The last stop on our Maui day trip ended up being a favorite for both of us. It was a combination of the people, drinks, and food; we're already excited to return again soon.
The Pint & Cork is the best beer bar on Maui; you will not find a better selection of local (Hawaii-made) craft beer anywhere else. They have 16 taps; a few classic European are on it, but it mostly features Maui (Maui Brewing, Kohola Brewery, and Mahalo Aleworks), plus breweries from Oahu like Honolulu Beerworks and Aloha Beer Co. I was so thankful on this visit to have a DaKine DIPA from Kohola Brewery - one of the ones lost in the 2023 wildfires. I also went with a draft Talk Story Pale Ale, because I'm not sure when I'll get the opportunity again.
It's located in the Shops at Wailea, mauka side. Parking is still free as of this writing, plus it's a quick walk from many of the resorts and hotels nearby. They have outdoor seating inside the mall, but it's shaded with big trees so it looked cozy even with the sunshine. Inside is darker, a great respite from the sunshine if you need and great place to watch sporting events or nightlife.
Besides beer, they have a huge selection of liquor for cocktails, plus wine. Our original plan was to have a drink or two here, but the food menu caught my partner's eye and we ended up staying for dinner. This is a gastropub, meaning they focus on food and alcohol together. We had a bowl of corn chowder, an order of medium rare steak over fresh greens, and the Deviled Eggs Rockefeller - one of the richest and most delicious things I've eaten in a long time. We only wished we had had more time before our flight, and bigger stomachs to try more. Ah well, there's always next time.
Huge mahalo to bartender Shaun and bar manager Ryan for the excellent service, hospitality, and talking story with us as much as busy place allowed. We look forward to seeing you both again soon!
If you're a beer fan on Maui, it's really worth your time to visit. Come hungry and thirsty!
