Somebody from Texas was raving about the Mexican food in San Francisco. I've heard Texas has good Mexican food, being so close to Mexico. And I know San Francisco's Mission District is renowned for Mexican food. So I figured that I could trust his cuisinely opinions.
"What's the best food in all of San Francisco?" I quizzed.
He thought about it while licking his lips, his eyes darting about the sky.
"We had this pizza," he started slowly, "that was like pizza in it's purest form"
"What is the purest form of pizza?" I squawked, perplexed.
"Oh," he pondered, "You can have regular pizza, or New York Deep dish, or Chicago deep dish, or Boston style deep dish..."
My interest was piqued.
"But this is just like, just the right amount of toppings. The perfect crust. The perfect sauce. It was just right."
He didn't describe it too much besides that, but it was nearing lunch, so I drove 25 minutes to go halfway across San Francisco and try it out.
Two parking spots were available exactly across the street. The sun was shining. People were smiling. It was meant to be.
If you want a slice of pizza, go here.
If you want a good variety of choices, go here.
If you're really hungry, it's fast and it's cheap enough to get a few slices.
If you just want a snack, it's not weighed down by too many toppings.
If you want to sit and eat, there are several tables.
If you want to eat and walk, it comes on a paper plate.
Since we're talking perfection, I'd prefer the crust to be slightly less crunchy; I'd prefer there to be slightly less cheese, and slightly more toppings and sauce.
The bathroom is super clean.
Service is friendly and fast.
I wish my neighborhood in Richmond, CA had a pizza-by-the-slice place like this.
If you choose to give a thumbs-up or not, I hope you found my review helpful!
