Google
This is one of my go to when it comes to food trucks in Austin. I love that They have ample free parking. Right now they have seven trucks which are usually open at the same time. It’s pretty well lit and they play good music (old school). The only thing I would say is they need to work on updating the heaters and bathrooms. Although they’re locked, I feel like they need more care and the hot water doesn’t work. I tried 4 (Habibi, Tacos, Pete’s Cajun Seafood, and Coat & Thai) out of the 7 trucks and all of the food was delicious!

Google
Variety of foods and trucks. Prices do vary. Got a lobster roll.

Google
We ordered at the Thai restaurant, I don't like the point that a food truck place includes a place that sells stuff not suitable for children. I had a hard time explaining to my kids that those Gummies and stuff is not for kids. And those trucks don't carry food they advertise. So we ended up ordering Thai. The restrooms are locked. It just an weird experience.

Google
We have a deep seated love for food trucks so being in an area swarming with them was a dream. We had hoped to visit a handful of FT parks but ran out of time so The Picnic is the only one we made it to. BUT, it was such an awesome experience we have no remorse! We sampled food from 5 different trucks & every bite was heaven. Seating area covered & clean! Very reasonable pricing. Highly recommend!!!

Google
Enjoyed this food truck park so much that we came back the next day! Ample parking and lots of picnic tables (hence the name?) under a large awning. It’s open but you also won’t get rained on or have to sit in direct sun. Great variety among the trucks. We especially enjoyed Coat & Thai (try the Yellow Curry and/or the Pad Thai!). Habibi was also delicious. You really can’t go wrong with any of the options. There’s even a truck that sells dog treats so four-legged friends aren’t left out. This place has something for everyone and is a definite standout even in Austin’s crowded food truck park scene.

Google
I found a place to eat called the "Picnic" , it was a grouping of food trucks offering different kinds of food, they had really good burgers, Italian, Mexican, Sea F to name a few. after you purchased your food you could eat in a central area with many picknick tables. There were also public restrooms available. The athsonephere was fun.. It was great we loved it. There was plenty of free parking available and they even had a "lock gate". If your ever in Austin don't miss this one of a kind dining experience. If you like food trucks you will love this.!!

Google
Amazing place for lunch! Parking is a little tight. Please carpool! You can also walk or bike to this location. We had some shrimp from one truck(can’t remember the name) and then some lobster rolls from the burger truck. Love that this place is covered and there are bathrooms. Please also go check out the small boutiques off to the side. They look like trailers/ campers. Dogs are also welcome!

Google
So our first time coming to this park of food trucks and we weren't disappointed. My wife got food at The Original New Orleans Po Boy and Gumbo Shop and had the fish platter with a side of red beans and rice. The fish had great taste but the red beans and rice was unbelievable and put a smile on her face. Took that to the house with us. I had food from The Mighty Cone and I must say I was blown away by the chicken cone. The sauce was really good but the best part is the special breading they use. Crispy and delicious served hot with a nice kick. Can't wait to visit Austin again to come back to this little gem.

Yelp
Love this spot! We finally found authentic Thai food in Texas. They are not cutting corners to make it appeasing to the general masses. The food was great. I don't think food trucks should charge more than restaurants when purchasing. That's the only minor complaint I have.
google avatar

Mildred A.

Yelp
I got a burger from Black Bear Burgers. It was good. I was with a group of people and I like that everyone was able to pick the type of food they want. Love that there was plenty of parking and it was a great day to sit outside!

Yelp
Nice food truck park in the western part of Austin! They have about 6-10 food trucks in the lot ranging from burgers, to Thai, to tacos and even Venezuelan food. I ordered a veggie taco from Have a Taco and then got some arepas from Manejar the Venezuelan truck. Food was made to order, fresh and delicious! The lot gets crowded and it can be hot if you don't find a table under an awning but def put this place as a spot to visit!

Yelp
Atmosphere is really chill and neat. There were annoying flies but it's Texas heat so it's expected. Seating is covered with large covering and giant fan. Service from the trucks were good and as helpful as could be. So food review- Brazilian food truck, said it was featured on food network. I ordered the pork stew bowl that was also featured on food network. It had a good flavor but I wish I was given more meat. More than half the bowl was rice. Taco truck- the bbq queso was good, taco meat was good also. Gelato truck- the lady was very sweet! The gelato was okay, not the greatest.

Yelp
I like the overall concept of having multiple food trucks in the one place, but when we came to dine here, most of the trucks were closed even after we double checked the hours of the businesses. I'm not sure if it was a fluke, but we only found 1 truck open so that was our only option. At least it was a good food spot but would have liked to check out the other trucks in the picnic.
google avatar

Yelp
A Barton Springs favorite in Austin, you had us at food trucks. One of many food trucks parks/courts in Austin, there's usually about 7-10 food trucks here, some that rotate I think. Depends on the day and schedule (check their Instagram). Also dog friendly and you can bring your own alcohol as well. The trucks here have a variety of eats. We saw a cone truck, empanadas, tacos/burritos, pizza/pasta, Louisiana Cajun, Thai, and gelato as some options here. They also have classic rock and blues music blasting giving that chill Texas vibe when you're hanging here. Look forward to visiting here again. Bring your appetite of course!
google avatar

Yelp
Meh. You can get better burgers & brisket elsewhere in town...without looking too hard.
google avatar

Megan N.

Yelp
Really cool concept of a food truck park. Several different food trucks located here at a time with a variety of options and types of foods available. My family and I tried almost every food truck with at least one order from each truck. Food was okay, nothing outstanding. The park/area itself is a bit run down and could be better maintained for cleanliness. But they do strive to accommodate for dogs and dog-friendliness, which is a plus in my book. During the summer months, it does get pretty hot because seating is outside, though there is an awning. So be prepared.

Yelp
Uuuuuh the Picnic is not my spot! My daughter wanted tacos and ended up with a slim brisket quesadilla that was expensive but light on brisket. We were not sure what to eat, just wanted to see the selection! Hubby and I decided on fish taco and blackened po boy and gumbo! It was just okay as well. I didn't care for the selections in this food park!
google avatar

Yelp
A chill spot with a variety of food trucks. There were quite a bit of tables available, but I was there mid day during the week so maybe not as much traffic as the weekend. It was pet friendly :) I'll defines be coming back after I go paddle boarding and I'm starving

Yelp
Just happened to be scrolling through Instagram and saw the The Picnic food truck park. Decided today was a good day to check it out. There's about 7 or 8 different food trucks. Maybe more, I didn't really count. They're all in a circle formation and inside the circle are picnic tables. There's even a dog treat food truck. As Austin probably has more dog parks then kid parks. Dogs are very much accepted at most restaurants that have outdoor seating. This food truck park has a parking lot, bathrooms. You do need a key to use the bathroom, and you can get it from any of the food truck employees. I got a taco from one of the food trucks. Forgot the name. It was good. Nothing special. I'll probably try a different one next time
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty neat little food truck location that is dog and kid friendly. Ample parking in the back. Lots of seating in the general area, with very nice corrugated metal patios with big red fans. As for the food trucks it probably depends on how well they are doing. But it looks like a few of them are just parked here for months on end. Right now they have burgers, Thai, Italian, dog snacks, tacos, New Orleans style food, Mediterranean food and some crunch cuisine. Overall it's a cool place to check out if you are local or just stopping by for a visit.
google avatar

David W.

Yelp
If you can't make up your mind where, this is a good option. There are several food trucks, even one for your dog. I had some gumbo that was very good. Cool place to hang out and get some food.
google avatar

Tracey Z.

Yelp
Super cute food truck park - pretty much embodies all of Austin right here. The trucks are generally pretty busy around mealtimes so I would suggest ordering ahead if you don't want to wait. I wanted to get Thai food but the line was really long so I got from Cannone's instead. I got the #3 on the foccacia menu - it had grilled asparagus, grilled zucchini, tomatoes and cheese, which doesn't sound that appetizing but it was delicious! Perfect for any vegetarian!! I originally thought it would be just a sad sandwich but the foccacia was so flavorful and pairs perfectly with the vegetables. I would definitely get again.
google avatar

Tara C.

Yelp
The Italian food truck was not good... $9 chicken Panini sandwich cold. The $7 pizza was nothing special. The Thai place had good spring rolls $5 and chicken pad Thai $13. Would go back to that truck for Thai.

Yelp
The picnic is a neat spot to hang out and explore a few food trucks with friends in Austin, TX. I stopped by on a Friday night and ended up meeting another group of friends there -- anyone who's gone out on a Friday night knows it's next to impossible to find a last minute table for 10 at a restaurant, but it was really doable to find a table for our group while we were at The Picnic. It's never really empty until the trucks close down for the day, but usually you can time it so you can jump into a table as another group is leaving. The selection of food trucks is decent, but you'll probably notice one or two food trucks get most of the attention (we all went to Coat & Thai). The only real downside is that since everyone is left to bus their own table, you might end up at a relatively messy table, but this is mostly resolved by just grabbing an extra napkin or two to wipe down your area. Oh also! They have a great covered seating area with picnic tables, and have some exceptionaly powerful overhead fans in that area. This is awesome for staying cool in the Texas heat, but can get annoying if you're trying to eat/ make sure your hair is styled lol. Overall, I'd recommend checking out The Picnic! You should be able to find a good food truck option for most of your party and it's great that you'll likely be able to find a table to sit together!

Yelp
I asked our friends who've lived here for 7 years to get me the best food truck scene and by golly, they just about did it with this place! Loved the options of food as well as gelato. Very fast and delicious options. Bathroom right there and plenty of seating. There was also a couple of other trucks and trailers for gifts as well as meats and sauces. I didn't get a chance to delve too deeply in those other trucks but they looked very cool. Great location to get to other stops and places to eat. Definitely worth checking out among the several other food truck stops. Very notable for the flavor.
google avatar

Greg M.

Yelp
Sampled a red taco and quesadilla at Have A Taco, beignets at original New Orleans gumbo, and eh rolls and crab Rangoon at Coat and Thai. Everything was OK, not great
google avatar

Michelle N.

Yelp
Perfect place if your group has different tastes in mind for a lunch/snack break! There's plenty of parking in the neighboring lot, and tons of picnic tables in the middle of the hub. You can choose from Thai, Burgers, Tacos, Italian and more! I'm not sure if they switch out food trucks, but I did see a few photos for Acai Bowls - there wasn't a truck when we went, unfortunately since I was craving one! I wasn't too hungry so I ended up just getting some Spring Rolls and Egg Rolls from the Thai Truck. Spring Rolls (2pc - $4.00): Super fresh ingredients, which I wasn't expecting coming from a truck. Peanut Sauce is a bit more runny than I was used to, but was still delicious. Egg Rolls (4pc - $4.00): Also super delicious! Really crunchy exterior, and great veggie combo filling. I also had a bite of my sister's Pad Kee Mao and it was very flavorful. Also had a sip of the Thai Tea, but it was just OK - felt like it lacked some umph that I've had before at other Thai restaurants. Some items at food trucks were a bit overpriced, but it seemed like everyone enjoyed their food! Safe to say you'll find something you'll like, and it'll be tasty.

Yelp
It has several food trucks and a center seating/dining area, which was pretty nice at that location near the Zilker park. The tables were not clean but the food trucks were interesting to explore. I ordered the lobster roll, it's a bit pricey considering the really small portion size, I had the Austin flavor which came with chipotle sauce and the taste was good, except that I found a piece of lobster shell while eating. But overall I'm glad to try this place out.

Crystal C.

Yelp
Great brunch spot in Austin. I highly recommend ordering the Benedict. Every bit was so delicious and if you have a gluten allergy this is the place to come. Everything is gluten-free.
google avatar

Alice C.

Yelp
Really cute to have a little outdoor area with tables and food trucks. They also have actual bathrooms which is nice. This place is BYOB! The chicken cone is amazing and would come back for it. I do wish they had a few more truck options here to make it even livelier!
google avatar

Alabama R.

Yelp
Lovely aesthetic! We ordered the chicken quesadilla from HaT and the chicken cone from HnC. Quesadilla was "slamming" but we felt as though the portion size was not as filling as expected. The chicken cone, however, was quite the opposite story. Too much flavor, too filling, and a strange consistency in the chicken. Cant wait to come back to check out everything else this place has to offer.
google avatar

Gina L.

Yelp
Great concept but they could do a better job of cleanliness of the grounds. Portions were pretty small at every food truck we visited. This is "the spot" for people leaving Barton springs so it was very busy. We left still hungry.
google avatar

Cristina R.

Yelp
Such a cool spot! There's a good variety of food "trailers" and ample seating in the middle (both picnic tables and higher tables with stools). The umbrellas give it a fun, tiki-esque vibe. Food options include Thai, Brazilian, BBQ, and cupcakes. We went for the Venezuelan cuisine from Four Brothers. The arepas were divine, came out pretty quickly, and the staff super friendly! This is not your average trailer park. Really good lunch option in the area for when the weather is nice, and a great place to bring kids and dogs as well!
google avatar

Mia S.

Yelp
This place has tons of places to eat, so many choices to choose from! You won't be disappointed with the location, options of hospitality.
google avatar

Vivek D.

Yelp
One of the coolest food truck experiences I had in Austin. Right outside Zilker Park, I was approached by a plethora of different food trucks with a ton of picnic tables. The choices arise. I think I spent more than 10 minutes trying to figure out what to eat between the Italian, Venezuelan, & Thai trucks. I eventually settled for the Thai food truck, Coat & Thai. The food was pretty awesome. I ordered the tofu pad thai and I got a hearty portion of food. I needed it too after walking all around Austin and heading into the park. For $9, it's a great deal. I just loved the scenery more than anything. This is a must see & eat if you're in Austin.
google avatar

Lauren A.

Yelp
It's so much fun to come eat here and sit at the outdoor tables and walk around the park. We usually try a little here and a little there from the different food trucks we haven't been disappointed with any of them. All of them has been a treat.
google avatar

Heather M.

Yelp
A decent selection of food trucks, especially if you don't want to street park or pay to park. We had a group of 7 with us. Three got chicken in a cone and were a bit underwhelmed. Chicken was good but a bit tough and kinda weird to handle. I had a pretty good lobster roll albeit I got in Maine style and was maybe expecting a bit more seasoning and mayo. Still great though and excellent potato salad. Two other friends got pizza and a sandwich from the Italian food truck and they said their stuff was pretty good. This was the first meal we had in Austin and it was good, but I think we might have gone elsewhere if we hadn't planned this out ahead of time over some of the trucks we saw on our way. Not a bad spot though, and lots of table space.
google avatar

Rebecca B.

Yelp
Got here around 10:30am on a Saturday, and most of the trucks had already started serving food. Given how early it was, we had no problem finding a table in the shade. That said, the place really started to fill up about 40 minutes after we had arrived. If you're planning to take advantage of the free parking, come early in the day. I ordered from the Thai food truck, and my meal was cooked in under 10 minutes. For $10 I got chicken fried rice and a bottle of water. The food tasted good, and was very fresh. My boyfriend ordered from Dock & Roll, but wasn't so lucky. Despite ordering 10 minutes before me, he didn't get his food until at least 5 minutes after I got mine. By the time he did get his food, they had made the wrong thing. Very disappointing all around. This place is dog friendly! We had our dog with us and so did many other people. I felt that there was good variety amongst the trucks, and a ton of unique items to try. I'll definitely go back. Bathrooms onsite.
google avatar

Jake H.

Yelp
I'd give the picnic 5 stars if more of the food trucks were open and stocked. I've been a number of times but was disappointed this time because 3 trucks were open and Have a Taco didn't have queso! The Mighty Cone is always great. They are the reason The Picnic got 4 stars from me.
google avatar

Harish V.

Yelp
8-10 Variety Food Trucks with benches to sit and enjoy your food. If you enjoy outdoor eating then you"ll like this spot. Been there around 2pm and there quite lot of people as it is pretty close to Barton springs.People swim and then come to grab a bite. I tried the Pupas from " Four Brothers" and it was pretty good. We got Acai Bowl from another truck which was good. The Pasta and Fried Rice from different trucks which are not great. Moreover the chinese food truck took quite long time to serve our order. Pros: -------- Good Variety Options Close to Barton springs Parking available Next to zilker restaurant Cons: ------- Avoid the pasta truck and the Chinese fried rice truck
google avatar

Aaron G.

Yelp
Had the Mediterranean, not very good. Also tried the taco truck, meh. Bathrooms are advertised as having a/c but it wasn't on when I went (98F) Other people seemed happy with the Thai and pizza. Probably won't be back though to try additional trucks.
google avatar

Carlie C.

Yelp
Super fun food truck area with some retail trucks too! Hard to decide, but I ended up deciding on the Burger Truck and my boyfriend got Thai food! My lobster roll with chips & potato salad was $15 and the pad see ew my boyfriend got was only $9! I wanted to try the gelato too but maybe next time! I think all the food trucks tend to switch out every week, too. Cool place
google avatar

Maria M.

Yelp
A nice space to sit and eat and a good variety of cuisines however I was underwhelmed with the actual taste of some of the food. Tacos at Have a Taco were unseasoned and shells were stale. Guacamole was brown. Also things were on the expensive side. The pizza spot was okay. We got a 12' pizza for $10 but they would only give us 2 plates for the kids to eat the pizza. All in all I had high hopes for this spot but it just didn't work out.

Nicole O.

Yelp
Went to "have a taco" food truck. Not as authentic as I would like, but nonetheless great food! I don't like onions but the cilantro is mixed in with the onion, so I had to get neither. Usually have carne asada tacos but they didn't have it so I went with pastor and chicken. Super good!
google avatar

Janet D.

Yelp
I love this place! Although I went in the absolute worst time (noon, where the heat really gets to you) there were a lot of tables that were covered either by a tree or the giant roof canopy! There is a lot to choose from here. I went with the gumbo from the creole place and it was a very different gumbo from anything that I have ever had: it was watery but the broth was absolutely amazing! I also got these little fried cheese sticks from the brazilian place and the dipping sauce that they give you is utterly amazing. I highly recommend coming here with a portable fan or a large thermos filled with ice water because it can get seriously hot with all of the hot food you are surrounded by!
google avatar

Cindy A.

Yelp
The Picnic is a group of food trucks with covered seating in the middle. So there is a variety of choices to suit everyone's tastes. I tried a chicken cone from The Mighty Cone. The coating on the chicken was so flavorful! Their fries are also good. My husband has a Turkish wrap and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Eating outside under the fans was quite peaceful. For dessert we got a strawberry lemonade possible from Steel City Pops. Yummy!! This is s great place to try new things and enjoy time outside with family or friends.

Holly L.

Yelp
Great place to eat with many different food truck options. Lots to choose from. I ordered a veggie empanada and my husband order crab Rangoon. Great place for a snack when you're hangry!!
google avatar

Tatsiana N.

Yelp
We came on Saturday around 5pm and only a few trucks were open. My husband and I tried Po-boy sandwiches. I got one with the crawfish and he got one with the sausage. It was just Ok. I probably won't come back.
google avatar

Tiffany N.

Yelp
Pizza, thai, chicken, cupcakes, arepas......The Picnic has it all! My husband and I were looking for some yummy fare but also somewhere where we could take our beloved four legged friend and the Picnic was the perfect option. Even though off Barton Springs Road, they have ample parking plus its a legit area to walk around and explore. Picnic tables aplenty with tons of food options, I would be surprised if someone came here and didn't find anything to eat.
google avatar

Will T.

Yelp
Have been to the picnic a few times and it's always a great time with lots of options! My favorite is for sure the fish & shrimp platter at The Original New Orleans Po-boy food truck!! Also love the Thai truck!!
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
Trucks here: Turf n surf po boy (closed Monday's) Kebabalicious Chilantro The Mighty cone Hey Cupcake! Hey you gonna eat or what Daily juice
google avatar

Shella S.

Yelp
This place is great with so many food options. We ate at the Mighty Cone Food Truck and ordered the Chicken and Avocado mighty cone and the Pulled Pork mighty cone with Fries and Fried Pickles. All of it was delicious! There was also The Original Dog Treat Truck! I love this especially because I am a dog mom and want only the best for my fur babies. They use all organic and natural ingredients. My dogs loved the Woof Waffles and Breath Bones.
google avatar

Chidu K.

Yelp
Austin is well known for its food trucks and we chose "The Picnic" due to its close proximity to the Zilker park in the Barton Springs area. There a few different food trucks in this foodtruck court with semi-covered seating in the middle. There is ample parking in the back and a bunch of annoying pigeons to scavenge the food. The options are - Thai, Venezuelan, TexMex, Cajun/Greek, Italian, Fried American stuff, Acai bowl/smoothie and cupcakes. The Italian food truck was awesome - kids got different kinds of pasta and every one of them was phenomenal. Red sauce in the pasta was fresh and delicious. French fries from Mighty cone was awesome. I had the Acai Bowl and it was pretty decent. Have had better bowls in CA. Get there early if you want to have all your options open!
google avatar

Ajay V.

Yelp
If you come to Austin you must go to food trucks. Though I don't think picnic is your best option. It was a small crowded location and when we got there a few of the trucks were already closed. Another problem is that the food is incredibly expensive be prepared to pay 20 dollars to have a full stomach. Though the New Orleans food truck was spectacular. The gumbo and the cod were just amazing. Also I tried an interesting new thing called dirty rice which tasted very good. So if you were to go to Picnic go to the New Orleans food truck.
google avatar

Clara D.

Yelp
Kids friendly, great atmosphere, good food ! Very clean You have everything all types of good and also nice deserts
google avatar

Tessa B.

Yelp
Pros: - good food truck selection - close proximity to Barton Springs pool Cons: - garbage from Saturday evening was not cleared out Notes: - some of the food trucks only open at 12 on Sundays. check individual websites so as not to waste your precious time
google avatar

Rosa K.

Yelp
Very disappointed. There isn't much selection of food and it was pretty messy. We got burgers and shaved ice, which were both awful. The onion rings were the only redeeming option.
google avatar

Dawn H.

Yelp
Overall, pretty cool food truck court. Shhhh...don't tell anybody,. but I think I like this locale better than the old spot.:/ Tons of picnic tables, bathrooms, and PARKING is a breeze. Did I mention easy parking? Oh, yeah. Plus, all the carts (I'm pretty sure) take credit cards if you don't have cashola, some stay open pretty late, and there are enough choices in "The Picnic" to please any palate. I understand the advantage of food trucks and their mobility, but I wish more would take a more permanent residence at The Picnic (although 6 have been there frim the beginning). For example, it appears Ms P's Electric Cock has relocated...and I really wanted to try because of a.) the name (hoot hoot) and b.) REALLY wanted to sample some the Truffle Mac N Cheese [gosh dernit Keri B! - ;)]! Some of the current trucks are: Kebabalicious - must get the lamb kebab! Hey Cupcake! - meh. Tapa Bravas - really great tasting duck pate slider (no texture) and spicy hummus slider. Hey!...You Gonna Eat or What? - try the Monte Cristo. The Mighty Cone - haven't tried. Turf N' Surf - haven't tried. ...and a few others. So come hungry, bring some friends (all the better to buy some of everything and share with), be adventurous, bring booze, and be happy! Picnic on!
