"If you walk into The Pickled Onion before 10 p.m., you're likely to see it set for dinner. But once the kitchen closes, most of the tables and chairs are removed to uncover a wooden dance floor that fills to the wee hours. This is one of the few late-night spots in the City of Hamilton that hosts live entertainment most nights (karaoke Thursdays, DJ Rusty G, who spins reggae and soca on Friday and Saturday, and country Sundays with guitarist Jen Marsh). Belly up to the sleek bar to enjoy the music up-close, or grab a quiet seat on the open-air balcony, which has views of Hamilton Harbour. Beer geeks rejoice: This is one of the few bars in Bermuda where you can get pints of locally brewed beer from the Dockyard Brewing Company. The draft beer selection changes with the season; in summer, try the Whale of Wheat, a traditional German hefeweizen served with a lemon wedge." - David LaHuta
