2 Days in Copenhagen

"Just a ten minute walk from the Little Mermaid you'll find The Pescetarian, a busy restaurant that's exactly what you'd expect to find in the Nordic Countries. It has a light, modern, minimalistic interior and, as its name suggests, features a generous selection of sustainably and locally sourced seafood on its tasting menu (a vegetarian alternative is also available)." - The MICHELIN Guide Nordic Editorial Team

The Pescatarian

"Dine in one of three rooms at this buzzing, minimalist restaurant that, unsurprisingly, features plenty of freshly caught seafood. Choose from the fish-based tasting menu or a vegetarian version, both offered in either 4 or 6 courses. The chef prepares modern dishes with all the typical Danish hallmarks, including preservation techniques and a lightness of touch." - Michelin Inspector

A great experience! Do you love seafood and shellfish? Visit this place! Great food and staff, wonderful service, good wine pairings and beautifully presented food 👌🏼

Of the two similarly priced restaurants we tried in Copenhagen, this one was our clear favorite. While it doesn’t offer much in terms of views—tucked away in a basement on a quiet side street—the focus here is firmly on the food, and rightfully so. Sauces take center stage, with nearly every dish finished tableside with a pour from a saucepan. Each course was excellent, but the standout highlights were the rich crab bisque and the inventive three-ways-with-rhubarb dessert. Our total came to around £250, which covered the six-course tasting menu, two glasses of wine, and a cocktail.

Great restaurant without superb good and a friendly staff. Food is at the pricy end, but it is what can be expected for the location. However, the atmosphere and the location is in my opinion lacking a bit compared to other top-end Copenhagen restaurants.

Food was over seasoned and the salt seemed to overpower all the dishes except the onion pie which was lovely. The bread and butter was really good. Got us excited but we were disappointed with the overall seasoning of the dishes. They did offer to cook the dishes again with less salt but we declined the offer as we have a schedule for our trip.

Love love loved the place! I just went for my birthday and it is definitely one of my favorite restaurant in Copenhagen! We like to try out different high end Michelin restaurants, and honestly, I often leaving foods as I feel some of servings are too salty, where I don’t finish all the food. However, all the servings here were just perfectly seasoned, and served with delicate and cute plating! It is definitely on a costy restaurant, but definitely worth it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A group of us went to The Pescatarian and it was an amazing eating experience! We had the snacks and then the Fast Four and every dish was a revelation. The staff were very patient with us and we can't thank them highly enough!

The food was terrible except the bread. The main dish was ok. Aside from the bread and main dish, all the other dishes were so overly salty and over-seasoned. The service was also disappointing, as shown in the first picture. A server splattered some purée on the plate and just left it. I truly regretted that we had dinner there.

Had a lovely dinner. The food was beautiful and so delicious! I got the four course tasting menu with the non-alcoholic juice pairing, ans after a weekend of over-doing it in Copenhagen, I couldn't be happier that they have this option for a Chef's menu. The juices were so tasty and paired so well with the food. The portions were just the right amount for me to feel full but not stuffed. This is a great option for anyone that wants a fancy night out, I also appreciate that they are open on Sundays!

Yelp
When in Copenhagen you will find many Michelin stars and most will feature a vast tasting menu which must be followed strictly. And you should expect 2-3 hours for the experience. Pescatarian is more what I like. They have what they call the fast 4. Four courses that hit all the key points and can be done with wine pairing to the courses or not. Delicious. Main dish was flounder and it was superb--as was the onion tart and the Langoustine carpaccio with teenie tiny tomatoes. The dessert was a pretty as it was tasty. You can make this as big or as small as you wish. We started with the fried Normandy Oysters and selected wines by the glass as our way of choice. This is a great spot with beautiful walking areas nearby. Very close to the water. The walk to the restaurant brings you near many amazing buildings.

Yelp
During our last day in Copenhagen we at lunch at the Pescatarian sister restaurant. A patron highly recommended that we have dinner there so we decided to give it a try. The maitre de got us a 7:00 reservation. We opted for the six course dinner with wine pairings. Every course was outstanding, and the wait staff explained everything we were about to eat. Our only complaint was some of the wine selections were underwhelming. Otherwise it was a wonderful experience.

Yelp
Dining at The Pescatarian was an unforgettable experience. The service was attentive and made sure every detail was perfect. We started with 6 oysters prepared differently - excellent. Then ordered the chefs choice with 6 courses. Each was a masterpiece. So fresh, flavorful, and carefully prepared. The bread alone was enough to make me fall in love. I joked with the staff how amazing one of the sauces was, and she brought me extra. It's clear that the staff take pride in their work and enjoyed each other's company, making the experience all the more enjoyable. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We both had the 4 course tasting menu which was outstanding. From first to last the only disappointment was that each course had to end. The onion tart while not fish based was excellent as well. While I am a chocolate lover, the non-chocolate dessert was equally memorable. Pacing and service were just right.

Yelp
What a most memorable and enjoyable evening have a very fine dinner with superb service!!! We had been in Denmark for seven weeks and we had not enjoyed as much seafood as we liked. There were several reasons we selected this restaurant as our final dinner on Denmark. Seafood. Almost exclusively. Great reviews from both social media and our hotel concierge. And lastly, the restaurants willingness and flexibility to tailor the menu for both of us, so we wouldn't need to have identical tasting menu. Mikkel, one of the three owners was taking care of us all night through. He was most charming and patient discussing the menu and offering variations to accommodate my wife's dietary restrictions. We both ended up opting for the "Full Experience Course" menu, which was a minimum of eight courses, and the requisite "snacks" that every fine restaurant provides. One of the amazing things the restaurant offers is that they'll open any bottle of wine under 1000DKK/bottle with a two glass minimum. Very accommodating!! Needless to say, each dish we consumed was absolutely delicious. We were treated like Kings and Queens all night. On my return to Copenhagen, I shall relish dining here again!!!

Yelp
Great fixed menu option. Wonderful seafood of course but the vegetables and wine pairings were amazing

Yelp
Friendly and inviting atmosphere with inventive and well prepared tasty dishes.. Wine selection nicely accompanied the dishes. Superb quality and value for an enjoyable dining experience. Don't miss it.

Yelp
The new place of Marv & Ben and one of the hottest tickets in town. Truly elevated fish cuisine, with lovely staff (Johann) and sommelier who knows his stuff. In fact, the challenge with delicate food such as fish, is to pair a proper wine that is there but does not take over, and that when the buttery or acidic sauces come in play, and this is what is accomplished here, the wine is in the background, supporting the food, which is a danish modern approach to fish, innovative and at Star level. The staff accommodated us after wandering around, with our little 9 month old, that even scored the private tour of the kitchen. Yes, Copenhagen has a lot to offer at the cutting edge and this one is another must for the foodie!
