The drive to this place is reward enough - situated as it is in a remote(ish) part of the Highlands. Nestled between rugged, raw coastline and a beautiful lake, this place is one of Argyl's best kept secret.
Secret, that is, until I drove there and reviewed for Qype.
Cosy, welcoming location -the menu features locally caught seafood, the finest game (veal is on the menu and tastes superb) and vegetables which will settle the staunchest of appetites.
The place gets busier towards the evening as the locals start pouring in - which is the perfect antidote to the lonely, isolated days spent across town in moody Glen Coe (for that real Wuthering Heights feeling go when the mists descend).
By 9pm the place is aglow with vino and folk music and laughter and at this point, you really do feel at home here.
This place is also a hotel and residents can take advantage of outdoor activities arranged here such as kayaking, pony-trekking and rock climbing.
A place where memories are formed. Highly recommended
