"Located in a gorgeous clubhouse overlooking Kapalua's lush Plantation Golf Course, the Plantation House is the go-to place on Maui to celebrate a special occasion. The sweeping views over the world-famous golf course and the ocean are worth the trip alone. If you're here for dinner, expect Angus beef, Australian lamb, just-caught mahi mahi, and fresh local crudo. Make sure to have the somm walk you through the phone book-length wine list, which is a mix of crowd-pleasers like New Zealand sauvignon blancs and Napa Valley cabernets, wonderfully obscure varietals and big-spender bubbles (Bollinger, Taittinger, Dom Perignon)." - Juliana Shallcross, Kris Fordham

"Sure, it's a romantic dinner spot, but breakfast is what The Plantation House does best. There's not one, but six, variants of eggs Benedict; the pork belly Benedict is the clear winner, because—let’s be real—the only thing that could make an already-perfect Benny better is a hunk of fatty, juicy, melt-in-your-mouth pork. Also extraordinary is the Maui sweet bread French toast, which is thick and fluffy and challah-like, and the pineapple upside down–style pancakes. Throw in a cheeky glass of designer bubbles—Bollinger, Dom Perignon—and you've got a breakfast as glorious as the view." - Kris Fordham

Hidden Gem - great for a happy hour bite! During my visit to Maui, another tourist recommended the restaurant inside the Kapalua Plantation Course, and I’m so glad I took their advice. This spot is an absolute hidden gem, especially for happy hour. The views are breathtaking—lush greens, ocean vistas, and a relaxing ambiance that’s perfect for unwinding. I stopped in for a light bite before the dinner rush and ordered a salad and their calamari bites. Both were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The calamari was perfectly crispy, and the salad was refreshing with a great mix of ingredients. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the vibe was laid-back yet elegant. It’s the ideal place to enjoy a snack or drink while soaking in one of Maui’s best views. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m on the island!

The venue was lovely, situated on a golf course and surrounded by beautiful trees and well-maintained grass. It also offers a great view of the sunset. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The restaurant itself is quite spacious, making it suitable for hosting large gatherings. The food, however, was mixed. I had a fish pairing dish: one of the fish was delicious and well-prepared, but the other was overcooked and lacked any special preparation or flavor. The panna cotta was quite ordinary—something you could find almost anywhere—and overly sweet for my taste. Espresso was presented while it split over saucer. Food garnishing was also poor considering price. My rating is mostly based on cost performance ratio!

Came here for our anniversary dinner and had one of the best meals I've ever had, period. My cocktail was phenomenal. Our server was the sweetest. The view was amazing, as we were seated in time to enjoy the sunset. My husband ordered the ribeye and that was delicious. I had the ahi, which is a bold choice for me, and I enjoyed every bit of it. It was sushi grade, so recommend rare and wow! It did not disappoint. So melt in your mouth good. I highly recommend the Plantation house for any special occasion dinner, and I look forward to going back some day for brunch.

Google
Received an anniversary gift certificate from our kids for dinner here while on our first trip to Hawaii. Beautiful state, awesome golf courses, and delicious dinner at the Plantation House. Service was excellent. Food tasted and looked great. Loved the history depicted on walls and trophy winner wall.

Google
GOO HERE!!!!!! Went with the family, live music, amazing food and atmosphere. Recommend reservation makes getting a table WAYYY EASIER. The food was absolutely amazing, the fish melted in your mouth, it was a calming dinner experience. Warning velvet parking only!!

Went here for both breakfast and dinner. Both experiences were amazing. The view is unreal. The dishes rival Mamas fish house! Yes, you heard me right :)

Google
Had dinner at The Plantation House, a beautiful restaurant on the Kapalua Golf course which overlooks the ocean. The restaurant has live music and a fantastic staff. If you are able to get a table around sunset, there is a beautiful sunset view from the restaurant. The macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi was a popular dish at multiple restaurants in the area. The mahi mahi was so tender and the crisp from the macadamia nut paired for the perfect bite of texture heaven. The scallops were huge and topped with a delicious tomato marmalade and served over lobster risotto. I could have put down 20 of these scallops they were so good!

Food and Atmosphere is fantastic, but our server was little to old to understand and deliver a level of service, but good thing is there is large team of supervisors and other staff made all good.

Yelp
We recommend everyone who visit Maui to come to the plantation estate! It is so beautiful and the restaurant is located on a mountain oversee the ocean. I did not make a reservation and was able to walk in at 9:30 AM. If you want seating with the nice view, I would recommend booking in advance to secure. Food itself was delicious as well. The banana bread was fresh and warm with the passion fruit butter. We also really liked the tuna melt, you can taste the freshness of the fish! We will definitely come back for more.

Yelp
Wow! What an amazing view! Plenty of parking. We lucked out and got a table that was partly outside. Service was amazing. Extremely friendly. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. Seeing the ocean, course, golfers with amazing food was epic. Can't wait to return.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about Plantation House. ISABEL is the best server we've ever had. She was so kind and attentive to detail. She sold us on the catch of the day and the rack of lamb and we were not disappointed. Food was delicious and a good change from all the food trucks we were eating at on the island. The lamb was so good and flavorful. The restaurant is breathtaking and we really enjoyed the scenery. 10/10 stars Thanks Isabel for everything and making my wife's bday special. The brownie was delicious!

Yelp
We made a res at the Plantation House for our fancy dinner while on Maui. Although the service and ambiance were very good, the lack of execution on the entrees warrants a 3 star rating overall. My escargot was ok. The sauce was more creamy vs the garlic butter sauce I am accustomed to. Likewise, her beet salad was very good. There was a lot of local produce, and the goat cheese was nice and tart. On the other hand, the entrees were a complete fail. My scallops were dry and the risotto was mushy. Mala Ocean in Lahaina does a much better job w/ this dish. Her sig short rib was dry AF. She hardly ate any of it. We will not return bc there is much better food in West Maui at lower prices. I'd have lunch here after golf, but I certainly would not come out of my way to have dinner here.

Katie B.

Yelp
Came here twice on our vacation! Recommend making reservations. Breakfast was fresh and light. The banana bread is warm and tasty! Dinner options were also very good. French onion soup was ok, didn't have much cheese on top, mostly just broth. Salads were good. Mahi Mahi was delicious! Overlooks the golf course and the ocean!

Ally L.

Yelp
Delicious! We made a last minute reservation before our flight out and it was the perfect final meal. The food was fresh and delicious, wait staff was polite, and the view was immaculate! You are able to watch the golfers and look at the ocean to whale watch. Would definitely recommend this spot!

Yelp
Whoa! We came to the other night. I wasn't expecting much I mean it's at a golf course, right? .... Morgan our server took us on a culinary experience with her fabulous recommendations of drinks and food. I really planned on taking pictures of my food and such but we were so involved with great conversation that I neglected to take pictures. ...We enjoyed this place so much that we came here the next day for lunch canceling our other engagements. This time we had Calvin. He was equally awesome and shook us up some amazing drinks. They have a nonalcoholic selection that I feel throws them over the five star category. Just come here check out the menu. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
The Plantation House in Kapalua is all about the location and the view! Perched above the famous gold course, The Plantation House has a stunning view of the course and the ocean. It is a great place to enjoy dinner and a sunset. Service was very good. Everyone was friendly and attentive. The food was very good. We loved the warm bread to start, the beet and arugula salad with local ingredients and the fresh fish we had were all delicious. The only thing we had an issue with was the pacing. We ordered a bottle of wine and hoped to enjoy a nice relaxing meal. But we barely finished our salads before the next course was coming. I'm all about fast service but it felt a little rushed.

Alia G.

Yelp
After a round of golf, we needed a bite and drink to celebrate the fact that we made it around 18 holes at the Plantation course. OK... maybe I was the only way that felt that way since I struggled; the course kicked my okole. Finished our round about 3/3:15pm. Hardly anyone in the restaurant and bar since it was too late for lunch and too early for dinner. Sat at the bar and the folks here are super nice. I just wanted to drink and talk story with them, but they had to work and needed to set up for the dinner service starting soon. I enjoyed my drink and they have several fun ones on the menu. The calamari was hot and tasty. If you just want a pupu to get you to dinner time, this is a good option. The calamari were lightly breaded and tender.

Jolie M.

Yelp
I think this may be the best if not in the top 5 for Maui. Amazing food, service, and no better way to see the sunset. This is at the Kapalua Golf Course and it is GORGEOUS. We had a variety of appetizers as well as the macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi, the specials which were sea bass and then a two fish combo, and the tofu curry. Had Frank Family Cabernet and they brought us a dessert for our anniversary. Truly amazing! Upscale Hawaiian dress code- nothing fancy

Manning L.

Yelp
Very good fish tacos and the view on the golf course and ocean is great. As you're in Maui, it tends to be warm and we were seated at a table not near a fan, so it got warm at times during the meal. The fresh fish burger was great and the mocktail was so-so. Nice ambience and enjoyable location to have a nice meal.

Anna M.

Yelp
Very impressed with Christmas dinner at Plantation House! The food was delicious and excellent! It was a pre fixed menu but all the choices were wonderful! The staff were friendly and efficient. We had salads and mahi mahi and coconut tofu curry and cheesecake and pineapple upside down cake which were all amazing!!! The grounds and sights from our table were out of this world! Very beautiful scenery! I highly recommend the Plantation House for dinner!

S K.

Yelp
Loved this place! Drove the beautiful 10-15 minutes north from ( hotel alley) our area to this pretty plantation restaurant on golf course without reservation. Staff was wonderful. Menu was great for brunch- served enough breakfast and lunch choices. Sat us at open window to golf and ocean view. Food was beautiful and delicious and prices were same as near Whalers Village. Hubby had Portuguese Omelet and fruit platter which were both perfect. I had wedge salad and banana bread. Banana bread comes warm and is amazing. I would eat here every time I come. Free parking too. Highly recommend. Clean.

Talisha M.

Yelp
One word: View!!! It's an incredible view!! Gorgeous lawns. The service was great. Went for brunch and it was easy to get in, a tad cheaper but still pricey, and very good. Had some passion fruit orange mimosa with banana bread to start which was devine. Also had the French toast which I loved. The Portuguese sausage omelette was decent but lacked a lot flavor.

Yelp
Stunning views, very relaxing enjoyable place to hang out, dine & drink have fun. Service is great! Staff is friendly. Food is good ( used to be better) Gave 4 stars only as it's not what it used to be....it's the view... it's amazing !!!! Anyways, the coffee we had was stale ( it has been sitting in the burner for awhile). Catch of the day fish sandwich wasn't "fresh" ....we had to replace it with fish tacos and it was way better. We love it here so hate to have experienced this.

Yelp
I went to make a reservation for a special dinner next week when we visit Maui. We've been to this restaurant each year for the past five. In truth, the food is overpriced, menu limited but the ambiance and views are magnificent and the service is amazing. They now charge $25 per person to place a reservation. I understand that it won't be charged unless you are a no show or cancel within 24 hours of the reserved day and time, but I find this a classless new policy especially for repeat customers. I thought more about the policy and liked it even less after a few days. A sleek dining room and beautiful views are available in lots of establishments all over the island and it's truly rare not to be treated beautifully by serving staff. So long story short, The Plantation House has seen the last of me. I made another reservation at an upscale Italian place around the corner and they were more than pleased to welcome us without charging us to hold the reservation. Please don't get me wrong, the Plantation House is a beautiful restaurant with good food and service; but, the reservation policy is rude.

Dan B.

Yelp
While we get to Hawaii every 2 - 3 years we hadn't been to Maui in 20+. On our last visit we liked The Plantation House so much we visited twice. When we found they were still open we knew we had to go. Great service and a location that cannot be beat. Food is decent if a bit pricey. However, you really come here for the views to enjoy - spectacular!

Courtney E.

Yelp
We stopped here for brunch after a round of golf. The views here are awesome, overlooking the 18th hole and the ocean in the distance. I wanted iced coffee, so made my own with a shot of espresso, glass of ice and some cream! My husband ordered a cocktail with coconut/lime foam on top, and the bartender was kind (or intrigued) enough to add some to the top of my drink as well. I ordered the beet and arugula salad, which was basically what I expected. It was light and fresh, but nothing extra special. My husband ordered the crab cake eggs Benedict, which was very good. It was simple, but flavorful. Staff was average in my opinion - nothing bad to report, but no one was particularly friendly.

Alexa M.

Yelp
Had the most amazing dinner, and I don't say that lightly! I got the scallops with lobster risotto and asparagus, and it was by far the best dinner I had during my stay. Debbie was our server and she was so friendly and funny, and made the whole experience even better. Not to mention, the view during sunset is beautiful. Can't wait to come back here in the future.

Liz H.

Yelp
I was super excited to dine here for my last dinner in Maui but was super disappointed by the food and service of this restaurant. Overall the inside of the restaurant was beautiful and overlooks the Plantation Golf Course. When we first sat down our table was missing a set of dinnerware and we asked our server to get us a set and some extra napkins. He didn't bring it until our apps came but noticed he was just lingering around and chatting with other tables. He barely even checked up on us throughout the course of our meal too. It took almost 40 mins for us to get our drinks after ordering and then another 30 mins for us to get our entrees. If the restaurant was super busy, I would understand the delay, however it wasn't so not completely sure why the service was lacking there. The Hawaiian short rib was so dry, bland and lacked flavor, my friends who got the same dish as me agreed that it wasn't their favorite either. We all thought the apps (calamari & brussels) were better than the entrees. Cocktails were decent but overall not the best experience, especially for this price point.

Jessica M.

Yelp
I sent an email to this restaurant using the email they provided and have not heard back. Not sure why but it is so disappointing.

Jessica G.

Yelp
What a beautiful restaurant! We ate brunch at the plantation house for my friends rehearsal brunch. She reserved a private space for 20 people so they gave us two long tables. We had a set menu but we still got a good taste of some of their offerings. We started off with fresh warm banana bread with lilikoi butter. So delicious, I could probably eat a whole loaf of this. The lilikoi flavor was subtle and was the perfect add on to the warm sweet bread. I opted for the Hawaiian French toast. Such a generous portion! For the one we got served, though, it was just toast. It would have been nice to have something salty like eggs to complement the dish or even just more fruits. The servers were great. Quick to get everything out and handled our large party with ease. They kept our coffees filled and was super patient when some of our party had more questions. The restaurant is surrounded by greens and the windows open so there's a lot of fresh air coming through. It was so nice to look out at the view while we ate!

Tiffany T.

Yelp
The views are beautiful here which is super relaxing looking out into the golf course & ocean. I got the burger which was nice and juicy but the bun was soggy. If they lightly toast the buns it would make it so much better. My husband ordered the catch of the day which was Amberjack which he loved. For the two of us the bill came out to be $108. They do an extra 4% kitchen surcharge

Becca H.

Yelp
The view here is a solid 100/10. I had requested on my reservation a sunset view and they delivered on that. We had a beautiful open air table right next to the windows where we had a full view of the sunset. For service... Our waiter started off really friendly and then as soon as we decided not to order alcohol, it felt like a switch flipped and we were not his priority. Which was frustrating - We just aren't really drinkers but this feels like the kind of place people come & order wine or champagne. It feels very upscale. We easily spent $200 even without that but the waiter was pretty inattentive regardless. Our drinks ran out and we got one refill total because he was just never around. The food was delicious. We split a caesar salad to start. There's a salad split charge which we didn't know until we got the bill.... If we had known that we would've just split it ourselves or shared the bowl. But the waiter didn't tell us. I don't know if this is normal at upscale places but I've never seen it before. So be aware of that if you're splitting a salad. My husband ordered the short rib & it was the biggest win of the meal. DELICIOUS, flavorful and fall apart. I got the catch of the day which comes with a good portion of risotto. Flavors were also on point there though the veggies were a little undercooked. Tuxedo cake for dessert might've been my favorite bite. HUGE, moist, and a beautiful mix of different chocolate flavors with some pops of berry. I would come back for that 10x over.

Sophie V.

Yelp
I've been visiting The Plantation ever since 2004 One of my most favorite spots to eat on all of Maui! And of course the golf course is bucket list worthy! All the food I've ever ordered here for breakfast, lunch or dinner has been incredible!! The view is gorgeous even on the gloomiest or rainy days. They don't mind tailoring to any dietary challenges or food sensitivities. The entire staff is Top Tier here! 5 Stars Isnt enough! Thank you Plantation for never disappointing! Better than ever even after Covid craziness.

Dan B.

Yelp
Wonderful service and beautiful views. We had the best season in house, but we came a little too early because the shades were down until the sunset. Very cool ambience. All of our dishes were delicious.

Jackie O.

Yelp
Food was good, but the view was much better!! Gorgeous view and very good service! Excellent strawberry daiquiris!

Niki T.

Yelp
Very happy to update my previous review! Plantation House was absolutely fabulous last night. We were greeted warmly by the hostesses who acknowledged that we were celebrating a special event which was very nice. The food was outstanding and came out perfectly timed! We started with the Crispy Brussels Sprouts and Calamari and everyone at the table loved it. We had some salads as well (not pictured) which were also amazing and super fresh. The Kula Greens cannot be missed!! My dad and I ended up splitting the Ahi Tuna main course and the portion was super generous; the fish was outstanding and the preparation was lovely. Our server Amy was a total rockstar! She offered my parents celebratory champagne when we first got seated and brought out an anniversary dessert for them as well. She was so sweet and really went above and beyond. Even though our last dining experience left us wanting more, this visit more than won us back to a restaurant we used to visit every year that we were on island. Very pleased to see that management took the concerns of their customers to heart and made positive changes. I also very much admired what they did for the victims of the wildfires, which was a big reason why we chose to return on this trip. Still the best views of sunset (even if it was closely) and totally beautiful restaurant!

Amanda U.

Yelp
The place was amazing and the view from the patio is scenic. The service was great. Our server had the best attitude and real attentive. I want to say her name was Amanda, which I could be for sure to give her more props. Started with the banana bread with lilikoi butter. Down side I wish the bread was bigger. But bright side, it was so good. It was moist even without putting butter. But add the lilikoi butter, added a nice citrus flavor. First time trying lilikoi butter and will try more! Ordered the grilled fish sandwich. The sandwich felt light, especially cause it was filled with cabbage and avocado. But it was filling when i fished the sandwich. Got the ice cream on top of a warm brownie. Perfect way to end the meal. Would eat here again

Amber H.

Yelp
The restaurant is beautifully set over the 18th hole. Our waitress was very attentive and we had quick service. Don't be fooled by the sounds of the tuna melt sandwich. It's great! Made with real ahi tuna and the flavor was perfect! Cocktails were great as well.

Andy H.

Yelp
Goodness gracious. As someone who generally prefers to eat outside of the golf course, it's always nice to find a place on property that's worth staying and eating after a great round and this place fits the bill. I wish my courses back home had as good a fresh fish (ahi tuna on my day there) sandwich as this place. The fries were great and you can't beat the view from inside this restaurant. If you're lucky enough to be able to play Plantation, save some room in your tummy for a great after round meal!

Jack B.

Yelp
Food was incredible! The poke was the best we've had this trip, featuring a delicious "guacamame" and also goat cheese. I was skeptical at first about goat cheese and poke, but it went really well together! I had the fresh daily catch for my main, and it came with a very generous portion of rice and lovely grilled vegetables, but also a delicious lobster cognac cream sauce. To finish, we had the bananas fosters pancakes for dessert (usually is a breakfast, but it looked so good we couldn't not order it!) and it mightve been the best pancakes I've ever had. The views were also probably the best view on the island, as it was so diverse, ocean view, golf view, and a view of Kapalua.

Katharina M.

Yelp
Amazing food and views. I had the catch of the day and it was absolutely delicious, one of the best dining experiences in Maui that I had so far! Also, the view is incredible! Highly recommend visiting!

Suzanne R.

Yelp
Wonderful dinner and awesome view! Tried escargot for the first time, they were prepared very well. Short ribs and mashed potatoes were incredible. We had a reservation but gotthere early to check out Kapalua, which is so beautiful. They were able to seat us early which was nice. Many great photo ops. Def check it out.

Cynthia H.

Yelp
Fantastic restaurant! The views are amazing. We had sunset reservations for our last night on the island. We were facing the ocean on this little balcony. The entire set up of the restaurant allows for the best views. Our server was so nice. Everyone who works there was extremely pleasant. I wasn't feeling very well due to all the partying I did on The island...lol...so I just got their potato leek soup and beet salad. Probably the best soup I've ever had. The salad had arugula and this delicious dressing. It's was so good. My friends got the steak and I can't remember what else....oops!....anyway this is a must go to when in Maui. I will definitely be back.

Tracy C.

Yelp
We have always had great service at PH but this time they missed the mark. A 40th birthday brunch was booked and they gave us a table right beside a window where they were tearing down the scaffolding for the golf so it was noisy with clanging metal and forklift trucks beeping as they backed up. They also ignored the birthday girl entirely even though we put it on our booking that is was a special occasion. Poor service and spoiled a birthday brunch. Duke's restaurant made up for it later at dinner but PH let us down. Food was good, as usual. Pog and champagne was a good combo. But it didn't take the bad taste away from the lack of birthday service. We are locals and have been to PH for brunch many times. Perhaps we will find a new brunch venue in future, especially for special celebrations.

Liz S.

Yelp
What a great meal in a beautiful location. Came with my son and a friend for an early dinner to catch the sunset, and found everyone from the valet to our server to be so friendly! I appreciated that upon seeing a toddler the first question was, "Do you need food right now??" We demolished the fluffy bread rolls and when our food came out (Macadamia crusted mahi HELLO?? *drool*) it was all delicious. Great sized portions, including the kids cheeseburger. We did get a little forgotten about at the end of the meal waiting for the check / looking to flag someone down, but an overall minor blip on a great meal!

Tim H.

Yelp
Stopped in for Christmas. I cannot say enough great things about this place. The ambiance is top notch. The service is incredible. The food is second to none. We were seated next to an open window, so the breeze and view were truly priceless. Thank you to all the staff, who sacrificed their holiday, to make our holiday not only memorable, but also extremely special. I am in debt to you all.

Nicole D.

Yelp
We made a reservation for 6:30pm and good thing we did, they were busy. We were sat around 6:45pm. The sun was setting and we were able to get great family pics. We ordered the kids cheeseburger with fruit, entree shrimp scampi and coconut curry. The scampi was on the pricier side ($45) but well worth it. The shrimp were huge and I was able to take 1/2 for leftovers. The coconut curry wasn't as good as it was for last time we had dined there. The kids enjoyed the burger and fresh fruit. I thought the wine options were great too. A wide variety and good price range $12+.

Jessica C.

Yelp
This reminded me of the movie Dirty Dancing. The restaurant sets on top of a hill that overlooks the golf course. When you walk in, you can tell that the patrons have been coming here for years. At first, I was a little worried because all of the guests were white, and my family is not. Fortunately, we found the staff and the general ambience to be incredibly welcoming and warm. The food was delicious and the view of sunset didn't hurt.

Melissa L.

Yelp
This is probably our favorite place to eat when visiting the island. We usually come here for breakfast but decided on our recent visit to have lunch here. I had their fish tacos which were amazing!! My niece ordered the Ceasar salad which I of course had to try, and it was wonderful. My toddler had the chicken tenders and fries off the kid's meal and she loved it. Can't get a better view than sitting here overlooking the golf course and ocean. Service is wonderful and everyone is very friendly and accommodating.

Richa S.

Yelp
Best breakfast spot in Hawaii! Loved the service and our waiter Zack! There was one minor mess up in order and they fixed it right away. View is beautiful as well.

Yelp
Great view! Enjoyed the lobster Benedict and burger. Banana bread with lilikoi butter is a must!

Yelp
Delicious and fresh food, excellent atmosphere, nice service, plenty of parking and beautiful and wide ocean views! I'll definitely go back there every time I visit Maui.

Yelp
$125 per person menu. We asked to spilt as we were on vacation(eating all the time) and server was visibly upset. She agreed and we tipped her extra cash on the side. She still tried to add things to our bill despite us trying to take care of her tip wise. Once I called her out, she removed and said her manager added it on accident. anyway, great scene and go before dark.

Yelp
This place overlooks a golf course and the ocean. Our view was unbeatable for brunch. They use fresh ingredients, and for their benedicts, they even make the English muffin from scratch. With that said, the overall flavor in our lobster Benedict was lacking but quality was good. They just need to season it more but hot sauce did the job.
