16 Best Bars in Bermuda, From Front Street Dives to Waterfront Local Breweries | Condé Nast Traveler

"If you walk into The Pickled Onion before 10 p.m., you're likely to see it set for dinner. But once the kitchen closes, most of the tables and chairs are removed to uncover a wooden dance floor that fills to the wee hours. This is one of the few late-night spots in the City of Hamilton that hosts live entertainment most nights (karaoke Thursdays, DJ Rusty G, who spins reggae and soca on Friday and Saturday, and country Sundays with guitarist Jen Marsh). Belly up to the sleek bar to enjoy the music up-close, or grab a quiet seat on the open-air balcony, which has views of Hamilton Harbour. Beer geeks rejoice: This is one of the few bars in Bermuda where you can get pints of locally brewed beer from the Dockyard Brewing Company. The draft beer selection changes with the season; in summer, try the Whale of Wheat, a traditional German hefeweizen served with a lemon wedge." - David LaHuta

The service here is genuinely good, staff are attentive, friendly, and make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. That said, the food itself was just okay. While the menu offers plenty of choices, including a good number of vegetarian options, the portions are surprisingly small for the price. It felt expensive for what you actually get on the plate. On the positive side, the variety is impressive, so there’s something for everyone, and the atmosphere is pleasant enough to enjoy a meal. But if you’re looking for generous servings or great value, this might not be the place.

We chose to go here for our anniversary dinner. The superfood salad was bursting with flavor! We ate at various places and this meal was not only the healthiest I ate but the tastiest. I even attempted to make it at home. The avocado bites were delicious! The drinks were okay we had panties drink and a blue one eh. The cheesecake was eh. The view is fabulous up top at sunset. Update - I loved the Superfood Salad so much I made it at home but couldn’t nail the dressing recipe down - the staff were so nice to email it to me. I love this place even more. So glad we went here for our anniversary dinner!

**🍴 OBSESSED with The Pickled Onion! 🔥** Just discovered this absolute GEM and I’m already planning my next visit! The avocado rolls were creamy perfection and don’t even get me started on their chicken parm - crispy, cheesy heaven! 😍 But seriously, this place has EVERYTHING: — Stunning waterfront views that had me taking photos all night — The coziest atmosphere (perfect date night vibes!) — Staff that treated us like family — Food that’s worth every single penny Pro tip: Get there before sunset for the most Instagram-worthy shots! 📸

It is always one of my favourite pubs in Bermuda. The last visit was in 2015! Convenience location on Front Street, good harbour view and enjoy the beautiful scenery with a beer. Bermuda fish chowder is a must try.

Passing through on a cruise and found the Pickled Onion for lunch in Hamilton. Service staff was top notch. Fish and chips were crunchy outside and moist inside. Fries were good too.

Fresh off the plane and looking for a bite, we spotted The Pickled Onion right along the waterfront and couldn’t resist the view—turquoise water in full panorama. A table on the patio was ready immediately, so we settled in and let the island vibe kick off our trip. I ordered the classic Bermudian fish sandwich, and it was outstanding. The bread was pillowy-soft, the fish perfectly flaky, and the whole sandwich held together without getting soggy. It came with a generous side of fries dusted in a punchy Cajun seasoning—so good I ate every last one. A cold Coke rounded everything out. Service made the meal even better. The hostess greeted us with genuine warmth, chatted about cycling in Bermuda’s heat, and offered tips on sights worth pedaling to. Her friendliness set the tone for the rest of our stay. Great view, zero wait, excellent food, and welcoming staff—The Pickled Onion is an easy recommendation, whether you’ve just landed or you’re a local looking for a reliable spot by the water. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m on the island.

Travellers this is a wonderful restaurant overlooking the harbor in downtown Hamilton. The food is delicious and the drinks were terrific and the atmosphere is friendly and festive. Everything was tasty especially the fried cauliflower and calamari. The seafood was also wonderful but the real show stopper was the filet mignon dinner which was outstanding and we completely recommend. The rock fish was delicious too. We had a wonderful time here so check it out.
