The Pickled Onion Restaurant & Bar

Stopped by The Pickled Onion in Lafayette Village and had a great experience. I ordered the hearty beef chili, and it was very good — flavorful, filling, and exactly what you want from a comfort dish. The interior was clean and well kept, with plenty of TVs visible from just about any seat, which makes it a great spot to watch a game. I also liked that there are two entrances, which made coming and going easy. Solid food, good setup, and a comfortable atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back.

Really nice dinner here on a Sat night over Labor Day weekend. The restaurant is very spacious and they have TVs everywhere, including one at each booth. Would be a great place to come watch the big game or NFL on Sundays. Our server was a little cold at first, but she warmed up and gave us great service. She admitted it was a long day and probably had some rough customers. Pretzel bites and beer cheese were delicious! So was our quarter wedge salad, wings and bourbon chicken. My 9 year old enjoyed the tenders and fries. We will be back to try more menu items. My only complaint is that its not an easy place to walk to from the parking lot. My 81 year old MIL had a difficult time maneuvering through all the tables and chairs and people out front to get to the restaurant.

Been to one of the other locations, was in the area si gave the new location a shot. Very nice inside. Vwey big spacious area. TVs for sports and other events. Nice menu options to choose from. Evwrything we tried was great. No issues at all. Very friendly and attentive staff. Full bar and some drafts on tap. Very good experience!

Places jamming and they have food all night until 2:00 a.m. unlike some of the other places around wake forest. Bartenders are nice They have really good food It's kind of cozy I really like it a lot. The appetizers came out within minutes and both bartenders are very welcoming. We will definitely be coming back. Thanks

We ordered To Go. Lemon Pepper Wings and cajun fries. Which were both amazing, hot and fresh. The food came out to us fast. I would highly recommend eating here. So delicious.

Wow! I liked it here! Javier was great—thoughtful and helpful as I asked questions, taking my order quickly and being sure it got delivered quickly, too. When I first arrived, I drove around Lafayette Village and saw the Pickled Onion patio with tables and chairs but figured the main door was on the other side, within the inner maze, and it was. I got my order to go and was so pleased when I opened the box! There were chips to go with the chili, and the peppers, onions, and sour cream were on the side for me to add however much I wanted (oooooo! Those jalapenos were a nice touch!). Very enjoyable—the whole experience! Thank you!

This place has a ton of TVs. We had the bacon and artichoke dip which was very good. Plenty of pita chips and dip for 2 of us. We also split the Bourbon Street chicken which was 2 whole breasts of chicken which were slightly tough but delicious flavor. The sweet potato fries were ok. The service was done by the whole team which was great.

My family and I dined in on Thursday night here. We've come here several times and we love it! Food is good, bartenders are super nice and sweet, great people, great everything. However, this visit was not that. The reason I say this is because they were clearly understaffed, as I understand that's not the workers faults, but a young girl who was mainly taking care of us, Shelby, super sweet by the way, was crazy busy, that girl was moving at top speed! What made this visit kind of distasteful was when, I assume, her manager yelled at her in front of everyone for a good 2 minutes. Cuss words flying and everything. That was straight up horrible...... That poor girl was working her butt off!!! That manager had no right. I hope Shelby had a blessed night afterwards as she deserved it!

My favorite sports bar in North Raleigh by a mile. The servers take real good care of you, and the food always comes out quick. This place is super clean unlike the Hibernian across the street. Best place to go watch college football or multiple games. Super easy to watch 3-4 games all at once with the arrangement of all the big screens they got. Highly recommend the brisket platter or the philly cheesesteak. The Mac n cheese is outstanding, if you don't want a whole meal you can get just a side order for only $4.

I don't know if it's just this location or bad night or what cuz I've been to other of their locations and haven't had a bad experience. Service here wasn't great. I don't know if it's just cuz it was a busy time or what but the place looked a mess. Food was okay The wings were not dry but they weren't flavored as advertised. We got some loaded fries The fries needed to get cooked more however. I guess this location is great to sit and watch sports cuz Its got plenty of TVs and they're very well placed but it's hard to hear anything except the TVs. We didn't sit outside but there's a lot of outdoor seating that looked like was popular with families cuz they were all sorts of kids running around

09/20/2025 at 12:55pm! Today's hostesses was very rude before we even entered the establishment. I was with a party of three and attempting to dine however when trying to enter the door, the hostess stated to me that I was in the way, and yelled for me to get out the way while also being rude She yelled "If you would get out the way I can help you". She then proceeded to be sarcastic when we left due to the poor service by stating "ok whatever bye then". DO NOT DINE HERE!

I've been a Pickled Onion fan for a long time. Five of us gals tried this new location (Lafayette Village where the Village Tavern used to be) earlier this month on a Tuesday night. We weren't sure what to do at first cause it said to seat ourselves but there appeared to be a Hostess. Turned out we were to pick a seat and she would follow with menus. We didn't see a spot for five of us in the main room, but there's a back room with larger party tables. This location has the same great menu as the others. I love that they all have grilled wings, and I let them know not to hold up everyone else's order cause the grilled ones take 30 minutes, but everything came out together later anyway. Food was good. I had one wing that was slightly under. But the rest were fine and I love that they will let you mix a couple sauces if you want. Service was a bit hit or miss but they were super crowded and had newly opened. We did have a fly that was driving us a bit crazy, but otherwise all good. This is a good addition to Lafayette Village.

This Pickled Onion location is open in the spot formerly occupied by The Village Tavern in Lafayette Village. My friend and I stopped in for drinks and appetizers and sat at the bar. We both ordered beers and split the philly cheesesteak eggrolls and ahi tuna. The food and beer selection were okay. My biggest complaint was the service, it started off good but slowly began to become non-existent.

I was a bit under whelmed by the portion size and taste of this Ropa Vieja bowl for $18.00. This is exactly how it came out before I took a bite. On a positive note, the booths are spacious and when I went it was seat yourself.

This is a new location for a local chain with great pub food, friendly service, and boatloads of TV's for any game you care to see. It's becoming my go-to place when I want to keep an eye on a number of football games and take my time with good food. Try the "Crack Fire" jalapeños if you don't mind a little spice. Unique appetizer. It would get 5 stars from me but for two things. One, it's a Pepsi shop, and I'm a Coke guy. Two, they charge you 3% to use a credit card, which is among my least favorite current trends.

Second time at this location as of writing this and 2/2 times the service has been horrible. First experience was just typical slow service(table visits from wait staff were at very distant intervals). Ended up waiting a while for our food and our check as a result. Second time we were sat quickly on a relatively busy night, and then waited. Took us 10-15 minutes of having no one come up to us to even ask about drinks before we finally left. Service here is horrible, would recommend one of the other locations instead.

SUPER GLAD to have the Pickled Onion back in N Raleigh!! All that it was but improved! The menu is varied with a $10 cocktail list that includes a yummy margarita. Had the Chicago Beef that was very close to the real deal, very good. Friend had ahi tuna tacos - looked fantastic. Will be back again and again {{*.*}}

Chrissy was great and checked on us throughout our large party. CJ the support staff was helping as well. Great new addition to this area.

The food is just not good, the service is weird because the bartenders are also the servers. Not very efficient. It's cool that they have a ton of tvs though probably good for a drink and a game.

Service was lacking. Food took forever to come out and when it did one of the meals was missing. Waited another 20 minutes for the last meal to come out. Food was just ok. Club sandwich had bacon bits instead of full bacon slices.

This is the third Pickled Onion that I have eaten at. It's located in Lafayette Village.It's very large and the food is very good. The only objection that I have is their back room. I was part of 30 people in that room and there's no insulation so the noise was terrible. It used to be The Village Grill and they had the same problem.

Kill the credit card fee, its BS, the place is freezing Loved my fish and chips, my wife had casa dia which was good but not real warm Great set up, nice bar, but next time ill wear a coat

I ordered a Black bean burger with sweet potato fries & onion rings. They both were burnt.
