The Plot Twist

After stalking this book store on socials for months, my husband and I finally stopped by the store last Saturday! There was a great selection of books (full bookcases), the store was packed with customers creating a lovely buzz of excitement, and there was also a good selection of book goods (totes, stickers, etc). The staff was friendly and we had a great time. Also - an added bonus was seeing the twilight Lego set 😂 We can’t wait to go back!

Found this place by accident with a friend and her husband. At first her and I were put off by the whole romance theme but her husband was curious and we all 3 fell in love with this place! Even bought my first romance book! Went back a week later with more friends and almost everyone bought something they liked. I definitely got more stuff. And both times staff was super nice.

What an impressive book store-meets-cocktail lounge! 📚🍹🍸 The interior decorating is incredibly stylish with comfortable furniture to relax on in the reading lounge. I got a delicious mocktail with blueberry and ginger beer. The staff was super friendly, too. Even the bathroom’s beautiful. Come check this place out!

I don’t usually rate places, but this store is worth any sort of drive if you like romance books. I asked an employee for book suggestions, and got an awesome recommendation that I loved. The lounge is such a fun idea, and when I was there, there was blind book dates which is also a fun trend. All of the staff are amazing and such sweet people, I’ll be coming back often 😁

What's not to love about a bookstore you can carry around a fancy beverage? Alcoholic or non-alcoholic. The staff is very well informed and can point you in the best direction for books and drinks

Stunning book shop and bar. Service was excellent and they did such a great job on the book selection and decor. Our bartender was so friendly and excited to tell us all about the different drinks they offered. I purchased a "blind date" book and was very pleased!

I love romance fiction, and this book store exceeded all my expectations. They were playing Gilmore Girls when I came in, and if that wasn’t comfort enough, they knew all about the books I was interested in when asked for a new read. My best friends and I plan on going back very soon. 🖤

The cutest bookstore & bar! Staff were excellent and gave some great recommendations; and there were so many fun bookish things as well as a great selection of books. 😊

This was a really cool bookstore to visit! I am not gonna lie. It is mainly geared towards women. But even as a man who happened to be there with my wife, I did not feel uncomfopurple visiting. On top of being a bookstore, they are a bar. With kind of a speak easy type drinking room in the back. In addition to books, they sell other merchandise as well.Most notably their selection of socks!

The bookstore itself is very cute, and they have a nice lounge area to drink, and they had a great selection of books but that's where the compliments end. The staff is very rude. They are short with customers, and when the lady was calling to inform people their books were available she was very obnoxious and saying "you need to pick it up in the next 48 hours" like what if I am out of town? I asked what kind of alcohol brands they had and was directed to "only order off the menu, because we put a lot of work into it" Overall I would pass on ever coming here again. Go to talking animals or blush instead.

My family and I had the BEST day visiting The Plot Twist! There are books for every type of romance reader, book themed bar/coffee specials, and a reading lounge to sit back and drink a Tamlin's Tears while you recover from dropping your life-savings on all things bookish. I was so excited to find lots of local works from authors. The owner and staff were so kind and friendly to every customer. They were offering to take pictures for customers, give book recommendations, talk about upcoming plans for the store, or talk about anything book related. It's a bookstore you dream (or read) of visiting. I can't wait to go back!

Came here with some ladies from my Book Club and I really enjoyed this space! The cafe is such a fun add to this place. I love the fact that they offer both cocktails and mocktails! The ladies in my group really enjoyed the options! I will say that it is a small quaint place, so there isn't a terrible amount of seating. You pretty much have to grab a spot the second someone gets up from the table. So that's great for someone who wants a cozy spot to enjoy a book but it's not ideal for those who are trying to get together with a group of people. But it can definitely be done! Not a deterrent, but something for people to consider! All in all, I really enjoyed coming here and will definitely be back!

Best romance book store we've ever been to! Such a great vibe, we'd spend many days here if we could! A must visit for all your romance novels and merch finds! Plus a quiet back room "book nook" of sorts to just escape the hustle bustle of the day, grab a drink from their mixed drinks menu and read a book back there. It's super cute! We loved it! Could spend hours here, esp since they have a very clean, well decorated bathroom with good hand smelling soap! Lol it's all fantastic!

Visiting from San Antonio and Instagram informed me of this new store here in Denton. I am a book lover and this place didn't disappoint! Loved that not only will they be selling books but also candles, stickers, bookmarks etc. They also sell drinks! Staff was super friendly. The candles smell amazing and the bookmarks are super cute- great price for all items. The back though! An amazing area for sitting in the back! Bring a book and hang out! Definitely a stop for next book club trip! Can't wait to see what more this store brings around.

Visited this bookstore with a group of friends while walking around denton square. The store is very niche with a cozy vibe. A bit on the small side and tight during busy weekends. The drink menu was right in line with the theme of romance books. After waiting for what seemed like an eternity and trying to decipher who was in line for drinks, who was just standing around, and who was browsing books I finally made it to the front of the bar and ordered the Xaddy drink. It was blueberry and vanilla flavored with many other ingredients. Overall the drink tasted great but was also way too sweet and after talking more with the bartender we learned that this was only the first weekend serving drinks so I'm giving them a slight pass. The bartender told us that they could only pour 1oz shots into the drinks which surprised me since 2oz tends to be the standard for most bars and i would think that for around $12 i should be able to get a 2oz pour rather than what tasted more like a overly sugary mock-tail. Additionally, the drink serving was painfully slow, to the point that i stood in line for a second drink for nearly 15 minutes without any movement before i just gave up and went to get drinks somewhere else. It's unfortunate that this was the experience as i truly feel like the drink menu so well thought out but just fell short from what seemed to be an inexperienced bartender. This place is in huge need of a bartender with some real experience during peak hours that can get drinks out fast and keep the line moving and i also hope they can work out their pours so that the drinks are not quit as sugary. Overall this place is a great idea with a solid foundation with just okay execution.

I absolutely adore this place. My partner and I have visited twice now and we have been met with such kindness both times. Everyone is always so open to talking and sharing. There drinks are INCREDIBLE! They make a specialized menu that clearly has a lot of thought and is, for lack of a better description, absolutely girly pop in the best way. The lounge and over ambiance is welcoming and comfortable. I could read here for hours. So glad this business is a parts of the Denton community!

Today around 3:10pm. My husband and I, drove a distance excited to check this place out. We walked in and there was no greeting which we didn't think any of it, at first. We saw workers busy with other people so we figured they were just busy. However, everyone else was greeted with warm welcomes (even if they were occupied with another customer) and asked if they needed any help. I was excited to buy a book, but continuously got discouraged as we still didn't get any kind of acknowledgment that we were there. The place is small, so it's hard not to notice the small things of customer service. I ended up putting my book back and we walked out. It's a cute environment and the decor is nice to see. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

Everyone here is so sweet! The selection of the books is both mainstream and indie, so I definitely think it's a place you should check out if you want to visit a cute, non-chain bookstore. Finally we have a cute bookshop in DFW!
