Portland’s Most Unforgettable Cookies

"Best known for its mini pies, this bakery folds sugary cereals into its selection of Cereal Killer cookies. Fruity Pebbles and Cinnamon Toast Crunch impart a caramelized texture to wonderfully chewy cookies, while a chocolate chip cookie gets a texture level up with the addition of corn flakes. Classic chocolate chip cookies, plus a vegan and gluten-free version, are also available." - Kara Stokes, Janey Wong

Google
Finally had a chance to try the breakfast sandwich here, and it really is great! I like the use of the crumpet, but I think best of all is just the overall size and proportion of the sandwich- it’s easy to eat, not overloaded so it doesn’t collapse in your hand, and is flavorful all the way through. Think like the ultimately version of a McMuffin rather than the messy, disintegrating pile that many nice breakfast sandwiches tend to become. Great!

Google
Cool menu great flavors, fun little spot with other small restaurants next door as well. Would definitely come back again to try more items on the menu! We got the Marionberry pie and the Mushroom Gruyere Pie. Decent seating area compared to other “food truck spots”

Google
Absolutely delicious! Great little spot, took the kids and the dog. Great prices. We devoured the dessert pies so I didn't get a picture of those LOL. But the banana cream pie with salted caramel on top was amazing! My kids got the s'mores pies and love them! I love that instead of a slice of pie you get a small one serving pie all to yourself. There was seating outside and spaced out enough that it was comfortable. Nice atmosphere, definitely recommend.

Google
Decent coffee and yummy fun desserts. We tried the S'more pie and it was good. It was however also very messy, but I guess that's a S'more for ya. The coffee was not great but okay, but next time I'd go to Middle works.

Not a huge menu which is refreshing. But the flavor of their food and creative creations is a must try if Portland :) go for a snack or a full meal they are worth the trip :)

Google
Ok- it’s hard to go over the experience because it was that bad. But it’s important that everyone knows what happened before you go there. They charged my card over $300 which was way quadruple what I spent. They put half the food in my to go bag and refused to help me when I called to report half the food was missing. They kept saying, sorry I can’t find your order. I’ll take take some notes and call you back. Never asked me for my number. I called several times about the missing food, the quadruple charge and the food that I did get was hollow shells of pie. Looks like it had a couple crumbs but nothing filled it up. So bizarre. Then I called the next day hoping to speak with someone that cared about my experience she said well I don’t see any notes thank you goodbye. I called again and the lady was screaming at the top of her lungs and not even willing to let me speak. Then she said you just hang up and scream. Never did I do that. That’s what she was doing to a quadruple charged ex-customer. Never again. Unfriendly woman named Marnie should get some in depth education on customer experience, customer service, listening skills and maybe some anger classes. It was terrible! I’m still in shock about this. Hope everyone over there gets an experience like this so they know what this felt like. Pic of empty pie below. That’s what they looked like. Like someone ate the innerds out. 😆

Google
100% perfect spot for lunch. We liked everything we got, even my picky 9 year old (who doesn't like pie) enjoyed his breakfast sandwich. We were in town on vacation and I'm sad to go back to a town without a sweet and savory pie place! Fyi- Only outdoor dining available, and cards only- no cash.

Google
This is a unique little place (I’ve been to both Glisan St locations), serving delicious litte pies that really deliver big flavor! The cherrry, s’mores, and bourbon peach are my favorites. The staff is always friendly and the service is quick. Drop on by for a dessert on the go!

Yelp
Pie spot is great, but a little overpriced. We had the chicken pot pie ($12), a blueberry ginger pie ($5) and white chocolate tangerine mousse pie ($5). The $5 pies are just so tiny. At another good local pie shop, an entire slice of pie is $5. We found the crusts and the filling to be quite good. After eating at a Mexican place next door, we came here for a nice dessert.

Yelp
I'm usually not a pie person, and certainly if it is not served a la mode, but this place had the cutest little pies. I got a marionberry since this is what Portland/Oregon is known for. I took it back to eat in my hotel room and warmed it up in the microwave for a few seconds (only because warm pastries are the best!) and it was one of the best pies I had ever tasted. The crust was so buttery and not dry like other pies I have had before. I was eating it with a plastic fork and the fork did not break, this is how you know the crust was nice and buttery, and not too hard. The marionberry filling in the middle was just the right amount of sweet and complemented the buttery crust so well, that I ate it all! I would definitely return to this place if I visited Portland again, and would like to try some of their other flavors next time.

Yelp
Today is #ThankYouThursday in the Yelp community, a special day where folks can express their gratitude for their favorite businesses in the community. I'd just like to rave about Pie Spot, and say THANK YOU for always serving up such delicious food and amazing customer service. I told you this the other day in person, but I'll tell you again... your iced mocha is the best I've ever had! Seriously, it's pure magic! And it's consistently so... every single time I visit. I'll never buy coffee anywhere else. Thank you for being a bright spot in my community, Pie Spot.

Yelp
Unassuming corner spot in the middle of a food strip. We ordered the Brandy Apple Caramel and the Marionberry pie. Both pies were tasty and not overly sweet. Perfect for 2 people. Although I would recommend some improvements to make the pies tastier. Having the option to warm up the pie would make it a lot better. I don't know about you but I like my pies warm. Also there was no option to have "ala mode" or with whipped cream. That would have probably made the experience 5-star. Service was ok/mediocre. My companion thought it was pretty cool that they bag their own teas. The green tea was really floral. Overall I would say if you are craving pies, this might be a good option as long as you are not picky like me.

Yelp
Heard great things about the breakfast sandwiches and they didn't disappoint. I got mine worn sausage and really enjoyed it. Tasty, filling and easy to eat. I also got the butter pecan pie. I was disappointed with that. It was nothing special. For a place to be called the pie spot I didn't think the pies were that good. Would return again for the breakfast sandwiches.

Yelp
Their breakfast sandwich is a cut-above, English muffins are homemade which makes a huge difference. Also, the house sauce adds a great compliment while the veggie sausage was crisp and thin. Small suggestion: I know dark yellow cheddar is a local favorite, but I wish they would replace it with something more interesting. Some have lauded the coffee, yup, it's premium from Water Avenue. The gal tending the windows at 8:00 a.m. is nice. No cash. Lovin' this entire area.

Yelp
I used to think I did not like pie, but Pie Spot now has made me a fan. We ordered 150 PieSpots for an event. We just recently starting having events, but I think this is the most successful one to date. One neighborhood we offered the pies, they were gone in less than an hour. I emailed catering to set up the order. They were super responsive with every email I sent. We ordered: -Carmalized Carnberry Pear -Pumpkin -Bourbon Apple After smelling the pies for nearly an hour, I finaly had to try one myself. I tried the Carmalized Carnberry Pear. It was Epic. It was mosit and delicious, and I appreciated that they did not come in a wasterful pie tin. It was beautiful presented in a fancy crust with a heart on top. I had one person say that "pumpkin pie was his faviorite thing." He mentioned this pie was like none he had tasted before, and made moaning sounds while continued devouring the pie. I can't wait to go in person to see what other good trouble I can try.

Yelp
We had the chicken pot pies, corn flake cookie, the cinnamon toast cookie and the pecan pie! I recommend it all haha SO GOOD

Yelp
The pies r delicious, the servers r very kind and helpful and it has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.

Yelp
A cute and quant walk up window with mini pies on the side... so many delicious items to choose from but had to order the breakfast item! We ordered the breakfast sandwich, but do add-one or you'll just get an egg on the muffins... I didn't know the add-one were extra to put on the sandwich. I assumed it comes with all of that and you add extras if you want double So be sure to do that! The mini pies are also delicious so be sure to grab one. If you're worried about parking it's no problem as they have a lot and street parking available.

Yelp
Loved this tiny little spot for tasty tiny pies in Portland. We enjoyed a vegan Marionberry pie made with rice flour used in the crust and a Blueberry Ginger tiny pie. We loved both of them. So tasty!

Yelp
On a rainy, gloomy Sunday in Juneuary Pie Spot's breakfast sandwich was the basket of cozy delight that I didn't know I needed. One of the best things I've eaten all year, it's a simple egg and cheese sandwich executed perfectly. The English muffin base was pillowy and warm; it converted this English muffin hater to a lover (side note: no more grocery store EMs for this guy, no sir). The second key piece was the delicious tangy sauce. I added bacon which sent the whole thing to the moon. I was also pleased with the hearty portion size. Thanks for making my morning, Pie Spot!
google avatar

Natasha K.

Yelp
Stopped here for a breakfast sandwich and mocha. The breakfast sandwich was likely the best I have ever had! The English muffin was so soft and chewy and the sauce was bursting out of it. You won't feel classy eating it because the sauce gets everywhere but it's phenomenal. I had it with the sausage and the sausage was great too. Amazing flavors. Now the downside, the mocha was awful. I had a 1/2 caff mocha and I swear there was some sort of odd taste. I was there with two friends and had them try it too and they confirmed the taste. One of them got a regular mocha (full caffeinated) and theirs was delicious. So that's a mystery. But i 100% would come back again for a breakfast sandwich. I'm already contemplating going back today

Yelp
I am obsessed with this place, it's on the way to work for me - I call in when I am about 10 mins out, normally Drew(?) answers the phone and takes my order, they're so kind and it's always ready for pick up super quick. I often don't know what to order in my coffee as they have a ton of flavors so I will ask them to make me something good and it's ALWAYS good. I get the vegan sausage sandwich and it is *chefs kiss*. The cheese, the muffin, the sauce.. AMAZING. Also, I think it is very affordable which is soooo appreciated in these times. They wear masks inside and request patrons to wear them as well, this means a lot to me. I so look forward to the day I am too lazy to make breakfast at home, love this spot!

Yelp
OMG! I have been wanting to try this place for awhile and finally came out with my niece. We ordered their chicken pot pie and Gruyère mushroom pot pies. Crazy good!!! Placed a to go order for the seasonal Bourbon Peach and Cherry pies. Excellent. We also grabbed the banana cream (fantastic), hazelnut chocolate, peanut butter chocolate and Marionberry pies. All excellent!! We will definitely be back to try their other items -quiche, breakfast sandwiches and chaii.
google avatar

Yelp
Pies that are fun sized are the best! I've always been a sweet pie person but ever since trying their savory pies, my world has been changed. Yes, they have bomb-ass sweet pies such as the smores, but the savory is a game changer! Some of my favorites to get is the mushroom, smores, and banana cream. They have an online ordering system to make your life easier as you can just order ahead and pick up.
google avatar

Tarim S.

Yelp
Need this on the west side please!!!!!!!! I picked up a dozen variety for a brunch with friends and every single flavor was so good. Again please pop up in Beaverton or Hillsboro please!
google avatar

Yelp
This is the most consistently excellent treat spot in Portland. The flavors rotate seasonally, but there are also some favorites you can enjoy year-round. My personal favorite is the Meyer Lemon, although the chocolate peanut butter is a rich treat as well. The pies are perfectly balanced with a crust that is sturdy enough to contain the delicious fillings, but flaky and delicious as well. I recently discovered a strawberry pretzel pie- reminiscent of the strawberry pretzel jello of every family get together of the past- genius!!! You will not be disappointed by these little pieces of heaven nor by the friendly employees. The owner has even hand-delivered my large orders for work- you can't beat that service!
google avatar

Jennifer U.

Yelp
The most delicious chicken pot pie I've ever tasted. The crust was like a buttery croissant! There is zero need for salt. It's very rich and satisfying.
google avatar

Elaine T.

Yelp
Drove all the way here and looks like a nice place but wouldn't know because they weren't open. Although the hours on the door say they were supposed to be and online says they are. :( disappointing...

Yelp
I love The Pie Spot! The pies are all so tasty and fresh. I have never had a bad treat from here. The breakfast sandwiches are also so good! I'm a huge fan of the house made English muffin and the sauce they put on them. I always like to add protein to it as well, sausage is my favorite. One minor thing is the cold brew tastes a little old at times... Almost like its stored in a container that has had food in it before... Other than that everything (including the service) is great!

Mimi M.

Yelp
My favorite chicken pot pie!! Sooo delicious! I've also tried their s'mores, pecan pie, banana cream...all delicious too! I call ahead about 15 minutes, and they will heat up your cpp.

Keeley H.

Yelp
I loved all the different pie flavor options they had! I went later in the day, towards dinner time, and they were out of a lot of the classic options. I also waited about 25 minutes in line, but once we reached the front, service was really quick. There was only one person working at the window when I went. I settled for a chocolate hazelnut and blueberry ginger pie. Although the pies look small, they were plenty sweet and filling. Didn't love either of the pies I got, but would like to eventually return to try their quiche! While the ingredients may be cleaner/fresher, at $5 a pie, I wouldn't go out of my way to get pies from here over the grocery store.
google avatar

Alison I.

Yelp
Consistently tasty. I love the banana pie. The mushroom pot pie is also worth trying. Good choice if you are looking for comfort food.
google avatar

Katy L.

Yelp
Some damn good 3 bite size pies. My favorite was the key lime and banana cream pie but I feel like you can't go wrong with any of the pies.

Yelp
First time ordering from this new walk-up spot at the Rocket Empire Machine food hall in Montavilla. I ordered the breakfast quiche and a jalapeño biscuit online before arriving. The staff made a small error with my order - she didn't see the quiche on my order - but quickly offered to make it right by offering a free cup of coffee or pastries. This was very thoughtful and appreciated - customer service done right. The jalapeño and (free) pastries were delicious! Lather that baby up with some butter and enjoy. I might bring some home and make a breakfast biscuit sando out of it next time. The quiche was good, but not my favorite quiche of all time. It's a richer and heavier style quiche than I'm used to. It has a hearty filling with a very heavy top layer of cheese. I think cutting back on the amount of cheese on the top layer would make a huge improvement to the quiche. Looking forward to trying new items on my next visit. Welcome to the neighborhood!
google avatar

Kayleigh S.

Yelp
So happy we found this spot. Hands down, the BEST cookies I've ever had in my entire life. I've tried them all and they're incredible. Also all the pot pies are delicious and so is the breakfast sandwich.
google avatar

Laurie A.

Yelp
Best breakfast sandwich ever! Def add the sausage patty. Banana cream pie was epic. Can't wait to come back.
google avatar

Logan H.

Yelp
Wasn't sure about going to a pie shop for breakfast. We came through looking for a local spot as we came from out of town. Looking at other breakfast options that didn't have great reviews, we decided to do the pie spot. The service was good but the food was out of this world. The breakfast sandwich with bacon has so many flavors that mingle together and create a giant wonderland in your mouth. The sauce that they use for the breakfast sandwich is absolutely to die for. We ended up each getting two pies. I did the s'mores and a Dutch apple. Both were really good. My fiancé did the s'mores and the hazelnut. We will be returning in the future!

Katie O.

Yelp
Such a cute idea for a dessert place, and the pies are the perfect serving size :-) I wish they had apple all year round bc that's my fave but I got a raspberry rhubarb w vanilla ice cream and it was soooo good. Definitely going back
google avatar

Charae G.

Yelp
I just have to say the egg sandwich is my new favorite breakfast! WOW. For me, between the fresh English muffin, cheese, egg, sausage, and house sauce, it was a beautiful umami experience. We are super excited to have The Pie Spot in our neighborhood in Montavilla now! So convenient to walk up and order. Knowing this location had just opened under the pandemic, we came prepared to wait, but the service was so quick and friendly we were very pleased. We will be back for sure! Highly recommend checking out this new food court on Glisan!
google avatar

Zibby M.

Yelp
Fabulous pies! Great mix of savory and traditional pies. Reasonably priced. Don't forget the desserts! Yum!
google avatar

Nikki S.

Yelp
Wanted to like this place so much, super cool location with a brewery next door. I got the chicken pot pie it was really dry and cold in the center. Maybe next time I'll try something else if we come back!
google avatar

Ronald A.

Yelp
Stopped in to see if they had something we could have for lunch. The choice was easy, the mushroom and Gruyere pot pie. Just the right size for lunch. It was warmed and held the heat until we arrived home. The crust was not too thick or overdone. In short, just right and exceeded our expectations. We will definitely go back. Yum.
google avatar

Julie W.

Yelp
This place has more than just delicious pie! Lots of good options for breakfast and lunch. I had the pot pie with gruyere cheese and mushrooms. Outstanding! Super friendly and efficient staff.
google avatar

Kendra L.

Yelp
This is a great place! Genuine, friendly people with delicious pies. We tried a bunch- all were tasty but my favorite was the key lime. The cookies were wonderful- a unique balance of chewy and crispy. I will be back for sure!

Jennifer E.

Yelp
The s'mores pie is delicious and the fruity pebble cookies are amazing! Definitely a place you want to stop by if you're in Portland

Yelp
This is a cute little walk up window with sweet and savory pies, coffee and more. Unfortunately, this experience was not the best. The person working the shop gave me my coffee black and never even asked if I wanted cream or anything in it. I'm okay with black coffee and there were other people starting to line up, so I didn't go back and ask. But still, I've never been anywhere that they didn't offer cream, etc. I also got the green chile quiche. For $10, it was a total rip off. The server handed me a to go box that had a tiny quiche in it. I was thinner and slightly smaller than those small, frozen chicken pot pies we all grew up on. The taste was pretty good, but it had all these thin, stringy things in it. I couldn't figure out if it was parmesan cheese that hadn't been melted into the filling or some finely chopped vegetable. Either way, it was a very weird texture and somewhat ruined the experience. The menu said the quiche came with either a salad or a cookie, but mine came with neither nor was anything ever offered. I don't eat sugar and am not crazy about salad, so no big loss in that sense, but I felt I got very little for the money. I've been to many other coffeehouses in town that offer quiche for about $7-$8 and it's a much better serving with a small salad. This place needs to get some servers who have some clue as to what they're doing. I did notice most of the people in line were ordering the breakfast sandwiches, which seems to be a better way to go as they are only $5. I'm willing to try this place out again, but I'd probably go for the sandwiches and tell myself I'm going to have to be pushy to get what I want. For now, I'm rating it M for Mediocre.

Joe B.

Yelp
OMG we Love the mushroom pie and the chicken pot pie. In fact we get cravings for them. I have been a chef and I would not bother to make these pies as they have mastered it!

Rene S.

Yelp
Stopped by for a pie on a road trip. One of the best small pies we've ever eaten. And one of the best pecan pies ever. Can't wait to get back to Portland for more.

G D.

Yelp
These folks make some of the best savory pies in town & their service is always exceptional. That said, their sweet pies are also amazing but their savory offerings keep me coming back on the regular and that's saying a lot as Montavilla has no lack of delicious dining options!

Jessica R.

Yelp
This is part a new food pavilion on Glisan that has a some other food stands and Gigantic Brewing tap room. They have sweet and savory pies and some other food items and beverages. I have tried their sweet pies at another location, and they were good, but a bit crusty. I tried the savory hatch chile quiche. It was excellent. It was not spicy hot, just perfect. The side salad that came with it was simple and had light dressing. The cookie that was on the menu with it was not included. This is a takeout venue with a walk up window. I will be back to try other pie flavors.

Brandy Z.

Yelp
The worst Luke warm chai I've ever had. My partners coffee was barely warm as well. The apple pie was mushy and the lemon pie was runny. The person who took our order said no more than 2 words to us. We ended up throwing out $24 worth of food and drink because it was so horrible.

Sabrina B.

Yelp
Go here!!!! The breakfast sandwich was AMAZING and their coffee was honestly some of the best coffee I've had in Portland. We tried the hazelnut pie and the cherry pie and both were great. Highly recommend!

Shannon R.

Yelp
So good! Love the s'mores and Marionberry flavors. The staff is always really nice too

Jenni L.

Yelp
i stood at the counter for five minutes trying to get them to notice me while they were eating lunch. i even went around the building in front of where they were. when they finally noticed me, they walked up to the window and just stared at me, straight faced, without saying hi or anything. it was one of the strangest interactions of my life. the pie was good though.
