Had an amazing experience at The Players Pub thanks to our server, Kevin. He was incredibly personable and made us feel welcome right from the start. His recommendations were spot on — you can tell he really knows the menu and cares about making sure guests have a great time inside and outside of the restaurant. Kevin’s energy and attentiveness turned a good afternoon into a great one. Definitely ask for him if you go — he’s a solid part of what makes this place special!

A great place for a quick bite and drinks, or a nice meal. A little pricy but worth the money. Really friendly staff and exceptional service, plus a variety of options for seating. Really just a great all around pub!

Great dinner! Our server Rachel was awesome. Gave great advice and was responsive.
The Short Rib on grits was out-of-this-world delicious!!! The local strawberry salad was delicious. Was blown away by the Fantail Shrimp. Crispy fried but-not-greasy flavorful shrimp with a light garlic butter and tartar sauce dip - will return and repeat these great selections.
One wierd thing... The Players Pub receptionist Laura made us wait 10 minutes before seating us. Even though over half the tables were vacant. She made other couples wait as well. Even though we arrived 2 minutes before our reservation. I asked her why did we have to wait 10 minutes? (It was actually more like 12 minutes) and she said that she needed to space out the seating of diners to allow the servers time to welcome and serve customers. That made No Sense to me. Especially since there were multiple servers working. Plus she never took our temperature and making people wait in the lobby, which requires you to have people walk by you during the Covid Pandemic, is ridiculous. Somebody needs to remedy that service issue. I was ready to walk out. Poor service from a receptionist is no way to start an evening at a higher priced restaurant.

The atmosphere is relaxing and open. The staff is first class, and they treat you as if you're a regular no matter if it's your first or hundredth time out there.

I ordered buffalo shrimp and fried green tomatoes. It tasted prepackaged and I could not taste or even see a tomato in the too heavy panko crust. The buffalo shrimp looked beautiful, but had very little flavor. It too tasted like something from food service company. I never review, but this was too expensive to be so bad. My husband’s dinner was good, but nothing special. I am very disappointed

We ordered the grouper sandwich and it was awful. It was the size of a flounder and over fried. Our waiter Will never came back to check on us — no one else was there when we came in. When he came back with the bill said he would let the chef know of our issue. Charged the full price — we are Governor’s Club and disgusted. Never going back and will complain to the Governor’s Club….beware….

This is like a scientific test for a restaurant - if the view is nice, the building is beautiful and the service is great, how awful and overpriced can we make the food before people stop coming? Can we charge $28 for a flavorless burger patty topped with canned mushrooms and slices of bland, Americanized Swiss cheese? Can we really get away with selling a huge piece of haddock that is tougher than a flank steak? What about pulling some fried shrimp out of the freezer and tossing some buffalo sauce on them?
Because The Players Pub commits all of those culinary sins and more, yet remains full, the answer seems to be yes.
