Fast and good service, the amount of veggies they add its amazing and for that reason this place has become my first top pizza...

We purchased the 'combo' King Kong 24" pizza with 25 square pieces for $51 on a credit card after all tax and fees. The pizza was fresh and delicious. The service was great, provided by the family who owns the restaurant. While we were eating in the restaurant, the owner made a VERY kind gesture to a couple that were buying a pizza for a school function. The Pizza Box is worth a visit. Definitely a lot of shareable food for the money!

We ordered chorizo,ham, and pineapple. The crust is well done, so if you can I would recommend to eat there so it fresh. Once you get home and starts to cold down it might not be a good as eating it fresh off the oven. But this might just be me.

I'm glad I trusted the reviews! I called a few minutes before they closed and was cheerfully attended to. That staff was kind and helpful. Furthermore, this might very well be the best pizza my brother and I have ever had! We're just passing through from SoCal but have been blown away by how good this pizza is. We had it for dinner and are considering getting it again for lunch tomorrow before we hit the road. The crust, ingredients, service, everything is on point! 👍🏼😊

Good pizza great price huge pizzas all the way down to by the slice. The Uncle Sam is the biggest and for 37$ for a one topping pizza is a deal. Been coming here for years great little family owned business the recognize you and welcome you back every time. Highly recommend this place.

I was looking to try a new pizza spot, and found "The Pizza Box" on yelp. They offer pizza by the slice, I thought perfect lunch spot. I've never been here before, but found it easily. The parking lot is small for this shopping center. The service was fast and friendly. The drinks are individual serving sizes (cans & bottles), no fountain drinks. The individual slices are made to order, and come out hot & fresh. They are large too. I really appreciated the crust, it was crispy. Loved it, I couldn't finish my slice. The place was clean, with plenty of seating, but it's not for large party seating, more like four people a booth seating. I would recommend this spot for take out if you're ordering for a lot of people, or a quick lunch dine in for a small group of people.

8 bucks for a large pizza with 3 toppings. Solid deal and not to mention the taste is definitely here. They even have a insanely large size called uncle sam (30 square pieces). Want good pizza come here and give it a go.

Wanted to like this pizza and was looking for a new quality East coast-style pizza spot. Got an extra-large pizza (half pepperoni, quarter cheese and a quarter sausage) with an order of cheese sticks. Only $27 for everything. The cheese sticks tasted like Dollar Store frozen mozzarella sticks and one of the cheese sticks had freezer burn. They were not even cooked fully and was clear it was store bought and not house made. I threw the rest of them away. The pizza tasted good when I ate a slice hot and fresh from the box inside the store. But after the third slice I got extremely full. The pizza dough I soon found was way too thick for my preference. I didn't care for the sausage it tasted very low quality/cheap. The pepperoni and cheese were better and the sauce tasted decent but the pizza could have used more cheese. By the time I got home, my husband didn't enjoy the pizza at all. He said, "it's not very good." It was ok while it was hot but I guess you can't expect quality when the price was so cheap.

Pizza box is one of those hidden ESSJ gems that you have to know about .. it's an old mom and pop shop kinda place but the pizza is great and huge portions I got 2 slices one combination and one Cheese slice. Perfect balance of toppings/cheese ratio Crust was nice and crispy Definitely a place to check out!

Best pizza in town! Been coming here for many years since I was young. Always made fresh to order. Me and my family love their pizza crust it's so flavorful taste amazing. We love to order it with extra cheese it's so toast cheesy and full of flavor. We love to order from here when we have family in town. And they mention how good the pizza is :) they are very polite they respond right away and always get my order right. Family owned recommend 100%

Still the best bombast slice of pizza! If ya order it any other way than the way I do, not good! My special way of ordering and the combination of items....WORKS! Place has been around almost 35 years, so In itself, that means a lot. Owners are pretty nice people just once in a while you get someone on the line when ordering by phone that may be difficult to understand. It's a small quaint place that would hold a group of 15 if you brought them, so don't keep debating or putting this place off. You are going to hate yourself for not finding this gem sooner.

Hands down my favorite pizza on planet Earth. Every-time I make my way back home to San Jose this is the place I must stop at. For when ever reason this place just brings me back to my youth. It might not be the new hotness, or have a Instagram wall but it doesn't need to. The pizza is perfect. Not too expensive, not cheap, just right. 10/10 would recommend you give this a try especially if you have a large gathering and don't want to go with the stuff waiting for you in a hot box with no customer service.

Is it under new ownership? The price not only has increased, but the pizza is no longer the same. I've been coming here long enough, I know The Pizza Box pizza. The crust in particular is noticeably different. No longer thick and bubbly, now it is flat and resembles instant crust like you can buy at the store. It wasn't terrible, but it's definitely not the same Pizza Box pizza that I have loved over the years. This might be my final visit if this is the new norm.

First time at The Pizza Box and I have been missing out. It never really caught my attention when I would pass by, and i passes by a lot, lol. So my sister recommended we order from here and here we are. Ordered the combo, pepperoni and one with chorizo and jalapeño. We got three slices, one of each and to my surprise the slices were huge. My kind of slice. The pizza was really good. They did not skimp on the toppings and the crust was perfectly cooked making it crispy throughout the slice. The chorizo and jalapeño is as close as you and possibly get to a Shakeys bullfighters pizza. Im so glad I tried The Pizza Box. I will definitely recommend this place for some delicious Pizza. lol

The Pizza Box serves some amazing pies, with quality ingredients and generous amounts of cheese, sauce, and toppings. We got half the house combo, and half bullfighter... delicious mexican chorizo and spicy jalapenos to keep my mouth burning, and yet it's hard to stop eating! One of the few pizzas I even enjoyed all the way to the ends of the crusts, so crispy, everything full of flavor coming together perfectly to create such a satisfying meal on Halloween night while watching horror flicks with my favorite person :D

Great spot for pizza. Employees are very nice, even gave my kids a little toy while we were eating. Great pizza and cheesy garlic bread.

One of the true San Jose classic mom and pop spots, i have so many memories here since the early 90's. This family always treated us with love and respect and it's still true to this day. They used to give my mom cans and bottles to recycle and I'll never forget their kindness. The pizza is so unique because they use corn meal in their dough and cooked in a stone oven which is unheard of now. It's a taste that hooks you right away! We sat and ate here today and it was amazing to see all the people come in and talk to the wonderful owner and ask about each others families, you really don't see that much anymore. I can't recommend The Pizza Box enough!

If you get the Uncle Sam, they will ask where did you get the pizza. I haven't seen a pizza so big lol. I was going to do 3 medium pizzas with different 1-toppings but Pizza Box suggested getting the Uncle Sam because it is more pizza for about the same price. I called on a Monday for a kid's birthday and even got a call back when the pizza was ready. Service was great, and they helped me load it in the car. They also gave some plates, napkins and ranch. One kid said the pizza was really good! Easy to get to and parked right in front. We also got a large combo, and it was more than enough pizza leftover.

The quality of this pizza is 4/5 but I had to round up for the amazing customer service experience. Okay, let's start with the size of this pizza. This is your VALUE pizza for sure. Please look at the picture below for reference. I included a fork so you can see the scale. I ordered the combo pizza in the size "king kong". This pizza is huuuge and it was only 39 bucks! A medium or a large at any other place is already about 40-50 bucks and is only about 1/3 of the size of the King Kong. Now, I will say that the value comes at a price. There are a couple of things I noticed that wasn't quite on par. The cheese wasn't evenly distributed. The sauce also wasn't evenly distributed. Some parts were heavier on sausage while other parts seemed to be just veggies. The sauce was alright. The crust/ dough was great. They were generous with the toppings even thought it was inconsistent. I misheard the price and came into the store a dollar short. Luckily, I had cash in the car and I then told the lady at the front that I would be back in just a minute to get some more cash, but she was insistent that it was fine! She kept reassuring me that it was okay and was very sweet about it. I had to put up a bit of a fight just so I could get to the car and get the correct amount for her!! It was funny but also very sweet of her to offer that. Overall, a hole in the wall, friendly business with great pizza especially considering the size and value. I imagine this would be great for when you need to feed a big crowd. Can't wait to come back!

Been going to this place since I was a kid and now my kids love this place too! It's the sauce for me, but when you need a quick fix for a delicious pizza, this is a very inexpensive option as well.

This was my first time coming here based on a Google search for the "closest pizza place near me." I am so glad I found this hidden gem! It is a quiet and small ambiance but very welcoming. The 2 gentlemen working the front were very nice and very helpful when ordering our slices of pizza & didn't charge us for the ranch. When the food came out, the slices were bigger than expected & for a price you cannot beat! We will defiantly be coming here again :)

Hello, I love the pizza Box! Ive been going here since I was a kid. Unfortunately I had ordered a Large Pepperoni the other day and found hair within the cheese. This has happen for the first time EVER and I was disappointed. I called to see if they can resolve the issue and the gentleman on the phone had informed me I would have to buy a new one .....

Ordered a slice to go. Took about 10 minutes. Price reasonable. Service good. Slice was really big.

Really solid pizza. Get the jalapeños for some good spicy. They're fresh not pickled! Huge sizes! We got the second largest size "MM". 4 adults stuffed. The wings were rather small and the sauce was very sweet. Would order again but with a different sauce for the wings and wish they had blue cheese dressing as a dipping sauce option.

Needed a big pizza to feed a classroom, got two uncle Sam's and had plenty of leftovers. The uncle Sam's are cut very small so I would recommend atleast two squares per person. Overall it's good pizza and you can't beat the prize for the quantity that you receive. Also they are really nice and understanding.

This place is awesome. I mean, I've been going here maybe only 5 years but I used to live on the Alum Rock area years ago and I can't believe I never heard of this place before but luckily I'm only 10 minutes away. CASH ONLY! Yah sorry no credit cards so be prepared. Pizza can be the slice or the size so huge you would need a truck bed. I've never needed to order one yet and i've been doing slices for the family but they are quick and the cheese are awesome. Slices usually takes about 10-15 minutes and they do allow you to call in. It's just straight up pizza. No Vegan, No Glutten free, just tasty tasty pizza and you wont go broke for a single slice and it will fill you up. Seems like a bad area but you'll be fine.

MOST BANG FOR BUCK. Hands down! Combine a ridiculously huge "slice" with incredible flavor for a good price & you have yourself a recipe for repeat customers, which, as an establishment is considered a true mark of success, right? It's a simple little joint with lots of seating. Nothing fancy schmancy here, but it doesn't need it. Pretty clean, too. Their menu is fairly simple and they offer several combo's as pictured on the wall, however you can customize your order to your heart's desire as well. The gentleman who took our orders was very friendly and professional, so always a great way to start. They also have decent selection of fountain sodas, canned & bottled sodas, iced teas, juices as well as a good variety of various beers as well. I'm glad my friend explained to me how huge the slices were because I was tempted to order another so I could sample another variety as well, but when the gentleman brought our orders (1 slice each) to us where we were seated, I'm happy I went with a single slice because - they are HUGE! I think I spent less that $13 on two slices, a tall can Arizona Iced Tea and a Shock Top bottled beer. Winning! Let's talk about this pizza. It's very thin crusted and NY style and I've had quite a few pizzas that claim to be NY styled, however - this place delivered in both flavor, a perfect amount of cheese and the crust was actually slightly crispy which was just perfect!! Both myself and my friend couldn't even finish our entire slices, so we packed them up to go and happily scarfed down the leftovers for breakfast on the way to work today. Don't judge me. By the way - this place would be perfect for a large party because they offer so many sizes - not only do they offer a King Kong size which you see in many pizza joints, but they also offer something even larger called the Uncle Sam at a whopping 26"! The person on the phone was really nice and the pizza was ready in 35 mins as she mentioned over the phone. I ordered the Uncle Sam pizza with 3 toppings: pepperoni, sausage onions jalapeños, and pepperoni sausage olives bell peppers. The owner was really nice and welcoming. He read the order again and showed us the pizza.

Cheapest pizza in San Jose. Get a massive party size for $9 full loaded with up to 8 toppings. Tastes almost as good as Little Caesers. Manager is nice guy his name is Govert. Call him and ask for the special BUY 1 MEDIUM, GET 2 LARGE free. Givhert the manager will set up up with great pizza. Nice guy Gaverz the owner.

The wing no good it was hard to eat and my wife was sad because she couldn't eat the wings and we have to throw it away and my kids didn't like the pizza and my kids say that they didn't like the because pepperoni was cold and the wings not good and we ask them to cook it and they and they give it to us and it was black inside and kids say that they do not want to go to this place.

Pizza made however you want it. Price is just right and the service is awesome. They treat customers with respect.

GREAT PIZZA! Longtime ESJ residents - how did we NOT try The Pizza Box until today!?! Tasty crust (which is critical) and sauce too. We tried a few different slices and, with the HUGE sizes, will be enjoying leftovers tomorrow! Yum! We will definitely be back!

Not the best pizza in the world but you can get a good sized pizza for a good price. Nice for a feeding the family type of situation. Owners are very nice and charitable. Highly recommend.

The Pizza Box doesn't really stand out on the outside but inside, it's definitely excellent. Came here right when the store opened and got myself a combo slice as it's the most recommended and ideal choice. One slice is big and a lot of toppings are added. The bottom can be a bit burnt but the overall dough was thick and crunchy. It also didn't take long for the pizza to be made fresh and the people who worked there were nice. So I fully support The Pizza Box and a place to go to around the Alum Rock area!

I mean, where else in the south bay can you get a gigantic pizza that feeds 10 adults for under $40?! I recommend calling it in and don't forget it is cash only. I love their pizza because they don't hold back on toppings, has the perfect amount of cheese to hold it together & medium crust. I ordered a combo Uncle Sam (their largest size) which is cut into multiple pieces not just slices, perfect for a party! I also ordered a vegetarian which was delicious but it had a bit too many olives for my taste. They don't do things like GF crust or wheat but it is delicious & high quality for a super affordable price!

Hadn't had pizza box in a long time since I moved out of the east side. It was the hood spot to get your oversized pizza by the slice and square cut King Kong/Uncle Sam pizzas for your kids' birthday parties. I used to hold it up to high regards. After many estranged years I came back to a disappointment. Quality went way down. They used to pile on the toppings, now they skimp. The linguica tasted like it went bad and had a gray tinge. If it isn't fresh then why risk it, just say you're out of linguica?! I picked them all off but it left a bad aftertaste on the entire slice. I remember their pizza being toasty, cheesy, and overflowing with toppings. Now it's just dull and tasteless. Same nice owners run the place but unfortunately I won't waste my time coming back.

Somewhere between this location and the current incarnation of the Milpitas location exists the heavily mourned and missed Milpitas Pizza Box that I have loved for the last 25 years. If only I could combine this place's cheese, and sausage with Milpitas's sauce, and crust - that's the dream. Service is very friendly and the slices (and pizzas) are an incredible value.

Huge portion size slices on the cheap! I enjoy this place and always am greeted with friendly service! Pizza is awesome! Next time there is a family potluck I'm gonna get the king kong or uncle Sam Pizza! It's crazy the amount and not bad at all on pricing!

Went there for the first and only time on Monday June 14th after picking up some sushi at another restaurant probably less than a mile away... bought a 14 inch large pepperoni pizza for $15 even. Was intent on buying a larger combination but unknown to me as with the sushi restaurant, it was cash only and I had only $15 In cash. The pizza was average in size, taste and quality. Would've liked to have tried the combination but that'll have to wait until next time...It was pretty popular though. Many customers came and not only bought pizzas but picked up orders as well...

Underrated pizza place . Great value on your $$$ I got the XL last time. Probably get the King Kong next time

Been coming down here for the past four years always craving for pizzas, chicken wings not to mention garlic bread and cheese sticks. Their prices are damn cheap and you're getting a lot more for big bucks. When I order it's usually take out prefer medium to super size large and they are huge and with 3 toppings tasty and delicious not as flat or burnt. The older lady and sometimes the young man are always polite and friendly. They seem to know my preference since I've been here at least 30 times or more. A few times my friends and I would have a huge party and put an order for King Kong and Uncle Sam that would be enough to feed an army.

I've been grabbing pizza from here for many years already, however this last time the pizza wasn't good as always. I remember the crust been a little bit more thick And the pizza didn't have much flavor either. It's sad to say but I'm very disappointed since This was one of our places to grab pizza
