Gorgeous food, great setting and the service highly attentive. Couldn't fault it at all.

Thank you so much for a wonderful Sunday lunch. The pub was beautifully decked out for Christmas and it felt very festive. Inside the fires were ablaze and it was very warm and welcoming. The service was fantastic - everybody we met was friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. The food was excellent. I could rhapsodise about each course but I can't really do much better than to repeat one of our party's summary that every element of the meal was perfect! A very enjoyable experience.

A visit is a wonderful treat! Service and atmosphere is absolutely spot on. Friendly, warm, and quite peaceful. Food was faultless and very enjoyable! I would definitely recommend a visit. I intend to return for the Sunday roast.

I’m so glad I found this amazing place, it’s so hard to find a place to eat that ticks all the boxes. The food was simply stunning and the staff was more than wonderful, we had the perfect evening celebrating. The chateaubriand was probably one of the best I’ve ever had….🤩 Thank you so much for such a special evening, we will definitely be back x

What a treat. A delightful gastro pub crammed with old world character. Exceptional food and service, you won't be dissapointed. On the expensive side at £90 -£100 per head with a couple of drinks each on a Friday evening but it was exceptional.

Had a wonderful date night here on Saturday evening. Food was incredible, atmosphere lovely and the staff was so kind. Looking forward to coming back another time to try the steak offerings!

My son has multiple food allergies. I spoke to Andrea before we booked to discuss their allergy protocol and their approach. Andrea could not have been more reassuring, understanding or professional. She advised they prep food for any allergy customers in a separate room with all fresh utensils and pans. I have never received such a brilliant response from a restaurant about his allergies. Someone ought to give Andrea a raise, she is brilliant!

My husband and I attended a Christmas dinner organised by his work place. Although the food was gorgeous, most of us ordered vegetarian because the protein they had on offer was only rich game meat such as pheasant, venison or specialised seafood and added to this it said that the meat may contain shot! This was all very off putting, even though there were a few people at our table with refined taste, they were also put off by this. It would have been better to at least have offered turkey, beef and/or chicken, which was not offered on the Christmas menu at all (yes, honestly, you read correctly, no turkey offered on a Christmas menu!) However, the service and staff were excellent and without fault. The surroundings and restaurant was beautiful and the atmosphere very festive and friendly. I guess maybe the Chef/Restaurant Manager was trying to be too clever and refined or wanted to be different with the food on offer, but in my humble opinion this didn't work and has put me off returning.
