10 Exciting Things To Do & Eat In LA Between May 7th-May 9th

"From May 16th through 23rd, Pop Off LA is creating a special food event that centers LA’s rich AAPI community restaurants and chefs. According to their website, it’s “not a festival,” but rather an event where chefs across the city collaborate on one-of-a-kind, limited-edition dishes. On their opening day, Secret Lasagna will be teaming up with Anajak Thai to create a chicken kraprao lasagna, made with red sauce and Thai basil pesto, and Bridgetown Roti will be partnering with Rice Box to serve okra callaloo with fried soft shell crab and porchetta. Even though it’s not happening this weekend, each dish/collaboration will be available only on the date(s) listed, and needs to be preordered. Head to their website for more information." - kat hong

Pop Up LA has great clothing designs, and the garments are quality. I was attracted by the unique designs which have the hand made touch. All items received were very eye catching and good quality. As for customer service, Dawn was very helpful and took time to assist me in finding sizes and collections that I liked. Though a few things were not in stock (due to being hand made or one- of-a-kind), Dawn was able to help me to find what was in stock or other items of interest. Also, I was offered a generous discount on an item I wanted and several very cool shirts were thrown in to make up for any out of stock items (nice surprise). Thanks again Dawn! I would recommend Pop Up LA because they care about customers, have good and fast communication, are generous, polite, and fair. Best wishes, Charles Lee Ryall

Went into this shop today and had one of the greatest shopping experiences of my life. Steve (along with being an incredible salesman) was extraordinarily kind and hospitable. He showed me along with my friend his unique and high quality pieces from his collection. He gave us great prices on everything, and even sold my friend Tom an incredibly rare and sought after Björk 1/1 sweater at an incredible price. I’m seeing all these poor reviews for what seems like absolutely no reason. The customer service was beyond anything I’ve ever received before, Steve was super kind and talked with me about the piece I was wearing. He even gave us some knowledge on music related to his work, and the origins of where the pieces he makes are from. He was even kind enough to give us a free piece from the rack outside after we shopped there. Top tier customer service and clothing. Thank you so much! -Oliver

If you love vintage but also love all original one-off clothing (no one will ever have the same!) this is the best looking, best value clothes you will find in LA. Steve and Dawn are amazing, and I love everything in this store. So much creativity, energy and exuberance in the clothes.
