate. This place also has drinks and more drinks! Very impressed with the Vietnamese coffee and mimosas. Loved all the art on the walls and umbrellas on the celling. Pro tip: get here right when it opens at 10:30 for brunch it fills up fast. And don't worry, there is lots of street parking on 900s.

Yelp
Rating (maximum points = 5) Value for money: 4.5 Cleanliness: 5 Food Quality: 5 Customer Service: 5 Look and Feel (Ambiance): 5 Thank you, Come Again?: 5 I'm usually a little bit hesitant when it comes to fusion Asian food. Whenever I try places that have a modern take on classic Asian cuisine, I end up missing the original dish because the chefs strayed to far away from the classic recipes. The Pearl on the other hand, did not disappoint! I can tell the chefs at The Pearl truly enhanced/embraced the classic dishes and kept the familiar tastes. I would recommend giving this place a try if you want to go on a foodie adventure. Ca Phe: $13 - If you've ever had pho paired with the classic Cafe Sua De (Vietnamese coffee), this cocktail will instantly remind you of both. My reccomendation to the bartender is add a drizzle of condensed milk on the inside of the glass cup. Not only would the aesthetics be nice but it would add a familiar sweet milky taste to the cocktail that is commonly found in Vietnamese coffee. Fish Sauce Wings (6 pieces): $14 - Crispy texture on the outside with juicy tender center. These wings were instantly craveable. We even poured the extra sauce on top of our rice. Yum yum yummy! Caramel Pork Belly with Egg: $17 - the egg was a soft boil and paired nicely with the flavorful pork belly. One recommendation is to make the skin of the pork crispy. The crunchy pork belly skin against the meaty base would have been perfect. Nonetheless, the flavors were on point! Ginger Steamed Fish Black Code: $26 - wowza! I'm still thinking about the silky texture of the fish. The black cod generally has thick meaty pieces and is easy to overcook. The chefs did not overcook it one bit! The skin was crispy and full of flavor. I loved the pairing of silky clear noodles, mushrooms and baby bok choy. Similar treatment to the wings, we kept the sauce and poured the leftover on to our rice. We didn't waste a single drop! Ahh I'm just drooling over this fish. Extra plate of white rice: $3.00 - the rice was fluffy and soaked up all the extra sauces perfectly. People would be surprised on how challenging it can be to cook rice well. The chefs did justice to the rice! Overall, I would return to The Pearl and try other the other plates. I'm curious about their pho special. I talked to the server and he mentioned that they only serve it on Sundays due to limited kitchen space. Recommendation for people to arrive early. This bar/restaurant is small and have limited seating. Make sure to bring your ID, they will check it at the front door. Would you go? Let me know. Follow me for all the Salt City sips and trips.
