"The Pine Bar opens at Boston Public Market on June 16, leveling up the downtown destination to allow tourists and locals to sip New England beers and wines, as well as cocktails featuring local liquors, while browsing the market or relaxing on the patio outside. Local restaurateur Philip Frattaroli — whose company the Filmark Hospitality Group is behind restaurants in Boston’s North End (Lucia, Ducali, and more) as well as East Boston’s Cunard Tavern — had just come back from a wedding in Denver when he saw Boston Public Market’s request for bar proposals, and everything fell into place. The Pine Bar is focused on highlighting the best of New England, from small liquor brands around the region to dairy, juices, and other ingredients coming right from other market vendors. That means the menu will rotate a lot depending on the season, says head bartender Joe Camiolo, who came over from sibling spot Cunard Tavern to run the Pine Bar. The bar's debut feels like a triumph for Boston Public Market as it bounces back from two-plus difficult years as the pandemic turned downtown Boston into a ghost town." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

Google
Go-to casual beer bar in downtown Boston. LOVE the rotating taps—always a great selection of draft pours from local New England breweries! Highly recommend

The location is very cool and It's in a great spot in the public market. My partner and I left after waiting for the server for over 15 minutes to even take our orders. He wasn't busy, he was playing chess with some other customers on the bar.

Distracted service? I guess that’s what I’d say. Slow Tuesday (hours are wrong, which kind of tells the story of how it’s run…) and the Market workers hanging together. Cocktails are really expensive at $16-$18 served in a little plastic cup. With so much around the Market, and inside, not sure it’s the place I’ll stop again.

Stopped by for a couple of drinks today while in the public market. The ladies working were very friendly and great to chat with. My wife and I had a couple of beers and a Gin and soda. All were really good. I would stop here again for a drink.

This was perfect for a quick beer, although a little on the pricey end ($10 for a solo cup sized draft pour). Our bartender was super helpful with recommendations and insights on all of the available beers. We loved the aluminum cups that the beer was served in. Yum!

Google
One of my favorite casual bars in Boston. Drinks are phenomenal and reasonably priced, and the service is always top notch

😎how many times have I been to this place? 1 👩🏻summary: recently opened. It’s a perfect place to grab a quick fresh beer before shopping at the public market on weekend. 💁🏻‍♀️would I revisit this place? Yes

Google
Our drinks were made incorrectly. One with too much ginger beer, and far too much lime. The other made without grenadine, it was sour and bitter and had way too much lime. It was gross

Yelp
Stopped by today while in the public market for a couple of drinks. The bartenders working we great and a blast to talk to. We had a couple of pints and a Gin and soda. All were really good. I would stop here for a beer again.

Yelp
Grabbed a beer as our walking food tour was passing by, they had an okay selection of options, opted for a local beer. Unfortunately server/bartender seemed to ignore me for quite a while before she decided to come take my order.

Yelp
Pretty good bar and I like that they have the outside bar open sometimes too. Mostly beer but they do have some hard liquors/wine and most are local/craft beers which is nice. Always served in an aluminum cup and tasty!

Yelp
Luke is an awesome bartender and this is a cool spot. He was engaged and talkative about himself and to us. Had great recommendations about the beers on tap and in the bottle. Despite the boss apparently quitting a couple days before he was able to hold it down and keep it running smooth. Thank you Luke for such a great experience in Boston and I hope you make it to see that next eclipse. Great beers from New England and a great place to enjoy them.

Yelp
Decent market bar. We came here on a food tour and we had a New England cider as well as the espresso martini which was more like an espresso latte and pretty strong.

Yelp
Sat down to order a beer and the bartender never looked at us once. Too busy talking to his friends. Walked away after 10 min of no service.

Yelp
I have had an awesome experience here but not tonight! Cranky BT and dismal poor. I'll still come back but not happy.

Brittany M.

Yelp
I waited for a few minutes for the bartender to look around, she was busy flirting with another employee. Multiple people were waiting patiently for her to take their orders. When I chose to say excuse me, she responded that I was interrupting her, they were talking business, and I was rude interrupting them. It was delivered in an extremely sassy tone where I didn't feel comfortable ordering from there and had to leave. Seems like a bad practice to treat customers like this.

Yelp
Poor/average bar. I guess it's good for tourists coming into the BPM. They have a very weird selection of beers. It like seems as if it's out of place. Not a great experience overall.

Yelp
Best stall in the market by far! Bartender Ashley has a great knowledge of mixed drinks, drafts, and customer service! Will come back whenever i'm in town

Mike R.

Yelp
Waited 15 minutes for the Bartender to acknowledge us. Then she changed all trash barrels in the place. I'd just go the bell in hand instead.

Yelp
Stopped by while I was waiting for my food at Red's Best, by the time I was done I forgot the reason for my visit at Boston Public Market. Keaton was personable and greeted me when I approached the bar. I'm not much of a beer drinker so he helped me narrow it down to something that I enjoyed. He checked on me frequently and provided great service. Thank you Keaton!!

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the bar located inside the Boston Public Market which is such a nicer, more interesting and more relaxing location compared to Quincy Market. One of the advantage of this place is that there are a number of food vendors at the market so one can order what they want be it Moroccan, Pastrami, a savory popover and then enjoy a cold beer or cocktail here. The beer selection is tilted as it should be to regional New England breweries and there is a fair range of choices. The bartender when we were there was Joey, what a great guy!

Thomas G.

Yelp
All the beer, wine, and liquor is locally sourced! The bartender makes all the drinks using fruit from farmers that sell in the market. If you're not into liquor they have wine from local wineries and beer from Massachusetts breweries. This isn't the kinda place you get PBR.

John P.

Yelp
Went shortly after they were acknowledged by Eater as one of the best new bars in Boston. Sat at the bar and the bartender (if you can her that) came over and told us it was beer only. "The shaker is broken". No offering of seltzer, wine, or a normal mixed drink. No one else at the bar. I go to the Boston Public Market on a regular basis and the only people I've ever seen sitting at the bar are people who work there. I don't imagine this concept working long term.
