The spicy Thai tofu wrap was very lemongrass-forward but it was an okay airport meal that didn’t send me into bankruptcy ($18.24). Literally just a summer roll with a tortilla instead of rice paper. The “spice” gives the Trader Joe’s ghost pepper chips a run for their money — no spice at all.

Google
A spin on vegan or vegetarian. A bit pricey but the portion is good for an airport spot. No need to tip already a surcharge on your receipt. Tip extra if you want to. Got the breakfast burrito and it was filled with black beans potatoes eggs some cheese. This did fill me up. I say check it out.

Google
Had a long layover at the San Francisco airport so I spent it wandering around looking for some good food. The plant café was tasty. I got a smoothie and a chicken pesto sandwich. I’m happy with both I’d come back.

Google
I ordered the chicken cobb salad that is pre-packaged. It tasted pretty fresh, but was missing the cheese that is supposed to come with it. The price of $18.00 is also insane for the amount you were given. The employee that took my order was nice!

Anne Margaret White

Google
Friendly, welcoming staff. All of the menu options are displayed so you can figure out what you're ordering. Everything looks fresh. We got our wraps really quickly. Employee kindly repackaged our order so we could get the wraps we ordered in our bags. Great spot for a vegetarian/non-meat sandwich.

Google
quick and fast but not worth the money at all. I paid over $15 for a “organic” chicken avocado sandwich that wasn’t worth $2 at a gas station. It was already made, looked old, was dryer than sand, and tasted awful. This is the last place I’d go to eat at the airport. Disappointed that I wasted over $25 here.

Google
The plant burger was delicious. Based on reviews, all the premade stuff isn’t good- but the burger was fresh and delicious. And it’s all organic. Wasn’t the best meal ever, but definitely 5 stars for airport food!

Google
The spicy Thai tofu wrap is one of the worst things I've ever tried. It was dry, bland, and the ingredients were terrible quality. After I asked what the Thai tofu was wrapped in, I was told it was just wrapped in lettuce. It's not, it's wrapped in lavish bread. Wheat/gluten is not listed as an allergen, and lavish is listed as an ingredient (but none of the individual ingredients within the lavish are listed) so it's possible that it's a gluten free wrap? (Maybe?) But I'm allergic to yeast, so I couldn't eat the wrap whether it was gluten free or not. I unraveled it to try to eat the rest as a "salad," but it was SO disgusting that I threw it all away and got food somewhere else. The coffee was great, but the service was awful and the ingredients are not properly listed which I'm pretty sure is illegal

Yelp
Love a quick stop at The Plant Cafe Organic in Terminal 2 D for a healthy preflight boost. For airport food, it's good. The counter is simple and organized well. They have freshly made-to-order juices and smoothies, pre-made meals, and other menu items you can order if you have time to wait. I love their baked goods as well. Usually there's something vegan or gluten-free. Their banana bread is killer. I usually get a fresh juice to sip and the pre-packaged tofu wrap for flight. Prices are a bit high, but so is everything else at the airport. I rather eat something heathy to hold me over. Service is patient, the kitchen pushes orders quickly, and I'm always happy with the decisions.

Yelp
I had previously enjoyed the fare at The Plant Cafe Organic so either we visited on an off day or their quality has dropped significantly. I ordered a coconut milk smoothie and a latte with coconut milk. The latte was probably the worst I've ever had. It had no flavor and tasted like coffee watered down. The honey enjoyed his drip coffee and my smoothie was good but this terminal of SFO runs cold so it's not enjoyable to drink just a smoothie here. Unfortunately, everything considered I think this was our last visit.

Yelp
Reasonably priced place for breakfast in SFO Terminal 2. $9.95 egg and cheese panini was delicious and not too expensive. Can eat half of it early and the other half later, still tastes good even if not hot. Was on a nonstop flight 5-6hrs long and didn't plan on paying for food onboard, so this was a good solution.
google avatar

Mei T.

Yelp
I ordered the Green Basic juice (kale, celery, parsley, apple, lemon) and vegan almond lemon cookie. The juice was refreshing, but it would've been nice if it was chilled. I guess because it was freshly pressed, it was warm/room temperature. The cookie was dry so I did not enjoy it. Staff was very friendly!

Yelp
I mean... all airport food kinda sucks. If you need something in your tummy then go for it, it's a little bland, it definitely could use some sauce and it's 13$ for a burrito

Yelp
$ 11.50 egg(2), spinach, cheese, tomato on wheat. Cooked fresh to order. Best value and great quality - hands down. Other places were charging 140-160% more for non-organic & pre-made stuff with the same ingredients. This is the spot for terminal 2. Easy ordering. Attentive staff. Remember it's cooked to order so if there's a line, it will take a bit longer. I got a peek behind the curtain into the kitchen. There's 4 burners but only room for 1 cook. Again - 4 stars only for the airport.
google avatar

Yelp
Chicken avocado sandwich - avocado was not cut inside, the entire half of the avocado was just in the sandwich. The picture shown was half eaten already. This was also $15, very pricey for what it was. The sandwich was inly cut in half on the top slice of bread and not bottom slice so had to just pull it apart making it super messy. Would not get again. Bagel - $5 with $1 cream cheese. It was ok nothing special, but more worth then the sandwich Chocolate croissant - $5, slightly larger than the one at Peets, less chocolatey.

Yelp
Dining method: Takeout (that's the only option at this counter serve spot) Speed: Super fast Items ordered: Thai Tofu Wrap The short answer: When in need (and when you're a plant-based eater), The Plant Cafe very likely will be your best option at SFO. It may be kind of bland, but it seems quite fresh and clean. At least the most important things are there! The long answer: We got the tofu wraps. Full of fresh veggies, with an underwhelming-in-flavor peanut sauce, it did its job and filled me up! The Plant Cafe doesn't really have an ambiance because it's in the airport. The service was fast and that's what matters most when you're traveling!

Yelp
Well this is in San Francisco airport around D gate. Super fresh food and fast service. I would highly recommend having their California Burger - it was so good !!

Yelp
Food at the airport is getting better (also more expensive) over the last couple of years. So having a plant-based alternative made sense. And as a flexitarian, I thought I will give it a try. They make their patty and do not go with the flow to use imitation meat. As much as I enjoy a beyond or an impossible one to only make the major ones - I dislike that a lot of places replace their veggie Pattie with a meat alternative. If somebody is vegetarian or vegan he might simply don't wanna taste the meat. So I highly recommend restaurant owners and chefs to offer both - you will be surprised that you might sell more even when you would have an extra item on the menu. That said the PLANT burger here is a patty made in-house from lentils, mushrooms, beets, cashews & bulgur wheat. So you need to like lentils and beets then this is also the flavor profile they are going with. I do not like mushrooms but they are not adding much to the taste and are mostly a form of binder. Since it's vegan it can't use eggs. But honestly, this burger would benefit from an egg. The patty is very crumbly and that's the reason for my two recommendations: - grab a fork you will need it for the salad anyway - it's not a great food to take ON the airplane Other than that the taste: since I ordered the California burger it was topped with grilled onions lettuce tomato vegan mayo, house-made vegan cheese, and avocado. Overall it was a tasty one - the crumbly part made it a bit dry and I wish they would have put on more of the vegan mayo to make it a bit more come together. First I was not sure if they not have forgotten to put the "cheese" on it but they are just shy portion-wise. So you don't get cheese on every byte. It is a good burger in general. the patty is generous in size but the whole burger would benefit from more of the other parts (everything like onions and avocado was also very shy in appearance) in a bigger amount. Conclusion for $16 you get a fair veggie/ vegan burger that would benefit from some receipt tweets. One star goes away for the service not being up to par with their products (i did not read that the burger already comes with onions and I asked the service if they can add onions. Her reaction where thinking for a couple of second and then answering no we don't have onions, well I was happy that the burger comes already with grilled onions even when it was only two stripes of it) and for not being a perfect burger - and it could be with those tweaks. We expect to pay a little bit higher prices at the airport so add $1 and double the number of tomatoes, onions, cheese, and mayo. (Btw in Portland's PDX airport there is an ordinance in place that local shops are not allowed to have different (higher) prices than in their city location, a great idea for other places to stop overcharging of people that have no other place to buy it)

Yelp
A go to breakfast place for me when I am at the D gate of SFO Airport. Staff behind the counter is pleasant. My breakfast sandwich is made fresh by a kind lady in the kitchen behind the counter. Eggs and spinach on sourdough bread goes perfectly with orange juice. Off to a good day of travel!

Yelp
Horrible for vegans. I walked all the way from one of those terminals to get some vegan breakfast. None of the pastries are vegan. There is no vegan cream cheese for the bagel. Because the cook was late they were not able to do any of the vegan smoothies or or warm vegan food. They should rename it the "not really plant" café.

Yelp
I've been to SFO just once in the past two years, which is pretty much par for any pandemic survivors who don't rely on travel for work. I also have a vivid memory of the quality levels and price points of the food available in Terminal 2. I guess that's why I didn't begrudge The Plant Cafe for charging me $7.15, which seems steep for a Fruit Cup with a few chunks of melon, pineapple, and strawberries. That made the $4.25 I spent on coffee a relative bargain. FOOD - 3 stars...well, it was a cup of fresh fruit AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...it was nice just to be at the airport SERVICE - 3 stars...understandably hesitant TOTAL - 3 stars..,at least I know The Plant can't burn anything RELATED - Need to eat at the airport? Here's a collection of places I've tried and reviewed: https://bit.ly/2We11qd

Yelp
Thai salad wrap ordered. $16. Ambiance: airport and crying children (that's fine I have a kid, the noise of my people) Flavor: promising bc of the mint leaves but lacked delivery. The wrap was dry as hell. And when I dipped it in the sauce it too was somehow dry as hell. 4/10. Do not recommend. Also not spicy.

Yelp
Solid 3 stars for airport food option. Napa farms market has better reviews and more options but was craving something hot like a vegan burger. Their vegan burger was solid, served hot, and if you like beets in your veg burger like I do, it will hit the spot. The green salad served with it though was not so appetizing, with lots of wilted greens and dressing which was mostly oil.
google avatar

Paige S.

Yelp
One of the few places open in the airport in that terminal and they have a few gluten free things. This was my second time there. They have a nice gluten free bagel and cream cheese. Nice quick spot to grab a snack if you have to be gluten free. Eaten the same thing twice and haven't gotten sick.

Yelp
If I could rate 0. Very very dry wrap. I ordered chicken Caesar wrap and it was so dry. Chicken did not taste good. On complaining I was just told that it's ok. I asked for sauces like mayo or ranch to make it less dry - but there was none. They only had Caesar sauce which was not good. I am not going back here.

Yelp
An early morning in the airport meant I needed a pick-me-up, prompting me to turn to The Plant Cafe. I ordered the Healthy Sunrise, an amalgamation of freshly pressed (I think?) carrot, beet, orange, apple, and lemon. Pros: Fast delivery, organic produce, no unnecessary ingredients. Cons: The price! $10.99 for a 16 oz cup of juice is absurd, even within an airport. When I received my drink it was also room-temperature, which detracted from the overall experience of the drink. Taste wise, the drink was simple but refreshing. Would I return? Probably not. Did it get the job done? Yes!

Yelp
I grabbed dinner from another spot nearby and was looking for dessert. It was a toss-up between this spot and Pinkberry next door. I decided to come here since the line was shorter and who doesn't prefer healthier food...sometimes. I picked up a lemon almond cookie which was decent.

Yelp
So happy to find a healthy vegetarian and vegan cafe at the Terminal 2, Alaska Air Gate! Across from D9 and D8. A lot of grab and go options if you are late or short on time for your flight! You Have soups, smoothies, sandwiches, udon, breakfast burrito, fresh juices and latte.
google avatar

Yelp
8am Saturday Breakfast burrito: potatoes were not cooked , hard and un-eatable picked them out. burrito service was extremely fast, got me thinking they might be pre-made. black beans were piping hot. tortilla wrap insulated all that nuke heat? Iced Coffee: already made and poured from the fridge. tastes fine
google avatar

Yelp
This review is for the smoothie - terrrrrrribly watery and lacking flavor. Yes I taste the blueberry and almond butter but mostly its ice.
google avatar

Neha R.

Yelp
This place is located at the SFO airport. It was one of the few healthy options available and I was expecting the smoothies to be a little bit more expensive than usual but that is expected. My biggest reason for giving them three stars is that on the machine it did not allow you to select a zero percent tip. I actually had to ask one of the cashiers to show me how do the same and after that I was extremely worried that somebody was going to spit in my smoothie because the machines were all in the back. It was not like that the machine did not have an option to select 0% tip, but they had actually taped over that option so people thought that they had to give a minimum 20% tip. What irked me was the fact that they were trying to take away that option from customers.
google avatar

Ruchita S.

Yelp
Ordered quinoa bowl which was not that great but plant based burger is really good! They have some good smoothies if you arrive for breakfast or earlier in the day Service is good, they are very careful about every instruction given so i love them!
google avatar

LeeAnn B.

Yelp
Ordered the blue-green smoothie with almond milk--delicious and healthy. Would order again.

Doktor G.

Yelp
I ordered a Strawberry smoothie for my daughter it tasted like water. When I asked if that was normal, she grabbed the cup out of my hand and went in the back. I assume she went to remake it but the second smoothie was also terrible. I wasn't expecting special but we couldn't event drink it.

S S.

Yelp
My food was 13 bucks. I check my bank statement days later and it says 20 bucks. When paying she told me to click a button to skip to the payment option- I guess that was a tip button. THEY ARE SCAMMING PEOPLE FOR TIPS.

A. K.

Yelp
I got a wrap for $15... Pretty bland and boring. So much so that I tossed it even at that price
google avatar

Stephanie M.

Yelp
Giving 4 starts because of the assistance received.... the pricing is, of course, way the freak too high... but this is a healthy place in an airport! $15 for the Cobb salad... steep but ok is an option. The service was awesome though. She was very accommodating. She gave me an option for extra chicken since I wanted protein. Fresh avocado is added to the cobb salad... I really wanted some bad for me food, but everything is closed except healthy places in terminal 2 by the D gates for covid. They were out of paninis and it made several people upset. Not me lol The organic banana cinnamon bread looks awesome. They have coffee products but no sugar free options. Overall classic healthy food from an airport.
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
I have low expectations for airport food, but this is the first time I've ever thrown food away while hungry. We tried a couple sandwiches. The chicken was inedibly dry, almost sawdust. The veggies were tasteless. The "spicy Thai" sauce was watery and tasted like diluted peanut butter with no other flavors.
google avatar

Kasey H.

Yelp
Well, my flight was delayed so they gave us a $12 meal voucher. I took it here and got an açaí smoothie for just over $11. It was good, had a gritty taste that I'm guessing is due to the hemp protein powder. It tasted good but was nothing amazing, especially for airport pricing. But it kept me happy during the delay!
google avatar

Dhanraj J.

Yelp
I wanted to grab a sandwich for my long flight and got a chicken pesto sandwich. I was shocked to find insects/roaches in the sandwich! This is a serious health hazard and I am disappointed! I have reached out to request a refund! Hope to get some response!
google avatar

Dagny L.

Yelp
Not surprised to see so many 1 star reviews. I ordered an egg and cheese on a plain bagel, well toasted - shouldn't have been that difficult. First, I got the sandwich on an everything bagel, then I got a plain bagel with cream cheese, thankfully the third time was the charm. Sandwich and potatoes were pretty flavorless , coffee was ok - not worth $17, although these are airport prices). And what the hell is the 5% surcharge for? It couldn't have been for the service. ‍

Andy W.

Yelp
The food was alright but it is vegan, i got scammed. I can't believe I paid 25 bucks for plants. Bad don't come

Maifu K.

Yelp
The food was subpar and very disappointing for the price point. I can't believe that this is sold at such a high price for something that I could easily find at another restaurant for 2x the quality. Don't come here

MaryKay M.

Yelp
I'm a plant based eater. I order the Vegetable Udon noodles with spicy lemongrass broth. Had zero flavor. Decided to exchange in for their plant based burger. I was served a burnt burger. $20 down the drain. Never again will I eat there.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
I went to the plant cafe early in the morning today as I was waiting for my flight. I ordered the breakfast bowl and a slice of banana bread. It was expensive but of course - everything is in an airport. I ordered it to go and carried it to my flight. The wait was around 5-7 minutes which was pretty helpful given that I wanted to make sure I could make my flight. When they delivered it to me they did not include my which I unfortunately did not realize as it was packaged to go. Additionally the breakfast bowl was more cooked and thrown in a box then anything else with the display not looking particularly appetizing. However, there was a bit of a saving grace because the food tasted very fresh, especially the avocado. And it was a generous serving my as well, 1/2 of an avocado and plenty of beans and toast
google avatar

Sai G.

Yelp
I loved the orange juice and i didn't realize until my friend told me that it was freshly extracted. Was great to see fresh and organic in airports. Keeps you healthy and feels refreshed having these during journey. I also tried the chicken Cesar wrap, it wasn't that great, but can try for once.
google avatar

Yelp
I love SFO and then I discovered THE PLANT by Alaska Airlines and I love this airport even more. CHAI LATTE: delicious splurge THE PLANT BURGER: bright pink, must be beets? But it's delicious and doesn't taste like beets. Comes with a side salad and light dressing. They have a bonus water filling station right in front of PLANT as well. The airport focuses on compostable packing and has compost/recycling stations everywhere.
google avatar

Kyle V.

Yelp
Exactly what you'd expect for an airport grab and go spot. Overpriced options that are advertised to be healthy. I grabbed a quick wrap that was in their display case and it was not good. The lettuce tasted horrible and I threw it away on my flight. My wife had a quinoa bowl and didn't hate it. It was probably above average for an airport but nothing special. The chocolate chip cookie was not good either. Very dry and bland. You're better off eating on the plane.
google avatar

Juliana P.

Yelp
It's ultimately airport food - so my standards are a bit lower. 3.5 but just rounded up. I've been here a few times when I've traveling through SFO and felt like the food has always been okay. Most recently I got the Thai chicken wrap and the chicken pesto sandwich with a green juice. I definitely prefer the wrap over the sandwich. The juice takes a really long time to come out so I definitely wouldn't recommend it if you are in a hurry. It's also really sweet and they only have paper straws which I didn't love. The options at the Napa market are much better but it's usually not crowded here and by convenient gates to Seattle. Service was excellent with smiley staff members, just wish juice making was a bit quicker.
google avatar

Pooja D.

Yelp
The worst green curry I've ever eaten! When I saw inside the box, it looked horrible but tasted even worse. Staff is inattentive and don't care. Go somewhere else, don't waste your money here.
google avatar

Ida S.

Yelp
The last time I was in SFO I was looking for a spot to eat that was healthy. Luckily, I found this place!! I will say it is California so everything tends to be a bit pricey and it's the airport... so go figure. There is a huge menu with tons of options. I was craving something a bit hearty so I ordered the green curry. When I tasted it , it honestly has no flavor so that was disappointing. I didn't think it would be so bland. I do love how they use eco friendly material. But then again, it is California. I definitely would give thhis spit a try again if I was SFO and order something else.
google avatar

Harmonie T.

Yelp
I've been to the Burlingame location a few times before it closed and very much enjoyed my experience there. So I was super happy that we flew in and out of Terminal 2 so that I can get my Wasabi Plant Burger. Legit vegan options at SFO! I'm not gonna lie, it's expensive AF although I'm pretty sure I paid the same price at Burlingame. At least at Burlingame I had full table service. Also, this came on a mediocre sourdough bun. Not sure if this location offers other breads but when I had the Wasabi Plant Burger at Burlingame, I ordered it on sliced bread (wheat or rye, I forget) and it was much better. I do however love the colors in this sandwich! http://bit.ly/2AEJZXh Not my most favorite meal but if I consider my other options at SFO, this would be my go-to for something vegan.
google avatar

Derrick C.

Yelp
Grabbed the veggie burger. What strikes you first when you eat it is that the patty is not as solid as it looks. It's loosely packed. When I took the first bite it was quite great and unexpectedly flavorful. What ends up happening given how non solid the patty is is that it ends up feeling less filling. If they made the veggie patty more solid and possibly thicker so that the ratio of patty to bread was higher i'dgive the sandwich a 4/5 instead of 3/5. The sale was standard and the dressing was okay.
google avatar

Dolores P.

Yelp
Customer Service is very rude here. They ignore you when you politely call for them. You have to yell to get their attention and then they will gaslight you and manipulate with you just to make you feel bad for doing what was necessary. I have a baby and extremely exhausted. How is anyone that is eating here going to communicate with the employees if the employees want to ignore and slack on the job. He looks hispanic or Indian , black hair. I miss Texas service .
google avatar

Zita M.

Yelp
The healthiest option in terminal 3. I really enjoyed how the restaurant offered full and half salads to go along with sandwiches and paninis. I got the beets, walnut and goat cheese half salad and the chicken avocado sandwich. Will eat here again.
google avatar

Ana V.

Yelp
This Plant has far better salads than any of the local SF locations. I used to eat at Plant in San Francisco all of the time, but they started making things too small (especially their delivery items - nightmare) and it was just not worth it to eat there. Anyway, had the Dino Kale salad at SFO and a juice... so incredibly delicious and fortifying. Keep it up SFO Plant, will eat there any time... YUM!

Emmanuel B.

Yelp
Clean location friendly environment and food taste good salad is delicious I recommend it.
