"Drawing from a combination of techniques from Pilates, strength training, cardio, and ballet, Meghann O’Leary, the founder of The PilatesBarre, has put together a roster of classes diverse enough to avoid repetition fatigue. Using a revamped Pilates machine known as the BarreFormer, the fifty-minute sessions target both big and small muscle groups. Classes are small, and the instructors are very hands-on and ready to get in there and make adjustments. "

I took Ari’s class today. It was a great experience, I drove from frisco! Only reason they didn’t get full 5 stars, the website. It was a lot of logging in, making sure you have the right location. I would def say a good investment for the locations is an easier way to book/create an account.

Just took Kristen’s 4pm Sunday class and it was fantastic! So worth driving from McKinney for. Music A1, mic top notch, and great communication. Love ending the weekend on a high note

Praise & Pilates is so good!! I wish it was also offered at 7 am on Sundays and possibly 1-2x during the weekdays.

Google
Really bad place for beginners. They didn’t explain the machines or any of the terminology before taking my first class even though they promised they would. I hurt my shoulder- that could have been prevented had they spent 5 minutes giving me an overview of how the machines work. Do not go here is you are not experienced at Pilates!!!!

I had a Stride Class today at 10:30am with 18 people and it was not acceptable! No instruction for those on the treadmill the first half and no way the instructor could modify poses on the weights with all those people. Very disappointed with the quality of instruction for an expensive health club.

I had a really odd experience here. It was my first class - which I did pay for - and no one greeted me when I walked in or explained how the equipment worked or the set up of class. I go to many studios and it isn’t difficult to grasp, but I found it to be quite rude. The workout was fine, but quite easy in the non-treadmill parts. The instructor didn’t stay after class and was already outside on her phone by the time I collected my things to leave. I felt very unwelcome and had such a negative experience, I let the rest of my class package expire rather than have to go back for a subpar workout and rude staff.

Google
Won’t let you into class unless you come 10min early if you’ve never been there. They will charge $14 for a missed class. Don’t use them if you’re booking through class pass. Sessions Pilates is better.

The workout sessions at The PilatesBarre are fabulous. Tia Gannon is encouraging and enthusiastic. I was intimidated before going in but she made me and our group feel comfortable and at ease. The studio itself is soothing, clean, and a great environment. Love it!!!

Yelp
I loved every bit of the hurt this class gave me. It was my first BarreFormer class and Holly was amazing! She gave me a quick rundown before class started and made sure my form was perfect throughout all the exercises. All the ladies in the class were in tune and looked like true Pilates enthusiasts - I'm hoping that will be me by the end of the year.

Yelp
BUYERS BEWARE - If you buy a package and get sick or there is a COVID shutdown and you have limited class or NONE at all. The OWNER will not refund your money. SHE KEPT $1,000 for a package I purchased and did not feel comfortable using because of the OMNICRAN OUTBREAK. I BEGGED her to refund my money. TOTAL REFUSAL......

Yelp
Best workout EVER and the staff is so helpful! Swapping between Stride and Pilates. Is my fave. Helpful that they have two locations since I can't always make it to certain class times. If you live in the Dallas area, I highly recommend you check it out!

Yelp
When I was taking classes here I absolutely loved them. However, back in April 2020 I purchased classes, and then they closed the studio I had been attending. They promised me in writing a refund; however, after 4 months I've been told that I will never get my money back. If I had ever had the chance, prior to this I would of gone back to the studio as I loved working out there. However, I feel I need to warn people that you may never get your money back or your classes worth from this place. It is clear they are having financial issues and I would be very concerned about giving them any money. **Update, I did finally receive a refund.

Yelp
Been to both locations a while back, very nice studio and I love the color scheme (hence added 1 star). Great amenities and friendly front desk. Now about the classes, I've taken three different instructors here and none left me much impression. The instructors were nice, but they didn't demonstrate much of the moves or correct your forms. Judging from how others were doing, I'd say this place is more for experienced clients and not a very good first-timer studio. I recommended it to my friend, and she had a great first experience with instructor Alex (I think). But she also told me the second time she went, the instructor was much less attentive and didn't correct forms. I highly recommend checking Classpass reviews before booking classes to find a good instructor!

Yelp
If you're looking to get toned, look no further than The Pilates Barre. I like to think of it as harder than a normal Pilates reformer class but not quite as hard as a megareformer class (One Lagree, Studio 6). Regardless, it will make you burn in all the right places and will get you toned. The staff is friendly, the studio is clean and sunny, and I have found that the instructors frequently switch up the routines. However, I will say that Emily's class totally blew me away and I look forward to taking more of her classes. I highly recommend trying The Pilates Barre and wish it had been around during my SMU days!

Yelp
I seriously cannot say enough great things about the pilatesbarre! I discovered the studio through class pass but the location is so great and the pricing reasonable that I definitely don't mind purchasing additional classes. First off, the studio is modern and clean, with all the amenities you could hope for. They have locking lockers, a fresh water filling station, clean bathrooms, towels, workout apparel for sale and so much more. Second, the workout and the instructors are awesome. Particular shout out to Alex R, I came to her class a frazzled mess the first day I moved to Dallas. And several weeks later she still remembers me by name and checks into make sure I have adjusted to the move and am getting settled. She also is super motivating and helpful throughout her entire class- Pilates on megaformers is definitely a hard workout to master but she makes sure to demonstrates all the different positions throughout the class. Definitely give the studio a try, you won't regret it!

Yelp
Hit and miss with instructors, some fantastic others ok. Check with ClassPass for reviews on which instructors to take. Not great with customer service.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE The Pilates Barre! The classes are great! Since joining a month and a half ago, and going 6 days a week, I have lost 6 lbs and a half % of body fat! All of the teachers are amazing. And I love the bootcamp class. It allows me to get my cardio in for the week. I take most of my classes with Tia who is great at the reformer classes but is also awesome at the bootcamps (they are probably the hardest classes I have ever taken!). I was a huge Physique 57 fan when I lived in NYC, and this is the closest to that and probably the best workout I have found since living in Dallas. I am always sore (good sore) and I really love how convenient it is. Just bought 6 more months so I can get ready for my wedding next April!

Yelp
My absolute favorite pilates in Dallas! They always have fun themes during the week, ab focused classes, and the instructors are great! If you need to try pilates come here! I usually use ClassPass or studiohop to skip over their pricing. They offer student discount and have awesome grip socks. I prefer the Devonshire location over the University Park, mainly because it's newer and less cram class set up. They are both extremely nice and pleasant to go to. They also have a sister studio called treadbarre that is running and barre segments. If you have never been to pilates try it here !

Yelp
Best thing that's happened to my work out routine in the last decade! These workouts are on megaformers - which roughly translates into a machine bed with two platforms and a carriage that moves between with a series of springs that you can move with pulleys. They stretch out your muscles while fatiguing them, enabling you to really push without building bulk. I can feel myself get stronger and I can also really do 'regular' exercises (e.g. pushups) so easily now that it surprises me!! Tip - these pilates exercises are all about form - the actual movement may be very small, but if the form is kept, these exercises are killer! My favorite instructors are Meghan and April - these two girls really work you and correct your form. Good luck!

Yelp
I can not say enough positive about this place! From the staff, the instructors and awesome kick booty workouts! You won't regret giving this place a try and you may even gain an ab muscle or two!

Yelp
Love this place! The eucalyptus towels after class are so refreshing, they ALMOST make you forget the pain from class! It's worth it though, great, friendly instructors and staff! They make you feel welcome and explain the reformer to you if you're new. It's easy enough to follow along though, love coming here!

Yelp
I've tried so many studios in the area and this place is the BEST Pilates workout in Dallas! The studio is very clean and all the instructors are amazing! I love that they also have the Shop Barre which has such cute workout clothes as well as going out clothes - the buyer has great taste:)

Yelp
I signed up for an initial class. No modifications for beginners. I had told someone I talked to about back problems, and was not told that I probably shouldn't take the class. Severe back pain led me to leave the class before it was over. It appears that the staff have little knowledge about human physiology.

Yelp
OK.. So this is my new fav form of exercise.. I'm a crossfit girl so I def know the definition of sore.. I am telling you, this place has left my abs and lower half SO sore!!! I love the reformer, I love that the class is 50 min. They also have a bootcamp, which I have yet to try. The normal classes aren't super cardio workouts, but I'm sure this will have more cardio in it. Until then I will just run to get my cardio on. The instructors are great and the music is awesome!! They have 2 locations: University Park (Which is where I go) and Preston Forest. They are running some good specials!! Ladies I highly recommend you visiting and please mention me as a referral!!!

Yelp
I have been doing Pilates Barre since last October. I'm very impressed with how my body and strength have changed! I've tried a few studios before I committed to doing monthly classes and hands down this studio is truly the BEST. The instructors are Kick Ass (my favs. Emily, Randi, Meredith, Tonya and Aimee!!:) all instructors are Amazing these are just my favs.. I drive from Mckinney, Texas all the way to both studios at least 5 days a week... Why??? Bc I have truly seen a change in my body! It's worth every penny. I suggest if you are interested to try out the classes, don't be discouraged if you don't get it, or it seems impossible to do.. Stick in there bc practice makes you better at anything you do! I can do planks, leg exercise and arm workouts that were so hard in the beginning. Every workout is challenging, but thats what you want in order to see change. I Pilates Barre!!!!

Yelp
This respectable place of business which touts itself in D Magazine as serving the SMU community, is out to scam your students. Signing them up for recurring charges on their credit cards then not providing proof of the agreement .When disputed they could not contend with the credit card company. They still owe us additional money but will not return our phone calls. So much for properly handling your business, Meghann O'Leary. Shame on you!

Yelp
Poor facility, rude instructor/studio director. I went in to try a class for the first time. They had no room so I asked if I could observe to have an idea because I have never done Pilates before. First of all the ceilings are low, space is tight, ventilation is poor, music is too loud and you can hardly hear the instructor. The instructor speaks to the whole group but does not pay individual attention; you need to look at others to figure out what you are supposed to do if you cannot hear/understand the instructor which is very likely due to loud music. 20 minutes into class the instructor/studio director comes up to me and asks if I will stay the whole time and adds that she cannot let me observe the whole time. I guess they don't need new customers!
