The Players Lounge Review - Congress Heights - Washington DC - The Infatuation
"The Players Lounge in Congress Heights has been a community staple since the '70s and on any given night, you’ll find it packed with regulars enjoying the A1 soul food and family feel. It’s a step back in time, with stained-glass Michelob overhead lamps, wood paneled walls and an old-school cash register. You’ll find most folks packed into the bar area, but there’s also extra seating in the back. Wednesday night karaoke is a vibe, so be ready to chop it up, and if you know how to act, you’ll feel at home in no time. Grab some chicken wings with the greens and mac and cheese (and a strong-a*s drink that’ll have you under the table) and you’re in for a good time." - Tristiaña Hinton
Janae is the only reason I come here, she makes me feel like my self she listens to my problems she’s everything and above what you need as a bartender, without Janae I don’t know where I would be in life

Friendly staff, decent prices, wide variety of music on the jukebox, pool tables are level and in good condition. Plus the bartenders are kinda beautiful!
Shame we have to smoke outside, but... OH well.

Nice place to stop traveling… they have a lounge and restaurant and a casino if you’re into that kind of thing… in the lounge they actually have a live band… that’s a first for me

Great but if you're an out of town person not so much. During nice weather they really need to have a waitress out on the floor. I was out on the patio and every time had to gather up my things to get a beer. After the third time I left. But the bartender was nice.

I travel the entire country on a regular basis and this is what I saw....Drinks were literally $10 each, door chick was cool as hell, security dude with the fluorescent vest looked annoyed, and Jessica the bartender was rude as hell for no reason... nothing to really return for or suggest this place to others.

Friendly bartenders I also have a great time when visiting my friends. And if u get too intoxicated they don't push more liquor because of the money. ( like other places I have been to in WF) this tavern is very responsible and safe place to entertain and enjoy socializing.

Yelp
Walked in on Tuesday Night around 12:30 and there was only the bartender and one other man there. Before I could even sit down the bartender told me that I wasn't allowed to be in the bar because I had a service dog with me, I replied back by asking her if she knew that if what she told me was illegal to tell me I'm not allowed to be there with my service animal and she told me she didn't care and that I needed to leave. I'm a Disabled Vet and need my service dog for numerous reasons and because of that I was told I couldn't come in and enjoy a drink like a normal individual. This upset me very much and I have contacted the ADA and VA about this issue and I'm waiting to hear back about what will happen.

Yelp
Super clean, 50 cent drafts before 5pm. Only drawback was all the tables are bar size no full size tables. Staff was awesome.
