"Housed in the crazy architectural folly of a former pharmacy that contrasts with the kitchen’s dead-serious approach to the art of take-out food. Salads are thoughtfully sourced and seasonal, sandwiches are constructed with the same care given soufflés, and there are one-serving jars of lemon meringue pie in the cold case, like poems you can eat with a spoon." - Gretchen Giles

Eight bucks for a latte is kinda crazy considering there are other excellent, reasonably priced cafes in the area with similar aesthetic attractiveness. It would be nice if they had a proper menu display with drinks included. The person who helped me was curt and not kind, made me feel like my needing help was bothering them. The employee seemed irritated that I wasn't aware they only had one size drink, however there was no drink menu displayed, and no way for me to know what was available. The prices at this place feel extravagant for the product. I'd rather go somewhere else, for sure.

Google
It’s a good thing they don’t have couches or a lounge area because I would never leave. The GF options are amazing, the coffee is on point, and everything is fresh, tasty, and unique. Highly recommended for a chill breakfast or lunch stop for a couple people.

Google
A foodies heaven. Farm fresh at it's best. The Kale & Roast beef sandwhich was the best I've ever had. The Kale and mushroom toast with egg on top was to die for. I have not been a fan of organic coffees but the local Bella Rosa coffee served here is smooth with no bitter after taste...just delicious. Everything here is delish and will put a smile on your face!

Google
Avocado beet toast is the best I’ve had. A couple things that don’t set well with me tho. No bathroom and their tag line The Pharmacy slogan or tag line is " Food is our Medicine". I see bacon on the menu. And even dairy. But back to the bacon. The World Health Organization has classified processed meats including ham, bacon, salami and frankfurts as a Group 1 carcinogen (known to cause cancer) which means that there's strong evidence that processed meats cause cancer. Eating processed meat increases your risk of bowel and stomach cancer.

Google
Very good service. I could feel the level of care put into each ingredient of my food. I got a lunch special, an open faced chicken curry sandwich on focaccia bread topped with arugula. I also loved the iced vanilla latte, the house-made syrup is so good! It wasn't too sweet, just a hint of vanilla and sweetness.

I have been driving by this place for months, and never had the time to check it out. I'm glad I did. It's lovely inside, and there's nice healthy food and a really welcoming environment. I'm allergic to milk, and they make their own almond milk, so I was able to have my own hot chocolate, yes! there's also a floral shop right outside, if you want to pick up some flowers or plants.

Google
I was sent here by a friend for the first time. It’s wholesome and delicious!!! Had the turkey sandwich on fresh whole grain sourdough bread with avo and pea shoots and spicy aoli! YUMMMM. Outdoor seating. Gorgeous day. Highly recommend!

Google
Food was good, but wildly overpriced. The latte was good, too, but no different than what I make at home. Also, the employee didn't even acknowledge us until I said good morning.

Rachel L.

Yelp
This is a great breakfast spot. Every item seems carefully crafted and using all fresh ingredients, the espresso is also delicious. The atmosphere is cute, plants everywhere - and the owner is very nice. The egg salad toast and avo toast are my fav!

Trina B.

Yelp
I love it here! I'll start by saying YES! I recommend this place!!! I usually get the avocado toast and I'm simply say chef's kiss to that! It's so refreshing and delicious. I recently tried the turkey sandwich, it was good, but I'm going to stick to my avocado toast. What I love is everything is made fresh and they make their own bread! Need I say more?

Eric L.

Yelp
The thinly-sliced roast beef (with kale and almonds) is divine - if a little skimpy on the meat. Some reviewers complained that the meat is slightly under-cooked - but that's the point. It's great, if a little pricy. The farm-to-table ethos, the slow-preparation, there's a lot to rave about. But (as someone mentioned earlier) customers appear to be an afterthought. There's no seating indoors and no menu on the website, but the food is excellent.

Mina G.

Yelp
This restaurant is a block from where I work, it's great for breakfast and lunch they close early @ 3:30, they make the best avocado toast and they do several versions of the toast with chicken and eggs not to mention several sandwiches the roast beef is crazy good! Everything here is leveled up not your normal sandwiches they are more gourmet sandwiches and I have tried several types of sandwiches and I liked all of them and I'll switch around and everything is delicious and presented beautifully, always worth a good Yelp post! They are a bit pricy but I think they're totally worth it! Wish they would stay open till at least 4:00 so I can bring it home for quick dinner! You won't be disappointed fresh and delicious. Cheers ALL SYOY

Yelp
Look at this sandwich. Look. At. this. Sandwich! One of the best I've ever had. The menu isn't that big who cares when you make practically everything in house anyway?! That's right, they made this bread in house and it sparked my love for making bread again. That's how good it was. You want something fresh, filling, and hearty to make you feel good about yourself? Eat here.

Gabby L.

Yelp
Literally had to walk out and think of the experience I just had at this place. I nicely asked the lady behind the register if she had a coffee menu and she rudely replied with we don't have a menu but we make any coffee drinks In a stern and fast tone... it's like she doesn't like people or something because there seems to be reviews just like this about the same person. Not going back

D U.

Yelp
This place is the most overpriced and overrated coffee place ever. They don't have their coffee menu up and my bill for two mochas was $18.50! I wish I could say the coffees were worth it but they were extremely watered down, didn't taste like chocolate at all, and didn't even have whipped cream on them. I would never go back here and their prices should honestly be illegal! save your money, spend it at another local establishment !

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Love The Pharmacy. Perfect lunch spot. Cool vibes & delicious food + drink in Santa Rosa

Jason H.

Yelp
I was a little hesitant to try The Pharmacy when I saw the menu prices, but we gave it a try and were pleasantly surprised. The sandwiches were fantastic and way bigger than I expected. The combinations they had were spot on and I loved every bit of them. It's counter service and the staff is friendly. But it's not a quick stop. If you expect to run in and out in 10 minutes, it's not going to be the case. But good things come to those who wait, and THIS is one of those cases. There is limited seating inside and picnic tables outside you can sit at. Looking forward to next time and trying different things on the menu.

Christine M.

Yelp
This place is ADORABLE! We were staying in an airbnb close by and kept driving past it throughout the duration of our stay. We weren't sure what it was but it looks so fun from the outside. We finally made it in, shared an egg sandwich and each had a cold brew. The inside is decorated perfect for the season. In this case it was fall. They had pastries and were shredded whole chicken in the back while we were there. It smelled amazing. If I lived in the area I'd be a frequent if not daily visitor. So good!

Candie G.

Yelp
I have eaten at this cafe/sandwich shop more than a handful of times.....I am always waiting for a different outcome from the Front Cashier Person.......The Food is Good but the attitude of the woman up front kills the flavor..........The experience is less than desirable and I eat all over and only write Wonderful Reviews.....However I am compelled to write about the Horrendous Customer Service That this establishment continues to push forward.....i know it is hard to find people to work but come on this is a toxic situation...... I write review with a very heavy Heart because I will no long be part of Toxic Energy.......‍

Bailey S.

Yelp
Yummy!! So out of my way but a HUGE treat when I'm in this part of town. Seating is a little weird during the winter, but the food quality outweighs any apprehensions. Great customer service! Make sure to look up their hours and enjoy!!

Hana P.

Yelp
I haven't been back since my last bad experience. The lady I'm guessing owner... unfriendly seems like she hates people. About 3 years ago I had that bad experience. Came back today. Not so blatantly rude but never made eye contact very no pleasantries still seemed like she wished I wasn't there. Charged me for a cup of water. It's like come on you charge 20$ for a sandwich you can't offer your customers a free cup of water? The lady making the food was great tho! She was super helpful and pleasant so that's why they get a second star.

Michelle C.

Yelp
Never disappoints. Yes, pricy, but good food. Locally sourced when possible and GF accommodating.

Carolyn S.

Yelp
First, the food: I got the roast beef with kale spicy and I normally take pictures but I ate it before I could get that chance. The ingredients are fresh, locally sourced and great quality. I also go a mocha with oat milk which was really smooth and non acidic, will definitely get it again. The service was friendly, not sure why others experienced otherwise unless they themselves were just hungry and impatient ‍. I was there on a Tuesday around 11/1115am. There was no line when we got there but it quickly started filling up after we ordered. There were only two employees so I feel a little compassion and empathy will take you further than being upset that they're human and not able to move faster or do more than they can. A little realism goes far. My experience was great. The ambiance is pleasing, I enjoyed sitting at the window bar area and being able to people watch. I removed one star for the prices. I understand that we are paying for the quality, and the quality was amazing! $18 bucks for a roast-beef sandwich is pricy

Mongo A.

Yelp
There is no earthly reason that a small kitchen staffed with four adults should take 20+ minutes to make two sandwiches. It wasn't even busy. During the time we waited another customer finally got tired of waiting and asked for a refund. There was a lot of talking going on in the kitchen, but not much actual work. The whole vibe of the place is rather off-putting, as well. A strong sense of "You should feel lucky to be eating here" wafts through the air the moment you walk through the door. Staff is haughty and seemed annoyed that we had the temerity to bother them by ordering anything. But, to be fair, the chicken curry and roast beef sandwiches we eventually got were absolutely delicious. They weren't delicious enough that we'll ever go back, though. Plenty of other places that have prompt service and are happy to take my money to go to instead.

Kevin G.

Yelp
My second time back to this amazing lunch spot. The place seems to be run by women who take their job seriously .. and make some of the best sandwiches ever!!

Rebecca S.

Yelp
The yummy food pictures on their website lured me in... One of my girlfriends kept hectoring me, saying she went there religiously a couple of years back and "it was really good." She repeated that their menu was "all organic" which honestly wasn't a big draw. The photos of the food, though. The outside of the establishment was intriguing. The inside was dusty. The antique cases were fairly empty. I have the impression of a lot of driftwood and macrame "decor." The limited menu was on a chalkboard propped up on the floor. Drinks were bottled or in cans ranging from fizzy water to Yerba Matte. The place wasn't busy. The woman behind the counter was definitely NOT suited for customer service work. She was short with my friend and me and acted like being there was a pain in the butt. (She may have been having a rotten day?) I ordered the BLT with "everything". The menu indicated that "everything" was the addition of avocado and mozzarella. It was $23. (I know: gasp!) This was the only thing I ordered and it was ENORMOUS. I ate half of it and gave the rest away with a warning. The brown "organic" bread was dry and cut up my mouth. The avocado was actually gooey guacamole and there was a ton of bacon, which overwhelmed. My friend said her bread was also dry and "gummy." The whole experience was cold and odd. There was such a dissonance between the gorgeous pics online; the icy service; and the actual food. Neither of us will be back.

Jeff H.

Yelp
Only been there once, this review is for the egg salad sandwich. Just a great, great egg salad sandwich, albeit an open face version. The bread, sprouts and egg salad all work so well together. Bravo.

The P.

Yelp
The food and drinks are great here, but unfortunately everything is very pricey. Paid $20 for a sandwich and $7.5 for a latte. Wouldn't come back due to the prices

Chelsea S.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for awhile and finally had the chance. As i walked in, I noticed there was no menu showing food or available drinks. A woman told me the menu is on two boards that are right near the front door.. I didn't really notice them at first. I chose a sandwich and drink. The service I received wasn't very good. Just felt very rushed. $21 later for a sandwich and some green tea drink. The sandwich was pretty good, not the most amazing sandwich I've ever had but it was good. I can tell they use fresh ingredients. Now was it $20 worth, no. I think this place is more for people who work around the area. Just a quick grab and go lunch. I don't think I'd be trying again. There are better and cheaper places around.

Shantilly K.

Yelp
Not really comfortable with how raw the meat was on my sandwich today. I don't remember it being like this and when I called to ask if it was cured they said no that is how the owner likes us to serve it. I ate the brownest spots and most of the bread because I was starving and just paid $20 for a sandwich but I don't think this is ok. I took it to go otherwise would have had it fixed or changed there. Maybe not order the roast beef.

Sierra P.

Yelp
It was too expensive, but I was starving! I added my own sauce at home cause it came with none. Thought the meat quality was good overall but super underwhelming.

Jerry S.

Yelp
4 months later, I had another opportunity to visit this vendor. The sign by the front door says Open hours between 7 -3, M-F. I opened the front door and walked in at 7:45AM. "Sorry Sir, we don't open until 8"! I said: "but your sign say you open at 7AM!?" Reply: "Yeah that's pre-Covid hours. We're open fro 8-1:30" (pre Covid was 3+ year ago). I rolled my eyes and left. Wow! Very unfortunate indeed.

Genie O.

Yelp
Oh my goodness. Was first thinking that even if the food is great it's only a 4 star b/c of the current arrangements. But all that will change as they open fully again soon. And my Turkey pesto chili avocado sandwich was so beautiful and delicious that I have to rate this a 5. Everything people have said - farm to table, no shortcuts, thick slice of seeded toasted bread I've never seen before, pea shoots and so wonderful. Orders taken at the door so I couldn't look in. Darn I missed breakfast at 11! Only a picnic table in the sun or a wall to put my computer on to do some work (and now this review). Not the atmosphere I was hoping for but I'm making it do especially for this food. I can't wait to get inside, see how cute it is and take in the whole atmosphere. Sandwich was $14 - unique, hearty and worth every bite. I picked a bit of mint outside and put it in my tea. Totally happy girl. It's hard to be kind to everyone especially if they're being annoyed from the start and you're committed to serving people well. New patio is being built which should be a great addition. Rock on! This kind of food IS medicine!

G T.

Yelp
The woman who helped us there this morning was cold and perfunctory. We really thought that she was trying to discourage us from coming back. Well... it worked.

Cash B.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! Friendly staff and chill atmosphere. Perfect place to grab a quick bite on your lunch break. I'll definitely be back.

Lolita M.

Yelp
Came to quest diagnostics for husbands blood work Saw this place stopped by ask where is it because it's hiding in the back young girl guided me and was nice dropped husband had to use restroom was cold Friday morning this coffee please is huge fits 50 people Rude women said no restrooms they make drinks ! no restroom Will never stopped there and by the way no where around that plaza you will find restroom RUDE STAFF

Leah S.

Yelp
I'm remembering back a few days to when we went here, and the thing I remember most vividly is the lemon meringue dessert we had. Picture this : the passionately birthed love-child of a lemon pots de crème and the most pillowy, chewy marshmallow you've ever had the pleasure of encountering. Divine! Ok, I digress, we did have other things to eat here other than the lemon dessert, but that my friends, is why I'll be returning. We did have other things...I ordered the chocolate mousse which was topped with a thick layer of complex chocolate ganache. It was good, but after having that lemon concoction, nothing really could compete. For our main dishes, I ordered the seasonal grain bowl, and he ordered the grass fed beef sando. I was a little bummed about my vegetarian options, because the meat items sounded so much more interesting and delicious, but the lady who took our order said the grain bowl was "the best thing on the menu" which I disagree with, but that's just me. The grain bowl was massive and a little odd, with roasted squash, brown rice, brussels sprouts, sprouts, seeds and more, but it didn't exactly go together, and I felt like some/most of the items needed more seasoning. I didn't enjoy it and I definitely don't think it was the best item on the menu by far. I wished it had some cheese, or perhaps some sauce that brought everything together, but the way it was ended up sort of bland and overall mediocre. His beef sando smelled really good. I love Calabrian chili oil, and his had that incorporated in a very impactful way. The sando had a kale salad IN IT which was packed with almonds, and honestly I would definitely would have rather had his sando/salad and just ordered no meat, than had what I ordered. He however, since he hasn't been eating much meat (I'm the chef at home) got a bit queasy after he ate that much softly cooked but still very pink/red meat. I love the location, but it can be tricky to get to especially on a busy day. The day we visited, there was massive work going on in the street, and we had to do some evasive maneuvers to try and get into the parking area. The lady who I think is the owner or manager, was quite short with us, and I never ended up getting a receipt or signed for my transaction which I thought was odd. Apparently this chilly reception is an ongoing quality here from other reviews I read. Overall we will return for the dessert, and to give them another shot on entrees, but I think they have some QA to improve especially in the challenging time of covid.

Alicia C.

Yelp
never knew this place existed until a friend enlightened me, now i cant stop going in! i love their motto "food is medicine" everything is local & organic & i swear you can taste it, so fresh & delish i get the turkey chili sandwich, but have tried other sandwiches, never disappointed. service is always friendly/ polite there's outside seating in a grassy area & indoor bar type seating next to huge windows which is super nice i call it in ahead of time & it's ready by the time i arrive, if you haven't given it a shot you definitely should 10/10

Ben C.

Yelp
Lets just start off by saying, EXPENSIVE!! $19.00 for a sandwich? Wow and for a small 8oz coffee, it was over $6.00. The sandwich was good, and the coffee was pretty bad. Sad when starbucks tastes better. I would love to come back for the sandwich, since it was good, but this will definitely be the last time I come back, because of the pricing. Other comparable mom and pop shops are a lot cheaper!

Cary R.

Yelp
I went here by accident thinking it was a different shop. Anyway, based off reviews I thought I'd try it anyway. Walked in and I didn't see a menu so I asked if there was one I could look at since I had never been. The woman was very rude when I had asked for a menu. She responded, "no" quite abruptly, so I responded, "ok thank you" and left. The location is very central and the envrionment seemed pleasant enough, but based off that interaction I probably won't try again. So dissapointing!

Brett H.

Yelp
Okay. Odd placement. Outdoor eating is on grass. Good place to maybe grab and go in a medical park.

Kristina R.

Yelp
*I'd give this a 4.5 if I could*. As sandwich shops go, it's a bit pricey. But since they are a small business and the quality of the food was really good, I'm going to give them a 5. My roast beef sandwich was $18. Kind of a lot, but it was very tender medium rare beef with a delicious kale salad on top. It's probably one of the best Roast Beef Sandwiches I've had in a long time. The gluten free bread they used was really good as well. By the way, it was a huge sandwich! I had one half there and the other half for an afternoon snack. My hubby got the Turkey Chile Pesto. His sandwich was also huge and he really liked it as well. He tried to finish it, but he couldn't! It was about $17 or $18 as well. So pricey, but you got a lot for your money. The quality of his sandwich was also really good. The service runs a little slow. We got there a bit before the lunch rush, and it was still on the slow side. So just know that you will need some time if you order. They do it all by hand, so it's not fast. The place is really cute, but it's mostly bar stool seating. There are a few benches. So all in all, I'd come back mostly for the quality of the food. It's hard to get quality for these days.

Uyen L.

Yelp
Nice small cafe in a medical offices setting. The sandwiches are delicious! We had the Turkey with Avocado, Chili & Pesto and also the Pea sprout Sandwich with chicken. The Lemon meringue was a hit! Tart and the meringue is thick!

Kylie W.

Yelp
I went here because I always drive by this place and think it's cute. But the espresso machine was broken. They had no way to make any coffee they said do I got a tea. It came out scolding hot. By the time it was cool enough to drink the cup was falling apart since it was so HOT. I got charged $4 for this scalding tea with just a bag in it. I also got a scone that was cold $6 and burnt. I won't be going back here again.

Jesse H.

Yelp
This place is awful the women that run this place are full of themselves and don't give one Crap about their customers. The food was terribly bland. I won't be back there.

Danielle M.

Yelp
Just left disappointed that I didn't get what was order. Haven't been in awhile and I am reminded again why I don't eat here.

Korva G.

Yelp
Roast beef and kale sandwich is true perfection. Seriously, and don't skip the spicy vinaigrette. It's my go to lunch that makes any day special! My wife's fav continues to be the curried chicken sandwich. You really can't go wrong with whatever you chose.

India M.

Yelp
First time in, no fresh juices or smoothies so went for the Chia Pudding. I am well aware of how expensive it is nowadays, but $10 for basic chia pudding with maybe 2 chopped strawberries...disappointing.

Molly K.

Yelp
Service is consistently impatient and frankly, rude! I always feel like I'm inconveniencing them by coming in and ordering food and drink. They have a good thing going food-wise, it's always very delicious, but because the service is so consistently put-out by customers coming in, asking questions, basically all that comes with ordering food, I won't be back. I've given it years but it hasn't improved. Walking up to the counter, paying a premium, and being treated like I'm in their way isn't exactly the experience I'm looking for in a cafe. The lack of bathroom puts the icing on the you're-not-welcome-here cake.

Sean T.

Yelp
This place is in the process of some construction work but they have not slacked on the quality of service or food. I had goat cheese and apricot jam toast and it was amazing. All the ingredients were fresh and piled high on the beautifully toasted bread. Topped with delightful edible flowers, this was amazing. Didn't expect something so delicate looking and tasty. And they service is top notch. Super friendly people, who are wearing masks. Love it.

Morgan W.

Yelp
I'm bummed because I have been coming here since they opened. I'm so sad to report that they have changed the roast beef kale recipe. It's not the same rich flavor it used to be. A few of my friends who come here also say that the things they have ordered are now sub par especially for the amount they charge for these items.

Nicole P.

Yelp
Ordered roast beef, turkey pesto and oatmilk latte. Roast beef was perfectly rare and the kale with it was very tasty (had the red wine option). Will be back, just wish they had weekend hours.

John P.

Yelp
Best Breakfast spot in town! Love going there with the family! Friendly service, prompt, clean, can't beat it!

John B.

Yelp
Inventive, delicious sandwiches that always surprise me. My long time favorite is the chicken curry sandwich.

Mary F.

Yelp
Fabulous food but no bathroom. This is an epic fail in my opinion. Sandwiches were among the best we've ever had but tab was over $50 for two paper wrapped sandwiches, two iced teas and a 20% gratuity ordered at the counter. Limited seating. One outside table, a few random outside chairs on the grass and only counter/stool type seating inside. Beautiful long table inside perfect for communal seating but covered in autumn foliage and branches so unavailable for customers. So much potential but so many negatives. I dunno even what to say other than I doubt if we would return.

Lu G.

Yelp
Looks good on the outside but creep factor on the inside. Everything looks good and mostly tastes good but the feel and customer service is off. There's no community connection feel, and the vibe is snobbish.

Kaitlynn Y.

Yelp
This place has the best and most fresh lunch options! The menu changes, so it can be hard to order an item if you are unaware of what they have. They can also change your sandwich into a salad! The tea is also refreshing and not sweet, just how I like it. Highly recommend.

Daisy O.

Yelp
This place is good BUT I will say the girls that are there in the morning (8am) are not friendly. Every single time I have stopped by before work they have me stand in front of register with no "hello" or "I'll be with you in just a minute" and i've waited for about 4-5 minutes I've gone 4 times and EVERY SINGLE TIME they manage to do the same thing. its rude and makes me uncomfortable to even go back. Went again today for the 5th time after weeks of avoiding this place and AGAIN which is why I'm writing this now because no one should feel this uncomfortable to go to a coffee shop. Anyways- again this place is good but i just wont be coming back anymore. BE KIND TO EVERYONE!
