Fresh off the plane and looking for a bite, we spotted The Pickled Onion right along the waterfront and couldn’t resist the view—turquoise water in full panorama. A table on the patio was ready immediately, so we settled in and let the island vibe kick off our trip.
I ordered the classic Bermudian fish sandwich, and it was outstanding. The bread was pillowy-soft, the fish perfectly flaky, and the whole sandwich held together without getting soggy. It came with a generous side of fries dusted in a punchy Cajun seasoning—so good I ate every last one. A cold Coke rounded everything out.
Service made the meal even better. The hostess greeted us with genuine warmth, chatted about cycling in Bermuda’s heat, and offered tips on sights worth pedaling to. Her friendliness set the tone for the rest of our stay.
Great view, zero wait, excellent food, and welcoming staff—The Pickled Onion is an easy recommendation, whether you’ve just landed or you’re a local looking for a reliable spot by the water. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m on the island.
